Collected by Muslim, Ibn Mājah, Aḥmad, Dārimī, Ibn Ḥibbān, Ṭabarānī, Bayhaqī, SuyūṭīAnas reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed prayer on the grave.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى عَلَى قَبْرٍ
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet ﷺ offered the funeral prayer for Najashi and said four Takbir.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى عَلَى النَّجَاشِيِّ فَكَبَّرَ أَرْبَعًا
“When Ibn ‘Abbas was in Basrah, he performed prayer on his rug, then he told his companions that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform prayer on his rug.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1030)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى عَلَى بِسَاطٍ
Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed prayer on the grave. (Using translation from Muslim 955)
