Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "What is the best deed?" He replied, "To believe in Allah and His Apostle (Muhammad). The questioner then asked, "What is the next (in goodness)? He replied, "To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah's Cause." The questioner again asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, "To perform Hajj (Pilgrim age to Mecca) 'Mubrur, (which is accepted by Allah and is performed with the intention of seeking Allah's pleasure only and not to show off and without committing a sin and in accordance with the traditions of the Prophet)."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَىُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ فَقَالَ إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "If Allah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion. I am just a distributor, but the grant is from Allah. (And remember) that this nation (true Muslims) will keep on following Allah's teachings strictly and they will not be harmed by any one going on a different path till Allah's order (Day of Judgment) is established." سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ»

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "If Allah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion. I am just a distributor, but the grant is from Allah. The Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which is the best deed?" He said, "To believe in Allah and His Apostle." He was then asked, "Which is the next (in goodness)?" سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ» قَالَ قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ» قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ»

“Going out in the morning in the cause of Allah, or in the evening, is more virtuous than the world and what is in it.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2755)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَغَدْوَةٌ فِي سبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا»

[AI] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ , "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Belief in Allah and striving in the cause of Allah."

سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ»

[AI] Abu Hurairah saw a man covering his feet and said, "Perform ablution properly, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Woe to the heels from the Hellfire.'"

أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَأَى رَجُلًا مُبَقَّعَ الرِّجْلَيْنِ فَقَالَ أَحْسِنُوا الْوُضُوءَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَيْلٌ لِلْأَعْقَابِ مِنَ النَّارِ

[AI] Abu Hurairah saw a man wearing a face veil and said, "Perform ablution properly, for I heard Abu Al-Qasim ﷺ saying, 'Woe to the heels from the Fire.'"

أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَأَى رَجُلًا مُبَقَّعَ الرِّجْلَيْنِ فَقَالَ أَحْسِنُوا الْوُضُوءَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَيْلٌ لِلْعَقِبِ مِنَ النَّارِ

[AI] I heard Abu Hurairah saying, "Perform the ritual ablution (wudu) properly, for I heard Abu Al-Qasim saying, 'Woe to the heels from the hellfire.'"

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ أَحْسِنُوا الْوُضُوءَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ يَقُولُ وَيْلٌ لِلْأَعْقَابِ مِنَ النَّارِ

He saw people perform ablution with the help of a water jar and he said: Complete the Wudu for i heard Abu al-Qasim ﷺ say: Woe to the hamstrings because of hell-fire. (Using translation from Muslim 242b)

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَاقِيبِ مِنَ النَّارِ

“Whoever dies knowing that there is no God but Allah will enter Paradise.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 498)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ اعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ مَنْ مَاتَ يَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ

Leaving (for Jihad) in the way of Allah in the morning or in the evening (will merit a reward) better than the world and all that is in it. (Using translation from Muslim 1880)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَغَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "A person is with the one they love."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْعَبْدُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever abandons a Dinar is sinning."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ تَرَكَ دِينَارًافَهُوَ كَيَّةٌ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever soils his feet in the cause of Allah, they will be forbidden upon the Hellfire."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ اغْبَرَّتْ قَدَمَاهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَهُمَا حَرَامٌ عَلَى النَّارِ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Woe to the Achilles' tendon because of Hell-fire." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 454)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَاقِيبِ مِنَ النَّارِ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Woe to the Achilles' tendon because of Hell-fire." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 454)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَاقِيبِ مِنَ النَّارِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Woe to the heels and bellies of the feet from the Hellfire."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَيْلٌ لِلْأَعْقَابِ وَبُطُونِ الْأَقْدَامِ مِنَ النَّارِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Indeed, Allah does not show mercy to those who do not show mercy to people."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَا يَرْحَمُ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ النَّاسَ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Only a stray person will shelter another stray."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يُؤْوِي الضَّالَّةَ إِلَّا ضَالٌّ

[AI] "And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Indeed, Allah has named the city as Taba.'"

وَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ سَمَّى الْمَدِينَةَ طَابَةَ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Indeed, Allah named the city as Taba."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ سَمَّى الْمَدِينَةَ طَابَةَ

[AI] It was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about Al-Madinah, so he said: "Indeed, Allah has named Al-Madinah as 'Tābāh'." Jabir said, "And I heard him (the Prophet) saying this."

ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ هُوَ سَمَّى الْمَدِينَةَ طَابَةَ قَالَ جَابِرٌ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُهُ

[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Indeed, Allah named the city as Ta'aba.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ سَمَّى الْمَدِينَةَ طَابَةَ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Indeed, Allah named it Tabah.' Surayj said, 'Yathrib is the city.'"

رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ سَمَّاهَا طَابَةَ قَالَ سُرَيْجٌ يَثْرِبُ الْمَدِينَةُ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Indeed, Allah named the city as Ta'ba."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ سَمَّى الْمَدِينَةَ طَابَةَ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Those who love each other for the sake of Allah will be in the shade of the Throne on the Day of Judgment.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْمُتَحَابُّونَ فِي اللهِ فِي ظِلِّ الْعَرْشِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[AI] "For me, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has the keys to paradise: witnessing that there is no god but Allah."

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَفَاتِيحُ الْجَنَّةِ شَهَادَةُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ

The Messenger of Allah said: 'Woe to the heels because of Hell-fire.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 451)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَيْلٌ لِلْأَعْقَابِ مِنَ النَّارِ

[AI] "O servant of Rahman, perform the ablution well, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Woe to the heels from the Fire!'"

يَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ أَحْسِنِ الْوُضُوءَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَيْلٌ لِلْأَعْقَابِ مِنَ النَّارِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ was asked which actions are the best, and he replied: "Belief in Allah and Jihad in the cause of Allah, and performing the Hajj pilgrimage which is accepted." Abu Abdullah Al-Rahman said, "Or performing the accepted Hajj pilgrimage."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ الْإِيمَانُ بِاللهِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَحَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَوْ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Praying on time."

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا

"No one hoards but a sinner."' (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2154)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَحْتَكِرُ إِلَّا خَاطِئٌ

“Going out in the morning in the cause of Allah, or in the evening, is more virtuous than the world and what is in it.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2755)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ غَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا

[AI] She heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and a man asked him about the best deeds. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ responded, "Prayer at its appointed time."

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنْ أَفْضَلِ الْأَعْمَالِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الصَّلَاةُ لِأَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا

[AI] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Which action is the best?" He said, "Praying at the beginning of its prescribed time." I asked, "Then which action?" He said, "Jihad in the cause of Allah." I asked, "Then which action?" He said, "Being dutiful to one's parents."

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ فِي أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟ قَالَ «الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟ قَالَ «بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which action is the best?" He replied, "Offering the prayer at its earliest time."

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ فِي أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا»

“I asked Jabir bin ‘Abdullah about hyenas: ‘Are they game (that can be hunted)?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ I said: ‘Can I eat them?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ I said: ‘Is this something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?’ He said: ‘Yes.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3236)

قُلْتُ أَيُؤْكَلُ الضَّبُعُ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» قُلْتُ أَصَيْدٌ هِيَ؟ قَالَ أَسَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me and said, "Call upon the people, whoever says, 'There is no deity except Allah', will enter Paradise."

بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «نَادِ فِي النَّاسِ مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ»

[AI] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, which action is the best?" He said, "Faith in Allah and striving in His path."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِهِ»

"A man asked the Prophet 'O Messenger of Allah, which deed is best?' He said: 'Jihad in the cause of Allah.' He said: 'Then what?' He said: 'then Hajj Al-Mabrir.''' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2624)

سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الْإِيمَانُ بِاللَّهِ» قَالَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ» قَالَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ»

[AI] The messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever says, 'There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah,' will enter Paradise." So I asked, "Even if he commits adultery or steals?" He replied, "Even if he commits adultery or steals."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ» فَقُلْتُ وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ؟ قَالَ «وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever bears witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah sincerely from their heart will enter paradise."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ شَهِدَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ مُخْلِصًا مِنْ قَلْبِهِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ»

“Whoever dies knowing that there is no god but Allah will enter Paradise.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 464)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ مَاتَ وَهُوَ يَعْلَمُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Remorse is repentance." He (the person being addressed) said, "Yes."

سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ»؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ naming the city Tabah.

«سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَمَّى الْمَدِينَةَ طَابَةَ»

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 'Indeed, 'Amr bin Al-'As is from among the righteous of the Quraish.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3845)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ مِنْ صَالِحِي قُرَيْشٍ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "O Amr, you possess wise judgment in Islam."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَا عَمْرُو إِنَّكَ لَذُو رَأْيٍ رَشِيدٍ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ»

"I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: 'Whoever fights to protect his wealth and is killed, he is a martyr.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4084)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Indeed, Allah does not like obscenity and vulgarity."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْفَاحِشَ الْمُتَفَحِّشَ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "There is no usury (riba) in hand to hand transactions. Usury is only found in debt."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا رِبًا فِي يَدٍ بِيَدٍ إِنَّمَا الرِّبَا فِي الدَّيْنِ»
