The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he. was expelled from it.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said: "The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he was admitted into Paradise, on it he was brought out from it, and the Hour will not be established except on Friday."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ، فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ، وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا، وَلاَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلاَّ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'When it is very hot, then wait for it to cool down before you pray, for intense heat is from the flaring up of the Hell-fire.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 677)

وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَبْرِدُوا عَنِ الْحَرِّ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "If the believer knew what punishment Allah has in store for him, he would not desire Paradise, and if the disbeliever knew what mercy Allah has in store for him, he would not despair of Paradise. Allah has created one hundred units of mercy, and He placed one unit among His creation, and it is by this unit that they show compassion amongst themselves. And it is with Allah that the remaining ninety-nine units of mercy exist."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مَا عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنَ الْعُقُوبَةِ مَا طَمِعَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْكَافِرُ مَا عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ مَا قَنَطَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ خَلَقَ اللهُ مِائَةَ رَحْمَةٍ فَوَضَعَ رَحْمَةً وَاحِدَةً بَيْنَ خَلْقِهِ يَتَرَاحَمُونَ بِهَا وَعِنْدَ اللهِ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ رَحْمَةً

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The disbeliever and his killer from among the Muslims will never be united in Hell."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَجْتَمِعُ الْكَافِرُ وَقَاتِلُهُ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي النَّارِ أَبَدًا

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Wait for it to cool down before you pray, for intense heat is from the flaring up of the Hell-fire.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 679)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَبْرِدُوا بِالظُّهْرِ فَإِنَّحَرَّهَا مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ

A disbeliever and a believer who killed him will never be gathered together in Hell. (Using translation from Muslim 1891a)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَجْتَمِعُ الْكَافِرُ وَقَاتِلُهُ فِي النَّارِ أَبَدًا

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Delay the (Zuhr) Prayer till it gets cooler, for the severity of heat is from the increase in the heat of Hell (fire). (Using translation from Bukhārī 3259)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ

A disbeliever and a believer who killed him will never be gathered together in Hell. (Using translation from Muslim 1891a)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَجْتَمِعُ كَافِرٌ وَقَاتِلُهُ فِي النَّارِ أَبَدًا

If a believer were to know the punishment (in Hell) none would have the audacity to aspire for Paradise (but he would earnestly desire to be rescued from Hell), and if a non-believer were to know what is there with Allah as a mercy. none would have been disappointed in regard to Paradise. أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مَا عِنْدَ اللهِ ﷻ مِنَ الْعُقُوبَةِ مَا طَمِعَ بِجَنَّتِهِ أَحَدٌ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْكَافِرُ مَا عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ مَا قَنَطَ مِنْ رَحْمَتِهِ أَحَدٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Find tranquility in prayer, for indeed, its coolness repels the heat of Hellfire."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ فَيْحَهَا مِنْ حَرِّ جَهَنَّمَ

He heard Abu Hurairah say: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day, Adam, peace be upon him, was created, on this day he was admitted to Paradise, and on this day he was taken out of it.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1373)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا

This heat is from the exhalation of Hell-fire, so delay the prayer till it is cool. (Using translation from Muslim 615d)

عَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا الْحَرَّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ

Abu Hurairah reported the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ as saying “An infidel and the one who killed him will never be brought together in Hell.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2495)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَجْتَمِعُ كَافِرٌ وَقَاتِلُهُ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي النَّارِ أَبَدًا

The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created. on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. And the last hour will take place on no day other than Friday. (Using translation from Muslim 854b)

وَقَالَ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلَّا فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ

[AI] About the Prophet, ﷺ , the believer is jealous and, by Allah, he is more jealous.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْمُؤْمِنُ يَغَارُ وَاللهُ أَشَدُّ غَيْرًا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If it is very hot, wait until it cools down before you pray, for intense heat is a breeze from Hell.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 500)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ فَأَبْرِدُواعَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "If the believer knew what punishment Allah has in store, they would not desire Paradise. And if the disbeliever knew what mercy Allah has, they would not despair of entering Paradise. Allah has created one hundred portions of mercy, and He has placed one portion among His creation that they show mercy to one another. And with Allah are ninety-nine portions of mercy."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مَا عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنَ الْعُقُوبَةِ مَا طَمِعَ بِالْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْكَافِرُ مَا عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ مَا قَنَطَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ خَلَقَ اللهُ مِائَةَ رَحْمَةٍ فَوَضَعَ وَاحِدَةً بَيْنَ خَلْقِهِ يَتَرَاحَمُونَ بِهَا وَعِنْدَ اللهِ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ رَحْمَةً

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was expelled (from Paradise), on it his contrition was accepted, on it he died, and on it the Last Hour will take place. On Friday every beast is on the lookout from dawn to sunrise in fear of the Last Hour, but not jinn and men, and it contains a time at which no Muslim prays and asks anything from Allah but He will give it to him. Ka'b said: That is one day every year. So I said: It is on every Friday. Ka'b read the Torah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has spoken the truth. AbuHurayrah said: I met Abdullah ibn Salam and told him of my meeting with Ka'b. Abdullah ibn Salam said: I know what time it is. AbuHurayrah said: I asked him to tell me about it. Abdullah ibn Salam said: It is at the very end of Friday. I asked: How can it be when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said: "No Muslim finds it while he is praying...." and this is the moment when no prayer is offered. Abdullah ibn Salam said: Has the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not said: "If anyone is seated waiting for the prayer, he is engaged in the prayer until he observes it." I said: Yes, it is so. أَنَّهُ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ إِلَى الطُّورِ فَلَقِيتُ كَعْبَ الْأَحْبَارِ فَجَلَسْتُ مَعَهُ فَحَدَّثَنِي عَنِ التَّوْرَاةِ وَحَدَّثْتُهُ عَنِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ فِيمَا حَدَّثْتُهُ أَنْ قُلْتُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ مَاتَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا وَهِيَ مُسِيخَةٌ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مِنْ حِينِ تُصْبِحُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ وَفِيهَا سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ اللهَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ مَرَّةً فَقُلْتُ بَلْ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ سَلَامٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِمَجْلِسِي مَعَ كَعْبٍ وَمَا حَدَّثْتُهُ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ كَذَبَ كَعْبٌ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ بَلْ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ صَدَقَ كَعْبٌ

when two men abuse one another, what they say is laid to the charge of the one who began it, so long as the one who is wronged does not go over the score. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4894)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمُسْتَبَّانِ مَا قَالَا فَعَلَى الْبَادِئِ مَا لَمْ يَعْتَدِ الْمَظْلُومُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'When it is very hot, then wait for it to cool down before you pray, for intense heat is from the flaring up of the Hell-fire.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 677)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَبْرِدُوا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah ﷻ has prescribed for us the day of Jumu'ah (Friday), which the people before us differed in. Allah has guided us to it, so the people are followers for us on this day. Today is for us, tomorrow is for the Jews, and the day after tomorrow is for the Christians. For the Jews, it is the day of Saturday, and for the Christians, it is the day of Sunday."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ كَتَبَ الْجُمُعَةَ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا فَاخْتَلَفَ النَّاسُ فِيهَا وَهَدَانَا اللهُ لَهَا فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهَا تَبَعٌ فَالْيَوْمُ لَنَا وَلِلْيَهُودِ غَدًا وَلِلنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ لِلْيَهُودِ يَوْمُ السَّبْتِ وَلِلنَّصَارَى يَوْمُ الْأَحَدِ

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "The one who engages in conflict is not to be blamed until the oppressed person initiates aggression."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ الْمُسْتَبَّانِ مَا قَالَا عَلَى الْبَادِئِ حَتَّى يَعْتَدِيَ الْمَظْلُومُ

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "No day dawns upon this world better than the day of Friday. On this day, Allah guided us and everyone else went astray. For us Muslims, it is a day of gathering and for the Jews it is Saturday, and for the Christians it is Sunday. In it, there is a special hour that no believer encounters while praying and asking Allah ﷻ for something, except that Allah grants it to him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَلَا غَرَبَتْ عَلَى يَوْمٍ خَيْرٍ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ هَدَانَا اللهُ لَهُ وَأَضَلَّ النَّاسَ عَنْهُ فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهِ تَبَعٌ هُوَ لَنَا وَلِلْيَهُودِ يَوْمُ السَّبْتِ وَلِلنَّصَارَى يَوْمُ الْأَحَدِ إِنَّ فِيهِ لَسَاعَةً لَا يُوَافِقُهَا مُؤْمِنٌ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُاللهَ ﷻ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Wait for it to cool down before you pray, for intense heat is from the flaring up of the Hell-fire.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 679)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَبْرِدُوا بِالظُّهْرِ فِي الْحَرِّ فَإِنَّ حَرَّهَا مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "In very hot weather delay the Zuhr prayer till it becomes (a bit) cooler because the severity of heat is from the raging of the Hell-fire. The Hell-fire of Hell complained to its Lord saying: O Lord! My parts are eating (destroying) one another. So Allah allowed it to take two breaths, one in the winter and the other in the summer. The breath in the summer is at the time when you feel the severest heat and the breath in the winter is at the time when you feel the severest cold." (Using translation from Bukhārī 536)

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "The intensity of heat is from the breath of Hell, so cool yourself down with prayer."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ شِدَّةُ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "In very hot weather delay the Zuhr prayer till it becomes (a bit) cooler because the severity of heat is from the raging of the Hell-fire. The Hell-fire of Hell complained to its Lord saying: O Lord! My parts are eating (destroying) one another. So Allah allowed it to take two breaths, one in the winter and the other in the summer. عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ

“The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Friday is the chief of days, the greatest day before Allah. It is greater before Allah then the Day of Adha and the Day of Fitr. It has five characteristics: On it Allah created Adam; on it Allah sent down Adam to this earth; on it there is a time during which a person does not ask Allah for anything but He will give it to him, so long as he does not ask for anything that is forbidden; on it the Hour will begin. There is no angel who is close to Allah, no heaven, no earth, no wind, no mountain, and no sea that does not fear Friday.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1084)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ سَيِّدُ الْأَيَّامِ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ وَأَعْظَمُهَا عِنْدَهُ وَأَعْظَمُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمِ الْأَضْحَى وَفِيهِ خَمْسُ خِلَالٍ خَلَقَ اللهُ فِيهِ آدَمَ وَأَهْبَطَ اللهُ فِيهِ آدَمَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ وَفِيهِ تَوَفَّى اللهُ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدُ فِيهَا شَيْئًا إِلَّا آتَاهُ اللهُ إِيَّاهُ مَا لَمْ يَسْأَلْ حَرَامًا وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ مَا مِنْ مَلَكٍ مُقَرَّبٍ وَلَا سَمَاءٍ وَلَا أَرْضٍ وَلَا رِيَاحٍ وَلَا جِبَالٍ وَلَا بَحْرٍ إِلَّا هُنَّ يُشْفِقْنَ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ

[AI] A man from the Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Tell us about the virtues of Friday." He said, "Friday has five distinguishing characteristics: on it, Adam was created, on it, Adam descended (to the earth), on it, Allah caused Adam to die, on it, there is a time during which no one asks Allah for anything but He grants it to him, as long as he does not ask for anything sinful or the severing of family ties, and on it, the Hour (i.e., the Day of Judgment) will be established. There is no angel who is close to Allah, no sky, no earth, no mountain, and no stone that does not fear Friday."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَخْبِرْنَا عَنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ مَاذَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ؟ قَالَ فِيهِ خَمْسُ خِلَالٍ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهبط آدَمُ وَفِيهِ توفى اللهُ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يَسْأَلُ اللهَ عَبْدٌ فِيهَا شَيْئًا إِلَّا آتَاهُ اللهُ إِيَّاهُ مَا لَمْ يَسْأَلْ مَأْثَمًا أَوْ قَطِيعَةَ رَحِمٍ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ مَا مِنْ مَلَكٍ مُقَرَّبٍ وَلَا سَمَاءٍ وَلَا أَرْضٍ وَلَا جِبَالٍ وَلَا حَجَرٍ إِلَّا وَهُوَ يُشْفِقُ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ

[AI] "And I narrated to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until we came to the mention of Friday. So, I told him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Verily, there is an hour on Friday, no Muslim asks Allah for any good during it except that He gives it to him.' Ka'ab said: 'May Allah and His Messenger testify to the truth, it is once every year.' I said: 'No.' Ka'ab looked at me at that moment and said: 'May Allah and His Messenger testify to the truth, it is once every month.' I said: 'No.' Then, he looked at me a moment and said: 'May Allah and His Messenger testify to the truth, it is once every Friday.' I said: 'Yes.' Ka'ab said: 'Do you know which hour it is?' I said: 'Which hour is it?' He said: 'It is the time when Allah created Adam and when the Hour will be established. The creations are terrified during it, except for the Jinn and humans, out of fear of the Resurrection.' Then, I hastened to reach Madinah and informed Abdullah bin Salam about Ka'ab's statement. He said: 'Ka'ab has lied.' I said: 'Verily, he returned to my statement.' Abdullah bin Salam said: 'Do you know which hour it is?' I said: 'No.' I kept asking him, 'Inform me, inform me.' He said: 'It is between `Asr and Maghrib.' I said: 'How so, when there is no prayer during that time?' He said: 'Did you not hear the Prophet ﷺ say: 'The servant is in prayer as long as he is waiting for the prayer in his place of prayer?''

وَأُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا عَلَى ذِكْرِ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ سَاعَةً لَا يُوَافِقُهَا مُسْلِمٌ يَسْأَلُ اللهَ فِيهَا خَيْرًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ صَدَقَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ مَرَّةٌ قُلْتُ لَا فَنَظَرَ كَعْبٌ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ صَدَقَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ مَرَّةٌ قُلْتُ لَا فَنَظَرَ سَاعَةً فَقَالَ صَدَقَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ مَرَّةٌ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ أَتَدْرِي أَيُّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ؟ قُلْتُ وَأَيُّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ؟ قَالَ فِيهِ خَلَقَ اللهُ آدَمَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَالْخَلَائِقُ فِيهِ مُصِيخَةٌ إِلَّا الثَّقَلَيْنِ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ خَشْيَةَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَقَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَأَخْبَرْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ سَلَامٍ بِقَوْلِ كَعْبٍ فَقَالَ كَذَبَ كَعْبٌ قُلْتُ إِنَّهُ قَدْ رَجَعَ إِلَى قَوْلِي فَقَالَ أَتَدْرِي أَيُّ سَاعَةٍ هِيَ؟ قُلْتُ لَا وَتَهَالَكْتُ عَلَيْهِ أَخْبِرْنِي أَخْبِرْنِي فَقَالَ هِيَ فِيمَا بَيْنَ الْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ قُلْتُ كَيْفَ وَلَا صَلَاةَ؟ قَالَ أَمَا سَمِعْتَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَزَالُ الْعَبْدُ فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا كَانَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The master of days is Friday; on it, Adam was created, on it he entered Paradise, and on it he was expelled from it. And there is no Hour except that it will be established on Friday."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «سَيِّدُ الْأَيَّامِ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلَّا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was expelled (from Paradise), on it his contrition was accepted, on it he died, and on it the Last Hour will take place. On Friday every beast is on the lookout from dawn to sunrise in fear of the Last Hour, but not jinn and men, and it contains a time at which no Muslim prays and asks anything from Allah but He will give it to him. Ka'b said: That is one day every year. So I said: It is on every Friday. Ka'b read the Torah and said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has spoken the truth. AbuHurayrah said: I met Abdullah ibn Salam and told him of my meeting with Ka'b. Abdullah ibn Salam said: I know what time it is. AbuHurayrah said: I asked him to tell me about it. Abdullah ibn Salam said: It is at the very end of Friday. I asked: How can it be when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said: "No Muslim finds it while he is praying...." and this is the moment when no prayer is offered. Abdullah ibn Salam said: Has the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not said: "If anyone is seated waiting for the prayer, he is engaged in the prayer until he observes it." I said: Yes, it is so. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ مَاتَ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا وَهِيَ مُصِيخَةٌ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مِنْ حِينِ يُصْبَحُ حَتَّى الشَّمْسَ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ وَفِيهَا سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ» قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ؟ فَقُلْتُ بَلْ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ قَالَ فَقَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَلَّامٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِمَجْلِسِي مَعَ كَعْبٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ «قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَيَّةَ سَاعَةٍ هِيَ؟» قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَأَخْبَرَنِي بِهَا فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ «هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ» فَقُلْتُ كَيْفَ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ؟ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي» وَتِلْكَ السَّاعَةُ لَا يُصَلَّى فِيهَا؟ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ أَلَمْ يَقُلْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ جَلَسَ مَجْلِسًا يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ»

[AI] I went to Mount Taur and there I met Ka'b al-Ahbar, so I told him about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he spoke about the Torah, and they did not differ until I passed through Friday. I said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "In every Friday, there is a moment where a believer prays and asks Allah for something, and Allah grants it to him." Ka'b asked, "Is this every year?" I said, "No, it is not like that." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, so he returned and recited (the Qur'an), and then said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth, in every Friday." Abu Hurairah said, "Then I met Abdullah ibn Salam, so I told him in my gathering with Ka'b, and he mentioned the Hadith in a similar way to that of Malik."

جِئْتُ الطُّورَ فَلَقِيتُ هُنَاكَ كَعْبَ الْأَحْبَارِ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَحَدَّثَ عَنِ التَّوْرَاةِ فَمَا اخْتَلَفَا حَتَّى مَرَرْتُ بِيَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ قُلْتُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فِي كُلِّ يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُوَافِقُهَا مُؤْمِنٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ» قَالَ كَعْبٌ تِلْكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ؟ فَقُلْتُ مَا كَذَلِكَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَرَجَعَ فَتَلَا ثُمَّ قَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَلَامٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِمَجْلِسِي مَعَ كَعْبٍ «فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِنَحْوٍ مِنْ حَدِيثِ مَالِكٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On this day, Adam was created and on this day he was descended to the earth."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ فِيهِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ فِيهِ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ»

[AI] The Qa'nabi narrated to me that Abdul Aziz ibn Muhammad narrated to us from Al-Ala'a from his father from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "The believer is jealous (for his faith) and Allah is more jealous (for his worship)."

حَدَّثَنِي الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُؤْمِنُ يَغَارُ وَاللَّهُ أَشَدُّ غَيْرَةً»

“If the believer knew what is with Allah of punishment, none would hope for Paradise, and if the disbeliever knew what is with Allah of mercy, none would despair of (attaining) Paradise.” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3542)

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الْعُقُوبَةِ مَا طَمِعَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْكَافِرُ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ مَا قَنَطَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ»

[AI] Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger ﷺ said, "Shall I not inform you about the best of you in terms of faith? It is the one from whom goodness is expected and harm is feared. And shall I not inform you about the worst of you in terms of faith? It is the one from whom goodness is not expected and harm is not feared."

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِكُمْ مِنْ شَرِّكُمْ؟ » فقَالَ رَجُلٌ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ يُرْجَى خَيْرُهُ وَيُؤْمَنُ شَرُّهُ وَشَرُّكُمْ مَنْ لَا يُرْجَى خَيْرُهُ وَلَا يُؤْمَنُ شَرُّهُ»

If a believer were to know the punishment (in Hell) none would have the audacity to aspire for Paradise (but he would earnestly desire to be rescued from Hell), and if a non-believer were to know what is there with Allah as a mercy. none would have been disappointed in regard to Paradise. أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الْعُقُوبَةِ مَا طَمِعَ بِجَنَّتِهِ أَحَدٌ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْكَافِرُ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ مَا قَنَطَ مِنْ جَنَّتِهِ أَحَدٌ»

[AI] Narrated by Al-Qa'nabi, who said that Abdul Aziz ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from Al-Ala' who narrated from his father, from Abu Hurairah, who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The world is the prison of the believer and the paradise of the disbeliever."

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الدُّنْيَا سِجْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ وَجَنَّةُ الْكَافِرِ»

[AI] Narrated by Al-Qa'nabi, who said: Abdulaziz bin Muhammad reported to us from Al-Ala'a, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily heat is a breeze from the hellfire, so cool it off with prayer."

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الْحَرَّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ»

[AI] The translation is as follows: "Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger ﷺ said, 'The best rows for men to offer the Salah (prayer) are the first rows, and the worst ones are the last ones. The best rows for women to offer the Salah are the last ones, and the worst ones are the first ones.'"

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَحْسِنُوا إِقَامَةَ الصُّفُوفِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَخَيْرُ صُفُوفِ الْقَوْمِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ أَوَّلُهَا وَشَرُّهَا آخِرُهَا وَخَيْرُ صُفُوفِ النِّسَاءِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ آخِرُهَا وَشَرُّهَا أَوَّلُهَا»

[AI] He said, "I went out to At-Tur and met Ka'b Al-Ahbar, so I sat with him and he told me about the Torah. I also told him about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . In what he narrated, I said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it, Adam was created, on it he entered Paradise, on it he was expelled, on it he died, on it the Trumpet will be blown, and on it all creatures will swoon. Every beast is on the lookout from the time the sun rises until it has risen, fearing the coming of the Hour, except the Jinn and humans. There is an hour on Friday that no Muslim slave stands when praying and asks Allah for anything but He will give it to him.'" Ka'b said, "That happens every year on a day." I said, "No, but every Friday." Ka`b said, "So I read the Torah and he (i.e., the Prophet) said, 'The Messenger of Allah has spoken the truth.'"

أَنَّهُ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ إِلَى الطُّورِ فَلَقِيتُ كَعْبَ الْأَحْبَارِ فَجَلَسْتُ مَعَهُ فَحَدَّثَنِي عَنِ التَّوْرَاةِ وَحَدَّثْتُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ فِيمَا حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنْ قُلْتُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ مَاتَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا وَهِيَ مُصِيخَةٌ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مِنْ حِينِ تُصْبِحُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ» قَالَ كَعْبٌ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ ‍ فَقُلْتُ بَلْ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ قَالَ فَقَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

[AI] Kab (the man) said, "And this happens every year, one day." Abdullah ibn Salam said, "Kab is lying." I said, "Then he (Kab) recited the Torah." Abdullah ibn Salam said, "No, it is every Friday." Abdullah ibn Salam said, "Kab is telling the truth." Then Abdullah ibn Salam asked, "Do you know which hour it is?" He (Kab) said, then Abu Hurairah said, "Inform me of it and do not keep me in suspense." Abdullah ibn Salam said, "It is the last hour on Friday." Abu Hurairah said, "But how can it be the last hour on Friday when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'No Muslim servant will come across it while he is praying?'" And that is an hour in which no prayer is offered." Abdullah ibn Salam said, "Did not the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever sits waiting for the prayer, he is in prayer until he prays it?'" Abu Hurairah said, "Yes, he did." Abdullah ibn Salam said, "That is what it is."

كَعْبٌ وَذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ كَذَبَ كَعْبٌ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ التَّوْرَاةَ فَقَالَ بَلْ هِيَ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ صَدَقَ كَعْبٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَيَّةَ سَاعَةٍ هِيَ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَأَخْبِرْنِي بِهَا وَلَا تَضِنَّنَ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَكَيْفَ تَكُونُ آخِرَ سَاعَةٍ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي» وَتِلْكَ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَلَّى فِيهَا فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ أَلَمْ يَقُلْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ جَلَسَ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَهَا» قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ بَلَى قَالَ فَهُوَ ذَاكَ

[AI] Narrated Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The eyes commit adultery, the tongue commits adultery, the hands commit adultery, the feet commit adultery, and then the private parts confirm that or deny it." (Sahih Muslim)

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْعَيْنَانِ تَزْنِيَانِ وَاللِّسَانُ يَزْنِي وَالْيَدَانِ تَزْنِيَانِ وَالرِّجْلَانِ تَزْنِيَانِ وَيُحَقِّقُ ذَلِكَ الْفَرْجُ أَوْ يُكَذِّبُهُ»

[AI] We were informed by Al-Qa'nabi, who was informed by Abdul-Aziz ibn Muhammad, who heard it from Al-Ala, who heard it from his father, who heard it from Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The disbeliever and his killer will never be united in the Fire."

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَجْتَمِعُ الْكَافِرُ وَقَاتِلُهُ فِي النَّارِ أَبَدًا»

[AI] Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who initiates the argument bears the burden of proof as long as the oppressed person does not transgress."

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُسْتَبَّانِ مَا قَالَا فَعَلَى الْبَادِئِ مِنْهُمَا مَا لَمْ يَعْتَدِ الْمَظْلُومُ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Hasten to perform good deeds before a time comes upon you like the dark night. During that time, a person will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever in the evening, or he will be a believer in the evening and a disbeliever in the morning. He will sell his religion for worldly gains."
