11. Chapter of Rā (Male)
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: Allah said to Dawud ﷺ , "Build a house for Me on earth." So Dawud built a house for himself before building the house he was commanded to. Then Allah inspired to him, "O Dawud, you have established your house before My house." Dawud said, "O Lord, is this what You have decreed for the one who has authority and takes possession, and then starts building the mosque?" When the walls were completed, two-thirds of the structure collapsed. He complained to Allah about it, and Allah revealed to him, "It is not appropriate for you to build a house for Me because of the bloodshed that has occurred at your hands." Dawud asked, "O Lord, was it not in accordance with Your desires and love?" Allah replied, "Yes, but they are My servants and I am more merciful towards them. This has saddened you, but fear not, I will fulfill the construction through the hands of your son Sulaiman." So, when Dawud died, Sulaiman took charge of the construction. When it was completed, he gathered the people for prayers and sacrificed animals. Allah then revealed to him, "I see the joy of my house being built, ask me and I will grant you three characteristics: a ruling that coincides with your ruling, sovereignty that no one after you can possess, and whoever enters this house desiring only to pray in it will have their sins forgiven as on the day they were born." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "As for two of them, he was granted them, and I hope that he was also granted the third."
[Machine] In the year 46, Ruwaif' was appointed over Tripoli.
[Machine] On the authority of Ruwaifi' bin Thabit, he said during the Battle of Uhud: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said during the Battle of Khaybar: 'Indeed, it has reached me that you people transact with half or two-thirds of the weight, and indeed, it is not permissible except to transact the weight with its weight, and the measure with its measure.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever says, 'O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and place him in the highest station of proximity to You on the Day of Judgment,' my intercession for him will be guaranteed."
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever says, 'O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and place him in the highest station of Paradise near You on the Day of Judgment,' I shall intercede for him."
[Machine] It is said that Jabrah stood up and Ruwaif took the position of a speaker among us and said, "I only stand before you to convey what I heard from the Messenger of Allah. He stood among us on the day of Hunayn when we had just won the battle. He said, 'Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should not let his water container be used by anyone else, and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should not take any garment from the spoils of war until it is distributed. And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should not sell any spoils of war until it is divided. And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should not ride a horse or camel that belongs to the Muslims until it is tamed. And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, he should not wear a garment that belongs to the Muslims until he earns it."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not ride on a horse or a camel that is a part of the spoils of war until he has given it back as part of the spoils, and he should not wear any clothing from the spoils until he has returned it as part of the spoils."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should not ride upon a stolen animal until he returns it to the rightful owners, nor wear stolen clothing until he returns it to the rightful owners."
[Machine] We have the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Hunayn, where he said, "It is not permissible for a person who believes in Allah and the Last Day to sell spoils of war until they are divided and it is not permissible for a person who believes in Allah and the Last Day to ride a mount taken as a share from the Muslims until he tames it and it is not permissible for him to wear a garment until he finishes making it."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "I forbid taking of booty prior to its distribution, a man giving his wife a divorce before he touches her, and wearing of clothing before it is sewn and then returning it to the booty."
[Machine] Those of you who have been affected by this captivity, do not approach them until they have had their menstrual cycle. For I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "A man should not give his water to someone else's child."
[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , he said, "It is not permissible for anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day, or for anyone who believes in Allah and the Last Day, to withhold his water from his child or any other person."
[Machine] "I heard the Messenger of Allah prohibit stepping on pregnant women until they give birth and he said, 'Indeed, one of you may increase in his hearing and vision.' And to not step on female servants until they have purified themselves."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah prohibit treading on the pregnant woman until she gives birth, and he said, "Indeed, one of you may increase in their hearing and sight." And he prohibited treading on the female slaves until they are purified.
Shayban al-Qatbani reported that Maslamah ibn Mukhallad made Ruwayfi' ibn Thabit the governor of the lower parts (of Egypt). He added: We travelled with him from Kum Sharik to Alqamah or from Alqamah to Kum Sharik (the narrator doubts) for Alqam. Ruwayfi' said: Any one of us would borrow a camel during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ from the other, on condition that he would give him half the booty, and the other half he would retain himself. Further, one of us received an arrowhead and a feather, and the other an arrow-shaft as a share from the booty. He then reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: You may live for a long time after I am gone, Ruwayfi', so, tell people that if anyone ties his beard or wears round his neck a string to ward off the evil eye, or cleanses himself with animal dung or bone, Muhammad has nothing to do with him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 36)
[Machine] Dates and fresh dates were brought close to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and they ate from them until there was nothing left but the pits. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do you know what this is?" They said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "You are getting rid of the good until nothing is left of it from you except this."
