One day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed and gave the salutation while a rak'ah of the prayer remained to be offered. A man went to him and said: You forgot to offer one rak'ah of prayer. Then he returned and entered the mosque and ordered Bilal (to utter the Iqamah). He uttered the Iqamah for prayer. He then led the people in one rak'ah of prayer. I stated it to the people. They asked me: Do you know who he was? I said: No, but I can recognise him if I see him. Then the man passed by me, I said: It is he. The people said: This is Talhah ibn Ubaydullah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1023)

Umm al Hussain said We performed the Farewell Pilgrimage along with the Prophet ﷺ . I saw Usamah and Bilal one of them holding the halter of the she-Camel of the Prophet ﷺ, while the other raising his garment and sheltering from the heat till he had thrown pebbles at the jamrah of the ‘Aqabah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1834)
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering Khutbah during the farewell Hajj, and he was wearing a Burd which he had wrapped from under his armpit." She said: "I was look at muscle of his upper arm quivering and I heard him saying: O you people! Have Taqwa of Allah. If a mutilated Ethiopian slave is put in command over you, then listen to him and obey him, as long as he upholds the Book of Allah among you.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1706)

So hold fast to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided caliphs after me. Adhere to it and cling to it tightly. And beware of newly invented matters [in religion], for every innovation is misguidance."

16.21 [Machine] Umm Kulthum, daughter of Aqabah, Umm Hameed bin Abdul Rahman
[Machine] "Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he said, It is not a lie for a person to speak about the reconciliation between people."
That she heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "He who makes peace between the people by inventing good information or saying good things, is not a liar." (Using translation from Bukhārī 2692)
[Machine] From his mother, Umm Kulthum bint 'Uqba, who was among the early emigrants, she said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "The liar is not the one who reconciles between people by saying good things or spreading goodness." And he said once, "and spreads goodness."
"Qul Huwa Allahu ahad [Say: He is Allah, (the) One] is equivalent to one third of the Quran." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3787)
I did not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ making a concession for anything people say falsely except in three matters. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say: I do not count as a liar a man who puts things right between people, saying a word by which he intends only putting things right, and a man who says something in war, and a man who says something to his wife, or a wife who says something to her husband. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4921)
[Machine] And about his mother, Umm Kulthum bint Abi Salama, she said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Umm Salamah, he said to her, "I have presented a gift to Najashi of a robe and jewelry made of musk, and I do not see Najashi except that he has passed away, and I do not see anything returned to me except my gift. So if it is returned to me, it is yours." They said: And it was as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, and his gift was returned to him. So he gave every woman of his wives a jewelry made of musk, and he gave Umm Salamah the remaining musk and robe.
"One who brings peace between people is not a liar, he says something good, or reports something good." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1938)
[Machine] She said, "The Prophet ﷺ permitted lying in three situations: during war, in reconciling between people, and a man speaking to his wife."
"One who brings peace between people is not a liar, he says something good, or reports something good." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1938)
16.22 [Machine] A Mother Gave Birth to Shiba bin Othman
[Machine] She saw the Prophet (PBUH) while he was running between Safa and Marwa, saying "The footsteps will not be cut off except through exertion."
[Machine] She saw the Prophet ﷺ walking in the valley of Al-Mas'il and he was saying, "The valley will not be cut off except with force." And I think he said, "The garment had uncovered his knees." Then he said, "Hammad later said, 'The Al-Abtah will not be cut off except with force.'" And I heard him say, "The Al-Abtah will not be cut off except with force."
16.23 [Machine] Mother of Waraqah bint Abdullah bin Al-Harith Al-Ansari
[Machine] That the Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to visit her every Friday and that she said, "O Prophet of Allah, on the day of Badr, may I go out with you to treat your sick and heal your wounded, so that perhaps Allah will guide me to martyrdom?" He said to her, "Stay behind, for indeed Allah will guide you to martyrdom." And she was a freed slave girl and had a servant boy with her. So they prolonged their stay until he attacked her in the night in Al-Qatif until she died. They fled and came to Umar and it was said to him, "Indeed, Umm Waraqah has been killed by her servant boy and her servant girl and they fled." Umar stood up among the people and said, "Verily, the Messenger of Allah used to visit Umm Waraqah and say, 'Let us go and visit the female martyr.' And indeed, so-and-so, her servant girl, and so-and-so, her servant boy, attacked her, and then they fled, and no one is sheltering them. And whoever finds them, bring them to me." So they were brought to him and they were crucified, and they were the first two to be crucified.
[Machine] From Umm Waraqah bint Abdullah bin al-Harith al-Ansariyyah, she had collected the Quran and the Prophet ﷺ had ordered her to lead her household in prayer. She had a muadhin and she would lead her household in prayer.
16.24 [Machine] Salma bint Hamza
that her male servant had died and left behind a daughter. The Prophet ﷺ gave half of the inheritance to his daughter and gave half of the inheritance to Yaʿlá. He was the son of Salmá.
16.25 [Machine] Mother Maqal al-Assad
[Machine] She said, "O messenger of Allah, I want to perform Hajj and my camel is pregnant. What do you advise me?" He said, "Perform 'Umrah in Ramadan, for an 'Umrah in Ramadan equals a Hajj."
[Machine] Marwan sent a message to Umm Maqil al-Asadiyyah, asking her about this narration. She narrated to him that her husband made an oath to her in the way of Allah and that she wanted to perform Umrah. She asked her husband, the one who made the oath, but he refused. So she went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him about it. He commanded her husband to fulfill the oath and said, "Hajj and Umrah are from the ways of Allah. Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj or it completes the Hajj, and a Hajj with good intention is equivalent to Hajj or it completes the Hajj."

16.26 [Machine] Busrat, daughter of Safwan
[Machine] Marwan asked me, "Did you touch the (male) private part?" So I said, "No, it does not have any discharge." He then said, "Busrat, Safwan's daughter, mentioned that it is said about it, so he sent a messenger to her." The messenger mentioned that she said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever touches his private part should perform ablution."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever touches his private parts, should perform ablution." He then sent a messenger to her while I was present. She said: "Yes," and brought it from him.
Abdullah ibn AbuBakr reported that he heard Urwah say: I entered upon Marwan ibn al-Hakam. We mentioned things that render the ablution void. Marwan said: Does it become void by touching the penis? Urwah replied: This I do not know. Marwan said: Busrah daughter of Safwan reported to me that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: He who touches his penis should perform ablution. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 181)

"When he was the governor of Al-Madinah, Marwan mentioned that a man should perform Wudu' after touching his penis, if he touches it iwth his hand. I did not like that and I said: 'The one who touches it does not have to perform Wudu'.' Marwan said: 'Busrah bint Safwan told me that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention the things for which Wudu' should be performed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Wudu' should be performed after touching the penis.' 'Urwah said: 'I continued to argue with Marwan until he called one of his guards and sent him to Busrah to ask her about what Marwan had narrated, and Busrah sent word saying something like that which Marwan had narrated to me from her." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 164)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me some mutton of sadaqa. I sent a piece out of that to 'A'isha. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to 'A'isha, he said: Have you anything with you (to eat)?
