"مَنْ قَرَأَ حمَ الدُّخَان في لَيلَة، أَصْبَحَ يَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُ سَبْعُونَ أَلفَ مَلك".

[ت] الترمذي وضعّفه، [هب] البيهقى في شعب الإيمان وضعّفه عن أبي هريرة

tirmidhi:3781ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman And ʾIsḥāq b. Manṣūr > Muḥammad b. Yūsuf > Isrāʾīl > Maysarah b. Ḥabīb > al-Minhāl b. ʿAmr > Zir b. Ḥubaysh > Ḥudhayfah

"My mother asked me: 'When is your planned time - meaning with the Prophet ﷺ?' So I said: 'I have not had a planned time to see him since such and such time.' She rebuked me, so I said to her: 'Let me go to the Prophet ﷺ so that I may perform Maghrib (prayer) with him, and ask him to seek forgiveness for you and I.' So I came to the Prophet ﷺ, and I prayed Maghrib with him, then he prayed until he prayed Al-'Isha. Then he turned, and I followed him, and he heard my voice, and said: 'Who is this? Hudhaifah?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: "What is your need, may Allah forgive you and your mother?' He said: 'Indeed, this is an angel that never descended to the earth ever before tonight. He sought permission from his Lord to greet me with peace and to give me the glad tidings that Fatimah is the chief of the women of Paradise, and that Al-Hasan and Al-Husain are the chiefs of the youths of the people of Paradise.'"

[Machine] My mother asked me, "Since when have you had a connection with the Prophet ﷺ?" I replied, "Since this and that time." She then became displeased with me and cursed me. I said to her, "Leave me alone, for I will go to the Prophet ﷺ and pray Maghrib with him, and then I will not leave until he seeks forgiveness for me and for you." So, I went to the Prophet ﷺ and prayed Maghrib with him. The Prophet ﷺ then prayed Isha and finished. I followed him, and someone approached him privately and spoke to him. Then, the person left, and I followed him. He heard my voice and asked, "Who is this?" I said, "Hudhaifah." He asked, "What do you want?" So, I informed him of the matter. He said, "May Allah forgive you and your mother." Then he said, "Did you see the person who approached me earlier?" I said, "Yes." He said, "That was an angel from the angels who had never descended to the Earth before this night. He sought permission from his Lord to greet me and give me glad tidings that Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn are the chiefs of the youth of Paradise, and that Fatimah is the chief of the women of Paradise."

But if he returns to sin, it increases until his heart is sealed with it. This is what Allah mentioned in His book, 'No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning' [Al-Mutaffifin 14]." "Allah,Most High said: 'O My Slaves! All of you are astray except whom I guide, so ask Me for guidance and I shall guide you. All of you are poor except whom I enrich, so ask Me and I shall provide you. All of you are sinners except whom I have pardoned, so whoever among you knows that I am the One able to forgive, and seeks My forgiveness, I shall forgive him, without concern for Me (and it will not affect Me). If the first of you and the last of you, the living among you and the dead among you, the fresh among you and the dry among you were to gather together to help the heart with the most Taqwa among My slaves, that would not add a mosquito's wing to My sovereignty. If the first of you and the last of you, the living among you and the dead among you, the fresh among you and the dry among you were to gather together to help the worst heart of My slaves, that would not diminish a mosquito's wing to My sovereignty. I shall forgive him, without concern for Me (and it will not affect Me). If the first of you and the last of you, the living among you and the dead among you, the fresh among you and the dry among you were to gather together upon one plateau, and each person among them were to ask for his utmost desire, and I were to give each what he asked for, that would not diminish from My sovereignty, except as if one of you were to pass by an ocean and dip a needle into it and then remove it. That is because I am the Most Liberal without need, the Most Generous, doing as I will. I give by My speech and I punish by My speech, whenever I will something I only say: "Be" and it shall be.'" “Allah the Blessed and Exalted says: ‘O My slaves, all of you are sinners except those whom I have saved. So ask Me for forgiveness, I will forgive you. Whoever among you knows that I have the power to forgive and asks Me to forgive by My power, I will forgive him. All of you are astray except those whom I guide. Ask Me for guidance and I will guide you. All of you are poor except those whom I enrich (make independent of means). Ask of Me and I will grant you provision. Even if your living and your dead, your first and your last, your fresh and your dry, were all as pious as the most pious among My slaves, that would not increase my dominion as much as a gnat’s wing, and if they were to be as evil as the most evil among My slaves, that would not detract from My dominion as much as a gnat’s wing. Even if your living and your dead, your first and your last, your fresh and your dry, were to join together and each of them were to ask for all that he wishes for, that would only detract from My dominion as much as if one of you were to pass by the edge of the sea and dip a needle in it and withdraw it. That is because I am the Most Generous, Majestic. I give with a word; when I will something, all I do is say to it “Be!” – and it is.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4257)

I heard that from him for a while, then I said to myself: ‘By Allah! What is this weakness? “I used to guide my father after he lost his sight, and when I took him out for the Friday (prayer), when he heard the Adhan he would pray for forgiveness for Abu Umamah As’ad bin Zurarah, and supplicate for him. I heard that from him for a while, then I said to myself: ‘By Allah! What is this weakness? Every time he heard the Adhan for Friday (prayer) I hear him praying for forgiveness for Abu Umamah and supplicate for him, and I do not ask him about why he does that.’ Then I took him out for Friday (prayer), as I used to take him out, and when he heard the Adhan he prayed for forgiveness as he used to do. I said to him: ‘O my father! I see you supplicating for As’ad bin Zurarah every time you hear the call for Friday; why is that?’ He said: ‘O my son, he was the first one who led us for the Friday prayer before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came from Makkah, in Naqi’ Al- Khadamat (a place near Al-Madinah), in the plain of Harrah Banu Bayadah.’ I asked: ‘How many of you were there at that time?’ He said: ‘Forty men.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1082)
