51. Companionship of Women
[Machine] "By Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never struck a woman or a servant of his, nor did he ever strike anything with his hand, except when he was striving in the cause of Allah. He never had to choose between two matters except that he would choose the easier of the two, as long as it was not sinful. If it was sinful, he would stay far away from it. And by Allah, he never avenged himself from anything that was done to him, until the sanctities of Allah were violated, then he would take revenge for the sake of Allah."
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , never struck any of his wives, never whipped a servant, and never hit anything with his hand, except in the way of Allah or when the sanctities of Allah were violated, in which case he sought revenge for the sake of Allah.
[Machine] "I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ strike a servant or a woman, nor did he ever strike anything with his hand except when he was fighting in the way of Allah."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ advised them about the wind that blows, saying, "None of you should laugh at what comes from it." He also advised them about women, saying, "One of you should not beat his wife as a slave or a servant during the day and then approach her with intimacy at the end of the day."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not beat the female servants of Allah." So 'Umar came and said, "Women have started rebelling against their husbands, so give permission to beat them." And many of the wives of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ surrounded the family of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Prophet ﷺ said, "The family of Muhammad has surrounded him tonight, seventy women, all of whom are complaining about their husbands. And you will not find those to be the best among you."
The Prophet ﷺ said: A man will not be asked as to why he beat his wife. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2147)
