[Machine] "He (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) witnessed and a man from Khath'am called Sued ibn Tariq asked him about alcoholic drinks. So he forbade him and said, 'It is something that we manufacture as medicine.' But the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Indeed, it is a disease.'"  

أحمد:٢٧٢٣٨حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنَ وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمَ يُقَالُ لَهُ سُوَيْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ فَنَهَاهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا هُوَ شَيْءٌ نَصْنَعُهُ دَوَاءً فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّمَا هِيَ دَاءٌ

[Machine] Hajjaj, indeed, he witnessed the Prophet ﷺ and a man from Khath'am called Suwaid ibn Tariq asked him. Ibnu Ja'far or Tariq ibn Suwaid Al-Ju'fi asked the Prophet ﷺ about alcohol. So he prohibited him and mentioned the Hadith.  

أحمد:١٨٧٨٨حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ قَالَ

حَجَّاجٌ إِنَّهُ شَهِدَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ سُوَيْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍوَقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَوْ طَارِقُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ الْجُعْفِيُّ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ؟ فَنَهَاهُ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

[Machine] It is said that Suwaid bin Tariq asked the Prophet ﷺ about alcohol, and he forbade it. Suwaid then said, "I make it for medicine." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, it is a disease and not a cure."

يُقَالُ لَهُ سُوَيْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ فَنَهَاهُ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَصْنَعُهَا لِلدَّوَاءِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّهَا دَاءٌ وَلَيْسَتْ بِدَوَاءٍ  

ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ تَدَاوِي الْمَرْءِ بِمَا لَا يَحِلُّ اسْتِعْمَالُهُ مِنَ الْأَشْيَاءِ كُلِّهَا

ibnhibban:6065Sulaymān b. al-Ḥasan al-ʿAṭṭār > ʿUbaydullāh b. Muʿādh b. Muʿādh from my father > Shuʿbah > Simāk > ʿAlqamah b. Wāʾil

[Machine] Abu said that they came to the Prophet ﷺ , and a man from the tribe of Khath'am named Suwayd ibn Tariq approached him. He said, "We make alcohol, and he (the Prophet) prohibited it." The man said, "We only use it for medical purposes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is not a cure, indeed it is a disease."  

ابن حبّان:٦٠٦٥أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْعَطَّارُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ سَمِعَ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنَ وَائِلٍ يُحَدِّثُ

عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُمْ أَتَوَا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمَ يُقَالُ لَهُ سُوَيْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّا نَصْنَعُ الْخَمْرَ فَنَهَاهُ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا نَتَدَاوَى بِهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَيْسَتْ بِدَوَاءٍ إِنَّهَا دَاءٌ»

[Machine] I witnessed the Prophet ﷺ and Suyyid bin Tariq asked him about alcohol, so he forbade it and said, "It is a disease."  

الطبراني:١٨٣٠٩حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ويُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي قَالَا ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ أَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

شَهِدْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَسَأَلَهُ سُوَيْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ فَنَهَاهُ فَقَالَ نَتَدَاوَى بِهَا وَيَجْعَلُ فِي الدَّوَاءِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَيْسَتْ بِدَوَاءٍ وَلَكِنَّهَا دَاءٌ»
