Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed prayer on the grave.

ibnmajah:1538 – Sahl b. Abū Sahl > Makkī b. Ibrāhīm Abū al-Sakan > Mālik > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet ﷺ offered the funeral prayer for Najashi and said four Takbir.  

ابن ماجة:١٥٣٨ – حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَبُو السَّكَنِ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى عَلَى النَّجَاشِيِّ فَكَبَّرَ أَرْبَعًا  

ahmad:2472 – al-Faḍl b. Dukayn > Zamʿah > Salamah b. And Hrām > ʿIkrimah > Ibn ʿAbbās

“When Ibn ‘Abbas was in Basrah, he performed prayer on his rug, then he told his companions that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform prayer on his rug.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1030)

الطبراني:٥٧١٣ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الْحَارِثِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُهَيْمِنِ بْنِ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى عَلَى ذُبَابٍ

أَنْ يُصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ
