Yahya related to me from Malik from Yazid ibn Khusayfa that he had asked Sulayman ibn Yasar whether zakat was due from a man who had wealth in hand but also owed a debt for the same amount, and he replied, "No." Malik said, "The position that we are agreed upon concerning a debt is that the lender of it does not pay zakat on it until he gets it back. Even if it stays with the borrower for a number of years before the lender collects it, the lender only has to pay zakat on it once. If he collects an amount of the debt which is not zakatable, and has other wealth which is zakatable, then what he has collected of the debt is added to the rest of his wealth and he pays zakat on the total sum." Malik continued, "If he has no ready money other than that which he has collected from his debt, and that does not reach a zakatable amount, then he does not have to pay any zakat. He must, however, keep a record of the amount that he has collected and if, later, he collects another amount which, when added to what he has already collected, brings zakat into effect, then he has to pay zakat on it." Malik continued, "Zakat is due on this first amount, together with what he has further collected of the debt owed to him, regardless of whether or not he has used up what he first collected. If what he takes back reaches twenty dinars of gold, or two hundred dirhams of silver he pays zakat on it. He pays zakat on anything else he takes back afte rthat, whether it be a large or small amount, according to the amount." Malik said, "What shows that zakat is only taken once from a debt which is out of hand for some years before it is recovered is that if goods remain with a man for trading purposes for some years before he sells them, he only has to pay zakat on their prices once. This is because the one who is owed the debt, or owns the goods, should not have to take the zakat on the debt, or the goods, from anything else, since the zakat on anything is only taken from the thing itself, and not from anything else." Malik said, "Our position regarding some onewho owes a debt, and has goods which are worth enough to pay off the debt, and also has an amount of ready money which is zakatable, is that he pays the zakat on the ready money which he has to hand. If, however, he only has enough goods and ready money to pay off the debt, then he does not have to pay any zakat. But if the ready money that he has reaches a zakatable amount over and above the amount of the debt that he owes, then he must pay zakat on it."

"I was traveling and I came to the Prophet when I was fasting, and he was eating. He said:'Come (and eat).' I said: 'I am fasting.' He said: 'Come here; do you not know what Allah has waived for the traveler?' I said: 'What has Allah waived for the traveler?' He said: 'Fasting and half of the prayer." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2279)
the Messenger of Allah used to enjoin (fasting) these days of Al-Bid and he said: "That is (equivalent to) fasting for the whole month." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2430)
[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ came to me and said, "I will present a matter to you, and it is not necessary for you to rush until you consult your parents." So, I asked, "What is this matter?" She recited the verse to me, "O Prophet, say to your wives, 'If you should desire the worldly life and its adornment, then come, I will provide for you and give you a gracious release. But if you should desire Allah and His Messenger and the home of the Hereafter - then indeed, Allah has prepared for the doers of good among you a great reward.'" (Quran 33:29) Then I asked, "Why do you command me to consult my parents?" Instead, I want Allah and His Messenger and the Hereafter. So the Prophet ﷺ was pleased with this and said, "I will present to your companions what I presented to you." So he would say to them what he said to Aisha, and then he would say, "Aisha has chosen Allah and His Messenger and the Hereafter." Aisha said, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave us a choice, but we did not see that as a divorce."

Hudhayfah saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying at night. He said: Allah is most great" three times, "Possessor of kingdom, grandeur, greatness and majesty." He then began (his prayer) and recited Surah al-Baqarah; then he bowed and he paused in bowing as long as he stood up; he said while bowing, "Glory be to my mighty Lord," "Glory be to my mighty Lord" ; then he raised his head, after bowing: then he stood up and he paused as long as he paused in bowing and said, "Praise be to my Lord" ; then he prostrated and paused in prostration as long as he paused in the standing position; he said while prostrating: "Glory be to my most high Lord"; then he raised his head after prostration, and sat as long as he prostrated, and said while sitting: "O my Lord forgive me." He offered four rak'ahs of prayer and recited in them Surah al-Baqarah, Aal Imran, an-Nisa, al-Ma'idah, or al-An'am. The narrator Shu'bah doubted. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 874)

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he used to say, "O Allah, bless Muhammad and his household, his wives, and his descendants as You have blessed the family of Ibrahim. You are indeed praiseworthy and glorious. And bestow blessings upon Muhammad and his household, his wives, and his descendants as You have bestowed blessings upon the family of Ibrahim. You are indeed praiseworthy and glorious." Ibn Tawus said, "And my father used to say something similar to that."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , described women as being like the rib of a Arabian sheep, neither too small nor too big. It should be melted and then divided into three parts, and one part should be drunk every day on an empty stomach.
[Machine] A group of women from Sham entered upon Aisha and said, "Are you the ones who enter the bathrooms?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Any woman who removes her clothing outside of her home has indeed torn the veil between herself and Allah." Hajjaj said, "(This means that) every woman has indeed torn her veil."
