[Machine] I came with Al-Khattami to the Prophet ﷺ while he was intending to leave for the Battle of Badr. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I want to go out with you." He would clench his hand and say, "I consider you insignificant and I do not know how you will behave when you meet the enemy." I said, "Do you know that I can throw arrows?" So, he admitted me and I did not witness the Battle of Badr.
"I was an orphan in the care of my grandfather Rafi' bin Khadij. I reached puberty and became a man, and I performed Hajj with him. My brother 'Imran bin Sahl bin Rafi' bin Khadij came and said: 'O my father, we have leased our land to so and so (a woman) for two hundred Dirhams.' He said: 'O my son, leave that (do not do it), for Allah will give you other provision. The Messenger of Allah forbade leasing land.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3926)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The love that is inherited among the people of Islam."
and from Rafi bin Khadij, the two of them said - :"Abdullah bin Sahl bin Zaid and Muhayysah bin Mas'ud went out until when they reached Khaibar, they went their separate ways. Then Muhayysah found 'Abdullah bin Sahl slain, so he buried him. Then he came to the Mesenger of Allah, along with Huwayysah bin Mas'ud and 'Abdur-Rahman bin Sahl, who was the youngest of them, 'Abdur-Rahman started to speak before his two companions, but the Messenger of Allah said to him: "Let the clear speak first." So he fell silent and his two companions spoke, then he spoke with them. They told the Messenger of Allah about the killing of 'Abdullah bin Sahl, and he said to them: "Will you swear fifty oaths, then you will receive compensation, or be entitled to retaliate?" They said: "How can we swear an oath when we did not witness what happened?" he said: "Then can the Jews swear fifty oaths declaring their innocence?" They said: "How can we accept the oath of a disbelieving people?" When the Messenger of Allah saw that, he paid the blood money (himself). (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4712)
[Machine] Abu Abdurrahman, the freed slave of the Banu Tamim tribe, narrated to me from Sa'eed Al-Maqburi, who narrated from Rafee' ibn Khadeej, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to tie a thread on his ring and would remember Allah with it."
[Machine] Men from the tribe of Ghnamawe had a great reverence and commitment to recite the Qur'an and do good deeds that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ found admirable. One day, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out and there were men among us sitting with a group. He said, "One of these men will be in Hellfire." Rafi' said, "I looked at the people and saw Abu Huraira Al-Dawsi, Abu Arwa Al-Dawsi, and Tufayl ibn Amr Al-Dawsi, along with men from the tribe of Ghnamawe. I started looking and wondering, and I said, 'Who is this unfortunate person?' When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away, Benu Hanifa asked, 'What happened to the men of Ghnamawe?' They replied, 'He (Men from Ghnamawe) was the one who testified for Musaylimah against the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , claiming that he shared in his authority after him.' I asked, 'What did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say?' They replied, 'It is true.' And the people said, 'They were like two rams fighting, and we loved them just like we loved our own ram.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Badr, "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if a child were born in the depth of faith and lived for forty years performing all the acts of obedience to Allah and avoiding all sins until he reaches old age or until he does not know anything after knowledge, none of you would attain to this night." And he said, "Indeed, the angels who witnessed the Battle of Badr have a superiority over those who came after them."
Rafi' had cultivated a land. The Prophet ﷺ passed him when he was watering it. So he asked him: To whom does the crop belong, and to whom does the land belong? He replied: The crop is mine for my seed and labour. The half (of the crop) is mine and the half for so-and-so. He said: You conducted usurious transaction. Return the land to its owner and take your wages and cost. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3402)
[Machine] The Prophet said, "The people have their positions, and my Companions have their positions." Then Zaid bin Thabit and Rifa'ah bin Khadeej said, "He spoke the truth while they were with Marwan bin Al-Hakam."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ would not get up from a gathering until he said, "Glory be to You, O Allah, and I praise You. I seek Your forgiveness and I turn to You in repentance." Then he would say, "Indeed, this is an expiation for whatever occurs in the gathering."
[Machine] Rafi bin Khadeej said, "Our Prophet ﷺ prohibited us from plowing the land."
We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and we had on our saddles and camels garments consisting of red warp of wool. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do I not see that red colour has dominated you. We then got up quickly on account of this saying of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and some of our camels ran away. We then took the garments and withdrew them. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4070)
[Machine] O speaker, I see that you have settled in Mecca and mentioned its virtue, and what you have not mentioned of its virtue is even greater. You did not mention Medina, and indeed I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Medina is better than Mecca."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The hand of the giver is higher than the hand of the taker until the Day of Judgment."

[Machine] He left behind when he died, a female servant, a barber, and a piece of land. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited taking advantage of the female servant's earnings. He said regarding the barber, "If he harms someone, heal him." And he said regarding the land, "Cultivate it."
[Machine] Rifa'ah died during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and left behind a servant [who was] a cupper, a fertile camel, and a piece of land. The Prophet said, "Do not eat from the earnings of the servant, for I fear that she may seek to satisfy her sexual desire [with her earnings]."

A man of the Ansar was killed at Khaybar and his relatives went to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that to him. He asked: Have you two witnesses who can testify to the murderer of your friend? They replied: Messenger of Allah! there was not a single Muslim present, but only Jews who sometimes have the audacity to do even greater crimes than this. He said: Then choose fifty of them and demand that they take an oath; but they refused and the Prophet ﷺ paid the blood-wit himself. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4524)

What are you doing? They said: We are grafting them, whereupon he said: It may perhaps be good for you if you do not do that, so they abandoned this practice (and the date-palms) began to yield less fruit.
