" Abu[Ar-Raddad] Al-Laithi complained(of an illness). So 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf visited him. He said: 'The best of you, and the most apt to maintain good relations, as far as I know, is Abu Muhammad('Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf). So 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf' said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah saying : "Allah, Most Blessed and Most High, said: 'I am Allah, and I am Ar-Rahman. I created the Rahim(womb), and named it after My Name. So whoever keeps good relations with it, I keep good relation with him, and whoever severs it, I am finished with him.'"

خَيْرُهُمْ وَأَوْصَلُهُمْ مَا عَلِمْتُ أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ أَنَا اللَّهُ وَأَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنَ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى وَعَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَجُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ

[Machine] To Him belongs the servant of the Most Merciful, and it is through your ties of kinship that you will attain mercy. Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ said that Allah (glorified and exalted be He) said: "I am the Most Merciful. I have created the womb (i.e., relationships) and have derived its name from My Name. So, whoever maintains ties of kinship, I shall maintain ties with him, and whoever severs ties of kinship, I shall sever ties with him."

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Allah the Exalted has said: I am Compassionate, and this has been derived from mercy. I have derived its name from My name. If anyone joins it, I shall join him, and if anyone cuts it off, I shall cut him off. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1694)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ ﷻ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ وَهِيَ الرَّحِمُ شَقَقْتُ لَهَا اسْمًا مِنَ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعْتُهُ وَمَنْ بَتَّهَا أَبَتُّهُ صحيح

[Machine] Abu al-Raddad complained, then Abdullah bin Rahman came to him and said, "May the best of them and the closest to them be with you. I don't know Abu Muhammad." Abdullah bin Rahman then said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, saying that Allah the Exalted said, 'I am Allah and I am the Most Merciful. I created the womb and I derived its name from My own name. So whoever maintains ties with it, I will maintain ties with him, and whoever severs it, I will sever ties with him." (Sahih)

اشْتَكَى أَبُو الرَّدَّادِ فَجَاءَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَائِدًا فَقَالَ خَيْرُهُمْ وَأَوْصَلُهُمْ مَا عَلِمْتُ أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ ﷻ أَنَا اللَّهُ وَأَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنِ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعْتُهُ صحيح

[Machine] Narrator: It was narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: 'I am Ar-Rahman (the Most Merciful). I have created the Rahim (womb) and I have derived its name from My Name. Whoever maintains ties with it, I shall maintain ties with him, and whoever severs it, I shall sever ties with him.'" [Machine] He (saw) heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: Allah (swt) said, "I am the Most Merciful. I have created the womb (i.e., the family bond) and I have named it after My Name. So whoever maintains it, I will maintain connection with him, and whoever cuts it off, I will cut him off."
