I visited the house of al-Hakam b. Ayyub along with my grandfather Anas b. Milik, (and there) some people had made a hen a target and were shooting arrows at her. Thereupon Asas said that Messenger of Allah ﷺ had forbidden tying of the animals (and making them the targets of arrows, etc.).

أَنَسٌ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ تُصْبَرَ الْبَهَائِمُ

The Prophet ﷺ said: “The Hour will not be established until people boast about (their) mosques.”

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ: «لاَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ»

I entered upon al-Hakam b. Ayyub along with Anas. He saw some youths or boys who had set up a hen and shooting at it. Anas said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade to kill an animal in confinement.

أَنَسٌ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ تُصْبَرَ الْبَهَائِمُ

"One of the portents of the Hour will be that people will show off in building Masjids."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مِنْ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ أَنْ يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ

'The Messenger of Allah forbade using animals as targets;'

دَخَلْتُ مَعَ أَنَسٍ عَلَى الْحَكَمِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَيُّوبَ فَإِذَا أُنَاسٌ يَرْمُونَ دَجَاجَةً فِي دَارِ الأَمِيرِ فَقَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ تُصْبَرَ الْبَهَائِمُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The Hour will not begin until the people compete in (building) mosques.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade tying up animals.”

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَبْرِ الْبَهَائِمِ

My nephew, leave him for he defended Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Muslim 2487a)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

The Prophet ﷺ said: The Last Hour will not come until people vie with one another about mosques. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 449)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ»

"I recited to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ (Surat) An-Najm and he did not prostrate in it." (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1404)

«قَرَأْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَالنَّجْمِ فَلَمْ يَسْجُدْ فِيهَا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "The Hour will not come until people compete with each other in constructing buildings."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَطَاوَلَ النَّاسُ بِالْبُنْيَانِ

[AI] I heard Anas ibn Malik saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade watering the animals.

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ تُصْبَرَ الْبَهَائِمُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The Hour will not begin until the people compete in (building) mosques.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 739)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ

"The Hour (Resurrection) will not occur as long as anyone says: 'Allah, Allah.'" (Using translation from Muslim 148b)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ عَلَى أَحَدٍ يَقُولُ اللهُ اللهُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى لَا يُقَالَ فِي الْأَرْضِ اللهَ اللهَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى لَا يُقَالَ فِي الْأَرْضِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The Hour will not begin until the people compete in (building) mosques.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 739)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited passing an unsheathed sword." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2163)

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُتَعَاطَى السَّيْفُ مَسْلُولًا

My nephew, leave him for he defended Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Muslim 2487a)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The prescribed punishments (Hudud) should not be carried out in mosques, and they should not be sought therein."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تُقَامُ الْحُدُودُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ وَلَا يُسْتَقَادُ فِيهَا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Hour will not come except on the worst of people."

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلَّا عَلَى حُثَالَةِ النَّاسِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the fee of a prostitute.

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ مَهْرِ الْبَغِيِّ.

This tradition has also been transmitted by Sa'd (b. Abi Waqqas) from the Prophet ﷺ in a similar manner through a different chain of narrators. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1470)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said the likes of it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مِثْلَهُ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited passing an unsheathed sword." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2163)

«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُتَعَاطَى السَّيْفُ مَسْلُولًا»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The Hour (Day of Judgment) will not come until the pilgrimage to the Kaaba is not performed."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى لَا يُحَجَّ الْبَيْتُ»

"The Hour will not be established until 'Allah, Allah is not said on the earth." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2207)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى لَا يُقَالَ فِي الْأَرْضِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ»

This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Aḥmad 1372)

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The Hour will not begin until the people compete in (building) mosques.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 739)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ» *

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I was not commanded to construct mosques."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا أُمِرْتُ بِتَشْيِيدِ الْمَسَاجِدِ»

"I recited to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ (Surat) An-Najm and he did not prostrate in it." (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1404)

«قَرَأْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ النَّجْمَ فَلَمْ يَسْجُدْ»

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade writing anything on graves.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1563)

«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُبْنَى عَلَى الْقَبْرِ»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade meeting traders on the way." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2179)

«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ تَلَقِّي الْبُيُوعِ»

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "The Hour will not come until the House (Kaaba) no longer receives pilgrims."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى لَا يُحَجَّ الْبَيْتَ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The Hour will not come until there are sinking (of the earth), transformation (of people into animals), and pelting (with stones) in my Ummah (nation)."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِي أُمَّتِي خَسْفٌ وَمَسْخٌ وَقَذْفٌ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The Hour will not begin until the people compete in (building) mosques.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 739)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ» *

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "The Hour will not come until a single prostration is better than the entire world and whatever is in it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَكُونَ السَّجْدَةُ الْوَاحِدَةُ خَيْرًا مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا»

"The Hour (Resurrection) will not occur until 'Allah, Allah' is not said on earth." (Using translation from Muslim 148a)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ بِالْمَسَاجِدِ»

“Do not carry out the legal punishment in the mosque.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2599)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تُقَامُ الْحُدُودُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibiting the castration of animals.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يَنْهَى عَنْ صَبْرِ الْبَهِيمَةِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding the patience with animals.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يَنْهَى عَنْ صَبْرِ الْبَهِيمَةِ»
