[Machine] "I and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution from the same vessel." I would say to him, "Leave some for me, leave some for me."  

«كُنْتُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَغْتَسِلُ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ» أَقُولُ لَهُ أَبْقِ لِي أَبْقِ لِي  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "In every unit of prayer, there is a testimony and a greeting upon the Messengers and those who followed them from the righteous servants of Allah."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ تَشَهُّدٌ وَتَسْلِيمٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَعَلَى مَنْ تَبِعَهُمْ مِنْ عِبَادِ اللهِ الصَّالِحِينَ»  

[Machine] I said, O Messenger of Allah, tell me about the saying of Allah: "{with] companions with beautiful, large eyes," He said, "They are fair-skinned, wide-eyed maidens, resembling hidden pearls, untouched by men's hands." I said, O Messenger of Allah, tell me about His saying: "{as if they were] pearls well-protected." He said, "Their purity is like the clarity of pearls in unopened shells, which have not been touched by hands." I said, O Messenger of Allah, tell me about His saying: "{in them are good and beautiful [maidens]." He said, "They are the ones with the best manners and prettiest faces." I said, O Messenger of Allah, tell me about His saying: "{though untouched] pearls." He said, "Their softness is like the softness of the skin that you see on the inside of an egg, after removing the shell, which is the customary skin." I said, O Messenger of Allah, tell me about His saying: "{companions] of the right." He said, "They are the elderly women who died in the world, with white hair and loose skin. Allah created them in a youthful, ardent, and passionate state, like the period of mating. They are attached together, desiring one another, on one birth date." I said, O Messenger of Allah, are the women of this world better or the wide-eyed maidens? He said, "Rather, the women of this world are better than the wide-eyed maidens, just as the external garment is better than the lining." I said, O Messenger of Allah, why is that? He said, "Because of their prayers, fasting, and worship, Allah has dressed their faces with light, and their bodies with silk, with bright-colored pearls, green garments, yellow jewelry, and golden combs. They say, 'Behold, we are the eternal ones, so we never die. Behold, we are the blissful ones, so we never suffer. Behold, we are the established ones, so we never move away. Behold, we are the content ones, so we never become unhappy.' Bliss is for the ones we belong to and who belong to us." I said, O Messenger of Allah, when a woman from our world marries two, three, or four husbands, then dies and enters Paradise, who will be her spouse? He said, O Umm Salamah, she will be given a choice and she will choose the best of them in terms of character. She will say, O Lord, this was the best companion with me in character in the world, so marry me to him, O Umm Salamah, for the beauty of character is the best of both worlds, in this world and the Hereafter.  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قَوْلِ اللهِ {حُورٌ عِينٌ} قَالَ حُورٌ بِيضٌ عِينٌ ضِخَامُ الْعُيُونِ شُقْرُ الْجَرْدَاءِ بِمَنْزِلَةِ جَنَاحِ النُّسُورِ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قَوْلِهِ {كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَكْنُونٌ} قَالَ «صَفَاؤُهُنَّ صَفَاءُ الدُّرِّ فِي الْأَصْدَافِ الَّتِي لَمْ تَمَسَّهُ الْأَيْدِي» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قَوْلِهِ {فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ} قَالَ «خَيْرَاتُ الْأَخْلَاقِ حِسَانُ الْوُجُوهِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قَوْلِهِ {كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَكْنُونٌ} قَالَ «رِقَّتُهُنَّ كَرِقَّةِ الْجِلْدِ الَّذِي رَأَيْتِ فِي دَاخِلِ الْبَيْضَةِ مِمَّا يَلِي الْقِشْرَ وَهُوَ الْعُرْفِيُّ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قَوْلِهِ {عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا} قَالَ «هُنَّ اللَّوَاتِي قُبِضْنَ فِي دَارِ الدُّنْيَا عَجَائِزَ رَمْضَاءَ شَمْطَاءَ خَلَقَهُنَّ اللهُ بَعْدَ الْكِبَرِ فَجَعَلَهُنَّ عَذَارَى عُرُبًا مُتَعَشَّقَاتٍ مُحَبَّبَاتٍ أَتْرَابًا عَلَى مِيلَادٍ وَاحِدٍ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنِسَاءُ الدُّنْيَا أَفْضَلُ أَمِ الْحُورُ الْعِينُ؟ قَالَ «بَلْ نِسَاءُ الدُّنْيَا أَفْضَلُ مِنَ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ كَفَضْلِ الظِّهَارَةِ عَلَى الْبِطَانَةِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَبِمَا ذَاكَ؟ قَالَ بِصَلَاتِهِنَّ وَصِيَامِهِنَّ وَعِبَادَتِهِنَّ اللهَ أَلْبَسَ اللهُ وُجُوهَهُنَّ النُّورَ وَأَجْسَادَهُنَّ الْحَرِيرَ بِيضَ الْأَلْوَانِ خُضْرَ الثِّيَابِ صَفْرَاءَ الْحُلِيِّ مَجَامِرُهُنَّ الدُّرُّ وَأَمْشَاطُهُنَّ الذَّهَبُ يَقُلْنَ أَلَا نَحْنُ الْخَالِدَاتُ فَلَا نَمُوتُ أَبَدًا أَلَا وَنَحْنُ النَّاعِمَاتُ فَلَا نَبْؤُسُ أَبَدًا أَلَا وَنَحْنُ الْمُقِيمَاتُ فَلَا نَظْعَنُ أَبَدًا أَلَا وَنَحْنُ الرَّاضِيَاتُ فَلَا نَسْخَطُ أَبَدًا طُوبَى لِمَنْ كُنَّا لَهُ وَكَانَ لَنَا قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنَّا تَتَزَوَّجُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ وَالْأَرْبَعَةَ ثُمَّ تَمُوتُ فَتَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ وَيَدْخُلُونَ مَعَهَا مَنْ يَكُونُ زَوْجُهَا؟ قَالَ يَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ إِنَّهَا تُخَيَّرُ فَتَخْتَارُ أَحْسَنَهُمْ خُلُقًا فَتَقُولُ أَيْ رَبِّ إِنَّ هَذَا كَانَ أَحْسَنَهُمْ مَعِي خُلُقًا فِي دَارِ الدُّنْيَا فَزَوِّجْنِيهِ يَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ ذَهَبَ حُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ بِخَيْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ gifted Fatimah with a shawl from his own garment.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «شَبَّرَ لِفَاطِمَةَ مِنْ ذَيْلِهَا شِبْرًا»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do your part and don't rely solely on me, for my intercession is for those who are doomed from my ummah (nation)."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اعْمَلِي وَلَا تَتَّكِلِي فَإِنَّ شَفَاعَتِي لِلْهَالِكِينَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي»  

A band of rebels would kill ʿAmmar. (Using translation from Muslim 2916c)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تَقْتُلُ عَمَّارًا الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ»  

A group of rebels would kill you. (Using translation from Muslim 2916a)  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَمَّارٍ «تَقْتُلُهُ الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ»  

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Whoever says in the morning, 'Alhamdulillah, all praise is due to Allah, by whose greatness everything humbles itself,' ten good deeds will be written for him."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يُصْبِحُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي تَوَاضَعَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ لِعَظَمَتِهِ كُتِبَتْ لَهُ عَشْرُ حَسَنَاتٍ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to say when he went out to pray, "O Allah, make me closer to those who come close to You, and direct me towards those who turn to You, and respond to those who ask You."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي أَقْرَبَ مَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْكَ وَأَوْجَهَ مَنْ تَوَجَّهَ إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْحَحَ مَنْ سَأَلَكَ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever says every day, 'O Allah, forgive me and the believing men and women, and grant him a good deed from every believer,'  

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَنْ قَالَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ أَلْحِقْ بِهِ مِنْ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ حَسَنَةً  

[Machine] "Women used to stay at home for forty nights after giving birth, and we would pray with marks on our faces from the callus."  

«كَانَتِ النِّسَاءُ تَقْعُدُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْدَ نِفَاسِهَا أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً وَكُنَّا نُصَلِّي وَعَلَى وُجُوهِنَا الْوَرْسُ مِنَ الْكَلَفِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade mixing dates with raisins and cooking the mango.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَنْهَى أَنْ يُخْلَطَ التَّمْرُ بِالزَّبِيبِ وَأَنْ يُعْجَمَ النِّوَاءُ طَبْخًا»  

[Machine] She (referring to Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad) asked about the drink, so she said, "Shall I inform you of what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to forbid his family from doing? He used to forbid us from mixing raisins with dates."  

أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَنِ الشَّرَابِ فَقَالَتْ أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنْهُ أَهْلَهُ كَانَ «يَنْهَانَا أَنْ يُخْلَطَ الزَّبِيبُ بِالتَّمْرِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one should avoid entering this mosque except for me and Ali."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ أَنْ يُجْنِبَ فِي هَذَا الْمَسْجِدِ إِلَّا أَنَا وَعَلِيٌّ»  

"I entered upon Umm Salamah while she was crying, so I said: 'What causes you to cry?' She said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah - that is, in a dream - and there was was dirt on his head and his beard. so I said: "What is wrong with you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: 'I just witnessed the killing of Al-Husain.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3771)  

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَهِيَ تَبْكِي فَقُلْتُ مَا يُبْكِيكِ؟ فَقَالَتْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَعْنِي فِي الْمَنَامِ وَعَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَلِحْيَتِهِ التُّرَابُ فَقُلْتُ مَا لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ «شَهِدْتُ قَتْلَ الْحُسَيْنِ آنِفًا»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the masjid and called out loudly, "Certainly, this masjid is not permissible for those in a state of major ritual impurity or for women in their menstrual periods, except for the Prophet and his wives and Fatimah bint Muhammad and Ali. Did I not make it clear to you so that you do not go astray?"  

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَنَادَى بِأَعْلَى صَوْتِهِ «أَلَا إِنَّ هَذَا الْمَسْجِدَ لَا يَحِلُّ لِجُنُبٍ وَلَا لِحَائِضٍ إِلَّا لِلنَّبِيِّ وَأَزْوَاجِهِ وَفَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلِيٍّ أَلَا بَيَّنْتُ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَضِلُّوا»  

she heard Umm Salamah say: “I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Any woman who dies when her husband is pleased with her, will enter Paradise.' ” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1854)  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ مَاتَتْ وَزَوْجُهَا عَنْهَا رَاضٍ دَخَلَتِ الْجَنَّةَ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying, "A believer should not hate Ali, and a hypocrite should not love him."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يُبْغِضُ عَلِيًّا مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا يُحِبُّهُ مُنَافِقٌ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, "No one loves Ali except a believer and no one hates Ali except a hypocrite."  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يُحِبُّ عَلِيًّا إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا يُبْغِضُهُ إِلَّا مُنَافِقٌ»  

[Machine] "And what Umm Salamah swore by is that if anyone is closer to the Messenger of Allah, Ali would be with him in the house of Aisha, and I was the last person to leave the house. Then we sat near the door, and Ali came and made a covenant with him, and whispered to him."  

«وَالَّذِي تَحْلِفُ بِهِ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ إِنْ كَانَ أَقْرَبُ النَّاسِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَلِيًّا كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِ عَائِشَةَ فَكُنْتُ آخِرَ مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ جَلَسْنَا أَدْنَى مِنَ الْبَابِ وَأَكَبَّ عَلَيْهِ عَلِيٌّ فَكَانَ آخِرَ النَّاسِ بِهِ عَهْدًا يُسَارُّهُ وَيُنَاجِيهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no swearing of oaths in Islam, and whatever oaths were made in the pre-Islamic era, Islam has only increased them in severity."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا حِلْفَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ وَمَا كَانَ مِنْ حِلْفٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَمْ يَزِدْهُ الْإِسْلَامُ إِلَّا شِدَّةً»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ called for his maid, but she was slow in responding. He said, "If it were not for the fear of punishment on the Day of Resurrection, I would have punished you with this tooth stick."  

دَعَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَصِيفَةً لَهُ فَأَبْطَأَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «لَوْلَا مَخَافَةُ الْقَوَدِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَأَوْجَعْتُكِ بِهَذَا السِّوَاكِ»  

The Prophet ﷺ said: He who is consulted is trustworthy. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5128)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْمُسْتَشَارُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ»  

[Machine] She heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "When evil appears on the earth, Allah sends His punishment upon the inhabitants of the earth." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what if there are righteous people among them?" He said, "Yes, even if there are righteous people among them, they will be afflicted with what the people are afflicted with, then they will return to the mercy and forgiveness of Allah."  

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا ظَهَرَ الشَّرُّ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَنْزَلَ اللهُ بَأْسَهُ بِأَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَإِنْ كَانَ فِيهِمْ قَوْمٌ صَالِحُونَ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَإِنْ كَانَ فِيهِمْ قَوْمٌ صَالِحُونَ يُصِيبُهُمْ مَا أَصَابَ النَّاسَ ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُونَ إِلَى رَحْمَةِ اللهِ وَمَغْفِرَتِهِ»  

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ said to Ali, "Wouldn't you be satisfied to be to me as Haroon was to Musa, except that there is no prophet after me."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ «أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي كَمَا هَارُونُ مِنْ مُوسَى غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ»  

[Machine] The daughter of Zubayr, may Allah be pleased with her, came to the Prophet ﷺ while she was complaining. He said to her, "Why don't you join us on this journey?" She replied, "O Messenger of Allah, I am complaining and I fear that my complaint might confine me." He said, "Prepare for Hajj and say: 'O Allah, be my sanctuary wherever You confine me.'"  

أَتَتْ ضُبَاعَةُ بِنْتُ الزُّبَيْرِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهِيَ شَاكِيَةٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا «أَلَا تَخْرُجِينَ مَعَنَا فِي سَفَرِنَا هَذَا؟» فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي شَاكِيَةٌ وَأَخْشَى أَنْ تَحْبِسَنِي شَكْوَتِي قَالَ «فَأَهِلِّي بِالْحَجِّ وَقُولِي اللهُمَّ مَحِلِّي حَيْثُ حَبِسْتَنِي»  

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray Witr with seven or five Rak’ah, and he would not say Salam or speak in between them.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1192)  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُوتِرُ بِسَبْعٍ وَبِخَمْسٍ لَا يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُنَّ بِتَسْلِيمٍ وَلَا بِكَلَامٍ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Verily, the one who shows kindness to you after me is the truthful and righteous. O Allah, grant Ibn Awf a drink from the river of paradise."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الَّذِي يَحْنُو عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِي هُوَ الصَّادِقُ الْبَارُّ اللهُمَّ اسْقِ ابْنَ عَوْفٍ مِنْ سَلْسَبِيلِ الْجَنَّةِ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to say during his illness in which he passed away, "Prayer and what your right hands possess." He continued to say it until his tongue could no longer utter it.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي تُوُفِّيَ فِيهِ «الصَّلَاةُ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ» فَمَا زَالَ يَقُولُهَا حَتَّى مَا يُقْبَضُ بِهَا لِسَانُهُ  

[Machine] The Prophet's companion, Umm Salamah, told her husband's ship owner that Umm Salamah informed her that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not accompany angels in a ship that has a bell."  

أَنَّ سَفِينَةَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَصْحَبُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ رُفْقَةً فِيهَا جَرَسٌ»  

Abu Hurairah reported the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ as saying “The angels do not accompany the fellow travelers who have a dog or bell (with them).” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2555)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَصْحَبُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ رُفْقَةً فِيهَا جَرَسٌ»  

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ used to "wake up in a state of sexual impurity (junub), then he would fast."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ «يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا ثُمَّ يَصُومُ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever loves Ali, has loved me; and whoever loves me, has loved Allah. And whoever dislikes Ali, has disliked me; and whoever dislikes me, has disliked Allah."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ أَحَبَّ عَلِيًّا فَقَدْ أَحَبَّنِي وَمَنْ أَحَبَّنِي فَقَدْ أَحَبَّ اللهُ وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَ عَلِيًّا فَقَدْ أَبْغَضَنِي وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَنِي فَقَدْ أَبْغَضَ اللهَ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ heard a dispute near Umm Salamah's door, so he went out to them and said, "You are disputing with me, and I am only a human being. It is possible that some of you may have a stronger argument than others. So I will rule in favor of the one whose argument I hear and believe to be truthful. Whoever I give anything rightfully belonging to his brother, then it is a piece of Hellfire, so let him take it or leave it."  

سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ جَلَبَ خُصُومَةٍ عِنْدَ بَابِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ تَخْتَصِمُونَ إِلَيَّ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ وَلَعَلَّ بَعْضَكُمْ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَعْلَمَ بِحُجَّتِهِ مِنْ بَعْضٍ فَأَقْضِي لَهُ بِمَا أَسْمَعُ وَأَظُنُّهُ صَادِقًا فَمَنْ قَضَيْتُ لَهُ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ حَقِّ أَخِيهِ فَإِنَّهَا قِطْعَةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ فَلْيَأْخُذْهَا أَوْ لِيَدَعْهَا»  

[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, do you have any interest in my sister, the daughter of Abu Sufyan?" He said, "No, she is not permissible for me." She said, "I have heard that you are proposing to Durrah, the daughter of Abu Salama." He said, "She is the daughter of my foster mother, and even if she was not my foster sister, she would not have been permissible for me. She breastfed me and Thawiba as well. So, do not present to me your sisters or daughters."  

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلْ لَكَ فِي أُخْتِي بِنْتِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ؟ قَالَ «لَا إِنَّهَا لَا تَحِلُّ لِي» قَالَتْ إِنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تَخْطُبُ دُرَّةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ «بِنْتُ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَاللهِ لَوْ لَمْ تَكُنْ رَبِيبَتِي فِي حِجْرِي مَا حَلَّتْ لِي إِنَّهَا بِنْتُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ أَرْضَعَتْنِي وَإِيَّاهَا ثُوَيْبَةُ فَلَا تَعْرِضْنَ عَلَيَّ أَخَوَاتِكُنَّ وَلَا بَنَاتِكُنَّ»  

“You refer your disputes to me and I am only human. Perhaps some of you may be more eloquent in presenting your case than others, so I rule in your favor because of what I hear from you. If I pass a judgement in favor of one of you that detracts from his brother's rights, then he should not take it, because it is a piece of fire that is given to him which he will bring forth on the Day Resurrection.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2317)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّكُمْ تَخْتَصِمُونَ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ وَلَعَلَّ بَعْضَكُمْ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَلْحَنَ بِحُجَّتِهِ مِنْ بَعْضٍ فَإِنَّمَا أَقْضِي بَيْنَكُمْ عَلَى نَحْوِ مَا أَسْمَعُ مِنْكُمْ فَمَنْ قَضَيْتُ لَهُ مِنْ حَقِّ أَخِيهِ شَيْئًا فَلَا يَأْخُذُهُ فَإِنَّمَا أَقْطَعُ لَهُ قِطْعَةً مِنْ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ يَأْتِي بِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»  

Her mother Umm Salamah said: "Umm Sulaim came to the Prophet and asked him about a woman who sees in her dream something like a man sees. He said: 'Yes, if she sees water (discharge), let her take a bath.' I said: 'You have embarrassed the women. Do women experience wet dreams?' The Prophet said: 'May your hands be rubbed with dust, how else does her child resemble her?'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 600)  

جَاءَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَسَأَلَتْهُ عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ تَرَى فِي مَنَامِهَا مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ «إِذَا رَأَتِ الْمَاءَ فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ» فَقُلْتُ لَهَا فَضَحْتِ النِّسَاءَ هَلْ تَحْتَلِمُ الْمَرْأَةُ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «تَرِبَتْ يَمِينُكِ فَبِمَ يُشْبِهُهَا ابْنُهَا إِذًا؟»  

that the Prophet Mohammad entered upon her, and he heard an effeminate man say to 'Abdullah bin Abu Umayyah: “If Allah enables you to conquer Ta'if tommorrow, I will show you a woman who comes in on four (rolls of fat) and goes out on eight.” The Messenger of Allah said: “Throw them out of your houses.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1902)  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَسَمِعَ مُخَنَّثًا وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ إِنْ فَتَحَ اللهُ الطَّائِفَ غَدًا دَلَلْتُكَ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ تُقْبِلُ بِأَرْبَعٍ وَتُدْبِرُ بِثَمَانٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ»  

[Machine] She said, "O Messenger of Allah, my clan, Banu Abi Salama, are in my house and they have nothing except what I have spent on them. Will I be rewarded if I spend on them?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Yes, spend on them and you will be rewarded for what you have spent on them."  

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ بَنِي أَبِي سَلَمَةَ فِي حِجْرِي وَلَيْسَ لَهُمْ شَيْءٌ إِلَّا مَا أَنْفَقْتُ فَلِي أَجْرٌ إِنْ أَنْفَقْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَنْفِقِي عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَكِ أَجْرُ مَا أَنْفَقْتِ عَلَيْهِمْ»  

[Machine] "While I was lying down with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the Khameela, I experienced my menstrual period."  

«بَيْنَا أَنَا مُضْطَجِعَةٌ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْخَمِيلَةِ إِذْ حِضْتُ» قَالَتْ َكَانَتْ هِيَ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْخَمِيلَةِ  

[Machine] She used to take a bath along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from a single vessel for major ritual impurity.  

«أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ هِيَ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ»  

[Machine] "She used to perform ghusl, she and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, from a single container of janabah."  

«أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ هِيَ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ»  

[Machine] So, I met her servant who was helpful, so I sent him to her and asked her. Then he returned to him and informed him that she had told him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of janaabah (impurity) from sexual intercourse without having any wet dream, and then he would observe fasting.  

فَلَقِيتُ غُلَامَهَا نَافِعًا فَأَرْسَلَهُ إِلَيْهَا فَسَأَلَهَا ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَأَنْبَأَهُ أَنَّهَا حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ «يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ جِمَاعٍ مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ ثُمَّ يُصْبِحُ صَائِمًا»  

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what about women?" He said, "They should cover a forearm’s length." I said, "So, their forearms will be exposed?" He said, "A handspan, they shouldn't exceed that."  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَيْفَ بِالنِّسَاءِ؟ قَالَ «يُرْخِينَ شِبْرًا» قُلْتُ إِذًا يَنْكَشِفُ عَنْهُنَّ قَالَ «فَذِرَاعًا لَا يَزِدْنَ عَلَيْهِ»  

[Machine] A woman asked the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am menstruating and I am unclean. Should I leave the prayer?" He said, "No, but count the number of days and nights that you used to menstruate in a month, then cleanse yourself, seek forgiveness, and pray."  

سَأَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ قَالَ «لَا وَلَكِنْ دَعِي قَدْرَ الْأَيَّامِ وَاللَّيَالِيَ الَّتِي كُنْتِ تَحِيضِينَ وَقَدْرَهُنَّ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ ثُمَّ اغْتَسِلِي وَاسْتَثْفِرِي وَصَلِّي»  

[Machine] A woman was menstruating during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and she sought advice from Umm Salamah, the Prophet's wife, regarding this. Umm Salamah advised her to calculate the number of nights and days in which she used to menstruate and then abstain from praying during that duration. Once her menstruation ends, she should take a bath (ghusl), wear a clean cloth (thawb), and then perform the prayer.  

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً كَانَتْ تُهْرَاقُ الدِّمَاءَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَاسْتَفْتَتْ لَهَا أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ «لِتَنْظُرْ عِدَّةَ اللَّيَالِيَ وَالْأَيَّامِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَحِيضُهُنَّ وَقَدْرَهُنَّ فَلْتَتْرُكِ الصَّلَاةَ فَإِذَا حَلَفَتْ ذَلِكَ فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ وَلْتَسْتَثْفِرْ بِثَوْبٍ وَلْتُصَلِّ»  

[Machine] A woman used to have excessive bleeding during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, so Umm Salamah, the Prophet's wife, sought his advice for her. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Let her count the number of days and nights that she used to experience menstruation before becoming affected by this condition, and then leave off the prayer for that period of time. And when she becomes pure from that condition, she should perform ghusl (full ablution) and pray."  

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً كَانَتْ تُهْرَاقُ الدِّمَاءَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَاسْتَفْتَتْ لَهَا أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لِتَنْظُرْ عِدَّةَ الْأَيَّامِ وَاللَّيَالِيَ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَحِيضُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَكُونَ بِهَا الَّذِي كَانَ وَقَدْرَهُنَّ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ فَتَتْرُكُ الصَّلَاةَ لِذَلِكَ فَإِذَا حَلَفَتْ لِذَلِكَ فَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ وَلْتُصَلِّ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to wake up in a state of janaabah without having sexual dreams, then he would perform ablution and continue his fasting.  

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ ثُمَّ يَغْتَسِلُ وَيَمْضِي عَلَى صَوْمَهِ»  

[Machine] I approached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with grilled meat, and he ate from it, then he stood up for prayer without performing ablution.  

«قَرَّبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ جَنْبًا مَشْوِيًّا فَأَكَلَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ , said, "Whoever is afflicted with a dispute among the Muslims, they should be fair among them in the sitting, by signaling and looking, and not raise their voice over one of the disputants more than the other."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنِ ابْتُلِيَ بِالْقَضَاءِ بَيْنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَلْيُسَاوِي بَيْنَهُمْ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ فِي الْإِشَارَةِ وَالنَّظَرِ وَلَا يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ عَلَى أَحَدِ الْخَصْمَيْنِ أَكْثَرَ مِنَ الْآخَرِ»
