ahmad:27063Ibrāhīm And Yūnus > ʿAbd al-Raḥman from my father > Ummih ʿĀʾishah b. Qudāmah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is dearer to Allah that He takes the life of a Muslim than to allow him to enter Hell. Yunus ﷺ said this, meaning his two eyes."

[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Makkah, riding on his she-camel, while I was with my father. In the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was a precious gem, similar to the brightness of a written book. I heard the Bedouins and the people saying 'At-Tabtabiyyah'. My father approached him and held his foot. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ read the Qur'an for him, and my father accepted Islam. I witnessed the army of 'Uthran and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recognized that army. Tariq bin Al-Muraqqiq said, 'Who will gift me a spear for the sake of Allah?' I asked, 'What will be its reward?' He replied, 'I will marry him off to the first girl that becomes mine.' So, I gave him my spear and left. Later, he had a daughter, and when she reached the age of marriage, I went to him and said, 'Prepare my wife for me.' He said, 'No, by Allah, I will not prepare her until she receives a dowry other than that.' So, I swore that I would not do so. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'What about her?' I replied, 'She has seen the Qatir.' He said, 'Leave her, there is no goodness for you in her.' I felt scared by this and looked at him, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'You will not be sinful, nor will your friend.' My father said to him at that moment, 'I have taken a vow to slaughter a certain number of sheep.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I only know that number.' My father asked, 'How many?' He replied, 'Fifty sheep, on top of the mountain.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, 'Does it have any connection with these idols?' He said, 'No.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ directed him, 'Fulfill your vow to Allah.' So, my father collected the sheep and started to slaughter them. One sheep escaped from him, so he tried to catch it while saying, 'O Allah, fulfill my vow for me.' Then he caught it and slaughtered it."

ahmad:27066Abū Aḥmad

[Machine] I was sitting next to my father and I heard him asking the Prophet ﷺ , "O Messenger of Allah, I have made a vow to sacrifice a sheep at Buwana. Is it an idol or a tyrant?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "No, it is neither an idol nor a tyrant." My father then said, "Fulfill your vow."

[Machine] "It was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that a plate of Tharid was brought, and she ate with him and Dhu Al-Yadayn. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ handed her a date and said, 'O Umm Is'haq, are you affected by this?' I remembered that I was fasting, so my hand stopped from advancing or delaying it. The Prophet ﷺ asked, 'What is the matter with you?' She replied, 'I was fasting and I forgot.' Dhu Al-Yadayn then said, 'Now that you have eaten, complete your fast, for it is sustenance that Allah has given to you.'"

[Machine] I and Aisha were sitting when a woman from the Ansar entered. She said, "May Allah do to so-and-so as He did to him," referring to her son. I said to her, "What does that mean?" She said, "My son was among those who spoke about the matter." I asked her, "What is the matter?" She replied, "It is like this and like that." Aisha said, "I heard Abu Bakr speaking about that." I said, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ also talk about it?" She replied, "Yes." Then she fainted or fell unconscious. When she woke up, I poured water on her head and put clothes on her. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered and asked, "What is wrong with her?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, she fainted because of a high fever." He said, "Perhaps it is due to the matter she mentioned." I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." Aisha raised her head and said, "If I say something, will you believe me and will you testify to it?" She and I are like Jacob and his sons, as he said, 'Patience is most fitting and it is Allah whose help is sought against what you describe.' (Quran 12:18)" When her excuse was revealed, the Prophet ﷺ came to her and informed her about it. She said, "Praise be to Allah, not praise to you or to any other person."

[Machine] While I was with Aisha, a woman from the Ansar came to us and said, "Allah has taken away her son." Aisha asked her, "What did he say?" The woman replied, "He said such and such." Aisha then said, "Has the Messenger of Allah ﷺ been informed about this?" The woman answered, "Yes, he has been informed, as well as Abu Bakr." Aisha then fainted, and when she regained consciousness, she had a fever. Aisha said, "I got up and covered myself with a blanket." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered and asked, "What is wrong with her?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, she has been struck with a fever." He said, "Perhaps there is some news that she speaks about." Aisha remained silent. After a while, Aisha said, "By Allah, if I swear to you that you will not believe me, and if I apologize to you, you will not excuse me. My situation is like the situation of Yaqub (Jacob) and his sons. "And Allah is the Best of Helpers." (Surah Yusuf, 18). Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ left. Allah revealed her innocence to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came back with Abu Bakr and entered. He said to Aisha, "O Aisha, Allah has revealed your innocence." Aisha said, "Praise be to Allah, not to you." Abu Bakr said to her, "Are you saying this to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?" She replied, "Yes." Abu Bakr then turned to a man who used to support him financially and swore not to provide for him anymore. Allah then revealed, "And let not those who [greedily] withhold what Allah has given them of His bounty ever think that it is better for them. Rather, it is worse for them. Their necks will be encircled by what they withheld on the Day of Resurrection." Abu Bakr then said that he would resume the support.

We replied, 'We came out with you to tend to the wounded, give water to the soldiers, carry medicines for the injured, weave poetry to boost morale, and aid in the cause of Allah.' He said, 'Go back and leave.' When Allah granted him victory in Khaybar, he brought out arrows for us like the arrows of men. I said to my grandmother, 'And what did He bring out for you?' She replied, 'Dates.'"

The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , remained silent for a while, then he said, "Indeed, he has said. So whoever takes an oath, let him swear by the Lord of the Ka'bah." Then he said, "O Muhammad! [Machine] I arrived in the city and visited Fatimah bint Qays. She informed me that her husband divorced her during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him on a military expedition. She said her brother told her to leave the house, but she refused, as she was entitled to financial support and a place to stay until the waiting period ended. He denied her these rights and prevented her from receiving any financial support or a place to stay. So, she went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him that so-and-so divorced her, and his brother had kicked her out and denied her financial support and a place to stay. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ summoned him and asked, "What is your relationship with the daughter of the Qays family?" He replied, "O Messenger of Allah, my brother divorced her three times in total." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Listen, daughter of the Qays family, the wife is entitled to financial support and a place to stay by her husband only if he has any right over her. But if he doesn't have any right over her, then there is no financial support or a place to stay for her. So, leave and go to so-and-so's house." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He (the husband) is conversing with her, so go to Ibn Umm Maktum's son because he is blind and cannot see you. And do not marry until I authorize you to marry." She said, "A man from the Quraysh proposed to me, so I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to seek his advice. He asked, 'Won't you marry someone who is more beloved to me than him?' I replied, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' So, marry me to whomever you choose.' Then he married me to Usamah bin Zaid."

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , it is narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out one day and performed the prayer of migration, then he sat down. The people became startled, so he said, "Sit down, O people, for I did not rise from my place due to fear. Rather, Tamim Ad-Dari came to me and informed me of news that prevented me from experiencing joy and comfort. I wanted to share with you the joy of your Prophet. He informed me that a group from his cousins, the Banu 'Amir, had embarked on the sea, and they were struck by a violent wind. The wind brought them to an island they did not recognize. They sat in their boat until they arrived at the island. Then, they found a creature with a lot of hair that they were unsure if it was a man or a woman. They greeted it, and it returned their greeting. They said, 'Will you not inform us?' It said, 'I do not inform you, nor do I seek information from you. But in this monastery, there is someone who longingly awaits to inform you and seek information from you.' They said, 'Who are you?' It said, 'I am Al-Jassasah.' So, they set off until they reached the monastery. There, they found a man chained up, heavily bound, showing signs of great sadness and complaining a lot. They greeted him, and he returned their greetings. They asked him, 'Who are you?' He said, 'I am from the Arabs.' They asked, 'What have the Arabs done?' He said, 'Has their Prophet come forth after me?' They said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'What have they done?' They said, 'They have believed in him and affirmed him.' He said, 'That is good for them.' He had an enemy, and Allah exposed him to them. They asked, 'Are the Arabs today with one God, one religion, and one word?' They said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'What has happened to the spring of Zughar?' They said, 'The people drink from it, and their crops are irrigated by it.' He asked, 'What has happened to the date palm tree between 'Ammān and Bayt al-Maqdis?' They said, 'It produces fruit every year.' He asked, 'What has happened to the lake of Tabariyyah?' They said, 'It is full.' He sighed deeply, then sighed deeply again, then sighed deeply a third time. He swore, 'By the One in Whose Hands is the Life of Muhammad, it is as though if I were to leave my place right now, I would not leave behind any land belonging to Allah, except that I would tread upon it, except for Taibah. There is no authority for me over it.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'So, thus my joy reaches its peak. Surely, Allah has made Mecca and Medina sacred, and forbidden for the Dajjal to enter. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ swore, 'By the One besides whom there is no deity, there is no path, narrow or wide, in the east which is not guarded by an appointed angel with a drawn sword until the Day of Resurrection. The Dajjal will not be able to enter upon its inhabitants.' 'Amir commented, 'So, I met Al-Muharrir ibn Abi Hurayrah, and I narrated this Hadith to him. [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once came quickly to the pulpit and called out to the people to gather for the congregational prayer. The people gathered and he said, "O people, I did not call you out of desire or fear. Rather, Tamim the Dari informed me that a group of people from Palestine boarded a ship, but were thrown by the winds to an island among the islands of the sea. There, they encountered a beast with thick hair. It is not known whether it is male or female because of the abundance of its hair. They asked, 'Who are you?' and it replied, 'I am the Jassasah.' They asked it to inform them, but it replied, 'I am not an informer or one who seeks information. However, in this monastery, there is a poor man who longs to inform you and seek information from you.' So they entered the monastery and found a man chained with iron. They asked, 'Who are you?' and he said, 'We are the Arabs.' He asked them, 'Has the Prophet been sent among you?' and they replied, 'Yes.' He asked, 'Have the Arabs obeyed him?' and they replied, 'Yes.' He said, 'That is good for them.' He asked, 'What has Persia done?' and they answered, 'It has not appeared on it yet.' He said, 'Indeed, it will appear on it.' Then he asked, 'What has happened to Zughar?' and they replied, 'It is flowing abundantly.' He asked, 'What has happened to the palm trees of Baysan?' and they replied, 'They have been fertilized.' He then jumped away until we thought he would slip away, so we asked, 'Who are you?' and he replied, 'I am the Dajjal (the Antichrist). Indeed, I will travel throughout the entire earth except Makkah and Madinah.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Rejoice, O Muslims. This is the land of Tayyiba (Madinah) that he cannot enter.'"

He said to her, "You know that I have dedicated it for the sake of Allah." She said, "Then give me the straw of your date-palm trees." He said, "You know that it is the provision for my family." She said, "But I talk to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he speaks to me." They continued walking until they entered upon him (the Prophet). She said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have a Hajj obligation and my husband has a young camel." Abu Maqil said, "You have spoken the truth; I have devoted it to the sake of Allah." The Prophet said, "Give it to her and let her perform Hajj on it, for it is dedicated to the sake of Allah."
