51. Companionship of Women (5/8)
[Machine] "When a Jewish woman would experience menstruation, they would not eat with her, drink with her, or have sexual intercourse with them in the home. So Allah revealed the verse {And they ask you about menstruation. Say, 'It is harm, so keep away from wives during menstruation. And do not approach them until they are pure.}" [Quran 2:222]. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Do everything except for intercourse.'"
51.49 [Machine] What should a person do if they have sexual intercourse with their wife during her menstruation period? And the differing opinions regarding the narration of Abdullah ibn Abbas in this matter
The Prophet ﷺ said about a person who had intercourse with his wife while she was menstruating: He must give one dinar or half a dinar in alms. Abu Dawud said: The correct version says si: One dinar or half a dinar. Shu'bah (a narrator) did not sometimes narrate this tradition as a statement of the Prophet ﷺ. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 264)
[Machine] "This is about how my life spanned as long as the life of Noah among his people in this world."
51.50 [Machine] The mention of disagreement over Hakam ibn Utaybah in it
"If a man had intercourse with his wife while she was menstruating, the Prophet commanded him to give half a Dinar in charity." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 650)
51.51 [Machine] The mention of differences regarding Qatada
[Machine] A man had sexual intercourse with his wife while she was menstruating, so the Prophet ﷺ ordered him to give a charity of either a dinar or half a dinar.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ commanded a man who had intercourse with his wife while she was menstruating to give in charity either a dinar or half a dinar. 9057 'Amr ibn 'Ali reported to us, he said: Aasim ibn Hilal narrated to us, he said: Qatadah narrated to us, from Miqsam, from Ibn 'Abbas, with a similar hadith, and 'Abdul-Karim did not elevate it and he explained it.
[Machine] Regarding the Prophet ﷺ on the topic of a man having relations with his wife while she is menstruating, he said: "If the blood is bright red, then the expiation is one dinar. But if it is yellowish, then the expiation is half a dinar."
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ was asked about the man who has sexual intercourse with his wife while she is menstruating. He said, "He should give half a dinar in charity." Abu Abdur Rahman, Hajjaj ibn Artat, is a weak narrator and a deceptive person.
51.52 [Machine] The mention of differences in specific things
[Machine] He informed him that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and had sexual intercourse with his wife while she was menstruating, so he instructed him to pay half a Dinar.
"If a man had intercourse with his wife while she was menstruating, the Prophet commanded him to give half a Dinar in charity." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 650)
the Prophet said about a man who had sexual intercourse with his wife while she is menstruating: "He should give half a Dinar in charity." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 136)
[Machine] And the deputy said, "If it (the impurity) afflicts her after she sees the purity, then she must pay half a dinar unless she performs ablution."
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet, regarding a man who had intercourse with his wife while she was menstruating, he ordered him to give half a dinar in charity. Abu Abdulrahman said, "This is a mistake and it is a report from Sahl bin Salih who is not a reliable narrator."
The Prophet ﷺ said about a man who has sexual intercourse with a menstruating woman: He should give one or half dinar as sadaqah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2168)
[Machine] "If it falls in blood, give charity with a dinar, and if it falls in yellow discharge, give half a dinar."
[Machine] A man informed the messenger of Allah ﷺ that he had approached his wife while she was on her period, so he ordered him to free a slave. Mahmoud ibn Khalid disagreed with him.
[Machine] A man said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ , I had sexual intercourse with my wife while she is menstruating. The Prophet ﷺ ordered him to free a slave. Ibn Abbas said: "And the value of the slave at that time was a dinar."
[Machine] Abu Abdulrahman Abu Hariz is weak in hadith and I do not know him well. Hamza, Abu Hariz, Abdullah ibn Al-Husain, the judge of Sistan, said.
51.53 [Machine] Intercourse during menstruation and engaging in it
[Machine] It did not mention the word "black" in it. So, when it was mentioned about the last time, he mentioned it from Al-Aswad, from Aisha, she said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command one of us to wear an izar (a waist-wrapper worn under a garment) while she was menstruating, and then he would have sexual intercourse with her. Sometimes he would say, 'Have intercourse with her.'"
51.54 [Machine] The Permissibility of Eating and Drinking During Menstruation and Benefiting from its Blessings
[Machine] He heard Aisha saying, "I used to drink while I was menstruating and then the Prophet ﷺ would take my place and put his mouth on the same spot where I drank, and I would sweat, but the Prophet ﷺ would still take it and put his mouth on that spot."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and saw a woman, then he returned and entered upon Zainab to fulfill his need. Then he went out to his companions and said, "Indeed, a woman is embraced in the form of a devil and examines in the form of a devil. So whoever among you sees anything of that, let him go to his wife, for indeed, that will have repelled it."
[Machine] The Prophet (PBUH) was sitting when a woman passed by him, and he was fascinated by her and looked at her in a way similar to that of Satan. He did not mention what happened afterwards, as if he considered it more correct to omit it compared to what came before it.
51.55 [Machine] The license of a man to inform his family of what did not exist
A liar is not one who tries to bring reconciliation amongst people and speaks good (in order to avert dispute), or he conveys good. Ibn Shihab said he did not hear that exemption was granted in anything what the people speak as lie but in three cases: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the narration of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife to her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between them). (Using translation from Muslim 2605a)
51.56 [Machine] The permission for a woman to inform her husband about something that wasn't
I did not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ making a concession for anything people say falsely except in three matters. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say: I do not count as a liar a man who puts things right between people, saying a word by which he intends only putting things right, and a man who says something in war, and a man who says something to his wife, or a wife who says something to her husband. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4921)
[Machine] "I heard that he has relaxed in something that people say about him." - Yunus remained steadfast in the matter of Az-Zuhrī.
51.57 [Machine] The license for a man to communicate with his wife.
I and she (the Mother of the Faithful) do it and then take a bath. (Using translation from Muslim 350)
51.58 [Machine] The license for a woman to communicate with her husband.
"When the two circumcised parts meet, then bath is obligatory. The Messenger of Allah and I did that, and we bathed." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 608)
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to instruct me to wear an izar (a waist wrap) while I was menstruating and he would have marital relations with me."
"The Messenger of Allah would fondle me while he was fasting, and he had the most control among you of his limb (li irbihi)." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 728)
I said to 'Abd al-Rahman b. Qasim: Have you heard from your father narrating from 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) that he kissed her while observing fast? He ('Abd al-Rahman b. Qasim) kept silence for a short while and then said:" Yes." (Using translation from Muslim 1106b)
[Machine] "I desire for the Prophet ﷺ to kiss me." So I said, "I am fasting." He said, "I am fasting too, so he kissed me."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ would not refuse anything from me while he was fasting.

51.59 [Machine] A woman's care for her husband
I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Amongst all those women who ride camels (i.e. Arabs), the ladies of Quraish are the best. They are merciful and kind to their off-spring and the best guardians of their husbands' properties.' Abu Huraira added, "Mary the daughter of ʿImran never rode a camel." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3434)
51.60 [Machine] The gratitude of a woman towards her husband
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Allah does not look at a woman who does not thank her husband and is not independent of him." Abu Abdullah Rahmatullah bin Mujaishir, who is a trustworthy Basri, and Yazid bin Zuray, both came forward with the narration of Sa'id bin Abu Arubah. This is because Sa'id's behavior changed towards the end of his life. So, whoever heard from him in the past, his narration is authentic and Umar bin Ibrahim confirmed its elevation and considered the place of Sa'id to be the same as Hasan al-Basri.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Allah does not look at a woman who does not appreciate her husband." Shu'bah ibn al-Hajjaj narrated this hadith. 'Amr ibn 'Ali reported it to us, and Yahya narrated it from Shu'bah, who narrated it from Qatadah, who narrated it from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, who narrated it from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr.
[Machine] Eleven women sat together and made a pact and covenant not to conceal anything about their husbands. The first said, "My husband is like the meat of a lean camel on top of a rough mountain, neither easy to climb nor plump to take down." The second said, "I will not disclose my husband's story, for I fear I may not abandon him. If I speak, I will reveal his secrets and flaws." The third said, "My husband is tall; if I speak, I will be divorced, and if I stay silent, I will be hung up." The fourth said, "My husband is like a night of Tihamah: neither hot nor cold, with no fear and no boredom." The fifth said, "When my husband enters, he is like a leopard, and when he goes out, he is like a lion, and he does not ask about what he entrusts." The sixth said, "If my husband eats, he devours; if he drinks, he fully drinks; and if he lies down, he wraps himself. He does not insert his hand to know the distress." The seventh said, "My husband is helpless and confused, full of maladies. He may injure or break you or gather all kinds of harm for you." The eighth said, "My husband’s touch is like a rabbit’s fur and his scent is like a fragrant herb." The ninth said, "My husband is of high stature, long sword, generous with his wealth, and his home is near the gathering." The tenth said, "My husband, Malik, what can describe Malik? He is better than that. He has many camels parked and few pasturing. When they hear the sound of the flute, they are certain they will perish." The eleventh said, "My husband Abu Zar’—and what can describe Abu Zar’? He adorned my ears with jewelry, filled my arms with fat, which made me happy, and I was content with myself. He found me among a people with little livestock; he made me among a people with horses and camels. With him, I speak without rebuke, I sleep and wake up late, and I drink and am filled. The mother of Abu Zar’, what can describe the mother of Abu Zar’? Her containers are large and her house is spacious. The son of Abu Zar’, what can describe the son of Abu Zar’? His bed is like a twig of a palm, and a tender arm fills him. The daughter of Abu Zar’, what can describe the daughter of Abu Zar’? She is obedient to her father and mother and fills her clothes. She angers her neighbor. The servant of Abu Zar’, what can describe the servant of Abu Zar’? She does not gossip or waste our food and does not fill our house with waste.”
She said, “Abu Zar’ went out while the vessels were spinning, and he met a woman with two boys like leopards playing under her waist with pomegranates. He divorced me and married her. After him, I married a noble man who rode a fast horse, held a spear, tended livestock, and gave me many kinds of perfume, and he said, 'Eat, O Umm Zar’, and provide for your family.'” She said, “If I gathered everything he gave me, it would not fill a small vessel of Abu Zar’s.”
Aisha said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, 'I am to you like Abu Zar’ was to Umm Zar’.'"

[Machine] Here is the translation of the passage into English:
"I bragged about my father's wealth during the pre-Islamic era, and he had accumulated a thousand weights," so the Prophet ﷺ said, "Be silent, O Aisha, for I am to you as Abu Zar' was to Umm Zar'." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began to narrate the story: "Eleven women gathered during the pre-Islamic period and agreed that each would tell the truth about her husband without lying."
Someone asked, "And you, O so-and-so?" She said, "The night is like the night of Tihama, neither hot nor cold, and no fear."
Someone else was asked, "And you, O so-and-so?" She said, "The scent is like the scent of Zarnab, and the touch is like the touch of a rabbit. We overpower him, and he overpowers people."
Someone else was asked, "And you, O so-and-so?" She said, "By Allah, I know that he is of lofty stature, long straps and generous hospitality, close to the meeting place of the public."
Someone else was asked, "And you, O so-and-so?" She said, "I married Malik, and what is Malik's wealth? He has camels that roam abundantly and rarely stay idle. When they hear the sound of the lute, they know they are doomed."
Someone else was asked, "And you, O so-and-so?" She said, "Leave me alone, for if I mention him, I speak of his faults, and I fear I won't stop."
Someone else was asked, "And you, O so-and-so?" She said, "Thin camel meat on a mountain: neither fat so it can be climbed nor low-lying so it can be moved."
Someone else was asked, "And you, O so-and-so?" She said, "By Allah, I know that when he enters, he is like a panther and when he exits, he is like a lion."
Someone else was asked, "And you, O so-and-so?" She said, "By Allah, I know that when he eats, he consumes fully, when he drinks, he drains in one gulp. When he slaughters, he savors, and when he sleeps, he curls up, and he does not intrude to discover matters."
Someone else was asked, "And you, O so-and-so?" She said, "I married Ashannaq. If I remain silent, I am suspended, and if I speak, I am divorced."
Someone else was asked, "And you, O so-and-so?" She said, "He is incapacitated and lacks direction; every ailment is for him, inflicting wounds and fracturing bones, or it causes total exhaustion."
Someone else was asked, "And you, O so-and-so?" She said, "I married Abu Zar'. What is Abu Zar'? He adorned my ears and filled me with joy and companionship. He satisfied me with food until I became content. He found me among modest herds and placed me between wealth and horses, luxuries and festivities. I sleep, wake up in opulence, drink, and am satisfied, and speak without being rebuked."
"The son of Abu Zar', and what is the son of Abu Zar'? His bedding is as long as a sword scabbard and he eats to his satisfaction."
"The daughter of Abu Zar', and what is the daughter of Abu Zar'? Her clothing is full, and she is a decoration to her father and mother and a pride to her neighbor."
"The servant of Abu Zar', and what is the servant of Abu Zar'? She does not disclose our secrets and does not waste our resources."
He divorced me while the milking vessels were still full, then he found a woman with two hawkish children and married her, divorcing me. I replaced him with another, but every replacement is lesser. I married a noble young man who rode swift mounts and carried weaponry. He gave me abundant cattle and from each livestock, a pair. He said, 'Take this, O Umm Zar’, and support your family with it.' I collected it all, but it could not fill the smallest of Abu Zar’s vessels."
Aisha said, "O Messenger of Allah, you are better than Abu Zar’."

So treat women nicely." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3331)

The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you enter (your town) at night (after coming from a journey), do not enter upon your family till the woman whose husband was absent (from the house) shaves her pubic hair and the woman with unkempt hair, combs her hair" Messenger of Allah ﷺ further said, "(O Jabir!) Seek to have offspring, seek to have offspring!" (Using translation from Bukhārī 5246)
