7. Medinans (13/15)
[Machine] He heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Islam started as something strange and it will return to being strange once again, so blessed are the strangers." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, who are the strangers?" He replied, "Those who correct themselves when the people have become corrupt." It was also said, "And who are they, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "The faith will retreat to Medina just as the snake retreats to its hole." It was also said, "And who are they, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "They will protect Islam in the area between the two mosques just as the snake guards its hole."
7.124 [Machine] Saad Al-Dalil
[Machine] I went out with Ibrahim ibn Abdul Rahman ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Rabee'ah. Ibrahim ibn Abdul Rahman sent Ibrahim ibn Abdul Rahman to ibn Saad. When we were in Al-Arj, a son of Saad and Saad himself, who accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in his journey, came to us. Ibrahim asked me, "What did your father tell you?" Ibn Saad replied, "My father told me that the Messenger of Allah came to them with Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr had a nursling daughter with them. The Messenger of Allah intended to shorten the journey to Madinah, so Saad said, 'This is a she-camel from Al-Ghair which has two disorders, but there are two men from the Muslims who are called Al-Muhanaan (the humiliated). If you want, we can replace them with you.' The Prophet ﷺ accepted and said, 'Yes, replace them with us.' Saad said, 'Then we set out until one of them said to his companion, 'This is the Yamani.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called them and presented Islam to them, and they embraced Islam. Then he asked them their names, and they said, 'We are Al-Muhanaan.' He said, 'No, you are Al-Mukraman (honored).' He ordered them to go ahead to Madinah. We continued until we reached Dhaher Qubaa, where Bani Amr Ibn Awf met us. The Prophet ﷺ asked, 'Where is Abu Umamah As'ad ibn Zurarah?' Saad ibn Khaythamah replied, 'He was hurt before me, O Messenger of Allah. Shouldn't I inform him about you?' Then he went until he reached the palm grove and found the water filled. The Prophet ﷺ looked at Abu Bakr and said, 'O Abu Bakr, this is the place where I saw myself descending into a grassy area like the grassy area of Bani Mudlij.'

7.125 [Machine] Mus'ab bin Yazid
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed and left a sign, and a man said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, you left a sign such and such." He said, "Why did you not remind me of it?"
7.126 [Machine] Messenger Caesar to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ
[Machine] "I arrived in Sham and it was said to me that in this church is a messenger of Caesar to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So, we entered the church and there I saw an elderly man, so I said to him, 'Are you the messenger of Caesar to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He replied, 'Yes.' I said, 'Tell me about that.' He said, 'When he fought the battle of Tabuk, he wrote a letter to Caesar and sent it with a man named Dihyah bin Khalifa. When he read his letter, he placed it on his bed and sent it to his bishops and the heads of his companions. He said, 'This man has sent a messenger to you and written a letter to you, giving you three options: either you follow him in his religion, or you pay him tribute that is collected from you and brings you protection and allows you to continue with your current lifestyle in your land, or you engage in war with him.' They knelt down and pondered until some of them emerged from their councils and said, 'We will not follow him in his religion and abandon our religion and the religion of our forefathers, nor will we pay him tribute that will be collected from us, but we will engage in war with him.' He said, 'That was how it was. However, I disliked doing anything without consulting you.' 'Abbad then said, 'Didn't Najashi embrace Islam when the message reached us?' He replied, 'Yes, but he saw something from them.' 'Abbad said, 'He asked me to find someone from the Arabs to write a reply to him according to his letter.' So, I went with him while I was a young man and he took me to him. He wrote his reply and said to me, 'Remember three points, if you forget anything from me: when he reads my letter, does he mention day and night? Does he mention his letter to me? And see if you notice a mark on his back.' So, I approached him until I met him in Tabuk, seated in a gathering with his companions. I asked and was informed about him. Then, I handed him the letter. He called Muawiya and recited the letter to him. When he reached the part where I said, 'You invited me to a garden, its width encompasses the heavens and the earth, so where is the fire?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'When the night comes, where is the day?' He said, 'So, he said to me, 'I wrote to Najashi, but he tore it apart and Allah tore his kingdom apart.' He said, 'Abbad then said, 'Didn't Najashi embrace Islam and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ hold the prayer for him in Madinah in front of his companions?' He replied, 'Yes, that's true. This is so-and-so and that is so-and-so,' Ibn Khuthaym mentioned all of them, but I forgot their names. So, I wrote a letter to Kisra, but he tore it apart and Allah tore his kingdom apart. Then, I wrote a letter to Caesar, and he replied to me. The people feared them as long as there was fear in their lives. And then he asked me, 'Who are you?' I said, 'I am from Tanukh.' He said, 'O brother from Tanukh, are you a Muslim?' I said, 'No, I came from a group of people who are following their religion, and I am not willing to change my religion until I return to them.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled or he smiled. When I finished my business, I got up and when I turned to leave, he called me and said, 'O brother from Tanukh, come and reach what you were commanded to do.' I had forgotten it, so I turned back from behind the gathering and threw a cloak that was on his back. I saw the hump on his shoulder like a huge sphere."

[Machine] The Messenger of Caesar used to be a neighbor to me, Yazid ibn Mu'awiyah. I said to him, "Tell me about the letter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Caesar." He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Dihyah al-Kalbi as an emissary to Caesar, and he wrote a letter to him. He mentioned something about the story of Abbad ibn Abbad, which is the most complete and accurate narration of the incident. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed when he invited him to Islam and he refused to accept it, and he recited this verse to him, 'Verily, you (O Muhammad) guide not whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills.' (Quran 28:56). Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'You are a messenger of a people, and you have rights, but you have come to us while we are in a state of war.' Uthman ibn 'Affan said, 'I will dress him in a yellow robe.' And a man from the Ansar said, 'I will host him.'"

7.127 [Machine] Ibn Abbs: A Scholar Who Experienced the Ignorance Period
[Machine] Narrated to us a sheikh who experienced the pre-Islamic era and we were in the expedition of Roodees, known as Ibn Abis. He said, "I used to drive a cow for our family. One day, I heard a loud voice coming from its stomach saying, 'O family of Dharih, there is a man loudly proclaiming that there is no god but Allah.' He said, "So we approached Makkah and found the Prophet had already left Makkah."

7.128 [Machine] Abdulrahman bin Khabab Al-Sulami
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon and urged for the support of the army of Al-Usrah. Uthman ibn Affan pledged a hundred camels with their saddles and reins. He continued to urge and Uthman pledged another hundred camels with their saddles and reins. Then a platform was set up from the pulpit, and he urged again. Uthman ibn Affan pledged another hundred camels with their saddles and reins. I saw the Prophet ﷺ moving his hand like this and Abdullah ibn Abi Sarh brought out his hand in awe. Uthman did not engage in any business after this.

[Machine] I saw the Prophet of Allah ﷺ giving a sermon, encouraging and reminding about the importance of the army of hardship.

7.129 [Machine] The Remaining Narration of Abu al-Ghadiya
[Machine] It is said that Abu Al-Ghadiyah asked for water to be brought to him in a dirty container, but he refused to drink from it. The Prophet ﷺ mentioned this hadith: "Do not go back after me as disbelievers or misguided ones." Ibn Abi Adiy's son, who was doubtful, said, "Some of you are hitting each other's necks." So when a man insulted another, I said, "By Allah, if Allah enables me to defeat you in battle, then I will." On the day of Siffin, I found him with armor on him. So I realized that the opportunity was present in the pockets of the armor, so I pierced him and killed him. It was Ammar ibn Yasir. I said, "Which hands would refuse to drink from a dirty container and yet kill Ammar ibn Yasir?"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to us on the day of Aqaba and said, "O people, indeed, your blood and your wealth are sacred to you until you meet your Lord, just as the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this land of yours. Have I conveyed the message?" They said, "Yes." He said, "O Allah, have I conveyed the message?"

[Machine] From his father, Muttir, and Muttir was present, confirming his story. He said, "How did I inform you?" He said, "O my father, you informed me that you met the man with two wooden hands, so you informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed two units of prayer with them during one of the evening prayers, and it was Asr prayer. Then, he quickly left with the people while they were saying, 'The prayer was shortened, the prayer was shortened.' So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and Abu Bakr and Umar followed him, and they were both his first followers. Then, the man with two wooden hands caught up with him and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, the prayer was shortened, the prayer was shortened, or did you forget?' So, he said, 'The prayer was not shortened, and I did not forget.' Then, he turned to Abu Bakr and Umar and said, 'What does the man with two wooden hands say?' They said, 'He is speaking the truth, O Messenger of Allah.' So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned and the people were pleased, so he prayed two units of prayer, then he made the greeting (salam), then he prostrated for the two prostrations of forgetfulness. Abu Sulaiman said, 'I narrated this for six or seven years, then I made the greeting (salam), and I doubted it, while it was my most memorized (hadith).'"

[Machine] From the hadith of Dhu Al-Yadayn, I approached him and asked him about it. He turned out to be an elderly sheikh who did not adhere to the limitations of old age in terms of narrating hadiths. Then his son, Shuayth, said, "Indeed, my father informed me that Dhu Al-Yadayn met you while you were carrying firewood. He told you that the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , performed two rak'ahs of the Isha prayer with them, then he performed the Asr prayer. Then he said the salaam and quickly left. People hurriedly followed him and said, 'Did the prayer become shorter?' Amongst them were Abu Bakr and Umar. Dhu Al-Yadayn said, 'Did the prayer become shorter or did you forget?' They replied, 'The prayer did not become shorter, and we did not forget.' Then he approached Abu Bakr and Umar and asked them, 'What did Dhu Al-Yadayn say?' They replied, 'You spoke the truth, O Messenger of Allah.' So the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , returned, and the people were pleased, and he performed two rak'ahs with them, then said the salaam, and then performed the two prostrations of forgetfulness."
