[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once sought water for ablution and he had a black woolen cloak. He desired to take hold of it from its lower part and place it on top of him. However, it felt heavy on him, so he turned it upside down, with the right side on the left and the left side on the right.

When Allah gave to His Apostle the war booty on the day of Hunain, he distributed that booty amongst those whose hearts have been (recently) reconciled (to Islam), but did not give anything to the Ansar. So they seemed to have felt angry and sad as they did not get the same as other people had got. The Prophet ﷺ then delivered a sermon before them, saying, "O, the assembly of Ansar! Didn't I find you astray, and then Allah guided you on the Right Path through me? You were divided into groups, and Allah brought you together through me; you were poor and Allah made you rich through me." Whatever the Prophet ﷺ said , they (i.e. the Ansar) said, "Allah and his Apostle have more favours to do." The Prophet ﷺ said, "What stops you from answering the Messenger of Allah?" But whatever he said to them, they replied, "Allah and His Apostle have more favours to do." The Prophet ﷺ then said, "If you wish you could say: 'You came to us in such-and-such state (at Medina).' Wouldn't you be willing to see the people go away with sheep and camels while you go with the Prophet ﷺ to your homes? But for the migration, I would have been one of the Ansar, and if the people took their way through a valley or mountain pass, I would select the valley or mountain pass of the Ansar. The Ansar are Shiar (i.e. those clothes which are in direct contact with the body and worn inside the other garments), and the people are Dithar (i.e. those clothes which are not in direct contact with the body and are worn over other garments). No doubt, you will see other people favoured over you, so you should be patient till you meet me at the Tank (of Kauthar). (Using translation from Bukhārī 4330)

when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered a bell to be made so that it might be struck to gather the people for prayer, a man carrying a bell in his hand appeared to me while I was asleep, and I said; servant of ‘abd Allah, will you sell the bell? He asked; what will you do with it? I replied; we shall use it to call the people to prayer. He said; should I not suggest you something better than that. I replied: certainly. Then he told me to say: Allah is most great, Allah is most great, Allah is most great, Allah is most great. I testify that there is no god but Allah, I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Come to pray, come to pray; come to salvation; come to salvation. Allah is most great, Allah is most great. I testify that there is no god but Allah. He then moved backward a few steps and said: when you utter the IQAMAH, you should say: Allah is most great, Allah is most great. I testify that there is no god but Allah, I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Come to prayer, come to salvation. The time for prayer has come, the time for prayer has come: Allah is most great, Allah is most great. There is no god but Allah. When the morning came, I came to the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) and informed him of what I had seen in the dream. He said: it is a genuine vision, and he then should use it to call people to prayer, for he has a louder voice than you have. So I got up along with Bilal and began to teach it to him and he used it in making the call to prayer. ‘Umar b. al-khattab (Allah be pleased with him) heard it while he was in his house and came out trailing his cloak and said: Messenger of Allah. By him who has sent you with the truth, I have also seen the kind of thing as has been shown to him. The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) said: To Allah be the praise. Abu Dawud said; Al-Zuhri narrated this tradition in a similar way from Sa’id b. al-Musayyib on the authority of ‘Abd Allah b. Zaid. In this version Ibn Ishaq narrated from al-Zuhri: Allah is most great. Allah is most great, Allah is most great, Allah is most great. Ma;mar and yunus narrated from al-Zuhri; Allah is most great, Allah is most great. They did not report it twice again. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 499)

when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered a bell to be made so that it might be struck to gather the people for prayer, a man carrying a bell in his hand appeared to me while I was asleep, and I said; servant of ‘abd Allah, will you sell the bell? [Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "I am a blind man and there is a valley of darkness between you and me. I asked him to come and pray in my house so that I could take it as a place of prayer. He promised me that he would do so. He, along with Abu Bakr and Umar, came and the Ansar heard about it. They also came to him, except for a man named Malik ibn Dakhshun who was known for hypocrisy. They prepared some food and discussed the matter among themselves. They said, 'He did not leave us, even though he knew that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ only visits us out of hypocrisy.' After he finished praying, he said, 'Woe to him! Did he not witness that there is no deity but Allah, with sincerity? Verily, Allah has forbidden the Fire to anyone who testifies to it with sincerity."

[Machine] He said, "O Messenger of Allah, a river separates me and the mosque of my people, so I would like for you to come to me and pray in a place in my house that I have made a mosque." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "We will do that." So when the morning came, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to Abu Bakr, and he followed him. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered, he said, "Where do you want?" I pointed to a spot in the house, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and we lined up behind him, and he prayed with us two units of prayer. We then built a fence around it and the people of the village heard, so they started to come, and the house became crowded. A man from the people asked, "Where is Malik ibn Dukhshum?" A man replied, "That is one of the hypocrites." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not say that, he says, 'There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah' seeking the face of Allah with it." He said, "As for us, we see his face and hear his speech." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not say that, he says, 'There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah' seeking the face of Allah with it." A man from the people said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If a slave fulfills this on the Day of Resurrection, saying, 'There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah' seeking the face of Allah with it, Allah will make forbidden for him the Fire." Mahmud narrated this to some people, among them was Abu Ayyub. He said, "I do not think the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said this." So I said, "If I return and the blind man is still alive, I will ask him." So I went to him and he was blind, but he was the leader of his people. I asked him, and he narrated to me just as he had before, and he was a Badri companion.

[Machine] My father, memorize this hadith, for it is from the treasures of hadith. When we finished, we went back to the city and asked about it. We found the person alive and he was an old blind man. We asked him about the hadith and he said, "Yes, my sight was lost during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . So I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, my sight is gone and I cannot pray behind you. If you can assign a mosque in my house and I pray in it, may it be considered my place of worship?' He said, 'Yes, I will come to you tomorrow.' When he finished the morning prayer the next day, he turned to me, stood up and approached me. He said, 'O 'Utbah, where do you want me to assign a place for you?' So I described a place for him and he assigned it to me. Then he prayed in it and stayed seated. The news reached the Ansar around us, so they came until the house was filled. They mentioned the hypocrites and the harm they cause, until they assigned one of the hypocrites, Malik bin Dukhshum, to handle their affairs. They said, 'Look at his position and the position of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was silent. When their talk became excessive, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Is it not true that there is no deity except Allah?' When it was the third time, they said, 'Indeed, he says it.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'By the One who sent me with the truth, if he says it with sincerity from his heart, the fire will never consume him.'
