The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he. was expelled from it.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said: "The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he was admitted into Paradise, on it he was brought out from it, and the Hour will not be established except on Friday."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ، فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ، وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا، وَلاَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلاَّ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was expelled (from Paradise), on it his contrition was accepted, on it he died, and on it the Last Hour will take place. On Friday every beast is on the lookout from dawn to sunrise in fear of the Last Hour, but not jinn and men, and it contains a time at which no Muslim prays and asks anything from Allah but He will give it to him. Ka'b said: That is one day every year. So I said: It is on every Friday. Ka'b read the Torah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has spoken the truth. AbuHurayrah said: I met Abdullah ibn Salam and told him of my meeting with Ka'b. Abdullah ibn Salam said: I know what time it is. AbuHurayrah said: I asked him to tell me about it. Abdullah ibn Salam said: It is at the very end of Friday. I asked: How can it be when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said: "No Muslim finds it while he is praying...." and this is the moment when no prayer is offered. Abdullah ibn Salam said: Has the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not said: "If anyone is seated waiting for the prayer, he is engaged in the prayer until he observes it." I said: Yes, it is so.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ مَاتَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلاَّ وَهِيَ مُسِيخَةٌ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مِنْ حِينَ تُصْبِحُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلاَّ الْجِنَّ وَالإِنْسَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لاَ يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ حَاجَةً إِلاَّ أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهَا قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ فَقُلْتُ بَلْ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ قَالَ فَقَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَلاَمٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِمَجْلِسِي مَعَ كَعْبٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَيَّةَ سَاعَةٍ هِيَ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَأَخْبِرْنِي بِهَا فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَقُلْتُ كَيْفَ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي وَتِلْكَ السَّاعَةُ لاَ يُصَلَّى فِيهَا فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ أَلَمْ يَقُلْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ جَلَسَ مَجْلِسًا يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلاَةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلاَةٍ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ هُوَ ذَاكَ

the Prophet said: "The best day that the sun has risen upon is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he entered Paradise, and on it, he was expelled from it. And the Hour will not be established except on Friday."

"Messenger of Allah said: The best day that the sun has risen upon is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he entered Paradise, and on it, he was sent down from it. And in it there is an hour in which the Muslim worshipper would not stand in Salat, asking Allah for anything except that He would give it to him.'" Abu Hurairah said: "I met Abdullah bin Salam, and I mentioned this Hadith to him. He said: 'I am more knowledgeable about that hour.' So I said: 'Inform me about it, and do not keep any of it from me.' He said: 'It is after al-Asr until the sun has set.' I said: 'How can it be after Al-Asr when Messenger of Allah said: ' the Muslim worshipper would not stand in Salat.' And that is a time that prayer is not performed in?" So Abdullah bin Salam said: 'Didn't Messenger of Allah say: "Whoever sat in a gathering awaiting the Salat then he is in Salat"? I said: 'Of course.' He said: 'Then that is it.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ مِنْهَا وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لاَ يُوَافِقُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ يُصَلِّي فَيَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ فِيهَا شَيْئًا إِلاَّ أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَلَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَلاَمٍ فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فَقَالَ أَنَا أَعْلَمُ بِتِلْكَ السَّاعَةِ فَقُلْتُ أَخْبِرْنِي بِهَا وَلاَ تَضْنَنْ بِهَا عَلَىَّ قَالَ هِيَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ إِلَى أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ فَقُلْتُ كَيْفَ تَكُونُ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يُوَافِقُهَا عَبْدٌ مَسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي وَتِلْكَ السَّاعَةُ لاَ يُصَلَّى فِيهَا فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ جَلَسَ مَجْلِسًا يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلاَةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلاَةٍ قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ فَهُوَ ذَاكَ

He heard Abu Hurairah say: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day, Adam, peace be upon him, was created, on this day he was admitted to Paradise, and on this day he was taken out of it.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا

"I went out to At-Tur and met Ka'b. He and I spent a day together, when I narrated things to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he narrated things to me from the Tawrah. I said to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day, Adam was created, on this day he was sent down, on it his repentance was accepted, on this day he died, and on this day the Hour will begin. There is no living creature on Earth that does not listen out from Friday morning until the sun rises, fearing the onset of the Hour, except the son of Adam. On (Friday) there is an hour in which, if a believer prays and asks Allah for something, He will give it to him. Ka'b said: Is that one day in every year? I said: No, it is every Friday.' Then Ka'b read in the Tawrah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth; it is every Friday. Then I went out and met Basrah bin Abi Basrah Al-Ghifari. He said: From where have you come? I said: From At-Tur. He said: If I had met you before you went there, you would not have gone. I said to him: Why? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Do not travel especially to visit any masjid except three: Al Masjid Al-Haram (in Makkah), my masjid (in Al-Madinah) and the Masjid of Bait Al-Maqdis (in Jerusalem). Then I met 'Abdullah bin Salam and said: 'If you had only seen me, I went to At-Tur and met Ka'b, and he and I spent the day together, when I narrated things to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he narrated things to me from the Tawrah. I said to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day, Adam was created, on this day he was sent down, on this day his repentance was accepted, on this day he died, and on this day the Hour will begin. 'Abdullah said: Ka'b spoke the truth; I know when that time is. I said: O my brother, tell me about it. He said: It is the last hour of Friday, before the sun sets. I said: Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: If a believer prays, but that is not a time for prayer. He said: Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever prays and sits waiting for the (next) prayer, is in a state of prayer until the next prayer comes? I said: Of course. He said: That is what it is."

أَتَيْتُ الطُّورَ فَوَجَدْتُ ثَمَّ كَعْبًا فَمَكَثْتُ أَنَا وَهُوَ يَوْمًا أُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَيُحَدِّثُنِي عَنِ التَّوْرَاةِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ قُبِضَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ مَا عَلَى الأَرْضِ مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلاَّ وَهِيَ تُصْبِحُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مُصِيخَةً حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلاَّ ابْنَ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لاَ يُصَادِفُهَا مُؤْمِنٌ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ فِيهَا شَيْئًا إِلاَّ أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ يَوْمٌ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ فَقُلْتُ بَلْ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ ثُمَّ قَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ هُوَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَخَرَجْتُ فَلَقِيتُ بَصْرَةَ بْنَ أَبِي بَصْرَةَ الْغِفَارِيَّ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ جِئْتَ قُلْتُ مِنَ الطُّورِ قَالَ لَوْ لَقِيتُكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَأْتِيَهُ لَمْ تَأْتِهِ قُلْتُ لَهُ وَلِمَ قَالَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ تُعْمَلُ الْمَطِيُّ إِلاَّ إِلَى ثَلاَثَةِ مَسَاجِدَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَمَسْجِدِي وَمَسْجِدِ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ فَلَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَلاَمٍ فَقُلْتُ لَوْ رَأَيْتَنِي خَرَجْتُ إِلَى الطُّورِ فَلَقِيتُ كَعْبًا فَمَكَثْتُ أَنَا وَهُوَ يَوْمًا أُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَيُحَدِّثُنِي عَنِ التَّوْرَاةِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ قُبِضَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ مَا عَلَى الأَرْضِ مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلاَّ وَهِيَ تُصْبِحُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مُصِيخَةً حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلاَّ ابْنَ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لاَ يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُؤْمِنٌ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا إِلاَّ أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ يَوْمٌ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ كَذَبَ كَعْبٌ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ كَعْبٌ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ هُوَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ صَدَقَ كَعْبٌ إِنِّي لأَعْلَمُ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَخِي حَدِّثْنِي بِهَا قَالَ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ فَقُلْتُ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ يُصَادِفُهَا مُؤْمِنٌ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ وَلَيْسَتْ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةَ صَلاَةٌ قَالَ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَلَّى وَجَلَسَ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلاَةَ لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي صَلاَتِهِ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَهُ الصَّلاَةُ الَّتِي تُلاَقِيهَا قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ فَهُوَ كَذَلِكَ

“The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Friday is the chief of days, the greatest day before Allah. It is greater before Allah then the Day of Adha and the Day of Fitr. It has five characteristics: On it Allah created Adam; on it Allah sent down Adam to this earth; on it there is a time during which a person does not ask Allah for anything but He will give it to him, so long as he does not ask for anything that is forbidden; on it the Hour will begin. There is no angel who is close to Allah, no heaven, no earth, no wind, no mountain, and no sea that does not fear Friday.’”

النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ سَيِّدُ الأَيَّامِ وَأَعْظَمُهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَهُوَ أَعْظَمُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ يَوْمِ الأَضْحَى وَيَوْمِ الْفِطْرِ فِيهِ خَمْسُ خِلاَلٍ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ فِيهِ آدَمَ وَأَهْبَطَ اللَّهُ فِيهِ آدَمَ إِلَى الأَرْضِ وَفِيهِ تَوَفَّى اللَّهُ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لاَ يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ فِيهَا الْعَبْدُ شَيْئًا إِلاَّ أَعْطَاهُ مَا لَمْ يَسْأَلْ حَرَامًا وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ مَا مِنْ مَلَكٍ مُقَرَّبٍ وَلاَ سَمَاءٍ وَلاَ أَرْضٍ وَلاَ رِيَاحٍ وَلاَ جِبَالٍ وَلاَ بَحْرٍ إِلاَّ وَهُنَّ يُشْفِقْنَ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ إِلَى الطُّورِ فَلَقِيتُ كَعْبَ الْأَحْبَارِ فَجَلَسْتُ مَعَهُ فَحَدَّثَنِي عَنِ التَّوْرَاةِ وَحَدَّثْتُهُ عَنِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ فِيمَا حَدَّثْتُهُ أَنْ قُلْتُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ مَاتَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا وَهِيَ مُسِيخَةٌ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مِنْ حِينِ تُصْبِحُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ وَفِيهَا سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ اللهَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ مَرَّةً فَقُلْتُ بَلْ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ سَلَامٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِمَجْلِسِي مَعَ كَعْبٍ وَمَا حَدَّثْتُهُ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ كَذَبَ كَعْبٌ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ بَلْ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ صَدَقَ كَعْبٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. It is the day on which Adam was created, entered Paradise, and was expelled from it. It is also the day on which the Hour will be established, and at that time there will be no believer who stands to pray and asks Allah for good except that He will give it to him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ مِنْهَا وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُوَافِقُهَا مُؤْمِنٌ يُصَلِّي وَقَبَضَ أَصَابِعَهُ يُقَلِّلُهَا يَسْأَلُ اللهَ ﷻ خَيْرًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah ﷻ has prescribed for us the day of Jumu'ah (Friday), which the people before us differed in. Allah has guided us to it, so the people are followers for us on this day. Today is for us, tomorrow is for the Jews, and the day after tomorrow is for the Christians. For the Jews, it is the day of Saturday, and for the Christians, it is the day of Sunday."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ كَتَبَ الْجُمُعَةَ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا فَاخْتَلَفَ النَّاسُ فِيهَا وَهَدَانَا اللهُ لَهَا فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهَا تَبَعٌ فَالْيَوْمُ لَنَا وَلِلْيَهُودِ غَدًا وَلِلنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ لِلْيَهُودِ يَوْمُ السَّبْتِ وَلِلنَّصَارَى يَوْمُ الْأَحَدِ

The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he. was expelled from it. (Using translation from Muslim 854a)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خَلَقَ اللهُ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "No day dawns upon this world better than the day of Friday. On this day, Allah guided us and everyone else went astray. For us Muslims, it is a day of gathering and for the Jews it is Saturday, and for the Christians it is Sunday. In it, there is a special hour that no believer encounters while praying and asking Allah ﷻ for something, except that Allah grants it to him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَلَا غَرَبَتْ عَلَى يَوْمٍ خَيْرٍ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ هَدَانَا اللهُ لَهُ وَأَضَلَّ النَّاسَ عَنْهُ فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهِ تَبَعٌ هُوَ لَنَا وَلِلْيَهُودِ يَوْمُ السَّبْتِ وَلِلنَّصَارَى يَوْمُ الْأَحَدِ إِنَّ فِيهِ لَسَاعَةً لَا يُوَافِقُهَا مُؤْمِنٌ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُاللهَ ﷻ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ

He heard Abu Hurairah say: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day, Adam, peace be upon him, was created, on this day he was admitted to Paradise, and on this day he was taken out of it.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1373)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ

“The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Friday is the chief of days, the greatest day before Allah. It is greater before Allah then the Day of Adha and the Day of Fitr. It has five characteristics: On it Allah created Adam; on it Allah sent down Adam to this earth; on it there is a time during which a person does not ask Allah for anything but He will give it to him, so long as he does not ask for anything that is forbidden; on it the Hour will begin. There is no angel who is close to Allah, no heaven, no earth, no wind, no mountain, and no sea that does not fear Friday.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1084)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ سَيِّدُ الْأَيَّامِ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ وَأَعْظَمُهَا عِنْدَهُ وَأَعْظَمُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمِ الْأَضْحَى وَفِيهِ خَمْسُ خِلَالٍ خَلَقَ اللهُ فِيهِ آدَمَ وَأَهْبَطَ اللهُ فِيهِ آدَمَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ وَفِيهِ تَوَفَّى اللهُ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدُ فِيهَا شَيْئًا إِلَّا آتَاهُ اللهُ إِيَّاهُ مَا لَمْ يَسْأَلْ حَرَامًا وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ مَا مِنْ مَلَكٍ مُقَرَّبٍ وَلَا سَمَاءٍ وَلَا أَرْضٍ وَلَا رِيَاحٍ وَلَا جِبَالٍ وَلَا بَحْرٍ إِلَّا هُنَّ يُشْفِقْنَ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ

[AI] A man from the Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Tell us about the virtues of Friday." He said, "Friday has five distinguishing characteristics: on it, Adam was created, on it, Adam descended (to the earth), on it, Allah caused Adam to die, on it, there is a time during which no one asks Allah for anything but He grants it to him, as long as he does not ask for anything sinful or the severing of family ties, and on it, the Hour (i.e., the Day of Judgment) will be established. There is no angel who is close to Allah, no sky, no earth, no mountain, and no stone that does not fear Friday."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَخْبِرْنَا عَنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ مَاذَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ؟ قَالَ فِيهِ خَمْسُ خِلَالٍ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهبط آدَمُ وَفِيهِ توفى اللهُ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يَسْأَلُ اللهَ عَبْدٌ فِيهَا شَيْئًا إِلَّا آتَاهُ اللهُ إِيَّاهُ مَا لَمْ يَسْأَلْ مَأْثَمًا أَوْ قَطِيعَةَ رَحِمٍ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ مَا مِنْ مَلَكٍ مُقَرَّبٍ وَلَا سَمَاءٍ وَلَا أَرْضٍ وَلَا جِبَالٍ وَلَا حَجَرٍ إِلَّا وَهُوَ يُشْفِقُ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ

[AI] "And I narrated to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until we came to the mention of Friday. So, I told him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Verily, there is an hour on Friday, no Muslim asks Allah for any good during it except that He gives it to him.' Ka'ab said: 'May Allah and His Messenger testify to the truth, it is once every year.' I said: 'No.' Ka'ab looked at me at that moment and said: 'May Allah and His Messenger testify to the truth, it is once every month.' I said: 'No.' Then, he looked at me a moment and said: 'May Allah and His Messenger testify to the truth, it is once every Friday.' I said: 'Yes.' Ka'ab said: 'Do you know which hour it is?' I said: 'Which hour is it?' He said: 'It is the time when Allah created Adam and when the Hour will be established. The creations are terrified during it, except for the Jinn and humans, out of fear of the Resurrection.' Then, I hastened to reach Madinah and informed Abdullah bin Salam about Ka'ab's statement. He said: 'Ka'ab has lied.' I said: 'Verily, he returned to my statement.' Abdullah bin Salam said: 'Do you know which hour it is?' I said: 'No.' I kept asking him, 'Inform me, inform me.' He said: 'It is between `Asr and Maghrib.' I said: 'How so, when there is no prayer during that time?' He said: 'Did you not hear the Prophet ﷺ say: 'The servant is in prayer as long as he is waiting for the prayer in his place of prayer?''

وَأُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا عَلَى ذِكْرِ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ سَاعَةً لَا يُوَافِقُهَا مُسْلِمٌ يَسْأَلُ اللهَ فِيهَا خَيْرًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ صَدَقَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ مَرَّةٌ قُلْتُ لَا فَنَظَرَ كَعْبٌ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ صَدَقَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ مَرَّةٌ قُلْتُ لَا فَنَظَرَ سَاعَةً فَقَالَ صَدَقَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ مَرَّةٌ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ أَتَدْرِي أَيُّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ؟ قُلْتُ وَأَيُّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ؟ قَالَ فِيهِ خَلَقَ اللهُ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَالْخَلَائِقُ فِيهِ مُصِيخَةٌ إِلَّا الثَّقَلَيْنِ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ خَشْيَةَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَقَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَأَخْبَرْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ سَلَامٍ بِقَوْلِ كَعْبٍ فَقَالَ كَذَبَ كَعْبٌ قُلْتُ إِنَّهُ قَدْ رَجَعَ إِلَى قَوْلِي فَقَالَ أَتَدْرِي أَيُّ سَاعَةٍ هِيَ؟ قُلْتُ لَا وَتَهَالَكْتُ عَلَيْهِ أَخْبِرْنِي أَخْبِرْنِي فَقَالَ هِيَ فِيمَا بَيْنَ الْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ قُلْتُ كَيْفَ وَلَا صَلَاةَ؟ قَالَ أَمَا سَمِعْتَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَزَالُ الْعَبْدُ فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا كَانَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Yazid ibn Abdullah ibn al-Had from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn al-Harith at-Taymi from Abu Salama ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf that Abu Hurayra said, "I went out to at-Tur (Mount Sinai) and met Kab al Ahbar and sat with him. He related to me things from the Tawrah and I related to him things from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Among the things I related to him was that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The best of days on which the sun rises is the day of jumua. In it Adam was created, and in it he fell from the Garden. In it he was forgiven, and in it he died. In it the Hour occurs, and every moving thing listens from morning till sunset in apprehension of the Hour except jinn and men. In it is a time when Allah gives toa muslim slave standing in prayer whatever he asks for.' Kab said, 'That is one day in every year.' I said, 'No, in every jumua.' Then Kab recited the Tawrah and said, 'The Messenger of Allah has spoken the truth.' "

Abu Hurayra continued, "I met Basra ibn Abi Basra al-Ghiffari and he said, 'Where have you come from?' I said, 'From at-Tur.' He said, 'If I had seen you before you left, you would not have gone. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Only make a special journey to three mosques: the mosque of the Haram (Makka), this mosque (Madina), and the mosque of Ilya or the Bait al-Maqdis (two names of Jerusalem)." ' " (He was not sure which expression was used.)

Abu Hurayra continued, "Then I met Abdullah ibn Salam and I told him that I had sat with Kabal-Ahbar, and I mentioned what I had related to him about the day of jumua, and told him that Kab had said, 'That is one day in every year.' Abdullah ibn Salam said, 'Kab lied,' and I added, 'Kab then recited the Tawrah and said, "No, it is in every jumua.'' ' Abdullah ibn Salam said, 'Kab spoke the truth. 'Then Abdullah ibn Salam said, 'I know what time that is.' "

Abu Hurayra continued, "I said to him, 'Let me know it - don't keep it from me.' Abdullah ibn Salam said, 'It is the last period of time in the dayof jumua.' "

Abu Hurayra continued, "I said, 'How can it be the last period of time in the day of jumua, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "a muslim slave standing in prayer", and that is a time when there is no prayer?' Abdullah ibn Salam replied, 'Didn't the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever sits waiting for the prayer is in prayer until he prays?" "'

Abu Hurayra added, "I said, 'Of course.' He said, 'Then it is that.' "

أَنَّهُ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ إِلَى الطُّورِ فَلَقِيتُ كَعْبَ الأَحْبَارِ فَجَلَسْتُ مَعَهُ فَحَدَّثَنِي عَنِ التَّوْرَاةِ وَحَدَّثْتُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ فِيمَا حَدَّثْتُهُ أَنْ قُلْتُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ مَاتَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلاَّ وَهِيَ مُصِيخَةٌ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مِنْ حِينِ تُصْبِحُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلاَّ الْجِنَّ وَالإِنْسَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لاَ يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا إِلاَّ أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ فَقُلْتُ بَلْ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَلَقِيتُ بَصْرَةَ بْنَ أَبِي بَصْرَةَ الْغِفَارِيَّ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ أَقْبَلْتَ فَقُلْتُ مِنَ الطُّورِ فَقَالَ لَوْ أَدْرَكْتُكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِ مَا خَرَجْتَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ تُعْمَلُ الْمَطِيُّ إِلاَّ إِلَى ثَلاَثَةِ مَسَاجِدَ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَإِلَى مَسْجِدِي هَذَا وَإِلَى مَسْجِدِ إِيلْيَاءَ أَوْ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ يَشُكُّ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَلاَمٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِمَجْلِسِي مَعَ كَعْبِ الأَحْبَارِ وَمَا حَدَّثْتُهُ بِهِ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَقُلْتُ قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ كَذَبَ كَعْبٌ فَقُلْتُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ بَلْ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ صَدَقَ كَعْبٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَيَّةَ سَاعَةٍ هِيَ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَخْبِرْنِي بِهَا وَلاَ تَضِنَّ عَلَىَّ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ وَكَيْفَ تَكُونُ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي وَتِلْكَ السَّاعَةُ سَاعَةٌ لاَ يُصَلَّى فِيهَا فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ أَلَمْ يَقُلْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ جَلَسَ مَجْلِسًا يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلاَةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلاَةٍ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ فَهُوَ ذَلِكَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The master of days is Friday; on it, Adam was created, on it he entered Paradise, and on it he was expelled from it. And there is no Hour except that it will be established on Friday."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «سَيِّدُ الْأَيَّامِ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلَّا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was expelled (from Paradise), on it his contrition was accepted, on it he died, and on it the Last Hour will take place. On Friday every beast is on the lookout from dawn to sunrise in fear of the Last Hour, but not jinn and men, and it contains a time at which no Muslim prays and asks anything from Allah but He will give it to him. Ka'b said: That is one day every year. So I said: It is on every Friday. Ka'b read the Torah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has spoken the truth. AbuHurayrah said: I met Abdullah ibn Salam and told him of my meeting with Ka'b. Abdullah ibn Salam said: I know what time it is. AbuHurayrah said: I asked him to tell me about it. Abdullah ibn Salam said: It is at the very end of Friday. I asked: How can it be when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said: "No Muslim finds it while he is praying...." and this is the moment when no prayer is offered. Abdullah ibn Salam said: Has the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not said: "If anyone is seated waiting for the prayer, he is engaged in the prayer until he observes it." I said: Yes, it is so. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ مَاتَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا وَهِيَ مُصِيخَةٌ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مِنْ حِينِ يُصْبَحُ حَتَّى الشَّمْسَ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ وَفِيهَا سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ» قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ؟ فَقُلْتُ بَلْ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ قَالَ فَقَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَلَّامٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِمَجْلِسِي مَعَ كَعْبٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ «قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَيَّةَ سَاعَةٍ هِيَ؟» قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَأَخْبَرَنِي بِهَا فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ «هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ» فَقُلْتُ كَيْفَ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ؟ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي» وَتِلْكَ السَّاعَةُ لَا يُصَلَّى فِيهَا؟ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ أَلَمْ يَقُلْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ جَلَسَ مَجْلِسًا يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ»

[AI] I went to Mount Taur and there I met Ka'b al-Ahbar, so I told him about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he spoke about the Torah, and they did not differ until I passed through Friday. I said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "In every Friday, there is a moment where a believer prays and asks Allah for something, and Allah grants it to him." Ka'b asked, "Is this every year?" I said, "No, it is not like that." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, so he returned and recited (the Qur'an), and then said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth, in every Friday." Abu Hurairah said, "Then I met Abdullah ibn Salam, so I told him in my gathering with Ka'b, and he mentioned the Hadith in a similar way to that of Malik."

جِئْتُ الطُّورَ فَلَقِيتُ هُنَاكَ كَعْبَ الْأَحْبَارِ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَحَدَّثَ عَنِ التَّوْرَاةِ فَمَا اخْتَلَفَا حَتَّى مَرَرْتُ بِيَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ قُلْتُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فِي كُلِّ يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُوَافِقُهَا مُؤْمِنٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ» قَالَ كَعْبٌ تِلْكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ؟ فَقُلْتُ مَا كَذَلِكَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَرَجَعَ فَتَلَا ثُمَّ قَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَلَامٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِمَجْلِسِي مَعَ كَعْبٍ «فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِنَحْوٍ مِنْ حَدِيثِ مَالِكٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On this day, Adam was created and on this day he was descended to the earth."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ فِيهِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ فِيهِ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ»

[AI] The Qa'nabi narrated to me that Abdul Aziz ibn Muhammad narrated to us from Al-Ala'a from his father from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "The believer is jealous (for his faith) and Allah is more jealous (for his worship)."

حَدَّثَنِي الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُؤْمِنُ يَغَارُ وَاللَّهُ أَشَدُّ غَيْرَةً»

“If the believer knew what is with Allah of punishment, none would hope for Paradise, and if the disbeliever knew what is with Allah of mercy, none would despair of (attaining) Paradise.” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3542)

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الْعُقُوبَةِ مَا طَمِعَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْكَافِرُ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ مَا قَنَطَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ»

[AI] Narrated by Al-Qa'nabi, who said: Abdulaziz bin Muhammad reported to us from Al-Ala'a, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily heat is a breeze from the hellfire, so cool it off with prayer."

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الْحَرَّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ»

[AI] This is a Hadith from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . It says: "The sun does not rise or set on a day better than Friday. Every creature is in a state of panic on the day of Friday except for these two: jinn and humans."

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَطْلُعُ الشَّمْسُ وَلَا تَغْرُبُ عَلَى يَوْمٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا وَهِيَ تَفْزَعُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَّا هَذَيْنِ الثَّقَلَيْنِ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ»

[AI] He said, "I went out to At-Tur and met Ka'b Al-Ahbar, so I sat with him and he told me about the Torah. I also told him about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . In what he narrated, I said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it, Adam was created, on it he entered Paradise, on it he was expelled, on it he died, on it the Trumpet will be blown, and on it all creatures will swoon. Every beast is on the lookout from the time the sun rises until it has risen, fearing the coming of the Hour, except the Jinn and humans. There is an hour on Friday that no Muslim slave stands when praying and asks Allah for anything but He will give it to him.'" Ka'b said, "That happens every year on a day." I said, "No, but every Friday." Ka`b said, "So I read the Torah and he (i.e., the Prophet) said, 'The Messenger of Allah has spoken the truth.'"

أَنَّهُ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ إِلَى الطُّورِ فَلَقِيتُ كَعْبَ الْأَحْبَارِ فَجَلَسْتُ مَعَهُ فَحَدَّثَنِي عَنِ التَّوْرَاةِ وَحَدَّثْتُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ فِيمَا حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنْ قُلْتُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ مَاتَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا وَهِيَ مُصِيخَةٌ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مِنْ حِينِ تُصْبِحُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ» قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ ‍ فَقُلْتُ بَلْ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ قَالَ فَقَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

[AI] Kab (the man) said, "And this happens every year, one day." Abdullah ibn Salam said, "Kab is lying." I said, "Then he (Kab) recited the Torah." Abdullah ibn Salam said, "No, it is every Friday." Abdullah ibn Salam said, "Kab is telling the truth." Then Abdullah ibn Salam asked, "Do you know which hour it is?" He (Kab) said, then Abu Hurairah said, "Inform me of it and do not keep me in suspense." Abdullah ibn Salam said, "It is the last hour on Friday." Abu Hurairah said, "But how can it be the last hour on Friday when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'No Muslim servant will come across it while he is praying?'" And that is an hour in which no prayer is offered." Abdullah ibn Salam said, "Did not the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever sits waiting for the prayer, he is in prayer until he prays it?'" Abu Hurairah said, "Yes, he did." Abdullah ibn Salam said, "That is what it is."

كَعْبٌ وَذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ كَذَبَ كَعْبٌ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ بَلْ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ صَدَقَ كَعْبٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَيَّةَ سَاعَةٍ هِيَ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَأَخْبِرْنِي بِهَا وَلَا تَضِنَّنَ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَكَيْفَ تَكُونُ آخِرَ سَاعَةٍ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي» وَتِلْكَ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَلَّى فِيهَا فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ أَلَمْ يَقُلْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ جَلَسَ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَهَا» قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ بَلَى قَالَ فَهُوَ ذَاكَ

[AI] We were informed by Al-Qa'nabi, who was informed by Abdul-Aziz ibn Muhammad, who heard it from Al-Ala, who heard it from his father, who heard it from Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The disbeliever and his killer will never be united in the Fire."

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَجْتَمِعُ الْكَافِرُ وَقَاتِلُهُ فِي النَّارِ أَبَدًا»

[AI] Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who initiates the argument bears the burden of proof as long as the oppressed person does not transgress."

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُسْتَبَّانِ مَا قَالَا فَعَلَى الْبَادِئِ مِنْهُمَا مَا لَمْ يَعْتَدِ الْمَظْلُومُ»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ سَيِّدُ الْأَيَّامِ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خَمْسُ خِلَالٍ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ تَوَفَّى اللَّهُ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدُ رَبَّهُ شَيْئًا فِيهَا إِلَّا آتَاهُ مَا لَمْ يَسْأَلْ مَأْثَمًا أَوْ قَطِيعَةَ رَحِمٍ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَمَا مِنْ مَلَكٍ مُقَرَّبٍ وَلَا سَمَاءٍ وَلَا أَرْضٍ وَلَا جِبَالٍ وَلَا رِيَاحٍ وَلَا بَحْرٍ إِلَّا وَهُوَ يُشْفِقُ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ أَنْ تَقُومَ فِيهِ السَّاعَةُ قَالَ وَهَذَا الْكَلَامُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَإِسْنَادُهُ صَالِحٌ

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ ما طلعت الشمس ولاَ غربت على يوم خير من يوم الجمعة هدانا الله له وضل الناس عنه فالناس لنا فيه تبع هو لنا ولليهود يوم السبت وللنصارى يوم الأحد وَإن فيه لساعة لا يوافقها مؤمن يسأل الله شيئا إلاَّ أعطاه ابن عَجْلان عَن سَعِيد عَن أَبِيه عَن أبي هُرَيرة

عَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قال خير يوم طلعت فيه الشمس يوم الجمعة وفيه خلق آدم وفيه أسكنه الجنة وفيه خرج منها وفيه تقوم الساعة

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ خير يوم طلعت فيه الشمس يوم الجمعة فيه خلق آدم وفيه تقوم الساعة

“The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Friday is the chief of days, the greatest day before Allah. It is greater before Allah then the Day of Adha and the Day of Fitr. It has five characteristics: On it Allah created Adam; on it Allah sent down Adam to this earth; on it there is a time during which a person does not ask Allah for anything but He will give it to him, so long as he does not ask for anything that is forbidden; on it the Hour will begin. There is no angel who is close to Allah, no heaven, no earth, no wind, no mountain, and no sea that does not fear Friday.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1084)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ سَيِّدُ الْأَيَّامِ وَأَعْظَمُهَا عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنِ يَوْمِ الْأَضْحَى وَيَوْمِ الْفِطْرِ فِيهِ خَمْسُ خِلَالٍ خَلَقَ اللهُ فِيهِ آدَمَ وَأَهْبَطَ اللهُ فِيهِ آدَمَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ وَفِيهِ تَوَفَّى اللهُ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يَسْأَلُ اللهَ الْعَبْدُ فِيهَا شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ مَا لَمْ يَسْأَلْ حَرَامًا وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ مَا مِنْ مَلَكٍ مُقَرَّبٍ وَلَا سَمَاءٍ وَلَا أَرْضٍ وَلَا بَحْرٍ إِلَّا وَهُوَ مُشْفِقٌ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ»

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said about Friday, "There are five characteristics: on this day, Allah created Adam, and on this day, Adam passed away. On this day, there is an hour during which no servant asks Allah for anything except that He gives it to him, as long as he does not ask for a sin or the cutting off of family ties. On this day, the Hour will be established. There is no angel near or sky or wind or mountain that does not fear Friday."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ خَمْسُ خِلَالٍ فِيهِ خَلَقَ اللهُ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ تُوُفِّيَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدُ فِيهَا شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ مَا لَمْ يَسْأَلْ إِثْمًا أَوْ قَطِيعَةَ رَحِمٍ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَمَا مِنْ مَلَكٍ مُقَرَّبٍ وَلَا سَمَاءٍ وَلَا رِيحٍ وَلَا جَبَلٍ إِلَّا مُشْفِقٌ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ

The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he. was expelled from it. (Using translation from Muslim 854a)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا»

"I went out to At-Tur and met Ka'b. He and I spent a day together, when I narrated things to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he narrated things to me from the Tawrah. I said to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day, Adam was created, on this day he was sent down, on it his repentance was accepted, on this day he died, and on this day the Hour will begin. There is no living creature on Earth that does not listen out from Friday morning until the sun rises, fearing the onset of the Hour, except the son of Adam. On (Friday) there is an hour in which, if a believer prays and asks Allah for something, He will give it to him. Ka'b said: Is that one day in every year? I said: No, it is every Friday.' Then Ka'b read in the Tawrah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth; it is every Friday. Then I went out and met Basrah bin Abi Basrah Al-Ghifari. He said: From where have you come? I said: From At-Tur. He said: If I had met you before you went there, you would not have gone. I said to him: Why? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Do not travel especially to visit any masjid except three: Al Masjid Al-Haram (in Makkah), my masjid (in Al-Madinah) and the Masjid of Bait Al-Maqdis (in Jerusalem). Then I met 'Abdullah bin Salam and said: 'If you had only seen me, I went to At-Tur and met Ka'b, and he and I spent the day together, when I narrated things to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he narrated things to me from the Tawrah. I said to him: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day, Adam was created, on this day he was sent down, on this day his repentance was accepted, on this day he died, and on this day the Hour will begin. 'Abdullah said: Ka'b spoke the truth; I know when that time is. I said: O my brother, tell me about it. He said: It is the last hour of Friday, before the sun sets. I said: Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: If a believer prays, but that is not a time for prayer. He said: Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever prays and sits waiting for the (next) prayer, is in a state of prayer until the next prayer comes? I said: Of course. He said: That is what it is." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1430)

أُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَيُحَدِّثُنِي عَنِ التَّوْرَاةِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ قُبِضَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا وَهِيَ تُصْبِحُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مُصِيخَةً حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا ابْنَ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَادِفُهَا مُؤْمِنٌ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ يَسْأَلُ اللهَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ» فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ يَوْمٌ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ؟ قُلْتُ بَلْ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَرَأَ كَعْبٌ قَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هُوَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَخَرَجْتُ فَلَقِيتُ بَصْرَةَ بْنَ أَبِي بَصْرَةَ الْغِفَارِيَّ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ جِئْتَ؟ قُلْتُ مِنَ الطُّورِ قَالَ لَوْ لَقِيتُكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَأْتِيَهُ لَمْ تَأْتِهِ قُلْتُ لَهُ لِمَ؟ قَالَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا تُعْمَلُ الْمَطِيُّ إِلَّا إِلَى ثَلَاثَةِ مَسَاجِدَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَمَسْجِدِي وَمَسْجِدِ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ [294] فَلَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ سَلَامٍ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ لَوْ رَأَيْتَنِي خَرَجْتُ إِلَى الطُّورِ فَلَقِيتُ كَعْبًا فَمَكَثْتُ أَنَا وَهُوَ يَوْمًا أُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَيُحَدِّثُنِي عَنِ التَّوْرَاةِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ قُبِضَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا وَهِيَ تُصْبِحُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مُصِيخَةً حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا ابْنَ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُؤْمِنٌ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ يَسْأَلُ اللهَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ» فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ يَوْمُ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ؟ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ كَذَبَ كَعْبٌ قُلْتُ قَرَأَ كَعْبٌ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ صَدَقَ كَعْبٌ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةَ قُلْتُ يَا أَخِي حَدِّثْنِي بِهَا قَالَ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ مَنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ فَقُلْتُ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يُصَادِفُهَا مُؤْمِنٌ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَلَيْسَتْ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةُ صَلَاةً» قَالَ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ صَلَّى وَجَلَسَ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي صَلَاةٍ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَهُ الصَّلَاةُ الَّتِي تَلِيهَا؟» قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ فَهُوَ كَذَلِكَ

[AI] From the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , I was informed that he said: "The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day, Adam was created, on this day he was descended, on this day repentance was accepted from him, and on this day he died. On this day, the Hour will be established, and there is no creature that does not prostrate on the day of Friday from the time the sun rises until it sets, except for the jinn and mankind. In it, there is an hour when a Muslim slave prays, and asks Allah for good, He will grant it to him." Ka'b said: "That occurs on every year's day." I said: "No, it occurs on every Friday." He recited the passages of the Torah, and said: "The Messenger of Allah spoke the truth." Then he mentioned another narration and said: "Abu Hurairah said: I met Abdullah ibn Salam and I told him what Ka'b had informed me about Friday. He said: Ka’b had lied." I said: "Yes." Ka’b then recited the Torah and said: "Rather, it occurs every Friday." Abdullah ibn Salam said: "Ka'b spoke the truth." Abdullah ibn Salam further said: "I know which hour it is." Abu Hurairah said: "I asked him to inform me about it without making any mistake." Abdullah ibn Salam said: "It is the last hour of Friday." Abu Hurairah said: "How can it be the last hour of Friday when the Messenger of Allah said: 'No Muslim slave who sits in a gathering where he waits for the prayer will perform ablution for it until he prays.'" Abu Hurairah said: "I said: Yes, he said that, but this is the narration of Ibn Bukair, and it is like this."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ فِيمَا حَدَّثْتُهُ أَنْ قُلْتُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ مَاتَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا وَهِيَ مُسِيخَةٌ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مِنْ حِينِ يُصْبِحُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ اللهُ فِيهَا خَيْرًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ اللهُ إِيَّاهُ فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ فَقُلْتُ بَلْ هُوَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ قَالَ فَقَرَأَ كَعْبُ الْأَحْبَارِ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا آخَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ سَلَامٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِمَجْلِسِي مَعَ كَعْبِ الْأَحْبَارِ وَمَا حَدَّثْتُهُ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ كَذَبَ كَعْبٌ فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ بَلْ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةِ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ صَدَقَ كَعْبٌ وَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَيَّةَ سَاعَةٍ هِيَ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَأَخْبِرْنِي بِهَا وَلَا تَضِنَّنَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَكَيْفَ تَكُونُ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي وَتِلْكَ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَلَّى فِيهَا فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ أَلَمْ يَقُلْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ جَلَسَ مَجْلِسًا يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ هُوَ ذَلِكَ لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ بُكَيْرٍ وَكَذَلِكَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. Adam was created on this day, and on this day he was admitted to Paradise, and on this day he was expelled from it. The Hour will not be established except on Friday."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلَّا فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ

"إِنَّ يومَ الجمعةِ سيِّدُ الأَيَّامِ، وأعْظَمُها عِنْدَ اللَّه، وهو أعْظَمُ عند اللَّه من يومِ الأضْحَى، ويوم الفِطْرِ، فيه خمسُ خلالٍ، خَلَقَ اللَّه فيه آدم، وأهْبَطَ اللَّه فيه آدم إِلى الأرضِ، وفيه تَوَفَّى اللَّه آدمَ وفيه ساعةٌ لا يسألُ اللَّه فيها الْعَبْدُ شيئًا إِلا أَعطاهُ إِيَّاهُ، ما لم يسألَ حَرامًا، وفيه تقومُ السَّاعَةُ، وما من مَلَك مُقَرَّب ولا سَماءٍ، ولا أَرضٍ، ولا رياحٍ ولا جبالٍ، ولا بَحْرٍ، إِلا وَهُنَّ يُشْفِقْنَ مِن يومِ الجمعة أَن تقومَ فيه الساعة ".

"خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الجُمُعَة، فيه خُلقَ آدَمُ، وَفِيهِ أُدْخلَ الجَنَّة، وَفِيهِ أُخْرجَ مِنْهَا، وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلَّا في يَومِ الجُمُعَةِ".

"سيِّدُ الأَيَّام عِنْد اللهِ يوْمُ الْجُمُعةِ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ يوْم النَّحرِ والْفِطْرِ، وفِيهِ خَمْسُ خِلال: فيهِ خَلَقَ اللهُ آدم، وفِيهِ أُهْبِط مِنَ الْجنَّةِ إِلَى الأَرْضِ، وفِيهِ تُوُفِّىَ، وفيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يسْأَلُ الْعبْدُ فِيهَا اللهَ شَيْئًا إِلَا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ، ما لَمْ يسْأَلْ إِثْمًا أَوْ قَطِيعَة رحِم، وفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعةُ، وما مِنْ ملَكِ مُقَرَّبٍ ولَا سماءٍ ولَا أَرْض، ولَا رِيح، ولَا جبل، ولَا حجر، إِلَّا وهُو مُشْفِقٌ مِنْ يوْم الْجُمُعةِ".

"سيِّدُ الأَيَّامِ عِنْدِ اللهِ يوْمُ الْجُمُعةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدمُ أَبُوكُمْ، وفيهِ دخَلَ الْجنَّةَ، وفِيهِ خَرَجَ، وفِيهِ تَقُومُ الساعةُ".

"سيِّدُ الأَيَّام يوْمُ الْجُمُعة".

"سيِّدُ الأَيَّامِ يوْمُ الْجُمُعةِ، وأَعْظَمُهَا عِنْد اللهِ، وأَعْظَمُ عندهُ مِنْ يوْم الْفِطْرِ، ويوْم الأَضْحى، وفِيهِ خَمْسُ خِلَالٍ: خَلَقَ اللهُ تَعالَى فيَه آدم، وأَهْبطَ اللهُ فيهِ آدم إِلَى الأَرْضِ، وِفِيهِ تُوُفِّى آدم، وفِيه ساعةٌ لَاَ يسْأَلُ الْعبْدُ فِيهَا شَيْئًا إِلَّا آتَاهُ اللهُ إِيَّاهُ، مَا لَمْ يسْأَلْ حرامًا، وفيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعةُ، مَا مِن مَلَكٍ مُقَرَّبٍ، ولَا سماءٍ، ولَا أَرْضٍ، وَلَا رِياح، ولَا جِبالٍ، ولَا بحْرٍ، إِلَّا وهُنَّ يشْفِقنَ مِنْ يوْمِ الجمعة".

"سيِّدُ الأَيَّام يوْمُ الْجُمُعة، فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدمُ، وفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجنَّة، وفِيهِ أُخْرج منْهَا، ولَا تَقُومُ السَّاعةُ إِلَّا يوْمَ الْجُمُعةِ".

"لَا تَطلُعُ الشَّمْسُ وَلَا تَغْرُبُ عَلَى يَوْمٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا وَهِيَ تَفْزعُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَّا هَذَينِ الثَّقَلَينِ. الْجنَّ والإِنْسَ".

"يَوْمُ الجُمُعَةِ فيهِ خَمْسُ خِصَالٍ: فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ، وفيه أُهْبطَ إِلَى الأَرْضِ، وَفِيهِ تَوفَى اللَّهُ آدَمَ، وفِيهِ سَاعةٌ لَا يَسْألُ اللَّه العَبدُ فِيهَا إِلا آتَاه مَا لَمْ يَسْألْ مَأثَمًا أَوْ قَطِيعَةَ رَحِم، وفيهِ تقُومُ الْسَّاعَةُ، وَمَا مِنْ مَلَكٍ مُقَرَّبٍ ولا سَمَاءٍ وَلَا أَرْضٍ ولا ريحٍ وَلَا جَبَلٍ وَلَا بَحْرٍ إِلَّا وَهُمْ مُشْفِقونَ منْ يَوْم الْجُمُعةِ أَنْ تَقُومَ فيه السَّاعَةُ".
