0. Introduction (12/14)
[Machine] "Be cautious about stepping on my heart, as it is detrimental to the hearts of wounded men."
[Machine] I heard al-Hasan saying, "Indeed, the sound of sandals behind men rarely delays fools."
[Machine] "He would get up and move aside when the man or the two men sat next to him."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The feet of a servant will not be able to move on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about his age and how he spent it, his knowledge and how he acted upon it, his wealth and how he earned it and how he spent it, and his body and how he wore it out."
[Machine] "Allah will not leave His servants on the Day of Judgment when people will stand before the Lord of the worlds, until He asks them about four things: how they spent their lives, what they endured in their bodies, what they earned and how they spent it, and what deeds they did with the knowledge they had."
[Machine] "Do not depart from a servant on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about four things: his life, how he fared in it, his body, how he wore it out, his wealth, how he earned it and how he spent it, and his knowledge, what he did with it."
[Machine] I have a peacock, "If you have not learned, learn for yourself, for indeed people have lost their trustworthiness."
[Machine] "I realized that people, and the persons who engage in acts of worship, are not recognized by their eloquence, but rather they are recognized by their actions. That is the beneficial knowledge."
0.46 [Machine] The reporting of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the teaching of Sunnah.
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Convey from me, even if it be an Ayah, and narrate from the Children of Isra'il, and there is no harm, And whoever lies upon me purposely, then let him take his seat in the Fire." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2669)
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ordered us not to be defeated in three matters: commanding good, forbidding evil, and teaching people the traditions (sunnah).
[Machine] Abu Umaymah used to come to us with a great matter when we sat with him and would say to us, "Listen, comprehend, and convey to others what you hear from us." Sulaim said, "He is like someone who testifies to what he knows."
[Machine] "I came to Aba Dhar while he was sitting by the middle Jamarah, and people had gathered around him seeking his advice. A man stood in front of him and said, 'Did you not forbid issuing religious rulings?' He raised his head towards him and said, 'Are you my supervisor? If you were to put a muzzle on this,' pointing to his mouth, 'and I thought that I could fulfill a word that I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ before you approve it, then I would fulfill it.'"
[Machine] "To be a mufti?" So I said, "No, but I consider it unreliable for you to leave and we stay." Abu Al-Ala said, "Abu Al-Ala is right."
[Machine] 'Abidah used to come to 'Abdullah every Thursday and ask him about things he had missed. Generally, what 'Abidah asked 'Abdullah about was what 'Abdullah would keep from being asked about.'
[Machine] I heard Ikrimah say, "Why don't you ask me if you're bankrupt?"
[Machine] "Knowledge is a treasure, and questions unlock it."
[Machine] Ibrahim, "Whoever humbles himself, his knowledge becomes enhanced."
[Machine] "Whoever humbles himself, his knowledge will be raised."
[Machine] "Umar ibn al-Khattab said: 'Whoever improves his conduct, improves his knowledge.'"
[Machine] He used to gather his children and say, "O my children, learn, for if you are small among a people, perhaps you will be great among others. And how unfortunate it is for an elderly person to be asked when he has no knowledge."
[Machine] Ibn Abbas used to put a cable on my legs and taught me the Quran and the Sunnah.
[Machine] I heard Sufyan say, "Whoever is impatient will harm himself with a lot of knowledge, and whoever does not rush and seeks knowledge persistently until he attains it."
[Machine] It is said to be like a treasure that is not spent from.
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "The example of knowledge that is not put into practice is like a treasure that is not spent in the way of Allah."
[Machine] "Indeed, knowledge is like springs that people seek and strive for. It quenches the thirst of some and benefits others with God's guidance. Wisdom, however, cannot be expressed like a lifeless body without a soul. Similarly, knowledge should not be hoarded, unused like a treasure. Rather, the example of a knowledgeable person is like a person carrying a lantern in a dark path, illuminating the way for those who pass by. Everyone prays for their well-being."
[Machine] After his death, a man is followed by three things: a continuous charity that is given after him, the prayers of his children upon him, and knowledge that he spread and is acted upon after him.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: When a man dies, his action discontinues from him except three things, namely, perpetual sadaqah (charity), or the knowledge by which benefit is acquired, or a pious child who prays for him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2880)
[Machine] "He said when he arrived in Basra, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, has sent me to you to teach you the book of your Lord and your Sunnah and purify your ways.'"
narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever seeks knowledge, he is atoning for what has passed (of sins while doing so)." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2648)
0.47 [Machine] The journey in the pursuit of knowledge, and the possibility of hardship in it.
[Machine] "I stayed in the city for three times, and I had no need except that I had finished it, except that a man whom they were expecting was narrating a story, so I stayed until he arrived and asked him."
[Machine] "I heard Busar ibn Ubayd Allah saying, 'If I used to travel to Egypt from other cities, I would do so just to listen to a single Hadith.'"
[Machine] About the companions of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, we were not satisfied until we traveled to the city and heard it directly from their mouths.
[Machine] "Prophet Dawud ﷺ said to the person of knowledge: 'Take a staff made of iron and sandals made of iron, and seek knowledge until the staff breaks and the sandals wear out.'"
[Machine] He sleeps and then I put my cloak under my head and lay down until midday. Then he says, "When did you come here, O cousin of the Messenger of Allah?" I say, "A long time ago." He says, "What a terrible thing you have done! Why didn't you inform me?" I say, "I wanted you to come to me after you had fulfilled your need."
[Machine] The following sentence translates to: "The majority of the hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were narrated by the people of this neighborhood among the Ansar, and by Allah, if I came to a man from them and it was said that he was sleeping, I would leave him until he woke up to ask him about his hadith."
[Machine] "If I had accompanied Ibn Abbas, I would have acquired much knowledge from him."
[Machine] I used to come to the door of Uruwah and sit by the door. If I wanted to enter, I would have entered, but out of respect for him."

[Machine] "When the messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away, I said to a man from the Ansar, 'O so and so, come let us ask the companions of the Prophet ﷺ , for they are still numerous today.' He marveled at me and said, 'O Ibn Abbas, do you think people are in need of you? Among the people there are companions of the Prophet ﷺ , who do you see?' I left this matter and approached (the companions) to ask them. If there was a hadeeth from a person, I went to him while he was speaking, I leaned my cloak on his door, and the wind blew dust on my face. He would come out and see me, and say, 'O cousin of the Messenger of Allah, what brought you here? Did you not send for me so that I could come to you?' I would say, 'No, I am more deserving of coming to you, so I ask you about the hadeeth.' The man would then remain until he saw me, and the people had gathered around me, and he said, 'This boy was more intelligent than me.'"
[Machine] A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ traveled to Fadalah ibn 'Ubayd while he was in Egypt. He came to him while he was tending to his camel and said, "Welcome!" The man replied, "Indeed, I did not come to visit you, but I heard that you and I have a Hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and I hoped to acquire some knowledge from you." Fadalah replied, "This and that."

[Machine] "He said to you all this and if it was someone other than you, I wouldn't have given it to him." Then he said, "Did you do it?" After that, no one was seen buying from the market nor selling, until he met with Allah, the Almighty and the Glorious.

Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said to Abdullah ibn Salam, 'Who are the knowledgeable ones?' He replied, 'Those who act upon what they know.' Umar then asked, 'What removes knowledge from the hearts of men?' Abdullah ibn Salam replied, 'Greed.'
