[Machine] I was standing over the leader's head, and when I found out he was lying, I thought about drawing my sword and striking his neck. Then, I remembered a saying that 'Amr bin al-Hamiq narrated to us, in which he said he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Whoever guarantees the safety of a person, then kills him, will be given the banner of treachery on the Day of Judgment."  

أحمد:٢١٩٤٨ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنِيعَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ قَالَ

كُنْتُ أَقُومُ عَلَى رَأْسِ الْمُخْتَارِ فَلَمَّا عَرَفْتُ كَذِبَهُ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَسُلَّ سَيْفِي فَأَضْرِبَ عُنُقَهُ فَذَكَرْتُ حَدِيثًا حَدَّثَنَاهُ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَمِقِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَمَّنَ رَجُلًا عَلَى نَفْسِهِ فَقَتَلَهُ أُعْطِيَ لِوَاءَ الْغَدْرِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[Machine] I was standing over the leader's head, and when his lie became apparent to me, I intended, by Allah, to draw my sword and strike his neck until I remembered a Hadith that was narrated to me by 'Amr ibn al-Hamiq. كُنْتُ أَقُومُ عَلَى رَأْسِ الْمُخْتَارِ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنْتُ كِذَابَتَهُ هَمَمْتُ وَايْمُ اللهِ أَنْ أَسُلَّ سَيْفِي فَأَضْرِبَ عُنُقَهُ حَتَّى ذَكَرْتُ حَدِيثًا حَدَّثَنِيهِ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَمِقِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَمَّنَ رَجُلًا عَلَى نَفْسِهِ فَقَتَلَهُ أُعْطِيَ لِوَاءَ الْغَدْرِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[Machine] "I stood on top of Al-Mukhtar, but when his lying became clear to me, I intended by Allah to draw my sword and strike his neck until I remembered a hadith narrated to me by 'Amr ibn Al-Hamiq, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever believes in a man and then kills him, he will be given the banner of betrayal on the Day of Judgment.'"
