٥٢۔ كِتَابُ الزِّينَةِ ص ٢
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Change gray hair but do not imitate the Jews.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5074)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «غَيِّرُوا الشَّيْبَ وَلَا تَشَبَّهُوا بِالْيَهُودِ وَكِلَاهُمَا غَيْرُ مَحْفُوظٍ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ»
52.20 [Machine] Prohibition of dyeing with black dye
٥٢۔٢٠ النَّهْيُ عَنِ الْخِضَابِ بِالسَّوَادِ
"Some people will dye their hair black like the breasts of pigeons at the end of time, but they will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5075)
«قَوْمٌ يَخْضِبُونَ بِهَذَا السَّوَادِ آخِرَ الزَّمَانِ كَحَوَاصِلِ الْحَمَامِ لَا يَرِيحُونَ رَائِحَةَ الْجَنَّةِ»
Abu Quhafah was brought on the day of the conquest of Mecca with head and beard while like hyssop. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Change this something, but avoid black. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4204)
أُتِيَ بِأَبِي قُحَافَةَ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ وَرَأْسُهُ وَلِحْيَتُهُ كَالثَّغَامَةِ بَيَاضًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «غَيِّرُوا هَذَا بِشَيْءٍ وَاجْتَنِبُوا السَّوَادَ»
"Abu Quhafah was brought to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and his head and beard were white like the Thaghamah. The Prophet [SAW] said: 'Change this, or dye it.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5242)
أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِأَبِي قُحَافَةَ وَرَأْسُهُ وَلِحْيَتُهُ كَأَنَّهُ ثَغَامَةٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «غَيِّرُوا وَاخْضِبُوا لِحْيَتَهُ»
52.21 [Machine] The meaning of the given Arabic phrase is "Henna and Katam as Hair Dye".
٥٢۔٢١ الْخِضَابُ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ
The Prophet [SAW] said: "The best things with which you can change gray hair are Henna and Katam." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5077)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَفْضَلَ مَا غُيِّرَ بِهِ الشَّمَطَ الْحِنَّاءُ وَالْكَتَمُ»
That the Prophet ﷺ said: "Indeed the best of what the gray may be changed with is Henna' and Katam." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1753)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَحْسَنَ مَا غُيِّرَ بِهِ الشَّيْبُ الْحِنَّاءُ وَالْكَتَمُ»
“The best things with which you change gray hair are henna and Katam.”* (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3622)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ أَحْسَنَ مَا غَيَّرْتُمْ بِهِ الشَّيْبَ الْحِنَّاءُ وَالْكَتَمُ»
"I heard the Prophet [SAW] say: 'Some of the best things with which you can change gray hair are Henna and Katam.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5079)
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ مِنْ أَحْسَنِ مَا غُيِّرَ بِهِ الشَّيْبُ الْحِنَّاءُ وَالْكَتَمُ» خَالَفَهُ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ وَكَهْمَسٌ
That the Prophet ﷺ said: "Indeed the best of what the gray may be changed with is Henna' and Katam." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1753)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَحْسَنُ مَا غُيِّرَ بِهِ الشَّيْبُ الْحِنَّاءُ»
The Prophet ﷺ said: The best things with which grey hair are changed are henna and katam. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4205)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَحْسَنُ مَا غُيِّرَ بِهِ الشَّيْبُ الْحِنَّاءُ وَالْكَتَمُ»
He heard that the Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "The best things with which you can change gray hair are Henna and Katam." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5082)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَحْسَنَ مَا غُيِّرَ بِهِ الشَّيْبُ الْحِنَّاءُ وَالْكَتَمُ»
"My father and I came to the Prophet [SAW] and he had dyed his beard with Henna." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5083)
أَتَيْتُ أَنَا وَأَبِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَكَانَ قَدْ «لَطَّخَ لِحْيَتَهُ بِالْحِنَّاءِ»
"I came to the Prophet [SAW] and I saw that he had dyed his beard with yellow dye." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5084)
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَرَأَيْتُهُ قَدْ لَطَّخَ لِحْيَتَهُ بِالصُّفْرَةِ
52.22 [Machine] Al-Khidhabu bil Sufrati.
٥٢۔٢٢ الْخِضَابُ بِالصُّفْرَةِ
[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dyeing his beard with it, and there was nothing from the dye that was dearer to him than it. He used to dye his garments with it, all of them, even his turban." Abdullah bin Abdullah bin Dinar contradicted him and narrated it from Zaid bin Aslam from Ubaid bin Juraij from Ibn Umar.
«إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَفِّرُ بِهَا لِحْيَتَهُ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الصَّبْغِ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْهَا وَلَقَدْ كَانَ يَصْبُغُ بِهَا ثِيَابَهُ كُلَّهَا حَتَّى عِمَامَتِهِ» خَالَفَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ وَرَوَاهُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
[Machine] I saw the Prophet ﷺ using it. Abu Abdur Rahman said, "And this is more correct than what came before it, and Allah knows best."
رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُصَفِّرُ بِهَا قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ «وَهَذَا أَوْلَى بِالصَّوَابِ مِنَ الَّذِي قَبْلَهُ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ»
The Prophet ﷺ used to wear tanned leather sandals and dye his beard yellow with wars and saffron, and Ibn 'Umar used to do that too. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4210)
«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَلْبَسُ النِّعَالَ السِّبْتِيَّةَ وَيُصَفِّرُ لِحْيَتَهُ بِالْوَرْسِ وَالزَّعْفَرَانِ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ»
That he asked Anas: "Did the Messenger of Allah [SAW] dye his hair? He said: "His gray hair didn't go far, it was only a little at his temples." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5086)
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَهُ هَلْ خَضَّبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَمْ يَبْلُغْ ذَلِكَ إِنَّمَا كَانَ شَيْءٌ فِي صُدْغَيْهِ»
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] did not dye his hair; his gray hair were only a little beneath his lower lip and at his temples, and a little on his head. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5087)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «لَمْ يَكُنْ يُخَضِّبُ إِنَّمَا كَانَ الشَّمَطُ عِنْدَ الْعَنْفَقَةِ يَسِيرًا وَفِي الصُّدْغَيْنِ يَسِيرًا وَفِي الرَّأْسِ يَسِيرًا»
The Prophet of Allah [SAW] disliked ten things: Yellow dye, meaning Khaluq, changing gray hair, dragging one's Izar, wearing gold rings, playing with dice (Ki'ab), (a woman) showing her adornment to people to whom it is not permissible for her to show it, reciting Ruqyah, unless it is with Al-Mu'awidhat (Verses seeking refuge with Allah), hanging amulets, removing to ejaculate in other than the right place, and taking away the milk of an infant boy (by having intercourse with his mother)- but he did not say that this is Haram. أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ عَشْرَ خِلَالٍ الصُّفْرَةُ يَعْنِي الْخَلُوقَ وَتَغْيِيرُ الشَّيْبِ وَجَرُّ الْإِزَارِ وَالتَّخَتُّمُ بِالذَّهَبِ وَالضَّرْبُ بِالْكِعَابِ وَالتَّبَرُّجُ بِالزِّينَةِ لِغَيْرِ مَحِلِّهَا وَالرُّقَى إِلَّا بِالْمُعَوِّذَاتِ وَتَعْلِيقُ التَّمَائِمِ وَعَزْلُ الْمَاءِ بِغَيْرِ مَحِلِّهِ وَفَسَادُ الصَّبِيِّ غَيْرَ مُحَرِّمِهِ
52.23 [Machine] Al-Khidab for women
٥٢۔٢٣ الْخِضَابُ لِلنِّسَاءِ
A woman reached out her hand (to give) a letter to the Prophet [SAW], and he withdrew his hand. She said: "O Messenger of Allah, I reached out my hand (to give you) a letter and you did not take it." He said: "I did not know whether it was the hand of a woman or a man." She said: "It is the hand of a woman." He said: "If you were a woman, you would change your nails (by dyeing them with Henna)." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5089)
أَنَّ «امْرَأَةً مَدَّتْ يَدَهَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِكِتَابٍ فَقَبَضَ يَدَهُ» فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَدَدْتُ يَدِي إِلَيْكَ بِكِتَابٍ فَلَمْ تَأْخُذْهُ قَالَ «إِنِّي لَمْ أَدْرِ يَدُ امْرَأَةٍ هِيَ أَمْ يَدُ رَجُلٍ؟» قَالَتْ بَلْ يَدُ امْرَأَةٍ قَالَ «لَوْ كُنْتِ امْرَأَةً لَغَيَّرْتِ أَظْفَارَكِ بِالْحِنَّاءِ»
52.24 [Machine] Dislike of the smell of henna
٥٢۔٢٤ كَرَاهِيَةُ رِيحِ الْحِنَّاءِ
[Machine] Because my beloved ﷺ used to dislike his own smell, meaning the Prophet ﷺ .
لِأَنَّ حَبِيبِي ﷺ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ رِيحَهُ تَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ»
52.25 [Machine] Al-Natfu
٥٢۔٢٥ النَّتْفُ
my companion went to the mosque before me. I went there after him and sat beside him. He asked me: Did you hear the preaching of AbuRayhanah? I said: No. He said: I heard him say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade ten things: Sharpening the ends of the teeth, tattooing, plucking hair, men sleeping together without an under garment, women sleeping together without an under-garment, men putting silk at the hem of their garments like the Persians, or putting silk on their shoulders like the Persians, plundering, riding on panther skins, wearing signet rings, except in the case of one in authority. Abu Dawud said: The solitary point in this tradition (not supported by other traditions) is the report about the signet-ring. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4049)
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ «خَرَجْتُ أَنَا وَصَاحِبٌ لِي يُسَمَّى أَبَا عَامِرٍ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمَعَافِرِ لِنُصَلِّيَ بِإِيلِيَاءَ وَكَانَ قَاصُّهُمْ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَزْدِ» يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو رَيْحَانَةَ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ قَالَ أَبُو الْحَصِينِ «فَسَبَقَنِي صَاحِبِي إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ ثُمَّ أَدْرَكْتُهُ فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ» فَقَالَ «هَلْ أَدْرَكْتَ قَصَصَ أَبِي رَيْحَانَةَ؟» فَقُلْتُ لَا فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ عَشْرٍ عَنِ الْوَشْرِ وَالْوَشْمِ وَالنَّتْفِ وَعَنْ مُكَامَعَةِ الرَّجُلِ الرَّجُلَ بِغَيْرِ شِعَارٍ وَعَنْ مُكَامَعَةِ الْمَرْأَةِ الْمَرْأَةَ بِغَيْرِ شِعَارٍ وَأَنْ يَجْعَلَ الرَّجُلُ أَسْفَلَ ثِيَابِهِ حَرِيرًا مِثْلَ الْأَعَاجِمِ أَوْ يَجْعَلَ عَلَى مَنْكِبَيْهِ حَرِيرًا أَمْثَالَ الْأَعَاجِمِ وَعَنِ النُّهْبَى وَعَنْ رُكُوبِ النُّمُورِ وَلُبُوسِ الْخَوَاتِيمِ إِلَّا لِذِي سُلْطَانٍ
52.26 [Machine] Al-Wasl Fi Ash-Shi'r
٥٢۔٢٦ الْوَصْلُ فِي الشَّعْرِ
"I heard Mu'awiyah say, when he was on the Minbar in Al-Madinah, and he brought out a hairpiece from his sleeve: 'O people of Al-Madinah, where are your knowledgeable ones? I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbid such things as this, and he said: "The Children of Israel were destroyed when their women started to wear things like this." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5245)
سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ وَأَخْرَجَ مِنْ كُمِّهِ قُصَّةً مِنْ شَعْرٍ فَقَالَ يَا أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ «أَيْنَ عُلَمَاؤُكُمْ؟» سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنْ مِثْلِ هَذِهِ وَقَالَ «إِنَّمَا هَلَكَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ حِينَ اتَّخَذَ نِسَاؤُهُمْ مِثْلَ هَذَا»
[Machine] "I did not see anyone doing it except the Jews." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed about it and called it "al-zoor."
«مَا كُنْتُ أَرَى أَحَدًا يَفْعَلُهُ إِلَّا الْيَهُودَ» إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَلَغَهُ فَسَمَّاهُ «الزُّورَ»
52.27 [Machine] The connection of hair with patching
٥٢۔٢٧ وَصْلُ الشَّعْرِ بِالْخِرَقِ
"O people, the Prophet [SAW] forbade you to give false impressions. He brought a piece of black cloth and threw it in front of them and said: 'This is what women are putting on their heads and covering it.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5247)
أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَاكُمْ عَنِ الزُّورِ قَالَ وَجَاءَ بِخِرْقَةٍ سَوْدَاءَ فَأَلْقَاهَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهُمْ فَقَالَ «هُوَ هَذَا تَجْعَلُهُ الْمَرْأَةُ فِي رَأْسِهَا ثُمَّ تَخْتَمِرُ عَلَيْهِ»
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade giving a false impression." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5092)
إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «نَهَى عَنِ الزُّورِ»
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade giving a false impression, and the false impression of a woman when she adds extra hair to her head. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5248)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الزُّورِ وَالزُّورُ الْمَرْأَةُ تَلُفُّ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا
"I saw Mu'awiyah bin Abi Sufyan on the Minbar, holding a ball of hair such as women use. He said: "What is wrong with Muslim women who put such things (on their heads)? I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: "Any woman who adds hair to her head that is not hers, it is something false, that she is adding to her head." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5093)
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ زَادَتْ فِي رَأْسِهَا شَعْرًا لَيْسَ مِنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ زُورٌ تَزِيدُ فِيهِ»

٥٢۔٢٨ الْوَاصِلَةُ
A woman came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and said: "O Messenger of Allah [SAW], a daughter of mine is going to get married. She got sick and her hair fell out. Is there any sin on me if I give her hair extensions?" He said: "Allah has cursed the woman who affixes hair extensions and the one who has that done." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5250)
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً جَاءَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ «إِنَّ ابْنَةً لِي عُرْسٌ وَإِنَّهَا اشْتَكَتْ فَتَمَزَّقَ شَعْرُهَا فَهَلْ عَلَيَّ جُنَاحٌ إِنْ وَصَلْتُ لَهَا فِيهِ؟» فَقَالَ «لَعَنَ اللهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ»
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed the woman who affixes hair extensions and the woman who has that done. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5094)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «لَعَنَ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ»

٥٢۔٢٩ الْمُؤْتَصِلَةُ
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed the woman who affixes hair extensions and the woman who has that done, the woman who does tattoos and the woman who has that done." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5095)
«لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُؤْتَصِلَةَ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ الْمُؤْتَشِمَةَ» أَرْسَلَهُ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِشَامٍ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed the woman who adds some false hair and the woman who asks for it, the woman who tattoos and the woman who asks for it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4168)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «لَعَنَ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ»
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'May Allah curse the woman who affixes hair extensions and the woman who has that done.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5097)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَعَنَ اللهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ»
A woman came to 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud and said: "I am a woman with little hair, is it alright for me to add extensions to my hair?" He said: "No." She said: "Is it something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah [SAW] or that you find in the Book of Allah?" He said: "No, rather I heard it from the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and I find it in the Book of Allah." And he quoted the Hadith. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5098)
«أَشَيْءٌ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَوْ تَجِدُهُ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ؟» قَالَ بَلْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَجِدُهُ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ
52.30 [Machine] The Masks
٥٢۔٣٠ الْمُتَنَمِّصَاتُ
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed the women who do tattoos and the women who have them done, Al-Mutanammisat, and the women who have their teeth separated for the sake of beauty, those who change (the creation of Allah.)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5099)
لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْوَاشِمَاتِ وَالْمُؤْتَشِمَاتِ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ لِلْحُسْنِ الْمُغَيِّرَاتِ
"May Allah curse Al-Mutanammisat and who have their teeth separated. Shall I not curse those whom the Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed?" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5252)
لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟»
52.31 [Machine] The mention of the difference about Sulaiman ibn Mihran in this narration.
٥٢۔٣١ ذِكْرُ الِاخْتِلَافِ عَلَى سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed women who tattoo themselves, pluck their eyebrows, artificially lengthen their teeth, and those who change the creation of Allah." Hafs bin Ghias went against it and narrated it from Al-Amash from Ibrahim from Abu Ubaidah from Abdullah."
«لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْوَاشِمَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُغَيِّرَاتِ خَلْقَ اللهِ» خَالَفَهُ حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ
"May Allah curse Al-Mutanammisat and their teeth separated, who have tattoos done, changing the creation of Allah." A woman came to him and said: "Are you the one who said such-and-such?" He said: "Why should I not say what the Messenger of Allah [SAW] said?" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5254)
«لَعَنَ اللهُ الْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ وَالْمُؤْتَشِمَاتِ وَالْمُغَيِّرَاتِ خَلْقَ اللهِ» فَأَتَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ فَقَالَتْ «أَنْتَ الَّذِي تَقُولُ كَذَا وَكَذَا» فَقَالَ وَمَا لِي لَا أَقُولُ مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَحَدِيثُ مَنْصُورٍ أَوْلَى بِالصَّوَابِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ
"May Allah curse Al-Mutanammisat and who have their teeth separated. Shall I not curse those whom the Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed?" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5252)
لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟»
"Abdullah said: 'The women who have their teeth separated..." and he quoted the Hadith.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5100)
«لَعَنَ اللهُ الْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ» وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ
"I heard 'Aishah say: 'The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade the woman who does tattoos and the woman who has that done, the woman who affixes hair extensions and the woman who has that done, An-Namisah (the one who does the plucking) and Al-Mutanammisah (the one who has it done).'" سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْوَاشِمَةِ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةِ وَالْوَاصِلَةِ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةِ وَالنَّامِصَةِ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَةِ [340] الْمُؤتَشِمَاتِ»

٥٢۔٣٢ وَذِكْرُ اخْتِلَافِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ وَالشَّعْبِيِّ عَلَى الْحَارِثِ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ
"The one who consumes Riba, the one who pays it, and the one who writes it down, if they know that it is Riba; the woman who does tattoos and the woman who has that done for the purpose of beautification; the one who withholds Sadaqah (Zakah); and the one who reverts to the life of a Bedouin after having emigrated- they will (all) be cursed upon the tongue of Muhammad [SAW] on the Day of Resurrection." «آكِلُ الرِّبَا وَمُوكِلُهُ وَكَاتِبُهُ إِذَا عَلِمُوا ذَلِكَ وَالْوَاشِمَةُ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةُ لِلْحُسْنِ وَلَاوِي الصَّدَقَةِ وَالْمُرْتَدُّ أَعْرَابِيًّا بَعْدَ الْهِجْرَةِ مَلْعُونُونَ عَلَى لِسَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed the one who consumes Riba, the one who pays it, the one who writes it down, and the one who withholds Sadaqah (Zakah). And he used to forbid wailing (in mourning for the dead). (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5103)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «لَعَنَ آكِلَ الرِّبَا وَمُوكِلَهُ وَكَاتِبَهُ وَمَانِعَ الصَّدَقَةِ وَكَانَ يَنْهَى عَنِ النَّوْحِ» أَرْسَلَهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَوْنٍ وَعَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ
Muhammad ﷺ cursed the one who consumes riba, the one who pays it, the one who writes it down, the one who witnesses it, the woman who does tattoos and the woman who gets tattoos done. Ibn ‘Awn said: Except in the case of illness? He said: Yes. [And he continued:]... the one who marries a woman and divorces her so that she becomes permissible for her first husband, and the one for whom that is done, and the one who withholds zakah. And he forbade wailing (for the dead). He did not say curse. I said: Who told you? He said: al-Harith al-A’war al-Hamdani. (Using translation from Aḥmad 1120)
«لَعَنَ مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ آكِلَ الرِّبَا وَمُوكِلَهُ وَشَاهِدَهُ وَكَاتِبَهُ وَالْوَاشِمَةُ وَالْمُتَوَشِّمَةُ» قَالَ قُلْتُ «إِلَّا مِنْ دَاءٍ» قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَالْمُحَلِّلُ وَالْمُحَلَّلُ لَهُ وَمَانِعُ الصَّدَقَةِ وَكَانَ يَنْهَى عَنِ النَّوْحِ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ لَعَنَ»
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed the one who consumes riba, the one who pays it, the two who witness it, the one who writes it down, the woman who does tattoos and the woman who gets tattoos done for adornment, the one who withholds zakah, the one who marries a woman and divorces her so that she becomes permissible for her first husband, and the one for whom that is done, And he forbade wailing (for the deceased). لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ آكِلَ الرِّبَا وَمُوكِلَهُ وَكَاتِبَهُ وَشَاهِدَيْهِ وَالْمُحَلِّلَ وَالْمُحَلَّلَ لَهُ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمَوْشُومَةَ وَنَهَى عَنِ النَّوْحِ وَلَمْ يَلْعَنْ صَاحِبَهُ
"A woman who did tattoos was brought to 'Umar and he said: 'I adjure you by Allah, did any one among you hear (anything from) the Messenger of Allah [SAW]?' Abu Hurairah said: "I stood up and said: 'O Commander of the Believers! I heard him (say something).' He said: 'What did you hear?' I said: 'I heard him say: Do not do tattoos and do not have tattoos done.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5106)
سَمِعَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟» قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنَا سَمِعْتُهُ قَالَ «فَمَا سَمِعْتَهُ؟» فَقُلْتُ «سَمِعْتُهُ» يَقُولُ «لَا تَشِمْنَ وَلَا تَسْتَوْشِمْنَ»

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يَلْعَنُ الْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ وَالْمُتَوَشِّمَاتِ اللَّائِي يُغَيِّرْنَ خَلْقَ اللهِ»

٥٢۔٣٤ الْوَشْرُ
He and a companion of his used to stay with Abu Raihanah to learn good things from him. He said: "One day my companion came and told me that he heard Abu Raihanah say: 'The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade filing (the teeth), tattoos, and plucking hairs.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5110)
أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ هُوَ وَصَاحِبٌ لَهُ يَلْزَمَانِ أَبَا رَيْحَانَةَ يَتَعَلَّمَانِ مِنْهُ خَيْرًا قَالَ «فَحَضَرَ صَاحِبِي يَوْمًا وَلَمْ أَحْضُرْ فَأَخْبَرَنِي صَاحِبِي أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا رَيْحَانَةَ» يَقُولُ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حَرَّمَ الْوَشْرَ وَالْوَشْمَ وَالنَّتْفَ»
