[Machine] He heard Abu Ruhammad al-Ghifari, who was one of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , saying, "I participated in the battle of Tabuk with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . When he took a break during the night, I secretly approached him. Suddenly, drowsiness overcame me and I woke up to find that my camel had moved closer to his camel, and I was afraid that I might hurt his foot with the saddle. So, I delayed my camel until I fell asleep half the night. Then, I mounted my camel and his foot got injured. I woke up to his exclamation of 'Hass!' and raised my head. I asked him to seek forgiveness for me, and he said, 'Ask.' Then, he asked me about those who lagged behind from the tribe of Ghifari, and I informed him. He asked me about the group of armed men who had a slight flaw in their weapons. I mentioned them among the tribe of Ghifari, but I did not remember them until I mentioned a group of converts (Muslims). I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, they are a group of converts who have lagged behind.' He ﷺ said, 'So what prevents any of them who lagged behind from carrying a means of transportation, such as a riding camel, from his own camels, and actively joining in the path of Allah? Verily, the most beloved of my family to me are those who lag behind from the emigrants of the Quraysh, the Ansar, Ghifari, and the converts.'"

[Machine] I heard Abu Ruhum Al-Ghifari, one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who pledged allegiance under the tree, saying: I joined the Prophet ﷺ in the Tabuk expedition. When we stopped for the night, I went near him and suddenly I felt drowsy and fell asleep. I woke up to find that my camel was close to his camel, and I was afraid that its hooves might hurt his feet due to the intensity of the darkness. So, I reprimanded my camel until my eyes became heavy during the night. Then, my camel collided with his camel and his legs stuck in my camel's stirrup, and his leg got injured. I woke up only when he said, "Hass." I raised my head and said, "O Messenger of Allah, seek forgiveness for me." He said, "Keep it secret." Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up and asked me about those who were left behind from Banu Ghifar. I informed him, and he said, "What did the red horses do, the valiant ones?" I told him about their lagging behind, and he said, "What did the black horses, the swift ones or the short-legged ones with snub tails do?" Then, I remembered them among Banu Ghifar, and I did not mention them until I mentioned a few individuals who embraced Islam. So, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, those people are related to some individuals who embraced Islam, but they lagged behind." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "What prevents them, when one of them lags behind, from carrying a load on his energetic camel for the sake of Allah? What hurts me the most is to see that the immigrants, the ansar, and the Muslims in general lag behind me."

One night, I walked with him while we were in the Al-Akhdir area, close to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We became overcome with drowsiness, and I fell asleep with my camel close to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. As my camel approached his, I became startled out of fear that it may hit the leg of his camel. So, I pulled my camel away from his until my eyes closed for a while. It was late in the night, and my camel caught up with the camel of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and its leg hit the saddle. I did not wake up until he said, 'Hass!'. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, seek forgiveness for me', and he replied, 'Go on'. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked me about those who had been left behind from the Banu Ghifar tribe. I informed him about them, and then he asked me, 'What did the red-footed brown camels do?' I explained their absence, and then he asked, 'What did the black-footed white camels do?' I said, 'By Allah, I do not know who they are among us'. He said, 'Rather, it is those who have abundant wealth tied to their saddles'. I then remembered them among the Banu Ghifar tribe, but I did not mention them until I remembered that they were allies of ours. So, I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, they are allies of ours from the Muslims'. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'What prevented any of those (wealthy people) when they were left behind from carrying a camel loaded with his mixed luggage for the sake of Allah's cause? [Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "My tongue burns me and I often mention his family in a derogatory manner." He ﷺ said, "Where are you in seeking forgiveness? Verily, I seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times a day and repent to Him."

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Indeed, I am afflicted with the scourge of the tongue. I have harmed my family with my tongue." He said, "So where are you from seeking forgiveness? Verily, I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him one hundred times a day."

[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ and prayed Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha with him. Then, I followed him when he wanted to enter his house, he stood up and I was behind him as if he was talking to someone. He said, "Who is this?" I said, "Hudhayfah." He said, "Do you know who was with me?" I said, "No." He said, "Verily, Jibril came to give me glad tidings that Hasan and Hussein are the leaders of the youth of Paradise." Hudhayfah said, "So, seek forgiveness for me and my mother." He said, "May Allah forgive you, O Hudhayfah, and your mother."

[Machine] "Once I had a dispute with my family that I could not resolve, so I mentioned it to the Prophet ﷺ . He said, 'Why don't you seek forgiveness, Hudhaifah? Verily, I seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times every day and repent unto Him.' I then mentioned this to Ubayy ibn Ka'b, who narrated to me from Abu Musa that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Verily, I seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times during the day and night, and repent unto Him.'"

ahmad:18293Ismāʿīl > Yūnus > Ḥumayd b. Hilāl > Abū Burdah

[Machine] A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O people, repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness, for indeed I repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness one hundred times every day." So I said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, should I say, 'O Allah, I seek Your forgiveness' or 'O Allah, I repent to You'? He said, 'It is the same, or something similar to that.'"
