I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Allah the Exalted has said: I am Compassionate, and this has been derived from mercy. I have derived its name from My name. If anyone joins it, I shall join him, and if anyone cuts it off, I shall cut him off.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ وَهِيَ الرَّحِمُ شَقَقْتُ لَهَا اسْمًا مِنَ اسْمِي مَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Allah the Exalted has said: I am Compassionate, and this has been derived from mercy. I have derived its name from My name. If anyone joins it, I shall join him, and if anyone cuts it off, I shall cut him off. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1694)

[Machine] Narrator: It was narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: 'I am Ar-Rahman (the Most Merciful). I have created the Rahim (womb) and I have derived its name from My Name. Whoever maintains ties with it, I shall maintain ties with him, and whoever severs it, I shall sever ties with him.'" [Saheeh Al-Bukhari]

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ « قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا اسْمًا مِنِ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ»

[Machine] He (saw) heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: Allah (swt) said, "I am the Most Merciful. I have created the womb (i.e., the family bond) and I have named it after My Name. So whoever maintains it, I will maintain connection with him, and whoever cuts it off, I will cut him off."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا اسْمًا مِنَ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Allah said, 'I am Allah, and I am the Most Merciful. I created the womb and derived its name from My name. So whoever maintains good ties with it, I will maintain good ties with him, and whoever severs it, I will sever ties with him."

'Abdu'r-Rahman ibn 'Awf heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, said, 'I am the Merciful (ar-Rahman). I have created ties of kinship and derives a name for it from My Name. If anyone maintains ties of kinship, I maintain connection with him, and I shall cut off anyone who cuts them off.'"

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ وَأَنَا خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَاشْتَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنَ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ

"يَقُولُ اللَّه -تَعَالَى-: أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ، وَهِى الرَّحِمُ، جَعَلْتُ لَهَا شُجْنَةً حَتَّى مَنْ وَصلَهَا وَصَلتُهُ، وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ، لَهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لِسَانٌ ذَلِقٌ".
