[Machine] I said, O Messenger of Allah, tell me about the saying of Allah: "{with] companions with beautiful, large eyes," He said, "They are fair-skinned, wide-eyed maidens, resembling hidden pearls, untouched by men's hands." I said, O Messenger of Allah, tell me about His saying: "{as if they were] pearls well-protected." He said, "Their purity is like the clarity of pearls in unopened shells, which have not been touched by hands." I said, O Messenger of Allah, tell me about His saying: "{in them are good and beautiful [maidens]." He said, "They are the ones with the best manners and prettiest faces." I said, O Messenger of Allah, tell me about His saying: "{though untouched] pearls." He said, "Their softness is like the softness of the skin that you see on the inside of an egg, after removing the shell, which is the customary skin." I said, O Messenger of Allah, tell me about His saying: "{companions] of the right." He said, "They are the elderly women who died in the world, with white hair and loose skin. Allah created them in a youthful, ardent, and passionate state, like the period of mating. They are attached together, desiring one another, on one birth date." I said, O Messenger of Allah, are the women of this world better or the wide-eyed maidens? He said, "Rather, the women of this world are better than the wide-eyed maidens, just as the external garment is better than the lining." I said, O Messenger of Allah, why is that? He said, "Because of their prayers, fasting, and worship, Allah has dressed their faces with light, and their bodies with silk, with bright-colored pearls, green garments, yellow jewelry, and golden combs. They say, 'Behold, we are the eternal ones, so we never die. Behold, we are the blissful ones, so we never suffer. Behold, we are the established ones, so we never move away. Behold, we are the content ones, so we never become unhappy.' Bliss is for the ones we belong to and who belong to us." I said, O Messenger of Allah, when a woman from our world marries two, three, or four husbands, then dies and enters Paradise, who will be her spouse? He said, O Umm Salamah, she will be given a choice and she will choose the best of them in terms of character. She will say, O Lord, this was the best companion with me in character in the world, so marry me to him, O Umm Salamah, for the beauty of character is the best of both worlds, in this world and the Hereafter.  

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قَوْلِ اللهِ {حُورٌ عِينٌ} قَالَ حُورٌ بِيضٌ عِينٌ ضِخَامُ الْعُيُونِ شُقْرُ الْجَرْدَاءِ بِمَنْزِلَةِ جَنَاحِ النُّسُورِ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قَوْلِهِ {كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَكْنُونٌ} قَالَ «صَفَاؤُهُنَّ صَفَاءُ الدُّرِّ فِي الْأَصْدَافِ الَّتِي لَمْ تَمَسَّهُ الْأَيْدِي» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قَوْلِهِ {فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ} قَالَ «خَيْرَاتُ الْأَخْلَاقِ حِسَانُ الْوُجُوهِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قَوْلِهِ {كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَكْنُونٌ} قَالَ «رِقَّتُهُنَّ كَرِقَّةِ الْجِلْدِ الَّذِي رَأَيْتِ فِي دَاخِلِ الْبَيْضَةِ مِمَّا يَلِي الْقِشْرَ وَهُوَ الْعُرْفِيُّ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ قَوْلِهِ {عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا} قَالَ «هُنَّ اللَّوَاتِي قُبِضْنَ فِي دَارِ الدُّنْيَا عَجَائِزَ رَمْضَاءَ شَمْطَاءَ خَلَقَهُنَّ اللهُ بَعْدَ الْكِبَرِ فَجَعَلَهُنَّ عَذَارَى عُرُبًا مُتَعَشَّقَاتٍ مُحَبَّبَاتٍ أَتْرَابًا عَلَى مِيلَادٍ وَاحِدٍ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنِسَاءُ الدُّنْيَا أَفْضَلُ أَمِ الْحُورُ الْعِينُ؟ قَالَ «بَلْ نِسَاءُ الدُّنْيَا أَفْضَلُ مِنَ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ كَفَضْلِ الظِّهَارَةِ عَلَى الْبِطَانَةِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَبِمَا ذَاكَ؟ قَالَ بِصَلَاتِهِنَّ وَصِيَامِهِنَّ وَعِبَادَتِهِنَّ اللهَ أَلْبَسَ اللهُ وُجُوهَهُنَّ النُّورَ وَأَجْسَادَهُنَّ الْحَرِيرَ بِيضَ الْأَلْوَانِ خُضْرَ الثِّيَابِ صَفْرَاءَ الْحُلِيِّ مَجَامِرُهُنَّ الدُّرُّ وَأَمْشَاطُهُنَّ الذَّهَبُ يَقُلْنَ أَلَا نَحْنُ الْخَالِدَاتُ فَلَا نَمُوتُ أَبَدًا أَلَا وَنَحْنُ النَّاعِمَاتُ فَلَا نَبْؤُسُ أَبَدًا أَلَا وَنَحْنُ الْمُقِيمَاتُ فَلَا نَظْعَنُ أَبَدًا أَلَا وَنَحْنُ الرَّاضِيَاتُ فَلَا نَسْخَطُ أَبَدًا طُوبَى لِمَنْ كُنَّا لَهُ وَكَانَ لَنَا قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنَّا تَتَزَوَّجُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ وَالْأَرْبَعَةَ ثُمَّ تَمُوتُ فَتَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ وَيَدْخُلُونَ مَعَهَا مَنْ يَكُونُ زَوْجُهَا؟ قَالَ يَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ إِنَّهَا تُخَيَّرُ فَتَخْتَارُ أَحْسَنَهُمْ خُلُقًا فَتَقُولُ أَيْ رَبِّ إِنَّ هَذَا كَانَ أَحْسَنَهُمْ مَعِي خُلُقًا فِي دَارِ الدُّنْيَا فَزَوِّجْنِيهِ يَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ ذَهَبَ حُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ بِخَيْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ
