٥٢۔ كِتَابُ الزِّينَةِ ص ١
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Ten are the acts according to fitrah (nature): clipping the moustache, letting the beard grow, using the tooth-stick, cleansing the nose (Al-Istinshaq) with water, cutting the nails, washing the finger joints, plucking the hair under the arm-pits, shaving the pubes, and cleansing one's private parts (after easing or urinating) with water. The narrator said: I have forgotten the tenth, but it may have been rinsing the mouth. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 53)
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ عَشْرٌ مِنَ الْفِطْرَةِ قَصُّ الشَّارِبِ وَقَصُّ الْأَظْفَارِ وَغَسْلُ الْبَرَاجِمِ وَإِعْفَاءُ اللِّحْيَةِ وَالسِّوَاكُ وَالِاسْتِنْشَاقُ وَنَتْفُ الْإِبْطِ وَحَلْقُ الْعَانَةِ وَانْتِقَاصُ الْمَاءِ قَالَ مُصْعَبٌ «وَنَسِيتُ الْعَاشِرَةَ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ الْمَضْمَضَةُ» خَالَفَهُ سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ وَجَعْفَرُ بْنُ إِيَاسٍ
"I heard Talq mentioning ten things that have to do with the Fitrah: Using the Siwak, trimming the mustache, clipping the nails, washing the joints, shaving the pubes, rinsing the nose, and I am not sure about rinsing the mouth." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5041)
سَمِعْتُ طَلْقَ بْنَ حِبِيبٍ يَذْكُرُ عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْفِطْرَةِ السِّوَاكُ وَقَصُّ الشَّارِبِ وَتَقْلِيمُ الْأَظْفَارِ وَغَسْلُ الْبَرَاجِمِ وَنَتْفُ الْإِبْطِ وَالْخِتَانُ وَغَسْلُ الدُّبُرِ وَحَلْقُ الْعَانَةِ وَالِاسْتِنْشَاقُ وَأَنَا شَكَكْتُ فِي الْمَضْمَضَةِ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Five things are of the Fitrah: Circumcision, shaving the pubes, plucking the armpit hair, clipping the nails and trimming the mustache.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5043)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَمْسٌ مِنَ الْفِطْرَةِ الْخِتَانُ وَحَلْقُ الْعَانَةِ وَنَتْفُ الضَّبْعِ وَتَقْلِيمُ الظُّفْرِ وَتَقْصِيرُ الشَّارِبِ وَقَفَهُ مَالِكٌ

52.2 [Machine] The warming of the mustache, and the exemption of the beard
٥٢۔٢ إِحْفَاءُ الشَّارِبِ، وَإِعْفَاءُ اللِّحَى
The Apostle of Allah ﷺ said: Trim closely the moustache, and let the beard grow. (Using translation from Muslim 259a)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «أَحْفُوا الشَّارِبَ وَأَعْفُوا اللِّحَى»
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Let the beard grow and trim the mustache.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5046)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَعْفُوا اللِّحَى وَأَحْفُوا الشَّارِبَ»
"I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: 'Whoever does not take from his mustache, he is not one of us.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5047)
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ لَمْ يَأْخُذْ مِنْ شَارِبِهِ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا»
52.3 [Machine] Trimming boys' hair
٥٢۔٣ حَلْقُ رُؤُوسِ الصِّبْيَانِ
The Prophet ﷺ gave the children of Ja'far three day' time to visit them. He then came to visit them, and said: Do not weep over my brother after this day. He said: Call to me the children of my brother. We were brought to him as if we were chicken. He said: Call a barber to me. He then ordered and our heads were shaved. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4192)
أَمْهَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ آلَ جَعْفَرٍ ثَلَاثَةً أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُمْ فَقَالَ «لَا تَبْكُوا عَلَى أَخِي بَعْدَ الْيَوْمِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «ادْعُوا لِي بَنِي أَخِي فَجِيءَ بِنَا كَأَنَّا أَفْرُخٌ» فَقَالَ «ادْعُوا لِي الْحَلَّاقَ فَأَمَرَ بِحَلْقِ رُءُوسِنَا مُخْتَصَرٌ»
52.4 [Machine] The License in the Head Shaving
٥٢۔٤ الرُّخْصَةُ فِي حَلْقِ الرَّأْسِ
The Prophet ﷺ saw a boy with part of his head shaved and part left unshaven. He forbade them to do that, saying: Shave it all or leave it all. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4195)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَأَى صَبِيًّا حَلَقَ بَعْضَ شَعْرِهِ وَتَرَكَ بَعْضَهُ فَنَهَى عَنْ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ «احْلِقُوهُ كُلَّهُ أَوِ اتْرُكُوهُ كُلَّهُ»
52.5 [Machine] Prohibition of a woman shaving her head.
٥٢۔٥ النَّهْيُ عَنْ حَلْقِ الْمَرْأَةِ رَأْسَهَا
"The Messenger of Allah prohibited that a woman should shave her head." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 914)

52.6 [Machine] Prohibition of stealing
٥٢۔٦ النَّهْيُ عَنِ الْقَزَعِ
The Prophet [SAW] said: "Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has forbidden me from Al-Qaza' (to shave part of the head and leave part)." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5050)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «نَهَانِي اللهُ عَنِ الْقَزَعِ»

٥٢۔٧ ذِكْرُ الِاخْتِلَافِ عَلَى عُبَيْدِ اللهِ فِيهِ
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade Qaza’.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3638)
«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْقَزَعِ»
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ forbade qaza'a (a type of haircut), Ibn Jurayj contradicted them. He narrated it from Ubaidullah who said: Nafi' informed me.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «نَهَى عَنِ الْقَزَعِ» خَالَفَهُمِ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ رَوَاهُ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ
"I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbidding Al-Qaza' (shaving part of the head and leaving part)." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5229)
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يَنْهَى عَنِ الْقَزَعِ»

52.8 [Machine] Taking from the Poetry
٥٢۔٨ الْأَخْذُ مِنَ الشَّعْرِ
"I came to the Prophet [SAW] and I had hair. He said: 'This is bad,' and I thought he meant me, so I cut my hair then I came to him. He said to me: 'I didn't mean you, but this is better.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5052)
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَلِي شَعْرٌ فَقَالَ «ذُبَابٌ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ يَعْنِينِي فَأَخَذْتُ مِنْ شِعْرِي ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ» فَقَالَ لِي «لَمْ أَعْنِكَ وَهَذَا أَحْسَنُ»
52.9 [Machine] The translation of الْجَعْدُ into English is: "The Curly".
٥٢۔٩ الْجَعْدُ
[Machine] He heard him say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was neither tall and lanky, nor short and stout, neither very fair-skinned nor very dark-skinned, and he did not have curly hair like a cat's fur, nor was it straight.
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْسَ بِالطَّوِيلِ الْبَائِنِ وَلَا بِالْقَصِيرِ وَلَا بِالْأَبْيَضِ الْأَمْهَقِ وَلَا بِالْآدَمِ وَلَيْسَ بِالْجَعْدِ الْقَطَطِ وَلَا بِالسَّبْطِ مُخْتَصَرٌ
"The hair of the Prophet [SAW] was wavy, neither curly nor straight, and (hung down) between his ears and his shoulders." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5053)
«كَانَ شَعْرُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ شَعْرًا رَجُلًا لَيْسَ بِالْجَعْدِ وَلَا بِالسَّبْطِ بَيْنَ أُذُنَيْهِ وَعَاتِقَيْهِ»
52.10 [Machine] Hair Soothing
٥٢۔١٠ تَسْكِينُ الشَّعْرِ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ came to us and saw a man with disheveled hair, so he said, "Doesn't this man find something to calm his hair?" Yahya bin Sa'id contradicted him and narrated it from Muhammad bin Al-Munkadir from Abu Qatadah as a Mursal Hadith.
أَتَانَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَرَأَى رَجُلًا ثَائِرَ الشَّعْرِ فَقَالَ «أَمَا يَجِدُ هَذَا مَا يُسَكِّنُ بِهِ شَعْرَهُ؟» خَالَفَهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ رَوَاهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ مُرْسَلًا
[Machine] He had a massive camel, so he asked the Prophet ﷺ for advice. The Prophet ﷺ commanded him to treat her kindly and to ride her every day. Abu Abdullah said, "And this is the closest to the correct answer, and Allah knows best."
كَانَتْ لَهُ جُمَّةٌ ضَخْمَةٌ فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُحْسِنَ إِلَيْهَا وَأَنْ يَتَرَجَّلَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ «وَهَذَا أَشْبَهُ بِالصَّوَابِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ»
"I met a man who accompanied the Prophet [SAW] as Abu Hurairah accompanied him for four years, who said: 'The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade us from combing our hair everyday.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5054)
لَقِيتُ رَجُلًا صَحِبَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَمَا صَحِبَهُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ أَرْبَعَ سِنِينَ قَالَ «نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَمْتَشِطَ أَحَدُنَا كُلَّ يَوْمٍ»

٥٢۔١١ التَّرَجُّلُ غِبًّا
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade combing the hair except every second day. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4159)
«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ التَّرَجُّلِ إِلَّا غِبًّا»
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ prohibited women from riding unless in dire need. Yunus ibn Ubaid contradicted this, as narrated from Al-Hasan and Muhammad, with their saying."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «نَهَى عَنِ التَّرَجُّلِ إِلَّا غِبًّا» خَالَفَهُ يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَمُحَمَّدٍ قَوْلَهُمَا
"Combing one's hair (should be done) every other day." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5057)
عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَمُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا «التَّرَجُّلُ غِبٌّ»
"One of the Companions of the Prophet [SAW] was a governor in Egypt, and one of his companions came to him and found him with unkempt, wild hair. He said: 'How come I see you with wild hair when you are a governor?' He said: 'The Prophet of Allah [SAW] forbade us from Al-Irfah,' and we said: 'What is Al-Irfah?' He said: 'To comb your hair every day.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5058)
كَانَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَامِلًا بِمِصْرَ فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَإِذَا هُوَ أَشْعَثُ الرَّأْسِ مُشْعَانٌّ فَقُلْتُ «مَا لِي أَرَاكَ مُشْعَانًّا وَأَنْتَ أَمِيرٌ؟» قَالَ كَانَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْهَانَا عَنِ الْإِرْفَاهِ قُلْنَا «مَا الْإِرْفَاهُ؟» قَالَ «التَّرَجُّلُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ سَمَّاهُ سَعِيدُ بْنُ إِيَاسٍ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ
A man from among the Companions of the Prophet [SAW] who was called 'Ubaid said: "The Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to forbid too much of Al-Irfah." Ibn Buraidah was asked what too much of Al-Irfah meant, and he said: "It includes combing the hair." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5239)
أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يُقَالُ لَهُ عُبَيْدٌ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَنْهَانَا عَنْ كَثِيرٍ مِنَ الْإِرْفَاهِ سُئِلَ ابْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنِ الْإِرْفَاهِ فَقَالَ «التَّرَجُّلُ»

٥٢۔١٢ التَّيَامُنُ فِي التَّرَجُّلِ
[Machine] It was narrated that the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to love to do good deeds as much as possible with regards to his purity, shoes, and walking. Muhammad ibn Bashr reported this narration from Ash'ath from Al-Aswad ibn Yazid from Aisha.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ «يُحِبُّ التَّيَامُنَ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ فِي طُهُورِهِ وَنَعْلِهِ وَتَرَجُّلِهِ» خَالَفَهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ رَوَاهُ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to like to start in the right. He would accept with his right hand and give with his right hand, and he liked to start on the right in all his affairs." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5059)
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُحِبُّ التَّيَمُّنَ يَأْخُذُ بِيَمِينِهِ وَيُعْطِي بِيَمِينِهِ وَيُحِبُّ التَّيَمُّنَ فِي جَمِيعِ أَمْرِهِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ «وَالَّذِي قَبْلَهُ أَوْلَى بِالصَّوَابِ»

٥٢۔١٣ اتِّخَاذُ الشَّعْرِ، وَاخْتِلَافُ أَلْفَاظِ النَّاقِلِينَ فِيهِ
The hair of Messenger of Allah ﷺ were halfway down his ears. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4186)
«كَانَ شَعْرُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَى نِصْفِ أُذُنَيْهِ»

«كَانَ شَعْرُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ أُذُنَيْهِ» خَالَفَهُمَا قَتَادَةُ
The hair of the Prophet ﷺ used to hang down up to his shoulders. (Using translation from Bukhārī 5903)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «كَانَ يَضْرِبُ شَعْرُهُ مَنْكِبَيْهِ»
"I never saw any long haired man in a Hullah who was more handsome than the Messenger of Allah [SAW], and he had hair that came down to his shoulders." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5233)
مَا رَأَيْتُ مِنْ ذِي لِمَّةٍ أَحْسَنَ فِي حُلَّةٍ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَلَهُ شَعْرٌ يَضْرِبُ مَنْكِبَيْهِ
"I have never seen anyone who looked more handsome in a red Hullah than the Messenger of Allah [SAW], with his long hair that came down to his shoulders." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5060)
«مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا أَحْسَنَ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَجُمَّتُهُ تَضْرِبُ مَنْكِبَيْهِ»
"I have never seen any man more handsome in a red Hullah than the Messenger of Allah [SAW]." He said: "And I saw his long hair, coming almost to his shoulders." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5062)
مَا رَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا أَحْسَنَ فِي حُلَّةٍ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «وَرَأَيْتُ لَهُ لِمَّةً تَضْرِبُ قَرِيبًا مِنْ مَنْكِبَيْهِ»
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] was a man of average height with broad shoulders, a thick beard and a reddish complexion, and his hair came down to his earlobes. I saw him in a red Hullah and I never saw anything more handsome than him." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5232)
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا مَرْبُوعًا عَرِيضَ مَا بَيْنَ الْمَنْكِبَيْنِ كَثَّ اللِّحْيَةِ تَعْلُوهُ حُمْرَةٌ جُمَّتُهُ إِلَى شَحْمَةِ أُذُنَيْهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحْسَنَ مِنْهُ

٥٢۔١٤ الذُّؤَابَةُ
"According to whose recitation do you want me to recite? Because I recited seventy-odd Surahs to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] when Zaid had two braids, and was playing with the other boys." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5063)
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ «عَلَى قِرَاءَةِ مَنْ تَأْمُرونَنِي أَقْرَأُ لَقَدْ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِضْعًا وَسَبْعِينَ سُورَةً وَإِنَّ زَيْدًا لِصَاحِبِ ذُؤَابَتَيْنِ يَلْعَبُ مَعَ الصِّبْيَانِ» خَالَفَهُ أَبُو شِهَابٍ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ
"Ibn Mas'ud addressed us and said: 'How do you want me to recite? According to the recitation of Zaid bin Thabit, when I learned seventy-odd Surahs from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah [SAW] while Zaid was with the other boys with two braids?'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5064)
«كَيْفَ تَأْمُرُونِي أَقْرَأُ عَلَى قِرَاءَةِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ بَعْدَمَا قَرَأْتُ مِنْ فِيِّ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِضْعًا وَسَبْعِينَ سُورَةً وَإِنَّ زَيْدًا مَعَ الْغِلْمَانِ لَهُ ذُؤَابَتَانِ»
"When he came to the Prophet [SAW] in Al-Madinah, the Messenger of Allah [SAW] said to him: 'Come closer to me.' So he came closer to him, and he put his hand on his braid and wiped his head and prayed for him." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5065)
أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «ادْنُ مِنِّي» فَدَنَا مِنْهُ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى ذُؤَابَتِهِ ثُمَّ أَجْرَى يَدَهُ وَسَمَّتَ عَلَيْهِ وَدَعَا لَهُ

٥٢۔١٥ تَطْوِيلُ الْجُمَّةِ
"I came to the Prophet [SAW] and I had long hair. He said: 'It is not good,' and I thought he meant me, so I went and cut my hair. He said: 'I did not mean you, but this is better.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5066)
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَلِي جُمَّةٌ قَالَ «ذُبَابٌ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّمَا يَعْنِينِي فَانْطَلَقْتُ فَأَخَذْتُ مِنْ شِعْرِي» قَالَ «إِنِّي لَمْ أَعْنِكَ وَهَذَا أَحْسَنُ»
52.16 [Machine] The difference
٥٢۔١٦ الْفَرْقُ
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to let his hair hang down (without a parting) and the Mushrikun used to part their hair. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] liked to act in accordance with the People of the Book, in matters where no specific command had been given to him. Then the Messenger of Allah [SAW] parted his hair after that. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5238)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ «يَسْدِلُ شَعْرُهُ وَكَانَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ يَفْرُقُونَ شُعُورَهُمْ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُحِبُّ مُوَافَقَةَ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فِيمَا لَمْ يُؤْمَرْ فِيهِ بِشَيْءٍ ثُمَّ فَرَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ أَرْسَلَهُ مَالِكٌ»
[Machine] He heard him say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ let his hair down; praise be to Allah, and then scattered it afterwards."
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ «سَدَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَاصِيَتَهُ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ ثُمَّ فَرَقَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ»
52.17 [Machine] The contract of the beard
٥٢۔١٧ عَقْدُ اللِّحْيَةِ
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'O Ruwaifi', you may live for a long time after me, so tell the people that whoever ties up his beard, or twists it, or hangs an amulet, or cleans himself (after relieving himself) with animal dung or bones, Muhammad has nothing to do with him.'" أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رُوَيْفِعَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَا رُوَيْفِعُ «لَعَلَّ الْحَيَاةَ سَتَطُولُ بِكَ بَعْدِي فَأَخْبِرِ النَّاسَ أَنَّهُ مَنْ عَقَدَ لِحْيَتَهُ أَوْ تَقَلَّدَ وِتْرًا أَوِ اسْتَنْجَى بِرَجِيعِ دَابَّةٍ أَوْ عَظْمٍ فَإِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ بَرِيءٌ مِنْهُ»
52.18 [Machine] Prohibition of plucking gray hair
٥٢۔١٨ النَّهْيُ عَنْ نَتْفِ الشَّيْبِ
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade plucking gray hairs. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5068)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «نَهَى عَنْ نَتْفِ الشَّيْبِ»
52.19 [Machine] The command to dye.
٥٢۔١٩ الْأَمْرُ بِالْخِضَابِ
[Machine] Indeed, the messenger of Allah ﷺ told us that Yunus ibn Abdul Alaa narrated to us that Ibn Wahb narrated to me from Yunus, from Ibn Shihab, from Abu Salamah, who narrated from Abu Hurairah that the messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the Jews and the Christians do not dye their hair, so be different from them." And Ubaidullah said in his narration, "They do not dye it." 9287 Ishaq ibn Ibrahim told us that Abdur Razzaq told us that Ma'mar narrated to us from Az-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurairah, from the messenger of Allah ﷺ , with a similar hadith.
إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى لَا تَصْبُغُ فَخَالِفُوهُمْ» وَقَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ فِي حَدِيثِهِ «لَا يَصْبُغُونَ» 9287 أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِمِثْلِهِ
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'The Jews and the Christians do not dye their hair, so be different from them and dye your hair.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5071)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى لَا يَصْبُغُونَ فَخَالِفُوا عَلَيْهِمْ فَاصْبُغُوا»
The Prophet ﷺ as saying: Jews and Christians do not dye (their beards), so act differently from them. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4203)
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى لَا يَصْبُغُونَ فَخَالِفُوهُمْ»
The Prophet [SAW] said: "The Jews and Christians do not dye their hair, so be different from them." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5072)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى لَا تَصْبُغُ فَخَالِفُوهُمْ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Dye your gray hair and do not imitate the Jews." Muhammad bin Kunasah contradicted him, narrated it from Hisham bin Urwah, from Uthman bin Urwah, from his father, from Zubair.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «غَيِّرُوا الشَّيْبَ وَلَا تَشَبَّهُوا بِالْيَهُودِ» خَالَفَهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كُنَاسَةَ رَوَاهُ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ
