12. Remaing Anṣār (6/28)
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The caliphate or leadership will be for thirty years, then there will be a kingdom (monarchy), and he mentioned it."
[Machine] I was with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, and we arrived at a valley. He said, "I was passing by the people or carrying them." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "What were you today except a ship? What are you except a ship?" It was said to Shurayh, "He is the ship of the guardian of Umm Salamah."
[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and whenever some of the people got tired, they would throw their swords, shields, and spears on me until I carried many things. Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "You are the ship."
Safinah AbuAbdurRahman said that a man prepared food for Ali ibn AbuTalib who was his guest, and Fatimah said: I wish we had invited the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he had eaten with us. They invited him, and when he came he put his hands on the side-ports of the door, but when he saw the figured curtain which had been put at the end of the house, he went away. So Fatimah said to Ali: Follow him and see what turned him back. I (Ali) followed him and asked: What turned you back, Messenger of Allah? He replied: It is not fitting for me or for any Prophet to enter a house which is decorated. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3755)
“Umm Salamah freed me but stipulated that I should serve the Prophet ﷺ as long he lived.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2526)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The caliphate in my Ummah will be for thirty years, then there will be kingship after that." Then he said to me, "Safinah, hold on to the caliphate of Abu Bakr, the caliphate of Umar, the caliphate of Uthman, and hold on to the caliphate of Ali." He said, "So we found it for thirty years. Then I looked afterwards at the caliphs and I did not find it proper for them for thirty years." I said to Saeed, "Where did you meet Safinah?" He said, "I met him inside a date palm tree during the time of Hajjaj, and I stayed with him for eight nights. I asked him about the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, I asked him, "What is your name?" He said, "I am not informing you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ named me Safinah." I said, "Why did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ name you Safinah?" He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out with his companions and they were carrying their belongings. He said to me, "Spread your garment." So I spread it and they put their belongings in it. Then they put it on me. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Carry it, for you are the Safinah (boat). If I were to carry a load on that day, even if it were the weight of a camel or two camels or three or four or five or six or seven, it would not be burdensome to me except if they become fatigued."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, there was no prophet before me except that he warned his nation about the Dajjal. Indeed, the Dajjal is one-eyed, and his left eye is blind and covered with a thick layer, while between his two eyes is written 'disbeliever.' He will come with two valleys, one of them being paradise, and the other being fire. His fire will be paradise, and his paradise will be fire. With him, there will be two angels resembling two prophets from the prophets. If I wished, I could name them both by their names and the names of their fathers. One of them will be on his right side, and the other on his left side. This is a trial. The Dajjal will then say, 'Am I not your Lord? Am I not the one who brings life and death?' One of the two angels will say to him, 'You are a liar, no one hears this except for his companion.' The Dajjal will then say to him, 'You have spoken the truth.' People will hear this and they will think that the Dajjal is being confirmed as their Lord. This will be a trial. Then, he will continue until he reaches Madinah, and no one will be safe from his harm. He will say, 'This is the city of that person.' Then, he will continue until he reaches Ash-Sham, where Allah will destroy him at the mountain pass of Afiq."
[Machine] The ship of the servant of the messenger of Allah ﷺ informed me that the messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution with a mudd (a measurement unit) and wash his body with one sa' (another measurement unit) of water from ritual impurity.
[Machine] From the ship of the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, it was said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ghusl (ritual bath) with a sa' (a measure of volume) and purify himself with mud."
[Machine] "So whenever a man became tired, he would throw his garment on me as a shield or a sword, until I ended up carrying a lot of them. The Prophet ﷺ said to me, 'You are a ship.'"
[Machine] A man went astray and Ali made him food. Fatimah said to Ali, "If you call the Prophet, ﷺ , he can eat with us. Let's invite him." So, he came and took hold of my doorpost, and we had broken pieces of clay in a corner of the house. When he saw it, he turned back. Fatimah said to Ali, "Go after him and see what made him turn back." Ali said, "What stopped you, O Prophet of Allah?" He said, "It is not fitting for a prophet to enter a lavishly decorated house."
[Machine] It is not for a prophet to enter a decorated house.
12.12 [Machine] Saeed bin Saad bin Obadah
[Machine] Amongst us, there was a weak and feeble man who had not fulfilled his duties towards the people of the house, except by a group of female servants. He took advantage of them and he was a Muslim. Saad (a companion of the Prophet Muhammad) brought this matter to the attention of the Prophet ﷺ, so he said, "Give him the punishment prescribed for his actions." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, he is weaker than that. If we strike him a hundred times, we will kill him." He said, "Then, take him a bundle of one hundred branches and strike him once with it, and let him go."
12.13 [Machine] Hassan bin Thabit
I used to recite (verses) when one better than you (the Holy Prophet) had been present (here). He then looked towards Abu Huraira and said to him: I adjure you by Allah (to tell) if you had not heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: (Hassan), give a reply on my behalf; Allah I help him with Ruh-ul-Qudus. He (Abu Huraira) said: By Allah, it is so (i. e. the Prophet actually said these words). (Using translation from Muslim 2485a)
[Machine] Umar passed by Hassaan while he was reciting poetry in the mosque. Umar asked, "Are you reciting poetry in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" Hassaan replied, "I used to recite poetry in it, and there were those who were better than me. Or I used to recite poetry in it, and there were those who were better than me."
[Machine] Umar passed by Hassan while he was reciting in the mosque, so Umar asked him, "What are you reciting?" Hassan replied, "I was reciting about who is better than you." Umar then left, knowing that he was seeking the approval of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ .
[Machine] Hassan, by Allah, I have indeed praised in him, someone who is better than you, and I feared that he would throw it at the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he responded and left it.
12.14 [Machine] Omair, the servant of Abi al-Lahm
[Machine] "I witnessed the Battle of Khaybar with my masters, and they spoke about me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So, he commanded me and I handed over a sword. Suddenly, I was rewarded and informed that I was a free man. Then, he ordered me to keep some of the spoils of war as my portion."
[Machine] I witnessed the battle of Khaybar with my companions, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered me to carry a sword. As I was carrying it, he said to me, "You will fight with it." It was then said to him, "Indeed, he is a slave who is owned." He then gave me some of the spoils of war. I also presented to him a healing charm that I used to use in the pre-Islamic period to treat the insane. He told me to throw away certain things from it and continue using what remained. Muhammad ibn Zaid said, "I caught up with him while he was still using it to treat the insane."
[Machine] "I accompanied my two masters intending to migrate. When we approached the city, they entered and left me behind. I experienced severe hunger. Some people who were leaving the city passed by me and said, 'If you enter the city, you will find plenty of fruits within its walls.' So, I entered one of the walls and took two handfuls of dates. The owner of the wall caught me and brought me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him about me. I was wearing two garments. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked me, 'Which one of them is better?' I pointed to one of them, so he said, 'Take it and give the other garment to the owner of the wall.' And he let me go."
He saw the Messenger of Allah at Ahjar Az-Zait praying for rain and raising his hands, making supplications. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1514)
Umayr saw the Prophet ﷺ praying for rain at Ahjar az-Zayt near az-Zawra', standing, making supplication, praying for rain and raising his hands in front of his face, but not lifting them above his head. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1168)
[Machine] He saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned his likeness.
12.15 [Machine] Amr bin Al-Hamaq Al-Khazai
[Machine] I was standing over the leader's head, and when his lie became apparent to me, I intended, by Allah, to draw my sword and strike his neck until I remembered a Hadith that was narrated to me by 'Amr ibn al-Hamiq. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever guarantees the safety of a man's life, I will give him the banner of treachery on the Day of Judgment."
[Machine] I entered upon Al-Mukhtar and he threw a pillow for me and said, "If it wasn't for my brother Jibril standing up for this, I would have thrown it at you." So I intended to strike his neck, but then I remembered a narration that my brother 'Amr bin Al-Hameq had told me, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever inviolably protects a believer's blood, it is unlawful to shed his blood." So I am innocent from being a murderer."
[Machine] I was standing over the leader's head, and when I found out he was lying, I thought about drawing my sword and striking his neck. Then, I remembered a saying that 'Amr bin al-Hamiq narrated to us, in which he said he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Whoever guarantees the safety of a person, then kills him, will be given the banner of treachery on the Day of Judgment."
[Machine] He heard the Prophet ﷺ say: "When Allah intends good for a servant, He uses him." It was asked: "What is the use He makes of him?" He said: "He grants him righteous acts during his lifetime until he is pleased with him and those around him."
12.16 [Machine] A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ
[Machine] "From a man among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded Abdullah ibn Hudhafah As-Sahmi to ride his mount during the days of Mina and proclaim to the people saying that no one should fast, for these are the days of eating and drinking. He said: Indeed, I saw him on his mount calling out this."
[Machine] From a man among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ , it was narrated that the Prophet ﷺ stood up as a preacher on that day. He praised and glorified Allah, and sought forgiveness for the martyrs who were killed in the Battle of Uhud. Then he said, "Indeed, you, O emigrants, are increasing while the Ansar are not increasing. And the Ansar are my shade, who have provided me refuge. Honor their dignified ones and overlook their offenders, as they have fulfilled their obligations and what remains is for them."

[Machine] I came to the Prophet to pledge allegiance to him. He stipulated that I testify that there is no god but Allah, Muhammad is His slave and messenger, and that I establish prayer, give Zakat, perform the Hajj pilgrimage, fast during the month of Ramadan, and strive in the cause of Allah. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, except for two things, I am unable to fulfill the requirements of Jihad and giving in charity. They say that whoever turns his back during a battle has earned the anger of Allah. I fear that if I witness such situations, my desires will overpower me and I will dislike death and giving in charity. By Allah, I have nothing except for booty and possessions. They are the messengers of my family." The Messenger of Allah then took his hand and moved it, then said, "Then there is no Jihad or giving in charity. So how will you enter Paradise?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I pledge allegiance to you." He said, "Then pledge allegiance to me with all of these conditions."
[Machine] Narrator Basheer ibn al-Khasaasiyyah narrated that Rasulullah ﷺ saw a man walking in two sandals between the graves. So he said, "O wearer of two sandals, throw them away."

[Machine] He asked the Prophet ﷺ , "Should I fast on Fridays and not speak to anyone on that day?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Do not fast on Fridays unless you are fasting on days close to it or in the month. As for not speaking to anyone, by my life, it is better to speak with kindness and forbid evil than to remain silent."
[Machine] "And he (the Prophet) said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade that, and he said, 'The Christians do that.' And 'Affan said, 'The Christians do that, but fast as Allah commanded you and complete the fast until the night, and when the night comes, break your fast.'"
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ had come, and his name was Zahm. The Prophet ﷺ named him Bashir.

[Machine] A man greeted the Prophet ﷺ and he had an ailment, but the Prophet ﷺ did not reply to him until he motioned with his hand towards the wall, meaning that he had performed Tayammum.

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was commanded to perform ablution before every prayer, whether he was in a state of ritual purity or not. When this became burdensome for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he was then commanded to use a toothbrush (siwak) before every prayer, and ablution was no longer required for him except in cases of ritual impurity."
