[AI] "From Ibn Abbas, 'And if it were not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy in the world and the Hereafter, He would have seized you for what you have put forth.' He means, 'If it were not for what Allah has bestowed upon you and what He has concealed for you.' 'He would have touched you for what you have put forth.' He means, 'He would have punished you severely.' 'He wants nothing but falsehood.' 'A great punishment.' 'He wants no interruption for Him.'"

If it were not for God’s bounty and mercy towards you in this world and the next, you would already have been afflicted by terrible suffering for indulging in such talk.
