"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died; shall I give in charity on her behalf?' He said: 'Yes.' I said: 'What kind of charity is best?' He said: 'Providing drinking water.'"
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أُمِّي مَاتَتْ أَفَأَتَصَدَّقُ عَنْهَا قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ فَأَىُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ سَقْىُ الْمَاءِ

"مَا بَالُ رِجَالٍ يُؤذُونِى فِي الْعَبَّاسِ، وَإِن عَمَّ الرَّجُلِ صِنْوُ أَبِيهِ".
"لا تُؤْذُونِ في الْعَبَّاسِ، فَإِنّ عَمَّ الرَّجُلِ صِنْوُ أَبِيِه".
"عَن ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: أَعْتِقُ عَنْ أُمِّي وَقَدْ مَاتَتْ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ".
"عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ : إِنَّ أَبِي مَاتَ أَفَأَعْتِقُ عَنْهُ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ".
"عَنْ عَطَاء بْنِ أَبِى رَبَاحٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! أعتق عَنْ أمى وَقَدْ مَاتَتْ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ".
