31. Musnad of Women (1/26)
[Machine] Fatimah passed away when she was 28 years old. Her birth took place while the Quraysh were building the Kaaba, and the Quraysh completed the construction seven years and six months before the Prophet's ﷺ prophethood. The Prophet ﷺ resided in Mecca for ten years after his prophethood before he migrated. He lived in Medina for ten more years, and Fatimah survived for six months after that. She passed away in the 11th year of the Hijra.
[Machine] On the Day of Judgment, it will be said, "O people, lower your gazes until Fatimah, the daughter of Muhammad, passes by." Then she will pass by with two green or red garments upon her.
[Machine] "I used to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissing Fatimah, so I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I see you doing something that I did not see you doing before.' He said to me, 'O Humayrah, when I was taken on the Night Journey to the heavens, I was admitted into Paradise. I stood by a tree from the trees of Paradise, and I did not see in Paradise a tree that was more beautiful than it or whiter in leaves or sweeter in fruit. So I took a fruit from its fruit and ate it, and it became a sperm in my loins. When I descended to the earth, I married Khadijah, and she bore Fatimah. So whenever I long for the fragrance of Paradise, I smell the scent of Fatimah. O Humayrah, indeed Fatimah is not like the women of human beings, and she does not menstruate as they menstruate.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Fatimah, "Indeed, Allah becomes angry when you become angry, and He becomes pleased when you become pleased."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pass by the house of Fatimah for six months when he would go out for the Fajr prayer, and he would say the prayer: "Indeed, Allah desires to repel impurity from you, O people of the household, and purify you with a thorough purification."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَمُرُّ بِبَيْتِ فَاطِمَةَ سِتَّةَ أَشْهُرٍ إِذَا خَرَجَ إِلَى صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ وَيَقُولُ الصَّلَاةُ {إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا}
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Among the women of the world, Maryam, the daughter of Imran, Khadijah, the daughter of Khuwaylid, Asiyah, the daughter of Muzahim, the wife of Pharaoh, and Fatimah, the daughter of Muhammad ﷺ , are sufficient for you."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best women of the world are Maryam bint Imran, Asiya bint Muzahim, Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, and Fatimah bint Muhammad ﷺ ."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This is an angel from the angels who sought permission from his Lord to greet me and visit me. He did not descend down to the earth before this moment, and he gave me glad tidings that Hasan and Husayn are the leaders of the youth of Paradise and their mother is the leader of the women of Paradise."
[Machine] The translation of the given passage is as follows: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'An angel from heaven had never visited me until he sought permission from Allah to visit me, and he informed me, or he told me, that Fatimah is the leader of the women of my nation.'"
[Machine] "I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , who among your family is the most beloved to you? He said, 'My daughter Fatimah is the most beloved to me.'"
[Machine] I entered with my aunt to Aisha and I said, "O mother of the believers, who was the most beloved person to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" She said, "Fatimah."
[Machine] My aunt, O Mother of the believers, said, "His beloved person to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is his daughter Fatimah."
[Machine] He told him that he heard the Prophet ﷺ on the pulpit saying, "Indeed, my daughter, is a part of me that displeases me with what displeases her and hurts me with what hurts her."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) ascended the pulpit and praised Allah and glorified Him, then he said, "Indeed, my daughter, meaning Fatimah, is a part of me that grieves me when she is aggrieved and hurts me when she is hurt."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Fatimah is part of me. Whoever angers her, angers me."
[Machine] Ali proposed to the daughter of Abu Jahl, and this news reached the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Indeed, Fatimah is a part of me, whatever hurts her hurts me, and whatever angers her angers me."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Fatimah is part of me. Whatever angers her, angers me, and whatever pleases her, pleases me."
[Machine] Ali ibn Abi Talib proposed to me and the news reached Fatimah, so she went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Indeed, Asma is married to Ali." He said, "It was not permissible for her to hurt Allah and His Messenger."
[Machine] One day, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon Fatima and Ali while she was lying down and their children were beside her. Hasan asked for water, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to get it for them. Then, Hussain woke up and started crying, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wanted to soothe him and let him drink before Hasan. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Your brother asked for water before you." Fatima said, "It seems that Hasan has a higher status in your eyes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "He does not have a higher status than Hussain in my eyes. They both have the same status in my eyes, and you and I, and they both, and this sleeping child, will all be in the same place on the Day of Judgment."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ entered upon us while I was sleeping, so Hasan woke up and went to get us water from the pitcher. Then he brought a container and Hussain stood up to get water from it. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Your brother has already gotten water and drank from it, and then you can drink." Fatima said, "It seems that you love them more than you love me." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "They are not dearer to me than you, and they both occupy the same place with me. You, me, both of them, and this sleeper are all in the same place."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Fatimah has protected her chastity, so Allah has made her and her offspring forbidden from the Fire."
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew four lines on the ground and said, "Do you know what this is?" They said, Allah and his Messenger know best. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best of women among the people of Jannah are: (1) Khadījah b. Khuwaylid, (2) Fatimah b. Muḥammad, (3) Maryam b. ‘Imran, and (4) ‘Āsiyah b. Muzāḥim, the wife of Pharaoh." (Using translation from Aḥmad 2901)
[Machine] I will tell you a hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I continuously sought testimony for this hadith but I was not blessed with it. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the Battle of Tabuk saying, "Indeed, Allah commanded me to marry Fatimah to Ali, so I did." Jibril ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah has built a paradise made of pearls, with every pearl connected to another by a pearl made of rubies, surrounded by gold. He made its ceilings emerald green and placed within it clusters of pearls adorned with rubies. Then He made rooms of silver, gold, pearls, rubies, and emerald. He then placed springs that flow in its surroundings and bordered them with rivers. He made domes of pearls on these rivers that were intertwined with golden chains and adorned with various types of trees. In each branch, He built a dome and placed within each dome a bed made of white pearls, covered with silk and brocade. He carpeted its floors with saffron, perfumed it with musk and amber, and opened it with musk and amber. He placed a Hoor in each dome, and each dome has one hundred doors, with two guards at each door. He placed two trees as a canopy in each dome, and there is a written book around the domes containing Ayat Al-Kursi. I said, 'O Jibril, for whom did Allah build this paradise?' He said, 'He built it for Fatimah, your daughter, and Ali, son of Abu Talib, except for their gardens, which are a gift for them. O Messenger of Allah, enjoy and delight your eyes with it.'"
[Machine] Abu Bakr came to the Prophet ﷺ and sat in front of him. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, you already know about my advice and my contributions to Islam. Indeed, I have something to ask you." The Prophet ﷺ said, "What is it?" Abu Bakr said, "Marry me to Fatimah." The Prophet ﷺ remained silent or turned away from him. Abu Bakr then returned to Umar and said, "I am ruined and ruined! Umar asked, "Why is that?" Abu Bakr replied, "I proposed to Fatimah to marry her to the Prophet ﷺ, but he turned away from me." Umar said, "He is waiting for the command of Allah regarding her. Let us go to Ali so that we may ask him to do the same." Ali came to me while I was on a journey, and they informed me that my cousin is being proposed for marriage. This alerted me, so I quickly gathered the ends of my cloak onto my shoulder and the other end on the ground until I reached the Prophet ﷺ. I sat in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, you are well-aware of my contributions to Islam and my advice. Indeed, I have something to ask you." The Prophet ﷺ said, "What is it, O Ali?" I said, "Marry me to Fatimah." He asked, "What do you have?" I replied, "My horse and armor," indicating my readiness to give them as a dowry. He said, "As for your horse, you will need it. But as for your armor, sell it." So I sold it for 480 dirhams and brought it to the Prophet ﷺ. I placed it in his room, and he took a handful from it and said to Bilal, "Use this to procure some good meat for us." Then he made a bed for it with a piece of cloth and a pillow filled with palm fibers, and he filled the house with sand (to act as bedding) and said, "When it comes to you, do not say anything until I come to you." So she (Fatimah) came with Umm Ayman and sat on one side of the house while I sat on the other. The Prophet ﷺ came and said, "Here is my brother." Umm Ayman said, "Your brother has married your daughter." Then the Prophet ﷺ entered and said to Fatimah, "Bring me some water." She stood up and went to fetch water from a pot in the house, and she brought it to him. He spat into it, then he said to her, "Stand up." She stood up, and he sprinkled it on her chest and head, and said, "O Allah, I seek refuge for her and her progeny from the accursed Satan." Then he said to her, "Turn around." She turned around, and he sprinkled it between her shoulders, saying the same words. Then he said, "Bring me some water." So I did as he wanted, filling the pot with water and bringing it to him. He took a handful of water from it, and spat into it as before. Then he poured it over his head and hands, saying the same words. Then he said, "Enter upon your family in the name of Allah and with His blessings."

He asked her, "Who instructed you to do this?" She replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ." Ali then left, hurrying to Fatimah, seeking the opinion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "She has spoken the truth, she has spoken the truth."

[Machine] A man came to Fatimah, the daughter of the messenger of Allah, pbuh, and said, "O daughter of the messenger of Allah, did the messenger of Allah, pbuh, leave anything with you that you can give to me?" She replied, "O maid, bring me that piece of cloth." So I searched for it but could not find it. She said, "Oh no, search for it, for it is of value to me, both in terms of beauty and significance." So I looked for it and suddenly it was in her hand. Upon it, Muhammad, pbuh, said, "A believer is not one who does not fulfill the needs of his neighbor. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest. And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not harm his neighbor. And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak that which is good or remain silent." Indeed, Allah loves those who are modest, patient, weak, and self-restraining, and He abhors those who are obscene, vulgar, inquisitive, and meddlesome. Verily, modesty is a part of faith, and faith is in Paradise, while obscenity is a part of impudence, and impudence is in Hellfire."

So I laughed, and some of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ saw her and said, "We saw you crying and then laughing." She said, "He told me that I received news about myself, so I cried." So I laughed.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ walked ahead of her, so she cried, then he walked behind her, and she laughed. Aisha said, 'I have never seen anyone laugh so close to crying like today.' I said to Fatimah, 'Tell me what he said to you.' She said, 'I was doing what I usually do, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw me in your place. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away, he asked me, and I said, 'Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, Jibril would oppose me with the Quran once every year, and he has opposed me twice this year, and I do not see him except when I am called by him. So fear Allah." I became sorrowful, then he comforted me and said, 'Are you not pleased that your husband was the first of the Muslims to embrace Islam and the most knowledgeable among them?' For indeed, you are the leader of the women of my Ummah, just as Maryam (Mary) was the leader of the women of her people.'"

[Machine] Aisha used to say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Fatimah during his illness at the time of his death: "O my daughter, lean on me." So she leaned on him and whispered to him for a while, then she uncovered herself while she was crying, and Aisha was present. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said after that, after an hour: "Lean on me, O my daughter." So she leaned on him and whispered to him for an hour, then she uncovered herself and she laughed. Aisha said: So I said: O my daughter, tell me what your father whispered to you. So Fatimah said: Now he has whispered to me on a secret that I thought he was informing me of while he was alive, and it was difficult for Aisha that it should be a secret without her knowing it. So when Allah took him (in death), Aisha said to Fatimah: O my daughter, could you not tell me that secret? She said: As for now, he (Gabriel) has whispered to me on the first occasion that Gabriel used to dispute with him concerning the recitation of the Qur'an once every year, and he disputed with him concerning recitation of the Qur'an twice in the last year. And he informed me that he informed him that there is no Prophet but he lived half of the life of the Prophet before him. And he informed me that Jesus, son of Mary, lived for one hundred and twenty years, and I do not see myself except about to die at the beginning of sixty. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wept due to that and said: O my daughter, there is no Muslim woman who is more afflicted with adversity than you. So do not be inferior to any woman in patience. And he whispered to me on the second occasion and informed me that I am the first of his family to join him (in death). And he said: You are the mistress of the women of the people of Paradise, except that Maryam, daughter of 'Imran, was a virgin. So she laughed at that.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to her one day and said, "Where are my sons?" referring to Hasan and Husayn. She replied, "We woke up and there is nothing in our house that they can taste." Ali said, "I will take them, for I fear that they will cry for you and you have nothing with you." So he went to a certain Jew, and the Prophet ﷺ followed him and found them playing with some dates in front of them. He said, "O Ali, won't you turn my sons over before the heat becomes intense for them?" Ali replied, "We woke up and there is nothing in our house. If you sit, O Prophet of Allah, until I gather some dates for Fatimah." So the Prophet ﷺ sat until some dates were gathered for Fatimah, and he put them in a piece of cloth. Then he turned to carry one of them, while I carried the other, until we turned them over.

[Machine] From Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , that she brought Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in his illness, and she said, "O Messenger of Allah, these are your sons, so leave them something." He said, "As for Al-Hasan, he has my appearance and my mannerism, and as for Al-Husayn, he has my bravery and my generosity."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a son named Qasim who was his oldest child. Then he had a daughter named Zainab. He said that Zainab, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , was with Abu Al-A's ibn Al-Rabi' ibn Abdil-Uzza ibn Abd Shams. She gave birth to Ali and Umamah. Ali was being breastfed by Banu Ghadirah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took him and separated him from his father who was a polytheist at that time. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever shares with me anything, I have more right to it. And whoever shares with a Muslim in something while being a disbeliever, then the Muslim has more right to it than him." Al-Zubair said, "Umar bin Abu Bakr al-Mu'ammar narrated to me and said, 'Ali bin Abu Al-A's ibn Al-Rabi' ibn Zainab, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , passed away when he was almost an adolescent. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ carried him on his horse on the day of the conquest.'"

He granted her permission, so she went to the Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ . Then Abu Al-As ibn Al-Rabi' followed her to Medina and sent a message to her saying, "Take from your father an assurance."
