[Machine] I was standing over the leader's head, and when his lie became apparent to me, I intended, by Allah, to draw my sword and strike his neck until I remembered a Hadith that was narrated to me by 'Amr ibn al-Hamiq. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever guarantees the safety of a man's life, I will give him the banner of treachery on the Day of Judgment."  

أحمد:٢١٩٤٦حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ قَالَ

كُنْتُ أَقُومُ عَلَى رَأْسِ الْمُخْتَارِ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنْتُ كِذَابَتَهُ هَمَمْتُ وَايْمُ اللهِ أَنْ أَسُلَّ سَيْفِي فَأَضْرِبَ عُنُقَهُ حَتَّى ذَكَرْتُ حَدِيثًا حَدَّثَنِيهِ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَمِقِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَمَّنَ رَجُلًا عَلَى نَفْسِهِ فَقَتَلَهُ أُعْطِيَ لِوَاءَ الْغَدْرِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

Then, I remembered a saying that 'Amr bin al-Hamiq narrated to us, in which he said he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Whoever guarantees the safety of a person, then kills him, will be given the banner of treachery on the Day of Judgment."
