[Machine] It was narrated from Shu'bah, who narrated from Qatadah, who said: "I was informed by Mutarrif, who heard from his father, who heard from the Prophet ﷺ regarding continuous fasting. He said: 'He does not fast nor does he break his fast.' And Bahz said in his narration: 'He neither fasts nor breaks his fast.'"
"The mutual increase diverts you". He ﷺ said: "The son of Adam says:'My wealth, my wealth, but is there something for you from your wealth besides what you give in charity that remains, or you eat which perishes, or what you wear that grows worn?" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2342)
I came to Allah's Apostle ﷺ as he was reciting:" Abundance diverts you" (cii. 1). He said: The son of Adam claims: My wealth, my wealth. And he (the Holy Prophet) said: O son of Adam. is there anything as your belonging except that which you consumed, which you utilised, or which you wore and then it was worn out or you gave as charity and sent it forward? (Using translation from Muslim 2958a)
[Machine] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Are you the leader of the Quraysh tribe?" The Prophet ﷺ responded, "The leader of the Quraysh is Allah. I am the best among them in terms of speech and the greatest among them in terms of lineage." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let everyone of you speak with his own words, and let him not be prompted by Satan."
[Machine] He heard the Prophet ﷺ and was asked about a man who fasts continuously, he said, "He neither fasts nor breaks his fast."
"We prayed with Abdullah bin Mas'ud in his house. He stood between us and we placed our hands on our knees, but he took them off and made us interlace our fingers, and said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do that.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1030)
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying, then he spat under his foot and rubbed it with his sandal while it was still on his foot.
[Machine] "He (the Prophet ﷺ) received a delegation from the tribe of Bani 'Amir. So we went to him and greeted him, saying: You are our guardian, our leader, and you are taller than us. Yunus said: And you are taller than us in height, and you are better than us in superiority, and you have beautiful and captivating eyes. So he said: Say what you have said, and may the devil not deceive you."
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and in his chest was a sound like the sound of a boiling pot from crying. Abdullah bin Ahmad said that no one cried more than Yazid bin Harun.
'Abdullah b. Shakhkhir narrated it on the authority of his father that he said prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he spat and then rubbed it off with his left shoe. (Using translation from Muslim 554b)
[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, what is the portion of a lost camel?" He replied, "It is burned in the fire."
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fasts every day of is life, then he has neither fasted, nor broken the fast." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2374)
[Machine] "A man came to the Prophet, ﷺ , and said: 'Are you the leader of the Quraysh?' The Prophet, ﷺ , replied: 'The leader is Allah.' The man then asked: 'Are you the best among them in terms of speech and the greatest of them in terms of length?' The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: 'Let each of you speak as he wishes, and do not let Satan or the devils tempt him to boast.'"
[Machine] I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was praying, and there was a sound coming from his chest like the sound of a boiling kettle.
[Machine] A man asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about fasting the entire year, and the Prophet replied, "He neither fasts nor breaks his fast."
[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying with his shoes on. He then took them off and kept them under his left foot. Then I saw him rubbing his shoes with his feet."
[Machine] "He (referring to the Prophet) was asked, or the Prophet of Allah was asked, about a man who fasts continuously. He (the Prophet) replied, 'He neither fasts nor breaks his fast.'"
[Machine] The translation of the passage into English is as follows: "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray and spit beneath his left foot."
(Using translation from Muslim 2958a)
[Machine] From his father, and his father had come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said, "Whoever fasts the entire year, then let him not fast nor break his fast."
[Machine] He said, "I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was reciting this Surah: 'The mutual rivalry for piling up (wealth) diverts you.' Then he mentioned a similar saying, meaning the saying of Qatadah, 'Like the saying of Hammam.'"
[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was praying, either sitting or standing, and he was reciting the Surah Al-Haaqqa until he finished it.
"I came to the Prophet ﷺ when he was praying, and there was a sound coming from his chest like the sound of water boiling," meaning, he was weeping. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1214)
[Machine] I entered upon the Messenger of Allah while he was reciting Surah Al-Haqqah until he reached the verse "Until you visit the graves." He then said, "The son of Adam says: My wealth, my wealth. But O son of Adam, do you have anything from your wealth except what you eat and then it is gone, what you wear and then it is worn out, or what you give away in charity and then it is spent? And Qatadah used to say: Every charity that is not collected is of no benefit."
[Machine] Abu entered upon the Prophet ﷺ and heard him say, so he mentioned a statement similar to the narration of Affan and did not mention the saying of Qatadah.
