And narrated Sad that the Prophet ﷺ said to 'Ali, "Will you not be pleased from this that you are to me like Aaron was to Moses?"

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى

Messenger of Allah, are you leaving me behind amongst women and children? Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Aren't you satisfied with being unto me what Aaron was unto Moses but with this exception that there would be no prophet after me?

خَلَّفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ تُخَلِّفُنِي فِي النِّسَاءِ وَالْصِّبْيَانِ فَقَالَ أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لاَ نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي

Aren't you satisfied with being unto me what Aaron was unto Moses?

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى

that the Prophet ﷺ said to 'Ali: "You are to me in the position that Harun was to Musa, except that there is no Prophet after me."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلاَّ أَنَّهُ لاَ نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي

The Prophet said to 'Ali: "Would it not please you to be to me as Harun was to Musa?"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ أَلاَ تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى

[AI] Ali went out with the Prophet ﷺ until he came to Thaniyyat al-Wada'. Ali was weeping and saying, "Are you leaving me behind with those who remain behind?" So he said, "Are you not pleased to be to me in the position of Harun to Musa, except for prophethood?"

أَنَّ عَلِيًّا خَرَجَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حَتَّى جَاءَ ثَنِيَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ، وَعَلِيٌّ يَبْكِي، يَقُولُ: تُخَلِّفُنِي مَعَ الْخَوَالِفِ؟ فَقَالَ: «أَوَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا النُّبُوَّةَ».

The Prophet said to 'Ali: "Would it not please you to be to me as Harun was to Musa?" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 115)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى؟

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said to Ali: "Are you not pleased to be to me in the position of Harun to Musa?" He said, "I am pleased, I am pleased." Then he said, "Yes, yes."

إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ: «أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى؟» قَالَ: رَضِيتُ، رَضِيتُ. ثُمَّ قَالَ: بَلَى، بَلَى.

that the Prophet ﷺ said to 'Ali: "You are to me in the position that Harun was to Musa, except that there is no Prophet after me." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3730)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى قِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ غَيْرَ أَنْ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي قَالَ قَالَ نَعَمْ

خَلَّفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ تُخَلِّفُنِي فِي النِّسَاءِ وَالصِّبْيَانِ قَالَ أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي

[AI] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on the expedition of Tabuk, he left Ali behind and asked him, "Are you not okay with being to me what Haroon was to Musa, except that there is no prophet after me?"

لَمَّا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ خَلَّفَ عَلِيًّا فَقَالَ لَهُ أَتُخَلِّفُنِي؟ فقَالَ لَهُ أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي

that the Prophet ﷺ said to 'Ali: "You are to me in the position that Harun was to Musa, except that there is no Prophet after me." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3730)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي

[AI] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wanted to appoint Ali as his successor, Ali said to him, "What will people say about me if you appoint me?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Would you not be pleased to be to me as Aaron was to Moses, except that there will be no other prophet after me or after you?"

لَمَّا أَرَادَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُخَلِّفَ عَلِيًّا قَالَ قَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ مَا يَقُولُ النَّاسُ فِيَّ إِذَا خَلَّفْتَنِي؟ قَالَ فَقَالَ أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى؟ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ أَوْ لَا يَكُونُ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: ''Ali is part of me and I am part of him, and no one will represent me except 'Ali.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 119)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ عَلِيٌّ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَلَا يُؤَدِّي عَنِّي إِلَّا أَنَا أَوْ عَلِيٌّ

[AI] She has my companion Abu Mahl, how old are you? She said: eighty-six years. He said: Have you heard anything from your father? She said: Asma bint Umayyis told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ali, "You are to me as Harun was to Musa, except that there will be no prophet after me."

لَهَا رَفِيقِي أَبُو مَهْلٍ كَمْ لَكِ؟ قَالَتْ سِتَّةٌ وَثَمَانُونَ سَنَةً قَالَ مَا سَمِعْتِ مِنْ أَبِيكِ شَيْئًا؟ قَالَتْ حَدَّثَتْنِي أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "O Ali, you are to me like Harun was to Musa, except that there will be no prophet after me."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَا عَلِيُّ أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ

The Prophet said to 'Ali: "Would it not please you to be to me as Harun was to Musa?" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 115)

Had Messenger of Allah ﷺ not stated this.." None should make a request for death," I would have definitely done that. (Using translation from Muslim 2680c)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَتَمَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ لَتَمَنَّيْتُهُ»

Had Messenger of Allah ﷺ not stated this.." None should make a request for death," I would have definitely done that. (Using translation from Muslim 2680c)

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "No month can be completed in sixty days."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يُتِمُّ شَهْرَانِ سِتِّينَ يَوْمًا»

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ said to Ali, "You are to me as Harun was to Musa."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ «أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Umm Salamah, "This is Ali ibn Abi Talib, his flesh is my flesh and his blood is my blood. He holds the same position with me as Harun did with Musa, except that there will be no prophet after me."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ «هَذَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ لَحْمُهُ لَحْمِي وَدَمُهُ دَمِي هُوَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي»

And narrated Sad that the Prophet ﷺ said to 'Ali, "Will you not be pleased from this that you are to me like Aaron was to Moses?" (Using translation from Bukhārī 3706)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ «أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى»

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ said to Ali, "Wouldn't you be satisfied to be to me as Haroon was to Musa, except that there is no prophet after me."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ «أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي كَمَا هَارُونُ مِنْ مُوسَى غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ali, "You are to me in the position of Harun (Aaron) to Musa (Moses), except that there will be no prophet after me."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ «أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى وَلَكِنْ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say to Ali, "You are to me like Aaron was to Moses."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لِعَلِيٍّ «أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying to Ali, "You are to me what Harun was to Musa, except that there will be no Prophet after me."

[AI] I heard Fatimah bint Al-Hussein saying that Asma bint Umayis narrated to her that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "O Ali, you are to me as Harun was to Musa, except that there will be no prophet after me."

سَمِعْتُ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ الْحُسَيْنِ تَقُولُ حَدَّثَتْنِي أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَا عَلِيُّ أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي»

And narrated Sad that the Prophet ﷺ said to 'Ali, "Will you not be pleased from this that you are to me like Aaron was to Moses?" (Using translation from Bukhārī 3706)

[AI] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to Tabuk, Ali also went out accompanying him. He started crying and said, "O Messenger of Allah, are you leaving me with the women and children?" The Prophet ﷺ said to Ali, "O Ali, are you not satisfied with being to me as Harun was to Musa, except that there is no Prophethood after me?"

لَمَّا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى تَبُوكَ خَرَجَ عَلِيٌّ يُشَيِّعُهُ فَبَكَى وَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَتَتْرُكُنِي مَعَ الْخَوَالِفِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَا عَلِيُّ «أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا النُّبُوَّةَ»

that the Prophet ﷺ said to 'Ali: "You are to me in the position that Harun was to Musa, except that there is no Prophet after me." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3730)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ «أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي»

And narrated Sad that the Prophet ﷺ said to 'Ali, "Will you not be pleased from this that you are to me like Aaron was to Moses?" (Using translation from Bukhārī 3706)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ «أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى؟»

[AI] Ali went out with the Prophet ﷺ until they reached Thaniyyat al-Wada' and he wanted to conquer Tabuk. Ali complained and said, "Will you leave me with the children?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Are you not pleased to be to me in the position of Harun to Musa, except for Prophethood?"

أَنَّ عَلِيًّا خَرَجَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حَتَّى جَاءَ ثَنِيَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ يُرِيدُ غَزْوَةَ تَبُوكَ وَعَلِيٌّ يَشْتَكِي وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «أَتُخَلِّفُنِي مَعَ الْخَوَالِفِ؟» فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا النُّبُوَّةَ؟»

[AI] That Ali went out with the Prophet ﷺ until they arrived at Thaniyyat al-Wada' intending to go to the Battle of Tabuk. Ali complained, saying, "Will you leave me behind with the women and children?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Are you not pleased that you have the same position with me as Harun had with Musa, except that there is no prophethood after me?"

أَنَّ عَلِيًّا خَرَجَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حَتَّى جَاءَ ثَنِيَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ يُرِيدُ غَزْوَةَ تَبُوكَ وَعَلِيٌّ يَشْتَكِي وَهُوَ يَقُولُ أَتُخَلِّفُنِي مَعَ الْخَوَالِفِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا النُّبُوَّةَ؟»

Messenger of Allah, are you leaving me behind amongst women and children? Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Aren't you satisfied with being unto me what Aaron was unto Moses but with this exception that there would be no prophet after me? (Using translation from Muslim 2404b)
