Collected by Bukhārī, Abū Dāwūd, Aḥmad, Ḥākim, Ibn Ḥibbān, Ṭabarānī, Nasāʾī's Kubrá, Bayhaqī, BazzārAbu ʿAbdur-Rahman and Hibban bin 'Atiyya had a dispute. Abu ʿAbdur-Rahman said to Hibban, "You know what made your companions (i.e. ʿAli) dare to shed blood." Hibban said, "Come on! What is that?" ʿAbdur-Rahman said, "Something I heard him saying." The other said, "What was it?" ʿAbdurRahman said, "ʿAli said, Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for me, Az-Zubair and Abu Marthad, and all of us were cavalry men, and said, 'Proceed to Raudat-Hajj (Abu Salama said that Abu 'Awana called it like this, i.e., Hajj where there is a woman carrying a letter from Hatib bin Abi Balta'a to the pagans (of Mecca). So bring that letter to me.' So we proceeded riding on our horses till we overtook her at the same place of which Messenger of Allah ﷺ had told us. She was traveling on her camel. In that letter Hatib had written to the Meccans about the proposed attached of Messenger of Allah ﷺ against them. We asked her, "Where is the letter which is with you?' She replied, 'I haven't got any letter.' So we made her camel kneel down and searched her luggage, but we did not find anything. My two companions said, 'We do not think that she has got a letter.' I said, 'We know that Messenger of Allah ﷺ has not told a lie.'" Then ʿAli took an oath saying, "By Him by Whom one should swear! You shall either bring out the letter or we shall strip off your clothes." She then stretched out her hand for her girdle (round her waist) and brought out the paper (letter). They took the letter to Messenger of Allah ﷺ. ʿUmar said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! (Hatib) has betrayed Allah, His Apostle and the believers; let me chop off his neck!" Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Hatib! What obliged you to do what you have done?" Hatib replied, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Why (for what reason) should I not believe in Allah and His Apostle? But I intended to do the (Mecca) people a favor by virtue of which my family and property may be protected as there is none of your companions but has some of his people (relatives) whom Allah urges to protect his family and property." The Prophet ﷺ said, "He has said the truth; therefore, do not say anything to him except good." ʿUmar again said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! He has betrayed Allah, His Apostle and the believers; let me chop his neck off!" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Isn't he from those who fought the battle of Badr? And what do you know, Allah might have looked at them (Badr warriors) and said (to them), 'Do what you like, for I have granted you Paradise?' " On that, ʿUmar's eyes became flooded with tears and he said, "Allah and His Apostle know best."

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out in the year of al-Hudaibbiyyah with over ten hundreds of Companions and when he came to Dhu al Hulaifah. He garlanded and marked the sacrificial animals, and entered the sacred state of Umrah. He then went on with the tradition. The Prophet moved on and when he came to the mountain, pass by which one descends (to Mecca) to them, his riding-beast knelt down, and the people said twice: Go on, go on, al-Qaswa has become jaded. The Prophet (May peace be upon him) said: She has not become jaded and that is not a characteristic of hers, but He Who restrained the elephant has restrained her. He then said: By Him in Whose hand my soul is, they will not ask any me good thing by which they honor which God has made sacred without my giving them it. He then urged her and she leaped up and he turned aside from them, and stopped at the farthest side of al-Hudaibiyyah at a pool with little water. Meanwhile Budail bin Warqa al-Khuza’I came, and ‘Urwah bin Mas’ud joined him. He began to speak to the Prophet ﷺ. Whenever he spoke to the Prophet ﷺ, he caught his beard. Al Mughriah bin Shu’bah was standing beside the Prophet ﷺ.He had a sword with him, wearing a helmet. He (Al Mughriah) struck his (‘Urwah’s) hand with the lower end of his sheath, and said: Keep away your hand from his beard. ‘Urwah then raised his hand and asked: Who is this? They replied: Al-Mughirah bin Shu’bah. He said: O treacherous one! Did I not use my offices in your treachery? In pre-Islamic days Al-Mughirah bin Shu’bah accompanied some people and murdered them, and took their property. He then came (to the Prophet) and embraced Islam. The Prophet ﷺ said: As for Islam we accepted it, but as to the property, as it has been taken by treachery, we have no need of it. He went on with the tradition the Prophet ﷺ said: Write down: This is what Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, has decided. He then narrated the tradition. Suhail then said: And that a man will not come to you from us, even if he follows your religion, without you sending him back to us. When he finished drawing up the document, the Prophet ﷺ said to his Companions: Get up and sacrifice and then shave. Thereafter some believing women who were immigrants came. (Allah sent down: O yea who believe, when believing women come to you as emigrants). Allah most high forbade them to send them back, but ordered them to restore the dower. He then returned to Medina. Abu Basir a man from the Quraish (who was a Muslim), came to him. And they sent (two men) to look for him; so he handed him over to the two men. They took him away, and when they reached Dhu Al Hulaifah and alighted to eat some dates which they had, Abu Basir said to one of the men : I swear by Allah so-and-so, that I think this sword of yours is a fine one; the other drew the sword and said : Yes I have tried it. Abu Basir said: Let me look at it. He let him have it and he struck him till he died, whereupon the other fled and came to Medina, and running entered the mosque. The Prophet ( may peace be upon him) said: This man has seen something frightful. He said: I swear by Allah that my Companion has been killed, and im as good as dead. Abu Basir then arrived and said: Allah has fulfilled your covenant. You returned me to them, but Allah saved me from them. The Prophet ﷺ said: Woe to his mother, stirrer up of war! Would that he had someone (i.e. some kinsfolk). When he heard that he knew that he would send him back to them, so he went out and came to the seashore. Abu Jandal escaped and joined Abu Basir till a band of them collected.

Abu ʿAbdur-Rahman as-Sulami and Hibban bin ʿAtiyyah had a dispute. ʿAbdur-Rahman said to Hibban: I know what made your companion - meaning ʿAli ؓ - audacious. He said: What is it, may you be bereft of your father? He said. Something I heard ʿAli ؓ say. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me, az-Zubair and Abu Marthad on a mission, and we were all horsemen. He said: ʿGo to Rawdat Khakh, for there you will find a woman who has a letter with her from Hatib bin Abi Baltaʿah to the mushrikeen; bring it to me.ʿ So we went on our horses until we caught up with her where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had told us, travelling on a camel of hers. He [Hatib] had written to the people of Makkah, telling them about the march of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We said to her. Where is the letter you have with you? She said: I do not have any letter. We made her camel kneel down and searched her luggage for it, but we did not find anything. My two companions said: We do not see any letter with her, I said: You know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not tell a lie. Then I swore: By the One by whom oaths are sworn, you will give us the letter or we will remove your clothes. She stretched out her hand to her girdle, which was wrapped around her, and brought out the letter. I brought it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and they said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he has betrayed Allah and His Messenger and the believers; let me strike his neck. He said: ʿO Hatib, what made you do what you did?ʿ He said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, by Allah, it is not that I do not believe in Allah and His Messenger, but I wanted to do a favour for the people by means of which Allah might protect my family and my property, for every one of your Companions has some of his people there through whom Allah will protect his family and his property. He said: You have spoken the truth, do not say anything to him but good.ʿ ʻUmar said: O, Messenger of Allah, he betrayed Allah and His Messenger and the believers, let me strike his neck. He said. ʿls he not one of the people of Badr? How do you know? Perhaps Allah looked upon them and said. “Do what you like, for Paradise is guaranteed for you.ʻʼ ʻUmarʻs eyes filled with tears and he said: Allah, may He be exalted, and His Messenger know best.

Three things loved by Allah and three that are disliked by Him
I used to love to meet him, so I met him and said to him, "O Abu Dharr, tell me something about yourself that I may love to meet you and ask you about it." He said, "You have already met, so ask." I said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'There are three whom Allah loves and three whom Allah hates.'" He said, "Yes, what prevents me from lying about my beloved Muhammad ﷺ three times."
I said, "Who are the three whom Allah loves?" He said, "(1) A man who fights in the way of Allah, meeting the enemy as a fighter, hoping for reward, until he is killed. And you find in the Book of Allah, 'Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause as if they are a compacted structure.' (2) And a man who has a neighbor who harms him, and he endures and seeks reward from Allah until Allah suffices him of it with death or life. (3) And a man who joins a group and practices with them until it becomes burdensome for them, so they camp at the end of the night, then he stands up for his ablution and prayer."
I said, "Who are the three whom Allah hates?" He said, "(1) The arrogant, boastful person. And you find in the Book of Allah, 'Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.' (2) The stingy, miserly person. (3) And the deceitful businessman."
I said, "O Abu Dharr, what about wealth?" He said, "It is a means for us to divide and taste, meaning that we divide a small herd of sheep." I said, "I am not asking about this. I am only asking you about the silent wealth." He said, "I neither have morning nor evening, and what is evening is not morning." I said, "O Abu Dharr, what about you and your Quraishi brothers?" He said, "By Allah, I do not ask them for the world, nor do I seek their advice about the religion of Allah until I meet Allah and His Messenger three times and say these words."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote to him in a red damask, so he took the letter from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and tore it to pieces. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then sent a military expedition, and they did not leave anyone, nor any scent, nor any sound, nor any family, nor any wealth except that they took it. He escaped naked on a horse that had no saddle until he reached his daughter, who was married in Bani Hilal and had embraced Islam, as did her family. The meeting of the people was in the courtyard of her house, so he circled until he entered upon her from behind the house. When she saw him, she threw a garment on him and said, "What is wrong with you?" He said, "All evil has befallen your father. Nothing was left for him, neither scent, nor sound, nor family, nor wealth, except that it was taken from him." She said, "I invited you to Islam." He said, "Where is your husband?" She said, "With the camels." So he went to him and said, "What is wrong with you?" He said, "All evil has befallen me. Nothing was left for me, neither scent, nor sound, nor family, nor wealth, except that it was taken from me. And I want Muhammad to be my guardian before my family and wealth are divided." He said, "Take my riding camel with its saddle." He said, "I have no need for it." So he took the shepherd's staff and provisioned himself with water. And he had a garment that he covered his face with, and when he covered his face, his back was exposed, and when he covered his back, his face was exposed, and he disliked being recognized until he reached the city. So he tied his riding camel and came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who was at his door, and when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Fajr, he said, "O Messenger of Allah, extend your hand so that I may pledge allegiance to you." He extended his hand, and when he was about to strike his hand, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew his hand to himself. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Messenger of Allah, this is the one I wrote to." So he struck his hand three times, drawing it towards himself, and he did the same after that. When it was the third time, he said, "Who are you?" He said, "I am the shepherd of Al-Sahimi." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then touched his arm and raised it and said, "O Muslims, this is the shepherd of Al-Sahimi, to whom I wrote, and he took my letter and tore it to pieces. I said to him, 'O Messenger of Allah, my family and my wealth?' He said, 'As for your wealth, it has been apportioned, and as for your family, whoever you can overpower from among them.'" So he went out, and his son recognized the riding camel while he was standing beside it, so he returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "This is my son." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Bilal, go out with him and ask his father, 'Is this your son?' If he says yes, then give him to him." So Bilal went to him and said, "Is this your son?" He said, "Yes." So he returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have never seen anyone as steadfast in loyalty to his companion as this man."

" Who is this?" They said: "Abu Hurairah." (He said):So I got close to him until I was sitting in front of him as he was narrating to the people. When he was silent and alone, I said to him: " I ask youabsolute truth if you would narrate to me a Hadith which you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, That you understand and know." So Abu Hurairah said: "You want me to narrate a Hadith to you which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated to me that I understand and know." Then Abu Hurairah began sobbing profusely. We sat for a while, then he recovered and said: "I shall narrate to you a Hadith which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated in this House, while there was no one with us other than he and I." Then, again, Abu Hurairah began sobbing severely. Then he recovered, and wiped his face, and said: "you want me to narrate to you a Hadith which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated while he and I were sitting in this House, and no one was with us but he and I." Then Abu Hurairah began sobbing severely. Then he bent, falling on his face, so I supported him for a long time. Then he recovered and said: "The Messenger of Allah narrated to me that on the Day of Judgement, Allah, Most High, will descend to His slaves t judge between them. Every nation shall be kneeling. The first of those who will be called before him will be a man who memorized the Qur'an, and a man who was killed in Allah's cause, and a wealthy man. Allah will say to the reciter: 'Did I not teach you what I revealed to My Messenger?" He says: 'Of course O Lord!' He says: 'Then what did you do with what you learned?' He said: 'I would stand (in prayer reciting) with it during all hours of the night and all hours of the day.' Then Allah would say to him: 'You have lied.' And the angels will say: 'You have lied.'Allah will say to him: 'Rather, you wanted it to be said that so-and-so is a reciter. And that was said.' The person with the wealth will be brought, and Allah will say to him: 'Was I not so generous with you, such that I did not leave you having any need from anyone?' He will say: 'Of course O Lord!' He says: 'Then what did you do with what I gave to you?' He says: 'I would nurture the ties of kinship and give charity.' Then Allah will say to him: 'You have lied.' And the angels will say to him: 'You have lied.' Allah, Most High, will say: 'Rather, you wanted it to be said that so-and-so is so generous, and that was said.' Then the one who was killed in Allah's cause shall be brought, and Allah will say to him : 'For what were you killed?' So he says: 'I was commanded to fight in Your cause ,so I fought until I was killed.' Allah [Most High] will say to him: 'You have lied.' And the angels will say to him: 'You have lied.' Allah [Most High] will say: 'Rather, you wanted it be said that so-and-so is brave, and that was said.' "Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺhit me on my knees and said: 'O Abu Hurairah! These first three are the creatures of Allah with whom the fire will be enflamed on the Day of Judgement.'" Al-Walid Abu 'Uthman Al-Mada'ini said: "So 'Uqbah bin Muslim informed me that Shaufaiy, is the one who entered upon Mu'awiyah to inform him about this." Abu Uthman said: 'This has been done with these people, then how about with those who remain among the people?" Then Mu'awiyah begin weeping so intensely, that we thought that he will kill himself with excessive weeping. We said: "This man came to us to cause evil." Then Mu'awiyah recovered, wiped off his face and said: "Allah and His Messenger told the truth: Whosoever desires the life of the world and its glitter, then we shall pay in full (the wages of) their deeds therein, and they shall have no diminution therein. They are those for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter Fire, and vain are the deeds they did therein. And of no effect is that which they used to do." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2382)

For indeed, you have met me.' I said, 'Tell me; it has reached me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated something to you.' He said, 'Indeed, Allah loves three and dislikes three.' I said, 'Do not lie to your friend.' He said, 'I speak the truth. The man who fights in the cause of Allah steadfastly and hoping for His reward, the one who fights until he is killed, and you find him among you in the Book of Allah, revealed, reads this verse, "Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in a row as though they are a [single] structure joined firmly" [Surah As-Saff: 4]. I said, 'Who else?' He said, 'The one who has a neighbor who harms him, yet he bears with patience and endures until Allah suffices him either with life or death.' I said, 'Who else?' He said, 'The man who travels with a group, and they suffer from severe hardship until, when they are afflicted by the darkness and drowsiness [of the night], they strike their heads [against the ground] for seeking the pleasure of Allah and hoping for what He has in store for them.' I said, 'Who are the three that Allah dislikes?' He said, 'The arrogant, conceited person, and you find him in the Book of Allah, revealed, reads this verse, "Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful" [Surah Luqman: 18].' I said, 'Who else?' He said, 'The miser who denies and withholds.' I said, 'Who else?' He said, 'The smooth-talker merchant or the persuasive salesman.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out while having a companion. They went to a certain idol from the idols, so they slaughtered a sheep for it and placed it in the oven until it was cooked. When it was cooked, they took it out and placed it in their bags. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then proceeded, while walking slowly, during the hot days of Mecca until they reached the highest part of the valley. There, they met Zaid bin Amr bin Nufayl, who greeted one of them with the pre-Islamic greeting. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "Why do I see your people abandoning you?" He replied, "By Allah, it is not that they have abandoned me, but rather, it is because I see them deviating from the right path." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I went out in search of this religion until I reached the tribes of Yathrib, and I found them worshipping Allah alone, but associating partners with Him. I said, 'What kind of religion is this that I am seeking?' Then, I traveled to the tribes of Ayla and found them worshipping Allah alone, but associating partners with Him. I said, 'What kind of religion is this that I am seeking?' A scholar from the scholars of Sham said to me, 'Indeed, you are asking about a religion that no one knows except a respected old man in the peninsula.' So, I traveled until I reached him and informed him of my purpose. He said to me, 'Indeed, all those who you have seen in misguidance, asking about a religion that is the religion of Allah and His angels. There has come out in your land a Prophet or a Prophet-like person calling to this religion. Return to him, believe in him, and follow him.' So, I returned, and I did not do anything good afterwards. I carried the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the camel he was riding, and we presented to him the cooked sheep that we had. He asked, 'What is this?' We replied, 'This is a sheep we slaughtered for the idol of such and such.' He said, 'Indeed, I do not eat anything that was slaughtered for other than Allah.' This idol was made of copper, called Asaf, and its handle was made of neem tree branches. The polytheists would anoint themselves with it when they circumambulated the Ka'bah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then circumambulated it, and I also did, touching it as I passed by. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Do not touch it.' Zaid said, 'We completed the Tawaf, and I said to myself that I would touch it again to see what he says.' So, I touched it, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Did I not forbid you from doing so?' Zaid said, 'By the One who has honored him and revealed the Book to him, I have not touched an idol until Allah honored him with what He has honored him and revealed the Book to him.' Zaid bin Amr bin Nufayl died before the Prophet's message was revealed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A nation will come on the Day of Judgment, but he will be alone.' This Hadith is Sahih according to the conditions of Muslim, but they did not include it in his collection. Whoever ponders over this Hadith will understand the virtue of Zaid and his early acceptance of Islam before the invitation to it.

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the marketplace of Dhi Al-Majaz wearing a red robe, and he was saying, "O people, say there is no deity but Allah, and you will be successful." A man was following him, throwing stones at him, causing his back and heels to bleed, while saying, "O people, do not obey him, for he is a liar." I asked, "Who is this?" It was said, "He is the son of Abd Al-Muttalib." I then asked, "Who is the one who follows him and throws stones at him?" It was said, "He is Abd Al-Uzza, the father of Lahab." When Islam emerged, we left until we reached a place near Madinah, and we had with us a container of dates. While we were sitting, a man approached us wearing two white garments and greeted us, asking, "Where are the people coming from?" We said, "From Rabdah." He asked, "Do you sell this camel?" We said, "Yes." He asked, "For how much?" We replied, "For such and such amount of dates." He said, "I will take it." He took the camel and did not haggle with us. Then, he disappeared within the walls of Madinah, and we whispered to each other, wondering if he knew the value of our camel. The man with the container said, "Do not whisper among yourselves, for I saw the face of a man whom none of you could belittle. I have never seen anything resembling the moon on the night of a full moon as his face." Later that evening, a man approached us and greeted us, saying, "I am the Messenger of the Messenger of Allah, and he says, 'You may eat until you are satiated, and trade until you are content.'" We ate until we were full and traded until we were content. The next morning, we arrived at Madinah, and there stood the Messenger of Allah, delivering a sermon from the pulpit, saying, "The hand that gives is higher than the one that receives, and start with those you are responsible for, your mother and father, then your sister and brother, and then the closest ones." A man stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, these are the sons of Tha'laba ibn Yarbua who killed so and so in the age of ignorance. Take our revenge from him." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his hands up, and I saw the whiteness of his armpits as he said, "No, a mother cannot seek revenge for her child, no, a mother cannot seek revenge for her child."

[Machine] On the authority of Abu Dharr, the following hadith was narrated to me: I longed to meet him, so I met him and said, "O Abu Dharr, there used to be a hadith that reached me about you, so I longed to meet you." He replied, "By Allah, you have met me. What do you want?" I said, "There is a hadith that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrate to you." He said, "Indeed, Allah loves three and dislikes three." I said, "May I be mentioned as lying about the Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Say it." So I asked, "Who are the three that Allah loves?" He said, "A man who fights in the cause of Allah with perseverance and expectation of reward, even if he is killed. And you find him in the Book of Allah: 'Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in a row as though they are a [single] structure joined firmly' (Quran 61:4)." Then he recited this verse: "Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in a row as though they are a [single] structure joined firmly" (Quran 61:4). I asked, "And who are they?" He replied, "A man who has a bad neighbor who harms him, but he bears it with patience until Allah relieves him from him in this life or the next." I asked, "And who are they?" He replied, "A man who travels with a group until they stop to rest at the end of the night, then they are struck by a drowsiness or fatigue, so they strike their heads. Then he wakes up and performs ablution out of desire for Allah and out of his need for it." I asked, "And who are the three that Allah dislikes?" He replied, "The miserly, the arrogant, and you find them in the Book of Allah: 'Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful' (Quran 31:18)." I asked, "And who are they?" He replied, "The merchant who is deceitful or the buyer who is deceitful." I said, "I do not know which one." Abu Dharr said, "O Abu Dharr, what is wealth?" He replied, "It is a loss for us and a taste." I said, "O Abu Dharr, that is not what I am asking you. I am only asking you about the one who keeps his wealth silent." He replied, "He does not find himself in the morning or the evening. I said, "What about you and your brothers from the Quraysh?" He replied, "By Allah, I do not ask them about religion, nor do I ask them about this worldly life, until I meet Allah and His Messenger." He repeated this statement three times.

[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and was reciting verses to a group of idols. We then slaughtered a sheep for him and prepared it for him until it was cooked. Then the messenger of Allah ﷺ walked, while reciting verses, on a hot day in Mecca, until we reached the highest point of the valley. There, Zaid bin Amr bin Nufayl met him and greeted the other person with the greeting of the pre-Islamic era. The messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Why do I see your people mocking you?" He replied, "By Allah, it is not because they have heard anything from me, but because I see them being misguided. So I went out in search of this religion until I arrived in Yathrib where I found people worshiping Allah alone and associating partners with Him." I said, "What is this religion I'm seeking?" So I continued on until I reached the Jews of Khaybar and found them worshiping Allah and associating partners with Him. I said, "What is this religion I'm seeking?" Then I proceeded until I reached the Jews of Fadak and found them worshiping Allah and associating partners with Him. I said, "What is this religion I'm seeking?" Then a scholar from the scholars of Sham (Syria) said to me, "Are you asking about a religion that we don't know of anyone worshiping Allah alone with, except for a sheikh in the Arabian Peninsula? So I went to him and informed him of what I was searching for." He said to me, "Indeed, everyone who you see in misguidance, if he is calling to a religion, it is the religion of Allah and His angels. A prophet has emerged in your land or soon will emerge calling to it. So return and believe in him and follow him." I did not encounter another prophet after that, and I am the messenger of Allah ﷺ , riding on the camel that was beneath me. We then brought him the cooked meat, and he said, "What is this?" We said, "We slaughtered this sheep for such and such idol." He said, "I do not eat anything that has been sacrificed to anyone other than Allah." Then we dispersed, and there were two idols made of copper called Isaf and Na'ilah. The messenger of Allah ﷺ circumambulated them, and I followed him. When I passed by one of them, I touched it. The messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not touch it." We completed the circumambulation, and I said to myself, "I will touch it to see what he says." So I touched it and the messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not touch it. Did I not forbid you?" He said, "By the One who honored him and revealed the book to him, he did not accept a representative until he was honored with what he was honored with and the book was revealed to him." It was also said that Zaid bin Amr bin Nufayl died before the prophet ﷺ was sent, and the messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A nation will come on the Day of Judgment alone."

[Machine] Narrated by Abu Dharr, I had a strong desire to meet the Prophet, so I met him and said, "O Abu Dharr, he used to inform me about you. I had a strong desire to meet you." He replied, "May Allah be your Guardian, you have indeed met me. So what news did you receive that you convey to us?" I said, "I received a narration that you mentioned that Allah loves three things and dislikes three things." He said, "What hinders me from speaking the truth about my dear friend, the Prophet?" I asked, "So who are the three that Allah loves?" He replied, "A man who confronts the enemy and fights for the sake of Allah, and indeed, you will find this in the Book, 'Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in a row.' (Quran 61:4)" I inquired, "And who else?" He said, "A person who has an evil neighbor, but endures his harm, and Allah suffices him either in his life or in his death." I asked, "And who else?" He replied, "A man who is on a journey with a group of people. They stop to rest, and are afflicted with fatigue and drowsiness, so they lay their heads down to sleep. One of them wakes up and performs ablution for the sake and pleasure of Allah, then he stands up in prayer." I questioned, "So who are the three that Allah dislikes?" He answered, "The mischievous miser, the proud arrogant person, and indeed, you will find this in the Book, 'Indeed, Allah does not love everyone self-deluded and boastful.' (Quran 31:18)" I asked, "So who is the third?" He replied, "The dishonest merchant or the seller of false goods."
