[Machine] He witnessed with the Prophet ﷺ while he was besieged by the people of Taif, so he prayed the Asr prayer with us, as if a person had thrown his arrow and saw the targets of the arrow.  

أَنَّهُ شَاهَدَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُحَاصِرٌ لِأَهْلِ الطَّائِفِ فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي بِنَا صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ حِينًا لَوْ أَنَّ إِنْسَانًا رَمَى بِنَبْلِهِ أَبْصَرَ مَوَاقِعَ النَّبْلِ  

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood amongst the people during the Farewell Pilgrimage and said, "There is no prophet after me, and no nation after you, so worship your Lord, establish your five prayers, fast your month, and obey the rulers of your affairs. You will enter the Paradise of your Lord."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَامَ فِي النَّاسِ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فَقَالَ «لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي وَلَا أُمَّةَ بَعْدَكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوا رَبَّكُمْ وَأَقِيمُوا خَمْسَكُمْ وَصُومُوا شَهْرَكُمْ وَأَطِيعُوا وُلَاةَ أَمْرِكُمْ تَدْخُلُوا جَنَّةَ رَبِّكُمْ»  

[Machine] I asked the Prophet ﷺ about fasting. He said, "Fast one day of the month." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have the ability to do more." He said, "Fast two days of the month." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, increase me." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Increase me, increase me. Fast three days of every month."  

سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ الصَّوْمِ؟ فَقَالَ «صُمْ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ يَوْمًا» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَقْوَى قَالَ «صُمْ يَوْمَيْنِ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ» قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ زِدْنِي قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «زِدْنِي زِدْنِي صُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ»  

[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ , he said to him, "What held you back?" He replied, "I recited this verse: O you who have believed, upon you is [responsibility for] yourselves. Those who have gone astray will not harm you when you have been guided." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Those who have gone astray from the disbelievers will not harm you when you have been guided."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا حَبَسَكَ؟» قَالَ قَرَأْتُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ} قَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the complete righteousness?" He said, "To do in secret the deeds of the openly apparent."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا تَمَامُ الْبِرِّ؟ قَالَ «أَنْ تَعْمَلَ فِي السِّرِّ عَمَلَ الْعَلَانِيَةِ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: Allah, the Most Blessed and High, said, "Whoever is not pleased with My decree and does not have patience with My afflictions, then let him seek a Lord other than Me."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى «مَنْ لَمْ يَرْضَ بِقَضَائِي وَيَصْبِرْ عَلَى بَلَائِي فَلْيَلْتَمِسْ رَبًّا سِوَايَ»  

[Machine] I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , when he approached us and said, "Whoever would like to wake up without falling ill?" So we started responding, "We do, O Messenger of Allah." He then made it evident on his face and said, "Do you like to be like pampered donkeys?" They said, "No, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Don't you like to be people of trials and atonements?" By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Abu al-Qasim, indeed Allah tests a believer with trials, and there is nothing that befalls him except for his honor. Indeed, Allah has raised him to a status that cannot be reached by any of his deeds, so He tests him with trials that will elevate him to that level.  

كُنْتُ جَالِسًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ «مَنْ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُصْبِحَ فَلَا يَسْقَمُ؟» فَابْتَدَأَنْاهُ فَقُلْنَا نَحْنُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ فَعَرَفْنَاهَا فِي وَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ «أَتُحِبُّونَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا كَالْحَمِيرِ الصِّيالَةِ؟» قَالُوا لَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا أَصْحَابَ بَلَاءٍ وَأَصْحَابَ كَفَّارَاتٍ؟ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ اللهَ لَيَبْتَلِيَ الْمُؤْمِنَ بِالْبَلَاءِ وَمَا يَبْتَلِيهِ بِهِ إِلَّا لِكَرَامَتِهِ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ أَنْزَلَهُ مَنْزِلَةً لَمْ يَبْلُغْهَا بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ فَيَبْتَلِيهِ مِنَ الْبَلَاءِ مَا يُبَلِّغُهُ تِلْكَ الدَّرَجَةَ»  

[Machine] "He has both a camel and a female camel. Give me your camel, I will perform Hajj on it," she said. He replied, "It is dedicated for the sake of Allah." She said, "If it is for the sake of Allah, let me perform Hajj on it." He said, "No, I cannot give preference to anyone over myself." She said, "Then give me your female camel and perform Hajj on your camel." He said, "I cannot prioritize anyone over myself." She said, "Then give me from your wealth." He replied, "I do not have any surplus to give, and I leave for you if I had. I would have given it to you." She said, "If you do as you did, then convey my greetings to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when you meet him, and tell him what I said to you." So when he met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he conveyed the greetings to him and informed him of what she had said. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Umm Talik has spoken the truth. If you had given her your camel, it would have been for the sake of Allah, and if you had given her your female camel, it would have been for the sake of Allah, and if you had given her from your wealth, Allah would have fulfilled it for you." He said: I said, O Messenger of Allah! What is equivalent to Hajj? He said: "An Umrah in Ramadan."  

لَهُ وَلَهُ جَمَلٌ وَنَاقَةٌ أَعْطِنِي جَمَلَكَ أَحُجُّ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ هُوَ حَبِيسٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ أَنْ أَحُجَّ عَلَيْهِ قَالَتْ فَأَعْطِنِي النَّاقَةَ وَحُجَّ عَلَى جَمَلِكَ قَالَ لَا أُوثِرُ عَلَى نَفْسِي أَحَدًا قَالَتْ فَأَعْطِنِي مِنْ نَفَقَتِكَ فَقَالَ مَا عِنْدِي فَضْلٌ عَمَّا أَخْرَجُ بِهِ وَأَدَعُ لَكُمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ مَعِي لَأَعْطَيْتُكِ قَالَتْ فَإِذَا فَعَلْتَ مَا فَعَلْتَ فَأَقْرِئْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا لَقِيتُهُ وَقُلْ لَهُ الَّذِي قُلْتُ لَكَ فَلَمَّا لَقِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَقْرَأَهُ مِنْهَا السَّلَامَ وَأَخْبَرَهُ بِالَّذِي قَالَتْ لَهُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَدَقَتْ أُمُّ طَلِيقٍ لَوْ أَعْطَيْتَهَا جَمَلَكَ كَانَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَلَوْ أَعْطَيْتَهَا نَاقَتَكَ كَانَتْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَلَوْ أَعْطَيْتَهَا مِنْ نَفَقَتِكَ أَخْلَفَهَا اللهُ لَكَ» قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَمَا يَعْدِلُ بِحَجٍّ؟ قَالَ «عُمْرَةٌ فِي رَمَضَانَ»  

[Machine] On the day of Hunayn, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not look in any direction except that he saw Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith fighting. So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, Abu Sufyan is better from my family or from the best of my family."  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ لَا يَنْظُرُ فِي نَاحِيَةٍ إِلَّا رَأَى أَبَا سُفْيَانَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ يُقَاتِلُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ خَيْرُ أَهْلِي أَوْ مِنْ خَيْرِ أَهْلِي»  

[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon and said, "Verily, a man is favored by his Lord to live in this world as long as he wishes to live in it, eating from it, until he meets his Lord. So he chooses to meet his Lord." Abu Bakr began to weep, and the companions of the messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Are you not amazed by this sheikh?" The messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned a righteous man who was favored by his Lord between the world and meeting his Lord, so he chose to meet his Lord. Abu Bakr, being the most knowledgeable among them, said, "I would sacrifice myself for you, O Messenger of Allah, with my wealth and my children." The messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one among the people has done us a favor by his companionship and the possession of his hand more than Ibn Abi Quhafah. And if I were to take a close friend, I would have taken Ibn Abi Quhafah, but he is my brother and a supporter of faith. And your close friend is Allah."  

خَطَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ رَجُلًا خَيَّرَهُ رَبُّهُ أَنْ يَعِيشَ فِي الدُّنْيَا مَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَعِيشَ مِنْهَا يَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا وَبَيْنَ لِقَاءِ رَبِّهِ فَاخْتَارَ لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ» فَبَكَى أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَقَالَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَلَا تَعْجَبُونَ مِنْ هَذَا الشَّيْخِ؟ ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا صَالِحًا خَيَّرَهُ رَبُّهُ بَيْنَ الدُّنْيَا وَبَيْنَ لِقَاءِ رَبِّهِ فَاخْتَارَ لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَعْلَمَهُمْ بِمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ نَفْدِيكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بِأَمْوَالِنَا وَأَبْنَائِنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا مِنَ النَّاسِ أَحَدٌ أَمِنَ عَلَيْنَا فِي صُحْبَتِهِ وَذَاتَ يَدِهِ مِنِ ابْنِ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ وَلَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا لَاتَّخَذْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ وَلَكِنْ وَدَّ وَأَخَا إِيمَانٍ وَإِنْ صَاحَبَكُمْ خَلِيلُ اللهِ»  

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ forbade his companions from using their well on the day of the Hajr, so Dhu al-Ajin threw his dough and Dhu al-Hays threw his reservoir."  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى أَصْحَابَهُ يَوْمَ الْحِجْرِ عَنْ بِئْرِهِمْ فَأَلْقَى ذُو الْعَجِينِ عَجِينَهُ وَذُو الْحَيْسِ حَيْسَهُ»  

[Machine] He heard Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri and Abu Sirmah Al-Ansari saying: We captured spoils in the battle of Bani Al-Mustaliq, which is the battle in which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took Juwayriyah bint Al-Harith as a captive. Among us were those who wanted to take captives as their wives and among us were those who wanted to seek temporary pleasure. Then we decided to return them in emancipation. We mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, "Why don't you keep them? It is up to Allah to decide what happens until the Day of Resurrection."  

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ وأَبَا صِرْمَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ يَقُولُانِ أَصَبْنَا سَبَايَا فِي غَزْوَةِ بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ وَهِيَ الْغَزْوَةُ الَّتِي أَصَابَ فِيهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ وَكَانَ مِنَّا مَنْ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ أَهْلًا وَمِنَّا مَنْ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَسْتَمْتِعَ ثُمَّ نَبِيعُ فَتَرَاجَعْنَا فِي الْعَزْلِ وَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَعْزِلُوا فَإِنَّ اللهَ قَدَّرَ مَا هُوَ خَالِقٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ prohibited eating lizards.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «نَهَى عَنْ أَكْلِ الضَّبِّ»  

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: "If one of you possesses something that has the price of a person's freedom, then let him set that person free, for indeed, every limb of that person will ransom a limb of his from the Fire."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا مَلَكَ أَحَدُكُمْ شَيْئًا فِيهِ ثَمَنُ رَقَبَةٍ فَلْيَعْتِقْهَا فَإِنَّهُ يُفَدِّي كُلَّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهَا عُضْوًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»  

[Machine] He cooked a pot for the Prophet ﷺ, so the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Give me a forearm." He liked the forearm, so I gave him the forearm. Then he said, "Give me the forearm." I gave him the forearm. He said, "Give me the forearm." So I said, "O Prophet of Allah, how many forearms are there for the sheep?" He said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, if you remained silent, I would give you forearms as much as you asked for."  

أَنَّهُ طَبَخَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ قِدْرًا فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «نَاوِلْنِي ذِرَاعًا وَكَانَ يُعْجِبُهُ الذِّرَاعُ فَنَاوَلْتُهُ الذِّرَاعَ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ فَنَاوَلْتُهُ الذِّرَاعَ» قَالَ «نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ» فَقُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ وَكَمْ لِلشَّاةِ مِنْ ذِرَاعٍ فَقَالَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ سَكَتَّ لَأَعْطَيْتَنِي أَذْرُعًا مَا دَعَوْتُ بِهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, one of the greatest thieves is one who steals the tongue of the leader, and indeed, one of the gravest sins is one who wrongfully seizes the wealth of a Muslim. And indeed, one of the good deeds is visiting the sick, and completing the visit includes placing your hand on him and asking about his condition. And indeed, one of the best intercessions is mediating between two people in marriage until they come together. And indeed, one of the attire of the prophets is the shirt before trousers. And indeed, one of the things that is responded to when making supplication is a sneeze."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ مِنْ أَسْرِقِ السُّرَّاقِ مَنْ يَسْرِقُ لِسَانَ الْأَمِيرِ وَإِنْ مِنْ أَعْظَمِ الْخَطَايَا مَنِ اقْتَطَعَ مَالَ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْحَسَنَاتِ عِيَادَةَ الْمَرِيضِ وَإِنَّ مِنْ تَمَامِ عِيَادَتِهِ أَنْ تَضَعَ يَدَكَ عَلَيْهِ وَتَسْأَلَهُ كَيْفَ هُوَ وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَفْضَلِ الشَّفَاعَاتِ أَنْ تَشْفَعَ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ فِي نِكَاحٍ حَتَّى تَجْمَعَ بَيْنَهُمَا وَإِنَّ مِنْ لِبْسَةِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ الْقَمِيصُ قَبْلَ السَّرَاوِيلِ وَإِنَّ مِمَّا يُسْتَجَابُ بِهِ عِنْدَ الدُّعَاءِ الْعُطَاسُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no group of people who gather together to study the Book of Allah except that they are guests of Allah, and the angels surround them, and tranquility descends upon them, and Allah mentions them to those who are near to Him. And there is no servant who leaves his home in search of knowledge, fearing that he may die or be harmed, except that he is like a traveler on the path of Allah. And whoever goes slower than him in his actions, his lineage will not make him go faster."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يَجْتَمِعُونَ عَلَى كِتَابِ اللهِ يَتَعَاطَوْنَهُ بَيْنَهُمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا أَضْيَافًا لِلَّهِ وَإِلَّا حَفَّتْهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ حَتَّى يَقُومُوا أَوْ يَخُوضُوا فِي حَدِيثٍ غَيْرِهِ وَمَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَخْرُجُ فِي طَلَبِ عَلْمٍ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَمُوتَ أَوْ فِي انْتِسَاخِهِ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يُدْرَسَ إِلَّا كَانَ كَالْغَادِي الرَّائِحِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَمَنْ يُبْطِئْ بِهِ عَمَلُهُ لَا يُسْرِعُ بِهِ نَسَبُهُ»  

[Machine] About a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ named Abu Suwaid, it is narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Blessings be upon those who perform the pre-dawn prayer."  

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يُدْعَى أَبَا سُوَيْدٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «صَلَّى عَلَى الْمُتَسَحِّرِينَ»  

[Machine] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, so and so has died, so please pray for him." Umar said, "Indeed, he was a wicked person, so do not pray for him." The man said, "O Messenger of Allah, did you not see the night that you were with them in guard duty? He was among them." So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and prayed for him. Then, he followed the funeral procession until they reached his grave. He sat down and dug three times and then said, "May the people praise you for good and praise you for evil." Umar asked, "What is that, O Messenger of Allah?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Leave it, O son of Al-Khattab, for those who strive in the cause of Allah, Paradise is obligatory for them."  

أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ فُلَانًا هَلَكَ فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ إِنَّهُ فَاجِرٌ فَلَا تُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَمْ تَرَ اللَّيْلَةَ الَّتِي صُحِبْتَ فِيهَا فِي الْحَرَسِ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ فِيهِمْ؟ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ تَبِعَهُ حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَ قَبْرَهُ قَعَدَ حَتَّى إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْهُ حَثَى عَلَيْهِ ثَلَاثَ حَثَيَاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ «يُثْنِي عَلَيْكَ النَّاسُ شَرًّا وَأُثْنِي عَلَيْكَ خَيْرًا» فَقَالَ عُمَرُ وَمَا ذَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «دَعْنَا مِنْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ مَنْ جَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ»  

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, make the killing of my ummah in Your cause with stabbing and plague."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْ قَتْلَ أُمَّتِي فِي سَبِيلِكَ بِالطَّعْنِ وَالطَّاعُونِ»  

[Machine] "I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he surrounded Ta'if and he prayed the Asr prayer with us, at a time that if a man were to throw a stone, he would see the places of his noble lineage."  

«كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَيْثُ حَاصَرَ الطَّائِفَ فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي بِنَا صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ حِينًا لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا رَمَى لَرَأَى مَوَاقِعَ نَبْلِهِ»  

[Machine] From his grandfather, who had the companionship of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Indeed, when a servant attains a rank from Allah that he cannot reach with his deeds, Allah afflicts him in his body, in his wealth, and in his children. Then He endows him with patience in that until he attains the rank that Allah has predestined for him."  

عَنْ جَدِّهِ وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا سَبَقَتْ لَهُ مِنَ اللهِ مَنْزِلَةٌ لَمْ يَبْلُغْهَا بِعَمَلِهِ ابْتَلَاهُ اللهُ فِي جَسَدِهِ وَفِي مَالِهِ وَفِي وَلَدِهِ ثُمَّ صَبَّرَهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْمَنْزِلَةَ الَّتِي سَبَقَتْ لَهُ مِنَ اللهِ ﷻ»  

[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever stands in a position of showmanship and reputation, Allah will show him on the Day of Judgment and disgrace him."  

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ قَامَ مَقَامَ رِيَاءٍ وَسُمْعَةٍ رَاءَى اللهُ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَسَمَّعَ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever stands up in the place of showing off, Allah will make it visible to him, and whoever stands up in the place of fame, Allah will make it heard by him."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ قَامَ مَقَامَ رِيَاءٍ رَاءَى اللهُ بِهِ وَمَنْ قَامَ مَقَامَ سُمْعَةٍ سَمَّعَ اللهُ بِهِ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever associates partners with Allah, has indeed disassociated himself from Allah."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ رَاءَى بِاللهِ لِغَيْرِ اللهِ فَقَدْ بَرِئَ مِنَ اللهِ»  

[Machine] It was narrated from Abu Hind ad-Dari that they came to the Messenger of Allah and they were six people: Tameem ibn Aws ibn Kharijah ibn Sowdan ibn Jathimah ibn Dira ibn Adi ibn ad-Dari, his brother Nuaim ibn Aws, Yazid ibn Qais, Abu Hind ibn Abdullah, and his brother At- Tayyib ibn Abdullah. The Messenger of Allah called him Abdur-Rahman and gave Faki ibn Nu'man to them. They embraced Islam and asked him to grant them land from the land of Sham (Greater Syria). The Messenger of Allah said, "Ask for wherever you wish." So they got up from him and consulted with one another about a location they should ask him about. Tameem said, "I suggest that we ask him for Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem) and its surrounding areas." Abu Hind said, "Do you see the king of the non-Arabs today? Is he not in Bayt al-Maqdis?" Tameem said, "Yes."  

عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ الدَّارِيِّ أَنَّهُمُ قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُمْ سِتَّةُ نَفَرٍ تَمِيمُ بْنُ أَوْسِ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ سَوْدَانَ بْنِ جَذِيمَةَ بْنِ دِرَاعِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ الدَّارِ وَأَخُوهُ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ أَوْسٍ وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ وَأَبُو هِنْدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَأَخُوهُ الطِّيبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ فَسَمَّاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ وفَاكِهُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ فَأَسْلَمُوا وَسَأَلُوا أَنْ يُعْطِيَهُمْ أَرْضًا مِنْ أَرْضِ الشَّامِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «سَلُوا حَيْثُ أَحْبَبْتُمْ» فَنَهَضُوا مِنْ عِنْدِهِ يَتَشَاوَرُونَ فِي مَوْضِعٍ يَسْأَلُونَهُ إِيَّاهُ فَقَالَ تَمِيمٌ أَرَى أَنْ نَسْأَلَهُ بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ وَكُورَتَهَا قَالَ أَبُو هِنْدٍ أَرَأَيْتَ مَلِكَ الْعَجَمِ الْيَوْمَ؟ أَلَيْسَ هُوَ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ؟ قَالَ تَمِيمٌ نَعَمْ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Banu Bayadah, marry Abu Hind and give your daughters to him in marriage."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا بَنِي بَيَاضَةَ أَنْكِحُوا أَبَا هِنْدٍ وَأَنْكِحُوا إِلَيْهِ»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, guide me to a righteous deed that I may adhere to and perform." He replied, "Engage in jihad in the cause of Allah, for there is nothing like it." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, tell me about a righteous deed that I may adhere to and perform." He replied, "Engage in migration, for there is nothing like it." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, tell me about a righteous deed that I may adhere to and perform." He replied, "Engage in prostration, for whenever you prostrate to Allah, He raises your rank and forgives your sins with it."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مُرْنِي بِعَمَلٍ أَسْتَقِيمُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَعْمَلُهُ قَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِالْجِهَادِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا مِثْلَ لَهُ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ حَدِّثْنِي بِعَمَلٍ أَسْتَقِيمُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَعْمَلُهُ قَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِالْهِجْرَةِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا مِثْلَ لَهَا» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ حَدِّثْنِي بِعَمَلٍ أَسْتَقِيمُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَعْمَلُهُ قَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِالسُّجُودِ فَإِنَّكَ لَا تَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَ اللهُ لَكَ بِهَا دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, inform us of an action that we can adhere to and practice." He said, "You should migrate, for indeed, there is nothing like it." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, inform us of an action that we can adhere to and practice." He said, "You should engage in jihad, for indeed, there is nothing like it." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, inform us of an action that we can adhere to and practice." He said, "You should observe fasting, for indeed, there is nothing like it." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, inform us of an action that we can adhere to and practice." He said, "You should prostrate, for whenever you prostrate to Allah, He elevates you in rank and removes a sin from you."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنَا بِعَمَلٍ نَسْتَقِيمُ عَلَيْهِ وَنَعْمَلُهُ قَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِالْهِجْرَةِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا مِثْلَ لَهَا» قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنَا بِعَمَلٍ نَسْتَقِيمُ عَلَيْهِ وَنَعْمَلُهُ قَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِالْجِهَادِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا مِثْلَ لَهُ» قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنَا بِعَمَلٍ نَسْتَقِيمُ عَلَيْهِ وَنَعْمَلُهُ قَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِالصَّوْمِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا مِثْلَ لَهُ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنَا بِعَمَلٍ نَسْتَقِيمُ عَلَيْهِ وَنَعْمَلُهُ قَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِالسُّجُودِ فَإِنَّكَ لَا تَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَكَ اللهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْكَ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Increase in prostration, for indeed there is no servant who prostrates to Allah in prostration except that Allah raises him in rank with it."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اسْتَكْثِرُوا مِنَ السُّجُودِ فَإِنَّهُ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً»  

[Machine] To me, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Abu Fatimah, if you wish to meet with me, then increase in prostration."  

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا أَبَا فَاطِمَةَ إِنْ أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَلْقَانِي فَأَكْثِرْ مِنَ السُّجُودِ»  

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Do not curse him,' meaning Ma'iz bin Malik."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَسُبُّوهُ» يَعْنِي مَاعِزَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ  

[Machine] About Urwah, he said, "Regarding the identification of those who witnessed the Battle of Badr from the Ansar, and then from the tribe of Tha'laba bin 'Amr bin 'Awf, Abu Hubbah."  

عَنْ عُرْوَةَ «فِي تَسْمِيَةِ مَنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَبُو حَبَّةَ»  

[Machine] About Ibn Shihab said, "The name of the one who witnessed the Battle of Badr from the Ansar, then from the Tha'labah bin 'Amr bin 'Awf, Abu Habbah bin 'Amr bin Thabit."  

عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ «فِي تَسْمِيَةِ مَنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَبُو حَبَّةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ ثَابِتٍ»  

[Machine] It is no problem with what the man throws in the gravel, meaning from its amount. Abdullah bin Amr bin Uthman said, "I mentioned that to Abdullah bin Amr, and he said, 'Abu Habba is truthful,' and Abu Habba was from Badr."  

أَنَّهُ لَا بَأْسَ بِمَا رَمَى بِهِ الرَّجُلُ فِي الْجِمَارِ مِنَ الْحَصَى يَعْنِي مِنْ عَدَدِهِ» قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو فَقَالَ صَدَقَ أَبُو حَبَّةَ وَكَانَ أَبُو حَبَّةَ بَدْرِيًّا  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I was taken up until I reached a level where I could hear the squeaking of the pens."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «عُرِجَ بِي حَتَّى ظَهَرْتُ لِمُسْتَوًى أَسْمَعُ فِيهِ صَرِيفَ الْأَقْلَامِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Then I was ascended until I reached a level where I could hear the squeaking of the pens."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِي حَتَّى ظَهَرْتُ بِمُسْتَوًى أَسْمَعُ فِيهِ صَرِيفَ الْأَقْلَامِ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ met Ubayy ibn Ka'b and said, "Indeed, Gabriel has commanded me to recite to you 'Those who disbelieved'." Ubayy asked, "O Messenger of Allah, have I been mentioned there?" The Prophet replied, "Yes." Ubayy then began to cry.  

أَنْ لَقِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أُبَيَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ قَالَ إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ قَدْ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أُقْرِئَكَ {لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا} فَقَالَ أُبَيُّ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَوَ قَدْ ذُكِرْتُ هُنَاكَ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» قَالَ «فَبَكَى»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not combine between my name and my nickname."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَجْمَعُوا بَيْنَ اسْمِي وَكُنْيَتِي»  

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said, "O Allah, I ask You for my wealth and the wealth of my master."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ غِنَايَ وَغِنَى مَوْلَايَ»  

“Whoever harms others, Allah (SWT) will harm him; and whoever causes hardship to other Allah will cause hardship to him.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2342)  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ ضَارَّ ضَرَّ اللهُ بِهِ وَمَنْ شَاقَّ شَقَّ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ»  

[Machine] Al-Qa'ani narrated from Sulaiman ibn Bilal, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban, from Lu'lu'ah, from Abu Sirma, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said, "Whoever harms others, Allah will harm him, and whoever is harsh, Allah will be harsh upon him."  

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنْ لُؤْلُؤَةَ عَنْ أَبِي صِرْمَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ ضَارَّ ضَارَّ اللهُ بِهِ وَمَنْ شَقَّ شَقَّ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ»  

[Machine] From Abu Maryam, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever is responsible for any matter concerning the Muslims and isolates himself from their needs, and their distress, and their poverty, Allah will isolate him on the Day of Resurrection from His mercy, and His needs, and His poverty."  

عَنْ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ وَلِيَ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ شَيْئًا فَاحْتَجَبَ دُونَ حَاجَتِهِمْ وَفَاقَتِهِمْ وَفَقْرِهِمُ احْتَجَبَ اللهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَنْ خَلَّتِهِ وَحَاجَتِهِ وَفَقْرِهِ وَفَاقِتِهِ»  

[Machine] "I participated in a military expedition with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He handed me the flag, and I fought fiercely in front of him with my sword. He was impressed by that and prayed for me."  

«غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَدَفَعَ إِلَيَّ اللِّوَاءَ وَرَمَيْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِالْجَنْدَلِ فَأَعْجَبَهُ ذَلِكَ وَدَعَا لِي»  

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah and said to him, "A girl was born to me tonight." The Prophet, ﷺ , said, "And tonight Surah Maryam was revealed to me, named after Maryam, so she will be called Maryam."  

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ وُلِدَتْ لِي اللَّيْلَةَ جَارِيَةٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «وَاللَّيْلَةُ أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيَّ سُورَةُ مَرْيَمَ سَمِّهَا مَرْيَمَ فَكَانَتْ تُسَمَّى مَرْيَمَ»  

[Machine] An Arab man approached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was sitting with a group of people and said, "Will you not give me something that I can learn, carry, and benefit from, without it harming you?" The people said, "Sit down." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Let him be, for indeed the man has asked in order to learn." They made way for him until he sat down. He asked, "What was the first matter of your prophethood?" He said, "Allah took the covenant from me as He took from the prophets before me. Then he recited, 'And [recall] when We took from the prophets their covenant and from you and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, the son of Mary; and We took from them a solemn covenant' (Quran 33:7). And the mother of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw in her dream that a light came out from between her legs that illuminated the palaces of Greater Syria." The Arab man came close to the Prophet ﷺ and lowered his head. There was something in his ear. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "And beyond that?"  

أَقْبَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ حَتَّى أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ وَعِنْدَهُ خَلْقٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ أَلَا تُعْطِيَنِي شَيْئًا أَتَعَلَّمُهُ وَأَحْمِلُهُ وَيَنْفَعُنِي وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ؟ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ مَهِ اجْلِسْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «دَعُوهُ فَإِنَّمَا سَأَلَ الرَّجُلُ لِيَعْلَمَ» قَالَ فَأَفْرَجُوا لَهُ حَتَّى جَلَسَ قَالَ أَيُّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ أَوَّلَ أَمْرِ نُبُوَّتِكَ قَالَ أَخَذَ اللهُ مِنِّي الْمِيثَاقَ كَمَا أَخَذَ مِنَ النَّبِيِّينِ مِيثَاقَهُمْ ثُمَّ تَلَا {وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّينِ مِيثَاقَهُمْ وَمِنْكَ وَمِنْ نُوحٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُمْ مِيثَاقًا غَلِيظًا} وَبَشَّرَ بِي الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَرَأَتْ أُمَّ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي مَنَامِهَا أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْنِ رِجْلَيْهَا سِرَاجٌ أَضَاءَتْ لَهُ قُصُورُ الشَّامِ فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ هَاهِ وَأَدْنَى مِنْهُ رَأْسَهُ وَكَانَ فِي سَمْعِهِ شَيْءٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَوَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ»  

[Machine] "We carried the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on camels from the camels of charity, which were weak, for Hajj. We said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we do not see it appropriate for you to ride on these.' He said, 'There is no camel except that there is a devil in its hump. So when you ride it, remember the blessings of Allah upon you as Allah has commanded you and then handle it with ease, for only Allah carries.'"  

حَمَلَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى إِبِلٍ مِنْ إِبِلِ الصَّدَقَةِ ضِعَافٍ لِلْحَجِّ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا نَرَى أَنْ تَحْمِلَنَا هَذِهِ؟ فَقَالَ «مَا مِنْ بَعِيرٍ إِلَّا وَفِي ذُرْوَتِهِ شَيْطَانٌ فَإِذَا رَكِبْتُمُوهَا فَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللهِ عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا أَمَرَكُمُ اللهُ ثُمَّ امْتَهِنُوهَا لِأَنْفُسِكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا يَحْمِلُ اللهُ»  

[Machine] I heard Ali ibn Al-Madini say, "Abu Sakinah does not have any companionship."  

سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْمَدِينِيَّ يَقُولُ «أَبُو سَكِينَةَ لَا يُعْلَمُ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Honor bread, for surely Allah honors it. Whoever honors bread, Allah honors him."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَكْرِمُوا الْخُبْزَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ أَكْرَمَهُ فَمَنْ أَكْرَمَ الْخُبْزَ أَكْرَمَهُ اللهُ»  

[Machine] He passed by the Prophet ﷺ with some dates, so the Prophet ﷺ inclined towards him to take a handful and distribute it among his companions. He tucked the edge of his garment to his chest and abdomen, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "May Allah increase you in greed."  

أَنَّهُ مَرَّ بِالنَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ شَيْءٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَأَهْوَى إِلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِيَأْخُذَ مِنْهُ قَبْضَةً يَنْثُرُهَا بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ فَضَمَّ طَرَفَ رِدَائِهِ إِلَى صَدْرِهِ وَإِلَى بَطْنِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «زَادَكَ اللهُ شُحًّا»
