Then my father (Abu Talib) sat down and I squeezed through the crowd until I reached the mule. I held its reins and placed my hand on its knee, wiping it until I reached its foot. Then I put my palm between the shoe and the foot, and I felt the coolness of his feet on my hand.' And the wording is from the narration of Al-Umawi."
I was a boy. I used to throw stones at the palm-trees of the Ansar. So I was brought to the Prophet ﷺ who said: O boy, why do you throw stones at the palm-trees? I said: eat (dates). He said: Do not throw stones at the palm trees, but eat what falls beneath them. He then wiped his head and said: O Allah, fill his belly. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2622)
"I was throwing stones at a date-palm belonging to some of the Ansar. They took me along with them to the Prophet ﷺ. He said: "O Rafi'! Why were you throwing stones at their date-palm?'" He said: "I said: 'Out of hunger, O Messenger of Allah! He said: 'Do not throw stones at them, eat what falls. May Allah fill you and quench your thirst.'" This Hadith is Hasan Gharib Sahih. (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1288)
11.50 [Machine] Rafi ibn Amr al-Ghifari
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There will be a group from my nation who will recite the Quran, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will leave the religion like an arrow leaves the bow. They will not return to it, and they are the worst of creation and creatures." Sulaiman said, "I believe he said, 'They have the mark of shaving their heads'." Ibn As-Samit said, "I met Rafa' ibn 'Amr, the brother of Hakam ibn 'Amr Al-Ghifari and asked him about a hadith I heard from Abu Dharr, who said such and such. So I mentioned this hadith to him." He said, "What is it that amazed you about this when I heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?"
[Machine] A man named Rāfiʿ ibn al-Muʿalla al-Anṣāri from the tribe of Khubayb ibn ʿAbd Ḥāritha ibn Mālik told me.

[Machine] About Ibn Shihab, "In the naming of the one who witnessed the Battle of Badr from the Ansar, then from the Banu Zurayq, Rafe' ibn al-Mu'alla ibn Lawzan, who was martyred on the day of Badr."
[Machine] "Rafi' bin Umaira al-Sanbasi used to feed the people of three mosques and give them the qurtumah drink, which is barley, and he had nothing except a shirt that was for the house and for Fridays."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , sent Amr ibn al-As with the army of Dhat as-Salsal. Abu Bakr and Umar were also sent with him, as well as their companions, and they set out until they reached the mountain of Tayyih. Amr ibn al-As said, "Look for a man who knows the way." They replied, "We only know Rafi' ibn Amr, who used to be a bandit in the time of ignorance (pre-Islamic era)" So I asked Tariq, "What does 'Rabil' mean?" He said, "It is a thief who raids people alone and robs them." Rafi' then said, "When we completed our raids and reached the place we had left, I noticed Abu Bakr and went to him. I said, 'O Companion of the Sandals, I have noticed you among your companions. Bring me something that if I learn it, I will be like you.' He said, 'Do you memorize your five fingers?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Do you bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, and establish the five daily prayers, give Zakat if you have wealth, perform Hajj, and fast during Ramadan?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'And something else, you should not be commanded by two people.' I asked, 'Would authority be limited to those who were present at Badr?' He replied, 'It is soon to spread until it reaches you and whoever is below you. When Allah sent His Prophet, people entered Islam, some of whom were guided by Allah, while others were forced by the sword. They are the neighbors of Allah, living in His protection. If a man is a ruler and the people are oppressed, but he does not take revenge on behalf of some of them from others, then Allah will take revenge on him. Indeed, a man can have a sheep taken by his neighbor and he will remain angry on behalf of his neighbor. And Allah is behind (i.e. in support of) the neighbor.' Rafi' said, 'I stayed for a year, and then Abu Bakr was appointed as Caliph. So I went to him and said, 'I am Rafi', I met you on such and such a day and at such and such a place.' He said, 'I remember.' I said, 'You forbade me from ruling (in reference to the incident when he was a bandit), but then you rode with a greater nation than that of Muhammad, ﷺ .' He said, 'Yes, and whoever does not stand with them with the Book of Allah has the curse of Allah upon him," meaning the curse of Allah.

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: Allah said to Dawud ﷺ , "Build a house for Me on earth." So Dawud built a house for himself before building the house he was commanded to. Then Allah inspired to him, "O Dawud, you have established your house before My house." Dawud said, "O Lord, is this what You have decreed for the one who has authority and takes possession, and then starts building the mosque?" When the walls were completed, two-thirds of the structure collapsed. He complained to Allah about it, and Allah revealed to him, "It is not appropriate for you to build a house for Me because of the bloodshed that has occurred at your hands." Dawud asked, "O Lord, was it not in accordance with Your desires and love?" Allah replied, "Yes, but they are My servants and I am more merciful towards them. This has saddened you, but fear not, I will fulfill the construction through the hands of your son Sulaiman." So, when Dawud died, Sulaiman took charge of the construction. When it was completed, he gathered the people for prayers and sacrificed animals. Allah then revealed to him, "I see the joy of my house being built, ask me and I will grant you three characteristics: a ruling that coincides with your ruling, sovereignty that no one after you can possess, and whoever enters this house desiring only to pray in it will have their sins forgiven as on the day they were born." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "As for two of them, he was granted them, and I hope that he was also granted the third."

Shayban al-Qatbani reported that Maslamah ibn Mukhallad made Ruwayfi' ibn Thabit the governor of the lower parts (of Egypt). He added: We travelled with him from Kum Sharik to Alqamah or from Alqamah to Kum Sharik (the narrator doubts) for Alqam. Ruwayfi' said: Any one of us would borrow a camel during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ from the other, on condition that he would give him half the booty, and the other half he would retain himself. Further, one of us received an arrowhead and a feather, and the other an arrow-shaft as a share from the booty. He then reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: You may live for a long time after I am gone, Ruwayfi', so, tell people that if anyone ties his beard or wears round his neck a string to ward off the evil eye, or cleanses himself with animal dung or bone, Muhammad has nothing to do with him.
