'A'isha reported that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Kinship (rahim) is derived from Allah. If anyone maintains ties of kinship Allah maintains ties with him. If anyone cuts them off, Allah cuts him off."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ الرَّحِمُ شُجْنَةٌ مِنَ اللهِ مَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلَهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعَهُ اللَّهُ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The word 'Ar-Rahm (womb) derives its name from Ar-Rahman (i.e., one of the names of Allah) and Allah said: 'I will keep good relation with the one who will keep good relation with you, (womb i.e. Kith and Kin) and sever the relation with him who will sever the relation with you, (womb, i.e. Kith and Kin).

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الرَّحِمَ سُجْنَةٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ مَنْ وَصَلَكِ وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَكِ قَطَعْتُهُ

(the wife of the Prophet) The Prophet ﷺ said, "The word 'Ar-Rahm' (womb) derives its name from 'Ar- Rahman' (i.e. Allah). So whosoever keeps good relations with it (womb i.e. Kith and kin), Allah will keep good relations with him, and whosoever will sever it (i.e. severs his bonds of Kith and kin) Allah too will sever His relations with him.

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الرَّحِمُ شِجْنَةٌ فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعْتُهُ

The tie of kinship is suspended to the Throne and says: He who unites me Allah would unite him and he who severed me Allah would sever him.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الرَّحِمُ مُعَلَّقَةٌ بِالْعَرْشِ تَقُولُ مَنْ وَصَلَنِي وَصَلَهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَنِي قَطَعَهُ اللَّهُ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Allah the Exalted has said: I am Compassionate, and this has been derived from mercy. I have derived its name from My name. If anyone joins it, I shall join him, and if anyone cuts it off, I shall cut him off.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ وَهِيَ الرَّحِمُ شَقَقْتُ لَهَا اسْمًا مِنَ اسْمِي مَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The merciful are shown mercy by al-Rahman (the Most Merciful). Be merciful to those on earth, and the One in the sky will be merciful to you. The womb is named after al-Rahman, so whoever connects it, Allah connects him, and whoever severs it, Allah severs him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «الرَّاحِمُونَ يَرْحَمُهُمُ الرَّحْمَنُ، ارْحَمُوا مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَرْحَمْكُمْ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ. الرَّحِمُ شُجْنَةٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ، فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلَهُ اللَّهُ، وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعَهُ اللَّهُ».

"Whoever completes a row, may Allah be generous to him, and whoever cuts a row, may Allah cut him off."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ وَصَلَ صَفًّا وَصَلَهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَ صَفًّا قَطَعَهُ اللَّهُ ﷻ

[AI] To Him belongs the servant of the Most Merciful, and it is through your ties of kinship that you will attain mercy. Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ said that Allah (glorified and exalted be He) said: "I am the Most Merciful. I have created the womb (i.e., relationships) and have derived its name from My Name. So, whoever maintains ties of kinship, I shall maintain ties with him, and whoever severs ties of kinship, I shall sever ties with him."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ وَأَنَا خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَاشْتَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنَ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلَهُ اللهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ

" Abu[Ar-Raddad] Al-Laithi complained(of an illness). So 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf visited him. He said: 'The best of you, and the most apt to maintain good relations, as far as I know, is Abu Muhammad('Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf). So 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf' said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah saying : "Allah, Most Blessed and Most High, said: 'I am Allah, and I am Ar-Rahman. I created the Rahim(womb), and named it after My Name. So whoever keeps good relations with it, I keep good relation with him, and whoever severs it, I am finished with him.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1907)

أَبُو الرَّدَّادِ خَيْرُهُمْ وَأَوْصَلُهُمْ مَا عَلِمْتُ أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ أَنَا اللهُ وَأَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنَ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ

[AI] To him belongs Abdulrahman, and your womb is connected to him. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah said, 'I am the Most Merciful, and I created the womb and derived its name from My name. Whoever maintains good relations with it, I will maintain good relations with him, and whoever severs it, I will sever ties with him, or whoever cuts it off, I will cut him off.'"

لَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ وَصَلَتْكَ رَحِمٌ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ اللهُ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ وَخَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنَ اسْمِي فَمَنْ يَصِلْهَا أَصِلْهُ وَمَنْ يَقْطَعْهَا أَقْطَعْهُ أَوْ قَالَ مَنْ يَبُتَّهَا أَبْتُتْهُ

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ : "Indeed, the womb (family ties) is a festering wound that holds onto the throne of the Most Merciful. It connects those who maintain it and severs those who sever it."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّ الرَّحِمَ شُجْنَةٌ آخِذَةٌ بِحُجْزَةِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَصِلُ مَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَيَقْطَعُ مَنْ قَطَعَهَا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Those who show mercy will be shown mercy by the Merciful. Show mercy to the people of the earth and the people of the heavens will show mercy to you. The womb is a fragment of the Merciful, whoever maintains ties with it, it will maintain ties with him, and whoever cuts it off, it will cut him off."

النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ الرَّاحِمُونَ يَرْحَمُهُمُ الرَّحْمَنُ ارْحَمُوا أَهْلَ الْأَرْضِ يَرْحَمْكُمْ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ وَالرَّحِمُ شُجْنَةٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ مَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلَتْهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَّتْهُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ وَهِيَ الرَّحِمُ شَقَقْتُ لَهَا اسْمًا مِنَ اسْمِي مَنْ يَصِلُهَا أَصِلُهُ وَمَنْ يَقْطَعُهَا أَقْطَعُهُ فَأَبُتُّهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah the Almighty said, "I am the Most Merciful and it is through mercy that relationships exist. Whoever maintains good ties with his family, I will maintain good ties with him, and whoever severs his family ties, I will sever my ties with him."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ ﷻ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ وَهِيَ الرَّحِمُ شَقَقْتُ لَهَا اسْمًا مِنَ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعْتُهُ وَمَنْ بَتَّهَا أَبَتُّهُ صحيح

[AI] He (the narrator) heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Allah the Exalted said: 'I am the Most Merciful. I have created the womb (i.e., the bond of kinship) and have derived its name from My Name. Whoever maintains ties of kinship, I maintain ties with him, and whoever severs ties of kinship, I sever ties with him.'" This is narrated by Abu Raddad Al-Laythi, with the addition of Sufyan bin 'Uyainah, Muhammad bin Abi 'Atiq, Shu'ayb bin Abi Hamzah, and Sufyan bin Husayn. It is an authentic narration.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنِ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ «هَذَا أَبُو رَدَّادٍ اللَّيْثِيُّ قَدْ أَضَافَ فِيهِ سُفْيَانَ بْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ وَشُعَيْبَ بْنَ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ وَسُفْيَانَ بْنَ حُسَيْنٍ» صحيح

[AI] Abu al-Raddad complained, then Abdullah bin Rahman came to him and said, "May the best of them and the closest to them be with you. I don't know Abu Muhammad." Abdullah bin Rahman then said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, saying that Allah the Exalted said, 'I am Allah and I am the Most Merciful. I created the womb and I derived its name from My own name. So whoever maintains ties with it, I will maintain ties with him, and whoever severs it, I will sever ties with him." (Sahih)

اشْتَكَى أَبُو الرَّدَّادِ فَجَاءَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَائِدًا فَقَالَ خَيْرُهُمْ وَأَوْصَلُهُمْ مَا عَلِمْتُ أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ ﷻ أَنَا اللَّهُ وَأَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنِ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعْتُهُ صحيح

[AI] Narrator: It was narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: 'I am Ar-Rahman (the Most Merciful). I have created the Rahim (womb) and I have derived its name from My Name. Whoever maintains ties with it, I shall maintain ties with him, and whoever severs it, I shall sever ties with him.'" [Saheeh Al-Bukhari]

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنِ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعْتُهُ صحيح

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Allah, the Most High, said: I am the Most Merciful; I have created ties of kinship and I have derived a name for it from My Name. So whoever maintains ties of kinship, I will maintain ties with him, and whoever severs ties of kinship, I will sever ties with him. "I returned to mentioning the companions, may Allah be pleased with all of them." Sahih

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا شُعْبَةً مِنِ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعْتُهُ «رَجَعْتُ إِلَى ذِكْرِ الصَّحَابَةِ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ» صحيح

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Kinship is a bond from Allah. Whoever desires for his bond from Allah to be fortified, then he should connect his kinship. And whoever desires for his bond to be severed, then he should sever his kinship.'" (Sahih)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الرَّحِمُ شَجْنَةٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ أَرَادَ شَجْنَةً مِنَ اسْمِ اللَّهِ الِاسْمُ الَّذِي هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ مَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلَهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعَهُ» صحيح

[AI] I heard Abdullah bin Amr say, The Prophet ﷺ said, "Those who are merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One above the heavens will have mercy upon you."

سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «الرَّاحِمُونَ يَرْحَمُهُمُ اللَّهُ ارْحَمُوا أَهْلَ الْأَرْضِ يَرْحَمْكُمْ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ الرَّحِمُ شَجْنَةٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلَهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعَهُ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ « قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا اسْمًا مِنِ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ وَهِيَ الرَّحِمُ شَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنَ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ حَدَّثَ بِهِ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الرَّحِمُ شُجْنَةٌ مَنْ يَصِلْهَا يَصِلْهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ يَقْطَعْهَا يَقْطَعْهُ اللَّهُ

عَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قال الرحم شجنة من وصلها وصله الله وَمَنْ قطعها قطعه أو قطعه الله

[AI] And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah has written in the Book of Decrees before He created the heavens and the earth, 'Verily, I am the Most Merciful, the Compassionate. I have created the Rahim (womb) and have derived its name from My name. So whoever keeps good relations with it (the family) I shall keep good relations with him, and whoever severs it (family ties), I shall sever ties with him."

وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ كَتَبَ فِي أُمِّ الْكِتَابِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ إِنِّي أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا اسْمًا مِنْ أَسْمَائِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعْتُهُ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا اسْمًا مِنَ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Allah said, 'I am Allah, and I am the Most Merciful. I created the womb and derived its name from My name. So whoever maintains good ties with it, I will maintain good ties with him, and whoever severs it, I will sever ties with him."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ أَنَا اللهُ وَأَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنَ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ

"The Most Merciful will show Mercy to the ones who show Mercy. Show mercy to those on earth and the one in the sky will show Mercy to you."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الرَّاحِمُونَ يَرْحَمُهُمُ الرَّحْمَنُ ارْحَمُوا مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَرْحَمْكُمْ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ

"إِن الله كتب في أُمِّ الكتاب قبل أن يخلق السمواتِ والأرضَ إِنَّنِي أنَا الرحمنُ الرحيمُ خلقت الرَّحِمَ، وشَقَقْتُ لها اسمًا من اسمى، فمن وَصَلها وصلتُه ومن قطعها قطعته ".

"الرَّحمُ شِجْنَةٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ، فَمَنْ وَصَلهَا وَصَلَهُ الله، ومَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعَهُ الله".

"الرَّحِمُ شجْنَةٌ مُعَلَّقَةٌ بِالعَرْشَ تَقُولُ: مَنْ وَصَلَنى وَصَلَهُ اللهُ وَمَنْ قطعَني قطعَه اللهُ".

"الرَّحِمُ شِجْنةٌ مِن الرَّحْمَنِ، قَال اللهُ: مَنْ وَصَلَكِ وَصَلْتُهُ، وَمَنْ قَطَعَك قَطَعْتُهُ".

"الرَّحِمُ شُجْنَةٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلَهُ اللهُ، وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعَهُ اللهُ".

"مَنْ وَصَلَ صَفًّا وَصَلَهُ اللهُ، وَمَنَ قَطَعَ صَفًّا، قَطَعَهُ اللهُ".
