Every intoxicant is unlawful

that he Prophet ﷺ sent him to Yemen, and he asked him about drinks that were made there. He asked, “What are they?” He replied, *“Bit' and Mizr.” I said to Abu Burdah, “What is Bit‘?” He said, “It is honey wine, and Mizr is barley wine.” So he said, “Every intoxicant is forbidden.”

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ أَشْرِبَةٍ تُصْنَعُ بِهَا۔ فَقَالَ: «وَمَا هِيَ؟» قَالَ: الْبِتْعُ وَالْمِزْرُ۔ فَقُلْتُ لأَبِي بُرْدَةَ: مَا الْبِتْعُ؟ قَالَ: نَبِيذُ الْعَسَلِ وَالْمِزْرُ نَبِيذُ الشَّعِيرِ۔ فَقَالَ: «كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ».

That the Prophet ﷺ sent his (i.e. Abu Burda's) grandfather, Abu Musa and Muʿadh to Yemen and said to both of them "Facilitate things for the people (Be kind and lenient) and do not make things difficult (for people), and give them good tidings, and do not repulse them and both of you should obey each other." Abu Musa said, "O Allah's Prophet! In our land there is an alcoholic drink (prepared) from barley called Al-Mizr, and another (prepared) from honey, called Al-Bit"' The Prophet ﷺ said, "All intoxicants are prohibited." Then both of them proceeded and Muʿadh asked Abu Musa, "How do you recite the Qur'an?" Abu Musa replied, "I recite it while I am standing, sitting or riding my riding animals, at intervals and piecemeal." Muʿadh said, "But I sleep and then get up. I sleep and hope for Allah's Reward for my sleep as I seek His Reward for my night prayer." Then he (i.e. Muʿadh) pitched a tent and they started visiting each other. Once Muʿadh paid a visit to Abu Musa and saw a chained man. Muʿadh asked, "What is this?" Abu Musa said, "(He was) a Jew who embraced Islam and has now turned apostate." Muʿadh said, "I will surely chop off his neck!"

بَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ جَدَّهُ أَبَا مُوسَى وَمُعَاذًا إِلَى الْيَمَنِ فَقَالَ يَسِّرَا وَلاَ تُعَسِّرَا وَبَشِّرَا وَلاَ تُنَفِّرَا وَتَطَاوَعَا فَقَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَرْضَنَا بِهَا شَرَابٌ مِنَ الشَّعِيرِ الْمِزْرُ وَشَرَابٌ مِنَ الْعَسَلِ الْبِتْعُ فَقَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ فَانْطَلَقَا فَقَالَ مُعَاذٌ لأَبِي مُوسَى كَيْفَ تَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ قَالَ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا وَعَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ وَأَتَفَوَّقُهُ تَفَوُّقًا قَالَ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأَنَامُ وَأَقُومُ فَأَحْتَسِبُ نَوْمَتِي كَمَا أَحْتَسِبُ قَوْمَتِي وَضَرَبَ فُسْطَاطًا فَجَعَلاَ يَتَزَاوَرَانِ فَزَارَ مُعَاذٌ أَبَا مُوسَى فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ مُوثَقٌ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا فَقَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى يَهُودِيٌّ أَسْلَمَ ثُمَّ ارْتَدَّ فَقَالَ مُعَاذٌ لأَضْرِبَنَّ عُنُقَهُ

The Prophet [SAW] said: "Every intoxicant is unlawful and every intoxicant is Khamr."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful and every intoxicant is Khamr.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ قَالَ أَحْمَدُ وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Every intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is unlawful.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

The Prophet [SAW] said: "Every intoxicant is unlawful and every intoxicant is Khamr."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ

The Prophet [SAW] said: "Every intoxicant is unlawful."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade soaking (fruits) in Ad-Dubba', Al-Muzaffat, An-Naqir, Al-Hantam, and every intoxicant is unlawful.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ يُنْبَذَ فِي الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

The Prophet [SAW] said: "Do not soak (fruits) in Ad-Dubba', An-Naqir, Al-Hantam, and every intoxicant is unlawful."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ تَنْبِذُوا فِي الدُّبَّاءِ وَلاَ الْمُزَفَّتِ وَلاَ النَّقِيرِ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"I heard 'Ata' being asked by a man: 'We travel and drinks are offered to us in the marketplaces, and we do not know what kind of vessels they were prepared in.' He said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.' He repeated the question and he said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.' He repeated the question and he said: 'It is as I have told you.'"

إِنَّا نَرْكَبُ أَسْفَارًا فَتُبْرَزُ لَنَا الأَشْرِبَةُ فِي الأَسْوَاقِ لاَ نَدْرِي أَوْعِيَتَهَا فَقَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ فَذَهَبَ يُعِيدُ فَقَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ فَذَهَبَ يُعِيدُ فَقَالَ هُوَ مَا أَقُولُ لَكَ

"Every intoxicant is unlawful."

كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"Umar bin 'Abdul-Aziz wrote to us, saying: 'Do not drink the thickened juice of grapes (obtained by boiling it down) until two-third of it has gone and one-third is left. And every intoxicant is unlawful.'"

كَتَبَ إِلَيْنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ لاَ تَشْرَبُوا مِنَ الطِّلاَءِ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ ثُلُثَاهُ وَيَبْقَى ثُلُثُهُ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"Umar bin 'Abdul-'Aziz wrote to 'Adiy bin Artah (saying): 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.'"

كَتَبَ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ إِلَى عَدِيِّ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "Every intoxicant is unlawful."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] sent me to Yemen and I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, there are drinks there which they call Al-Bit' (mead) and Al-Mizr (beer).' He said: 'What is mead (and beer)?' I said: 'A drink made from honey, and beer is made from barley.' He said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.'"

بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ بِهَا أَشْرِبَةً يُقَالُ لَهَا الْبِتْعُ وَالْمِزْرُ قَالَ وَمَا الْبِتْعُ وَالْمِزْرُ قُلْتُ شَرَابٌ يَكُونُ مِنَ الْعَسَلِ وَالْمِزْرُ يَكُونُ مِنَ الشَّعِيرِ قَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] delivered a Khutbah and quoted the Verse about Khamr. A man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you think about Al-Mizr (beer)?' He said: 'What is beer?' He said: 'A (drink) from grains that is made in Yemen.' He said: 'Does it intoxicate?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.'"

خَطَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ آيَةَ الْخَمْرِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ الْمِزْرَ قَالَ وَمَا الْمِزْرُ قَالَ حَبَّةٌ تُصْنَعُ بِالْيَمَنِ فَقَالَ تُسْكِرُ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

While the Messenger of Allah [SAW] was walking, he approached some people and heard a confused noise coming from them. He said: "What is this noise?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, they have a drink that they drink." He sent for those people and said: "In what do you soak (fruit - to make that drink)?" They said: "We soak (fruits) in vessels carved from wood and gourds, and we have no water skins (that can be closed)." He said: "Do not drink except from a vessel that can be tied closed." Then as much time as Allah willed passed, then he went back to them and they had fallen sick and become pallid. He said: "Why do you look so ill?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, our land is unhealthy and you forbade to us everything except that which was in a vessel that could be tied closed." He said: "Drink, but every intoxicant is unlawful."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَيْنَا هُوَ يَسِيرُ إِذْ حَلَّ بِقَوْمٍ فَسَمِعَ لَهُمْ لَغَطًا فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا الصَّوْتُ قَالُوا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ شَرَابٌ يَشْرَبُونَهُ فَبَعَثَ إِلَى الْقَوْمِ فَدَعَاهُمْ فَقَالَ فِي أَىِّ شَىْءٍ تَنْتَبِذُونَ قَالُوا نَنْتَبِذُ فِي النَّقِيرِ وَالدُّبَّاءِ وَلَيْسَ لَنَا ظُرُوفٌ فَقَالَ لاَ تَشْرَبُوا إِلاَّ فِيمَا أَوْكَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ فَلَبِثَ بِذَلِكَ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَلْبَثَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَإِذَا هُمْ قَدْ أَصَابَهُمْ وَبَاءٌ وَاصْفَرُّوا قَالَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ قَدْ هَلَكْتُمْ قَالُوا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ أَرْضُنَا وَبِيئَةٌ وَحَرَّمْتَ عَلَيْنَا إِلاَّ مَا أَوْكَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ قَالَ اشْرَبُوا وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"Every intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is unlawful."

كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "Allah has forbidden Khamr, and every intoxicant is unlawful."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ الْخَمْرَ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful and every intoxicant is Khamr.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَهَؤُلاَءِ أَهْلُ الثَّبْتِ وَالْعَدَالَةِ مَشْهُورُونَ بِصِحَّةِ النَّقْلِ وَعَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ لاَ يَقُومُ مَقَامَ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ وَلَوْ عَاضَدَهُ مِنْ أَشْكَالِهِ جَمَاعَةٌ وَبِاللَّهِ التَّوْفِيقُ

A man from (the tribe of) Jaishan, who are from Yemen, came and asked the Messenger of Allah [SAW] about a drink that they drank in his homeland that was made of corn and called Al-Mizr (beer). The Prophet [SAW] said to him: "Is it an intoxicant?" He said: "Yes." The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "Every intoxicant is unlawful. Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has promised the one who drinks intoxicants that He will give him to drink from the mud of Khibal." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is the mud of Khibal?" He said: "The sweat of the people of Hell," or he said: "The juice of the people of Hell."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً مِنْ جَيْشَانَ وَجَيْشَانُ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ قَدِمَ فَسَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ شَرَابٍ يَشْرَبُونَهُ بِأَرْضِهِمْ مِنَ الذُّرَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْمِزْرُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَمُسْكِرٌ هُوَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ إِنَّ اللَّهَ ﷻ عَهِدَ لِمَنْ شَرِبَ الْمُسْكِرَ أَنْ يَسْقِيَهُ مِنْ طِينَةِ الْخَبَالِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا طِينَةُ الْخَبَالِ قَالَ عَرَقُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ أَوْ قَالَ عُصَارَةُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ

"Umar bin 'Abdul-'Aziz wrote to us (saying): 'Do not drink At-Tila' (thickened grape juice) until two-third of it are gone and one-third remains, and every intoxicant is unlawful.'"

أَنْ لاَ تَشْرَبُوا مِنَ الطِّلاَءِ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ ثُلُثَاهُ وَيَبْقَى ثُلُثُهُ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"Every intoxicant is unlawful."

كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

Every intoxicant is forbidden. He who drinks wine in this world, and dies when he is addiction to it, will not drink it in the next.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَمَنْ مَاتَ وَهُوَ يَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ يُدْمِنُهَا لَمْ يَشْرَبْهَا فِي الآخِرَةِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Every intoxicant is khamr (wine) and every intoxicant is forbidden. If anyone drinks wine, Allah will not accept prayer from him for forty days, but if he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. If he repeats it a fourth time, it is binding on Allah that He will give him tinat al-khabal to drink. He was asked: What is tinat al-khabal, Messenger of Allah? He replied: Discharge of wounds, flowing from the inhabitants of Hell. If anyone serves it to a minor who does not distinguish between the lawful and the unlawful, it is binding on Allah that He will give him to drink the discharge of wounds, flowing from the inhabitants of Hell.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ مُخَمِّرٍ خَمْرٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَمَنْ شَرِبَ مُسْكِرًا بُخِسَتْ صَلاَتُهُ أَرْبَعِينَ صَبَاحًا فَإِنْ تَابَ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنْ عَادَ الرَّابِعَةَ كَانَ حَقًّا عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ يَسْقِيَهُ مِنْ طِينَةِ الْخَبَالِ قِيلَ وَمَا طِينَةُ الْخَبَالِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ صَدِيدُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ وَمَنْ سَقَاهُ صَغِيرًا لاَ يَعْرِفُ حَلاَلَهُ مِنْ حَرَامِهِ كَانَ حَقًّا عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ يَسْقِيَهُ مِنْ طِينَةِ الْخَبَالِ

I asked the prophet ﷺ about wine made from honey. He said: That is bit. I said: And the one made from barley and millet ? He said :That is mizr. He then said: Tell your people that every intoxicant is prohibited.

سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ شَرَابٍ مِنَ الْعَسَلِ فَقَالَ ذَاكَ الْبِتْعُ قُلْتُ وَيُنْتَبَذُ مِنَ الشَّعِيرِ وَالذُّرَةِ فَقَالَ ذَاكَ الْمِزْرُ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَخْبِرْ قَوْمَكَ أَنَّ كُلَّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

The Prophet ﷺ forbade wine (khamr), game of chance (maysir), drum (kubah), and wine made from millet (ghubayrah), saying: Every intoxicant is forbidden. Abu Dawud said: Ibn Sallam Abu 'Ubaid said: Ghubairah was an intoxicant liquor made from millet. This wine was made by the Abyssinians

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ وَالْكُوبَةِ وَالْغُبَيْرَاءِ وَقَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Every intoxicant is forbidden; if a faraq of anything causes intoxication, a handful of it is forbidden.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَمَا أَسْكَرَ مِنْهُ الْفَرْقُ فَمِلْءُ الْكَفِّ مِنْهُ حَرَامٌ

The deputation of ‘Abd al-Qais asked (the prophet):From which(vessels)should we drink ? He (the prophet) replied: Do not drink from the pumpkins, vessels smeared with pitch, and hollow stumps , and steep dates in skins. They asked: Messenger of Allah, if it ferments? He replied: infuse water in it. They asked: Messenger of Allah...” (repeating the same words). He replied to them third or fourth time: Pour it away. He then said: Allah has forbidden me, or he said: He has forbidden me wine, game of chance and kubah(drums). He said: Every intoxicant is unlawful. Sufyan said: I asked ‘All b. Badhimah about kubah . He replied: Drum.

أَنَّ وَفْدَ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِيمَ نَشْرَبُ قَالَ لاَ تَشْرَبُوا فِي الدُّبَّاءِ وَلاَ فِي الْمُزَفَّتِ وَلاَ فِي النَّقِيرِ وَانْتَبِذُوا فِي الأَسْقِيَةِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَإِنِ اشْتَدَّ فِي الأَسْقِيَةِ قَالَ فَصُبُّوا عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ أَوِ الرَّابِعَةِ أَهْرِيقُوهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَ عَلَىَّ أَوْ حُرِّمَ الْخَمْرُ وَالْمَيْسِرُ وَالْكُوبَةُ قَالَ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ فَسَأَلْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ بَذِيمَةَ عَنِ الْكُوبَةِ قَالَ الطَّبْلُ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Every intoxicant is unlawful.’”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

“Every intoxicant is unlawful.”

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ قَالَ ابْنُ مَاجَهْ هَذَا حَدِيثُ الْمِصْرِيِّينَ

“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘Every intoxicant is unlawful for every believer.’”

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ وَهَذَا حَدِيثُ الرَّقِّيِّينَ

“Every intoxicant is unlawful.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

“Every intoxicant is unlawful and whatever causes intoxication in large amounts, a small amount of it is (also) unlawful.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَمَا أَسْكَرَ كَثِيرُهُ فَقَلِيلُهُ حَرَامٌ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Rabia ibn Abi Abd ar-Rahman that Abu Said alKhudri returned from a journey and his family gave him some meat. He asked whether it was meat from the sacrifice. They replied that it was. Abu Said said, "Didn't the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid that?" They said, "There has been a new command from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ since you went away." Abu Said went out and made enquiries about it and was told that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said,"I forbade you before to eat meat of the sacrifice after three days, but now eat, give sadaqa and store up. I forbade you before to make nabidh (by soaking raisins or dates in water), but now make nabidh, but remember every intoxicant is haram .I forbade you to visit graves, but now visit them, and do not use bad language."

أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَقَدَّمَ إِلَيْهِ أَهْلُهُ لَحْمًا فَقَالَ انْظُرُوا أَنْ يَكُونَ هَذَا مِنْ لُحُومِ الأَضْحَى فَقَالُوا هُوَ مِنْهَا فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَلَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْهَا فَقَالُوا إِنَّهُ قَدْ كَانَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعْدَكَ أَمْرٌ فَخَرَجَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ فَسَأَلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَأُخْبِرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ لُحُومِ الأَضْحَى بَعْدَ ثَلاَثٍ فَكُلُوا وَتَصَدَّقُوا وَادَّخِرُوا وَنَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ الاِنْتِبَاذِ فَانْتَبِذُوا وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَنَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ زِيَارَةِ الْقُبُورِ فَزُورُوهَا وَلاَ تَقُولُوا هُجْرًا يَعْنِي لاَ تَقُولُوا سُوءًا

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allahﷺ he said: "Indeed, Allah has prohibited you from alcohol, gambling, and fortune-telling. And he said: Every intoxicant is forbidden."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمِ الْخَمْرَ وَالْمَيْسِرَ وَالْكُوبَةَ وَقَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, Allah has forbidden upon you alcohol, gambling, and statues. And He said, every intoxicant is forbidden."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْخَمْرَ وَالْمَيْسِرَ وَالْكُوبَةَ وَقَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Every intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is unlawful.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5585)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Every intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is unlawful.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5585)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

The Prophet [SAW] said: "Every intoxicant is unlawful." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5587)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

The Prophet [SAW] said: "Every intoxicant is unlawful and every intoxicant is Khamr." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5582)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

[Machine] About the white jar, the green jar, and the red jar? He said, "Indeed, the first ones to ask the Prophet ﷺ were the delegation of Abdul-Qays. They said, 'We have a share of the crop, so which irrigation method should we use?' He said, 'Do not water in stagnant water, mud containers, Nor in the "Nadir" (holes filled with seawater), nor in "Hantam" (a pond with brackish water), but irrigate using irrigation vessels.' Then he said, 'Indeed, Allah has prohibited me from alcohol, gambling, "coobah" (a wine container), and all intoxicants are forbidden.'

عَنِ الْجَرِّ الْأَبْيَضِ وَالْجَرِّ الْأَخْضَرِ وَالْجَرِّ الْأَحْمَرِ؟ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَنْ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَفْدُ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا نُصِيبُ مِنَ الثُّفْلِ فَأَيُّ الْأَسْقِيَةِ؟ فَقَالَ لَا تَشْرَبُوا فِي الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَاشْرَبُوا فِي الْأَسْقِيَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ عَلَيَّ أَوْحَرَّمَ الْخَمْرَ وَالْمَيْسِرَ وَالْكُوبَةَ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

[Machine] I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever attributes to me what I have not said, let him take his place in the fire. And he prohibited alcohol, gambling, drum (a musical instrument), and lute. And he said, every intoxicant is forbidden."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ قَالَ عَلَيَّ مَا لَمْ أَقُلْ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ وَنَهَى عَنِ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ وَالْكُوبَةِ وَالْغُبَيْرَاءِ قَالَ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Every intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is unlawful.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5585)

أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ

The Prophet [SAW] said: "Every intoxicant is unlawful and every intoxicant is Khamr." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5582)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ

“Every intoxicant is unlawful and whatever causes intoxication in large amounts, a small amount of it is (also) unlawful.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3392)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ مَاأَسْكَرَ كَثِيرُهُ فَقَلِيلُهُ حَرَامٌ

Every intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is forbidden. He who drinks wine in this world and dies while he is addicted to it, not having repented, will not be given a drink in the Hereafter. (Using translation from Muslim 2003a)

عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَفَعَ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَمَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا فَمَاتَ وَهُوَ مُدْمِنُهَا لَمْ يَتُبْ لَمْ يَشْرَبْهَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Every intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is unlawful.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5585)
