I am performing ablution because of having eaten pieces of cheese, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Perform ablution (after eating anything) touched by fire.

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَتَوَضَّأُ عَلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا أَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ أَثْوَارِ أَقِطٍ أَكَلْتُهَا لأَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said. Perform ablution (after eating) anything touched by fire.

سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ تَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Perform ablution after eating anything which has been cooked by fire.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْوُضُوءُ مِمَّا أَنْضَجَتِ النَّارُ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Perform Wudu' from that which has been touched by fire.'"

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The lost animal of the Muslim may lead to the burning flame of Hell.' ” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2502)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَقُ النَّارِ»

[AI] "Do you know what I am performing ablution with? It is from the leaves of a plant called aqit, which I have consumed. Verily, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Perform ablution with the water that has been touched by fire.'"

أَتَدْرِي مِمَّا أَتَوَضَّأُ؟ مِنْ أَثْوَارِ أَقِطٍ أَكَلْتُهَا إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

[AI] He informed him that he found Abu Hurairah performing ablution at the back of the mosque. Abu Hurairah said, "I am performing ablution with the remnants of a sheep that I had eaten because the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Perform ablution with what the fire has touched.'"

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَتَوَضَّأُ عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ إِنَّمَا أَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ أَثْوَارِ أَقِطٍ أَكَلْتُهَا لِأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

[AI] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "Perform ablution with that which has cooled down the fire."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا أَنْضَجَتِ النَّارُ

"Perform Wudu' from that which has been heated with fire." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 178)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Perform ablution after (eating) that which has been changed by fire.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 486)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ وَلَوْ مِنْ تَوْرِ أَقِطٍ

“I asked Jabir bin ‘Abdullah about hyenas: ‘Are they game (that can be hunted)?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ I said: ‘Can I eat them?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ I said: ‘Is this something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?’ He said: ‘Yes.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3236)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who fasts."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ السَّائِمَةُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Perform ablution after eating anything which has been cooked by fire. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 194)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا أَنْضَجَتِ النَّارُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Fear the fire, even if it is with half a date."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of the fire, even if it's with half a date."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Perform Wudu' from that which has been touched by fire.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 171)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا غَيَّرَتِ النَّارُ لَوْنَهُ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Perform Wudu' from that which has been touched by fire.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 171)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا غَيَّرَتِ النَّارُ لَوْنَهُ

This tradition has also been transmitted by Sa'd (b. Abi Waqqas) from the Prophet ﷺ in a similar manner through a different chain of narrators. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1470)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The lost animal of the Muslim may lead to the burning flame of Hell.' ” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2502)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَقُ النَّارِ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The lost animal of the Muslim may lead to the burning flame of Hell.' ” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2502)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَقُ النَّارِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The straying of a Muslim is like the burning of fire."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَقُ النَّارِ

"Perform Wudu' from that which has been heated with fire." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 178)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Perform Wudu' from that which has been touched by fire.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 171)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ about Wudu: "From the things that have touched the fire."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الْوُضُوءِ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

'Perform Wudu' from that which has been touched by fire.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 175)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Perform ablution after (eating) that which has been changed by fire.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 486)

أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Perform Wudu' from that which has been touched by fire.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 171)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The lost animal of the Muslim may lead to the burning flame of Hell.' ” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2502)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرْقُ النَّارِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said. Perform ablution (after eating) anything touched by fire. (Using translation from Muslim 353)

الزُّبَيْرِسَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ تَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of the Hellfire, even if it is with half a date."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّتَمْرَةٍ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to kiss me when he was fasting and when I was fasting. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2384)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُنِي وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ

"Perform Wudu' from that which has been heated with fire." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 178)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ : Perform ablution from what the fire has touched.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ

[AI] We were with Abu Hurairah when Hasan ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib came to us and greeted us with peace. We returned the greeting, but Abu Hurairah did not notice him. So we said to him, "O Abu Hurairah, Hasan ibn Ali greeted us with peace." He followed him and said, "And peace be upon you, my master." Then he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'He is a master.'"

كُنَّا مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَجَاءَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ عَلَيْنَا فَسَلَّمَ فَرَدَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ وَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِهِ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ هَذَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَدْ سَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا فَلَحِقَهُ وَقَالَ وَعَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ يَا سَيِّدِي ثُمَّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّهُ سَيِّدٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Interacting with people kindly is an act of charity."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مُدَارَاةُ النَّاسِ صَدَقَةٌ»

It was reported that Jabir (ra) said "That last of the two matters from the Messenger ofAllah ﷺ was leaving off ablution from that which had been touched by fire." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 185)

«كَانَ آخِرُ الْأَمْرَيْنِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَرْكُ الْوُضُوءِ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ»

[AI] Abu Hurayrah ate a rib of a sheep, then he performed ablution (wudu). Afterwards, he said, "Do you know why I performed ablution? I ate a rib of a sheep. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Perform ablution from whatever has touched the fire.'"

أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَكَلَ أَثْوَارَ أَقِطٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَتَدْرُونَ لِمَ تَوَضَّأْتُ؟ إِنِّي أَكَلْتُ أَثْوَارَ أَقِطٍ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «تَوَضَّأْ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ»

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Perform ablution with the water that touched the fire."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «تَوَضَّأْ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to kiss me when he was fasting and when I was fasting. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2384)

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُنِي وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ»

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The lost animal of the Muslim may lead to the burning flame of Hell.' ” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2502)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَقُ النَّارِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "People will be gathered barefoot, naked and uncircumcised."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يُحْشَرُ النَّاسُ حُفَاةً عُرَاةً غُرْلًا»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "People will be gathered barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يُحْشَرُ النَّاسُ حُفَاةً عُرَاةً غُرْلًا»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The misguidance of a Muslim is like burning fire."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرْقُ النَّارِ»

from the Prophet, ﷺ : "The lost ˹property˺ of a Muslim ˹leads to˺ the burning fire."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرْقُ النَّارِ»

[AI] Translated passage: The Prophet ﷺ said, "The astray Muslim is the fuel of hellfire."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرْقُ النَّارِ»

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "A lost Muslim is similar to the burning in the fire."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرْقُ النَّارِ»

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The lost animal of the Muslim may lead to the burning flame of Hell.' ” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2502)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرْقُ النَّارِ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «ضَالَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِ حَرْقُ النَّارِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to "perform ablution when he ate something that alters the smell of the mouth or comes from the fire."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ «إِذَا أَكَلَ مِمَّا غَيَّرَتِ النَّارُ تَوَضَّأَ»
