11. Chapter of Rā (Male)
١١۔ بَابُ الرَّاءِ
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The worst of earnings arte the gift of a female fornicator, the price of a dog and the earnings of a cupper."" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4294)
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهَِ يَقُولُ «شَرُّ الْكَسْبِ كَسْبُ الْحَجَّامِ وَثَمَنُ الْكَلْبِ وَمَهْرُ الْبَغِيِّ»
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade renting farmlands. So Abdullah ibn Umar stopped renting it, even though he used to rent it before that. Az-Zuhri said, 'So I asked Salim, 'Do you rent it?' He said, 'Yes.' So I asked, 'Where is the hadith of Rafe ibn Khadij?' Salim said, 'Rafe was stricter upon himself.'"
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ كَرْيِ الْمَزَارِعِ» فَتَرَكَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ كِرَاءَهَا وَقَدْ كَانَ يُكْرِيهَا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ فَقُلْتُ لِسَالِمٍ أَتَكْرِيهَا أَنْتَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ فَأَيْنَ حَدِيثُ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ؟ قَالَ سَالِمٌ إِنَّ رَافِعًا أَكْثَرَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ
It was narrated from Nafi' that Rafi' bin Khadij told 'Abdullah bin 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah forbade leasing arable land. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3914)
