16. Tribes (2/10)
[Machine] He ﷺ called the Messenger of Allah from behind the veils and said, "O Muhammad, indeed my praise is beautiful and my defamation is ugly." So Allah, may He be glorified, said, "That is for me, as Abu Salamah narrated from the Prophet."
[Machine] And he said once, "Verily the crow remembered his counterpart."
16.9 [Machine] Ibn Sard+
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ heard two men speaking to each other, and one of them became angry and his anger intensified while he was speaking. So the Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, I know a word that if he were to say it, his anger would go away." Then a man came to him and said, "Say: I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the accursed." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you see any harm?" He said, "No, it only increased him in that."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Al-Ahzab (the Confederates): "Now we attack them, and they do not attack us."
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, it is said that when a man trusts you with his life, do not kill him. He ﷺ said, "He had entrusted me with his life, and I disliked shedding his blood."
16.10 [Machine] From the statement of Tariq ibn Ashyam
The Prophet ﷺ said, "Name yourselves after me (by my name), but do not call yourselves by my Kuniya, and whoever sees me in a dream, he surely sees me, for Satan cannot impersonate me (appear in my figure). And whoever intentionally ascribes something to me falsely, he will surely take his place in the (Hell) Fire. (Using translation from Bukhārī 6197)
[Machine] "My father used to pray behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he was sixteen years old, along with Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman. So I asked him, 'Did they used to show devotion (khushu')?' He said, 'No, my son, they were not like that, they were conversing.'"
[Machine] My father had prayed behind the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , when he was sixteen years old. Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman said, "No, young ones are not allowed to speak."
[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and when a person came to him and asked him, he said, "O Prophet of Allah, how should I say when I ask my Lord?" He said, "Say, 'O Allah, forgive me and have mercy on me and guide me and provide for me, and enclose all of my hand except for the thumb, and He said, 'these will gather for you the good of your worldly life and your Hereafter."
[Machine] And I heard him say to the people, "Whoever singles out Allah and disbelieves in what is worshipped besides Him, his wealth, his blood, and his reckoning are forbidden upon Allah."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever believes in the oneness of Allah and rejects what is worshiped besides Him, Allah has made his wealth, blood, and account forbidden, and his reckoning is with Allah."
16.11 [Machine] From the speech of Khubbab bin al-Aratt
"We emigrated with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, seeking the Face of Allah. So our reward is with Allah. Among us were those who died and did not consume any of the rewards (in this life), and among us were those who lived to see its fruits and tend to them. Verily, Musab bin 'Umair died without leaving anything behind but a garment. When they covered his head with it, his feet would become exposed, and when they covered his feet with it, his head will become exposed. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Cover his head and place Al-Idhkir over his feet." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3853)
We asked Khabbab: Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recit (the Quran) in the noon and afternoon prayers? He replied: Yes. We then asked: How did you know this? He said: By the shaking of his beard, may peace be upon him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 801)
I came to Khabbab who had been branded with seven brands over his ʿAbdomen, and I heard him saying, "If the Prophet: had not forbidden us to invoke (Allah) for death, I would have invoked Allah for it." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6350)
Khabbab said “We came to the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ while he was reclining on an outer garment in the shade of the Ka’bah. Complaining to him we said “Do you not ask Allaah for help for us? And do you not pray to Allaah for us? He sat aright turning red in his face and said “A man before you (i.e., in ancient times) was caught and a pit was dug for him in the earth and then a saw was brought placed on his head and it was broken into two pieces but that did not turn him away from his religion. They were combed in iron combs in flesh and sinews above the bones. Even that did not turn them away from their religion. I swear by Allaah, Allaah will accomplish this affair until a rider will travel between San’a and Hadramaut and he will not fear anyone except Allaah, Most High(nor will he fear the attack of) a wolf on his sheep, but you are making haste. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2649)
[Machine] "We used to sit at the door of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , waiting for him to come out for the Dhuhr prayer. When he came out to us, he said, 'Listen,' and we replied, 'We have listened.' Then he said, 'Listen,' and we replied, 'We have listened.' Then he said, 'There will be leaders over you who will not be fair, so do not help them in their injustice and do not believe them in their lies. For whoever supports them in their injustice and believes them in their lies, he will not be granted access to the Pond (of Al-Kawthar).' "
[Machine] I entered upon Khabbab and he was suffering from seven diseases. He said, "If it were not for the fact that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying that no one of you should wish for death, I would have wished for it. And indeed, I have seen myself with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I did not possess a single dirham. Yet, now in my house I have forty thousand dirhams." Khabbab then instructed for his shroud to be brought, and when he saw it, he cried and said, "But Hamzah did not have anything for his shroud except a Burdah (thick woolen garment) that would cover his head and leave his feet exposed. And when it was placed on his feet, it would uncover his head, until it could be stretched over his head, and then it would leave his feet uncovered. And on his feet was a piece of cloth called Al-Idhkir."
16.12 [Machine] My father Tha'labat Al-Ashjai
[Machine] I said, "What happens to someone like me, O Messenger of Allah, who has children in Islam?" He said, "Whoever dies and has children in Islam, Allah will admit him to Paradise by His mercy and favor upon him and them." He said, "After that, Abu Hurairah met me and said, 'Are you the one whom the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said to regarding the two children?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'He said that to me is more beloved to me than being given Palestine and its surroundings.'"
16.13 [Machine] Tariq ibn Abdullah
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you pray, do not spit to your right or left, nor in front of you. If you have to spit, do so behind you and to your left, if there is nothing there. Do it in this manner and rub it under your feet." He did not mention that Waki' or 'Abdul Razzaq said this. They said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me..."
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ that he said: "When you pray, do not spit in front of you or to your right, but rather spit to your left if there is an empty space. Otherwise, spit under your foot and wipe it."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not spit in front of you or to your right, but rather to your left or in front of you, then cover it."
16.14 [Machine] My Father, Basra Al-Ghaffari
Four duʿāʾs of the Prophet ﷺ and Allah grants three of them
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I asked my Lord ﷻ for four ˹things˺. So he granted me three ˹of them˺ and denied me one ˹of them˺:
(1) I asked Allah ﷻ to not gather my Ummah upon misguidance, and he granted it to me, and
(2) I asked Allah ﷻ to not have ˹the Ummah˺ be overcome by an enemy other than themselves, and he granted it to me, and
(3) I asked Allah ﷻ to not have ˹ the Ummah˺ be destroyed by plagues similar to nations before them, and he granted it to me, and
(4) I asked Allah ﷻ to not to have ˹the Ummah˺ be splintered into groups have that they ˹not˺ taste affliction from each other, and he denied it to me."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the Asr prayer with us, and when he finished he said, "Indeed, this prayer was presented to those who came before you, but they neglected and abandoned it. So whoever among you prays it, his reward will be doubled, and there will be no prayer after it until the witness is seen, and the witness is the setting of the sun."
[Machine] "I came to the Prophet ﷺ when I migrated, and this was before I embraced Islam. He milked a sheep for me, which he used to milk for his family. I drank it, and when I became a Muslim in the morning, the Prophet's family said to me, 'You spent the night as we did yesterday, feeling hungry.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ milked a sheep for me, and I drank it and was satisfied. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then asked me, 'Did you drink?' I replied, 'Yes, Messenger of Allah. I drank until I was full and have never drunk milk before today.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Indeed, the disbeliever eats in seven intestines, while the believer eats in one.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed with us in a valley called al-Mukhammas during the Asr prayer. He said, "Indeed, this prayer, the Asr prayer, was presented to those before you, but they neglected it. So, whoever prays it will have his reward doubled, and no prayer after it until you see the evening star." I asked Ibn Lahi'ah, "What is the evening star?" He replied, "It is the planet that the Arabs call al-Kawkab, which is the witness of the night."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed for us and mentioned us.
[Machine] A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ informed me, saying, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Verily, Allah has increased your prayers, so pray the Witr prayer after the 'Isha prayer until the Fajr prayer." Abu Basrah Al-Ghifari said, "Abu Tamim and I were sitting." He said, "Then Abu Basrah took my hand and we went to Abu Basrah's house and found him at the door of Amr ibn Al-'As's house. Abu Basrah said, 'O Abu Basrah, have you heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, 'Verily, Allah has increased your prayers, so pray the Witr prayer after the 'Isha prayer until the Fajr prayer?" He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Did you hear it?' He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Did you hear it?' He said, 'Yes.'"

[Machine] A woman went out to pray when she was approached by a man who tempted her with his clothes. He fulfilled his lust with her and then left. Another man came to her and she told him what the previous man had done. The man went in search of him. Then, a group of Ansar (supporters) approached her and she told them what had happened. They also went to search for the man. They found the man who had gone in search of the first man and brought him to the Prophet ﷺ. She identified him as the perpetrator. The Prophet ﷺ ordered him to be stoned. The man who had been approached by the Ansar said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am the one who did it, I swear by Allah." The Prophet ﷺ told the woman to go, as Allah had forgiven her, and he told the man kind words. It was said, "O Prophet of Allah, shouldn't you stone him?" He replied, "He has sincerely repented, if only the people of Madinah would repent like he did, it would be accepted from them."

[Machine] He saw the Prophet ﷺ praying near the gate of Bani Sahm, with people passing in front of him, and there was no barrier between him and the Kaaba.
[Machine] I heard my grandfather say, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying near the door of Bani Sahm, and people were passing in front of him, but there was no barrier between him and the Kaaba."
[Machine] "It's not from my father that I heard it, but from some of my family members that our grandfather mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ prayed near the door of the Banu Sahm, which was not far from the circumambulation area."
"I saw the Prophet when he had completed his seven (circuits of Tawaf); he came to the edge of the Mataf and prayed two Rakahs, with nothing in between him and people who were circumambulating." (Daif) (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2959)
His father said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited Surat An-Najm in Makkah and prostrated, and those who were with him prostrated. I raised my head and refused to prostrate." At that time Al-Muttalib had not yet accepted Islam. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 958)

[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrating towards the star and the people prostrating with him. Al-Muttalib said, 'I did not prostrate with them, and I was a polytheist that day.' Al-Muttalib also said, 'I will never leave prostration to it.'"

[Machine] "I used to travel with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in his Farewell Pilgrimage. He said to me one night, 'O Ma'mar, I experienced restlessness tonight.' I said, 'By the One who sent you with the truth, I also experienced the same restlessness as you did, but I curved it away from me to replace it with someone else.' He said, 'I don't do that.' When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ slaughtered his sacrificial animal in Mina, he ordered me to shave its head. I took the razor and stood up on his head. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at my face and said to me, 'O Ma'mar, can you see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the flesh of his earlobe and in your hand holding the razor?' I said, 'By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, that is indeed a blessing and favor from Allah upon me.' He said, 'Indeed it is, so now you may proceed.' Then I shaved the head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."

[Machine] He sent his servant with a measure of wheat and told him to exchange it for barley. The servant went and took a measure and an additional amount of barley. When he came back, Ma'mar informed him of that, and Ma'mar said to him, "Did you do that? Go and return it and take only an equal amount for what you gave. For I used to hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Food is exchanged for food in equal amounts.' And our food that day was barley." It was said that there was nothing like it. Ma'mar said, "I fear it might have been mingled (with impurities)."

I testify that there is no god but Allah, I testify that there is no god but Allah; I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Lowering your voice while saying them (these words). Then you must raise your voice in making the testimony: I testify that there is no god but Allah, I testify there is no god but Allah; I testify Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, I testify Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Come to prayer, come to prayer; come to salvation, come to salvation. If it is the morning prayer, you must pronounce; prayer is better than sleep, prayer is better than sleep, Allah is most great; there is no god but Allah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 500)
