A man asking the Prophet ﷺ about wine

[AI] that he witnessed the Prophet ﷺ, and a man from Khatham called Suwaid ibn Tariq asked him. Ibn Jafar said: or Tariq ibn Suwaid al-Jufi asked the Prophet ﷺ about wine, so he forbade him; then he mentioned the hadith.

أحمد:١٨٧٨٨ – حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ

إِنَّهُ شَهِدَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ سُوَيْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ. وَقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ: أَوْ طَارِقُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ الْجُعْفِيُّ، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ، فَنَهَاهُ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.

[Machine] "He (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) witnessed and a man from Khath'am called Sued ibn Tariq asked him about alcoholic drinks. So he forbade him and said, 'It is something that we manufacture as medicine.' But the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Indeed, it is a disease.'"
