[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to Tabuk, Ali also went out accompanying him. He started crying and said, "O Messenger of Allah, are you leaving me with the women and children?" The Prophet ﷺ said to Ali, "O Ali, are you not satisfied with being to me as Harun was to Musa, except that there is no Prophethood after me?"

الكبرى للنسائي:٨٣٧٨ – أَخْبَرَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ عَنِ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيِّ عَنْ هَاشِمِ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ سَعْدٍ قَالَ

لَمَّا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى تَبُوكَ خَرَجَ عَلِيٌّ يُشَيِّعُهُ فَبَكَى وَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَتَتْرُكُنِي مَعَ الْخَوَالِفِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَا عَلِيُّ «أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا النُّبُوَّةَ»

Ali's position like Harun to Musa

ahmad:1463 – Abū Saʿīd Mawlā Banī Hāshim > Sulaymān b. Bilāl > al-Juʿayd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān > ʿĀʾishah bt. Saʿd > Saʿd

[AI] Ali went out with the Prophet ﷺ until he came to Thaniyyat al-Wada'. Ali was weeping and saying, "Are you leaving me behind with those who remain behind?" So he said, "Are you not pleased to be to me in the position of Harun to Musa, except for prophethood?"

أحمد:١٤٦٣ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلالٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْجُعَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهَا

أَنَّ عَلِيًّا خَرَجَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حَتَّى جَاءَ ثَنِيَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ، وَعَلِيٌّ يَبْكِي، يَقُولُ: تُخَلِّفُنِي مَعَ الْخَوَالِفِ؟ فَقَالَ: «أَوَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا النُّبُوَّةَ».

[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on the expedition of Tabuk, he left Ali behind and asked him, "Are you not okay with being to me what Haroon was to Musa, except that there is no prophet after me?"

لَمَّا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ خَلَّفَ عَلِيًّا فَقَالَ لَهُ أَتُخَلِّفُنِي؟ فقَالَ لَهُ أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي

And narrated Sad that the Prophet ﷺ said to 'Ali, "Will you not be pleased from this that you are to me like Aaron was to Moses?" (Using translation from Bukhārī 3706)
