Abu Bakr reported that Marwan sent him to Umm Salama to ask whether a person should observe fast who is in a state of junub and the dawn breaks upon him, whereupon she said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ (was at times) junbi on account of intercourse and not due to sexual dream, and the dawn broke upon him, but he neither broke the fast nor recompensed.

أَنَّ مَرْوَانَ أَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ؓ يَسْأَلُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا أَيَصُومُ فَقَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ جِمَاعٍ لاَ مِنْ حُلُمٍ ثُمَّ لاَ يُفْطِرُ وَلاَ يَقْضِي

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ (at times) got up in the morning in a state of junub, not because of sexual dreams (but on account of intercourse at night), and then observed fast.

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ ؓ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا أَيَصُومُ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلاَمٍ ثُمَّ يَصُومُ

“I asked Umm Salamah about a man who gets up in the morning when he is in a state of sexual impurity and wants to fast. She said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to get up in the morning in a state of sexual impurity after having intercourse, not from a wet dream, then he would take a bath and complete his fast.’”

عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُصْبِحُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ يُرِيدُ الصَّوْمَ؟ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنَ الْوِقَاعِ لاَ مِنِ احْتِلاَمٍ ثُمَّ يَغْتَسِلُ وَيُتِمُّ صَوْمَهُ

[AI] The passage translates to: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of janabah (impurity after sexual intercourse) without having a bath, and he would then observe fasting."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِاحْتِلَامٍ ثُمَّ يَصُومُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of sexual impurity, then he would perform ghusl (ritual bath) and complete his fasting.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا ثُمَّ يَغْتَسِلُ وَيُتِمُّ صَوْمَهُ

[AI] She said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of junub and then he would wake up while fasting.

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا ثُمَّ يُصْبِحُ صَائِمًا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to touch his wife during the night and then wake up in a state of sexual impurity without having a wet dream. Then he would perform ablution and observe fasting.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمَسُّ أَهْلَهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَيُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ فَيَغْتَسِلُ وَيَصُومُ

[AI] Abu Huraira left his small children

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ ثُمَّ يَصُومُ يَوْمَهُ قَالَ فَتَرَكَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فُتْيَاهُ

[AI] The translation into English of the passage provided is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of ritual impurity in Ramadan with his family, then he would cleanse himself and observe fasting."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا فِي رَمَضَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ ثُمَّ يَغْتَسِلُ وَيَصُومُ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abd Rabbih ibn Said from Abu Bakr ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn Hisham from A'isha and Umm Salama, the wives of the Prophet ﷺ that the Prophet ﷺ used to get up in the morning junub from intercourse, not a dream, in Ramadan, and then he would fast."

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَىِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُمَا قَالَتَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ جِمَاعٍ غَيْرِ احْتِلاَمٍ فِي رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ يَصُومُ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Sumayy, the mawla of Abu Bakr, from Abu Bakr ibn Abd ar-Rahman that A'isha and Umm Salama, the wives of the Prophet ﷺ said, "The Messengerof Allah ﷺ used to get up in the morning junub from intercourse, not a dream, and would then fast."

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَىِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُمَا قَالَتَا إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَيُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ جِمَاعٍ غَيْرِ احْتِلاَمٍ ثُمَّ يَصُومُ

[AI] Aisha and Umm Salamah, both wives of the Prophet ﷺ , said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would wake up in a state of janabah (ritual impurity) without having had any sexual dream during Ramadan, and then he would observe fasting."

أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ وَأُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَيِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَتَا «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ فِي رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ يَصُومُ»

[AI] The translation of the given Arabic phrase is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would wake up in a state of janabah (major impurity) from a wet dream, then he would observe fasting."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ طَرُوقَةٍ ثُمَّ يَصُومُ»

قالت كان النبي ﷺ يصبح جنبا في رمضان من غير احتلام ثم يغتسل ويصوم

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of janabah without having had a wet dream, so he would perform ghusl (ritual bath) and continue with his fasting.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ فَيَغْتَسِلُ ثُمَّ يَمْضِي عَلَى صَوْمِهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of ritual impurity from intercourse with women, without having taken a bath, and would continue fasting.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنَ النِّسَاءِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حُلْمٍ ثُمَّ يَظَلُّ صَائِمًا»

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of janabah (sexual impurity) due to nocturnal emissions, not as a result of sexual intercourse, and then he would complete his fasting.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنَ الْوِقَاعِ لَا مِنَ الاحْتِلَامِ ثُمَّ يُتِمُّ صَوْمَهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to wake up in a state of janabah and fast that day.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا فَيَصُومُ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ»

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of janaba (impurity after sexual intercourse) without experiencing a wet dream, and then he would observe fasting.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «كَانَ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ ثُمَّ يُصْبِحُ صَائِمًا»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to wake up in the state of janaba (major ritual impurity after sexual intercourse) without having dreamt, and then he would observe fasting. Ayyub, on the other hand, disagreed with him.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «كَانَ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ ثُمَّ يُتِمُّ صَوْمَهُ» خَالَفَهُ أَيُّوبُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of sexual impurity without having a wet dream, but that did not prevent him from fasting.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ ثُمَّ لَا يَمْنَعُهُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ صَوْمٍ»

[AI] "Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , said, 'The Prophet ﷺ used to wake up in a state of sexual impurity without having had a wet dream, and then he would observe fasting.'"

أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَتْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنَ النِّسَاءِ مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ ثُمَّ يُصْبِحُ صَائِمًا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would sometimes wake up in a state of sexual impurity without having had a wet dream, and he would still observe fasting on that day.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ حُلْمٍ ثُمَّ يَصُومُ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ»
