“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: ‘What do you use as a laxative?’ I said: ‘The Shubrum (spurge – Euphorb).’ He said: (It is) hot and powerful.’ Then I used senna as a laxative and he said: ‘If anything were to cure death, it would be senna. Senna is a cure for death.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3461)

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِمَاذَا كُنْتِ تَسْتمَشْينَ؟ قَالَتْ بِالشُّبْرُمِ قَالَ حَارٌّ جَارٌّ ثُمَّ اسْتَشْفَيْتُ بِالسَّنَا قَالَ لَوْ كَانَ شَيْءٌ يَشْفِي مِنَ الْمَوْتِ كَانَ السَّنَا أَوِ السَّنَا شِفَاءٌ مِنَ الْمَوْتِ

[Machine] To the messenger of Allah ﷺ, I said: "With what were you walking?" He said: "I was walking with shubrum." I said: "That is hot, very hot." Then I walked with senna (a type of plant). He said: "If there was anything that could cure death, it would be senna."

[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ asked her, "How do you walk?" She replied, "I used to walk with a shubitum (a type of walking stick)." He said, "It is like a fire, it is like a fire." She replied, "Then I walked with a cane." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If there was a cure for death, it would be senna."
