“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, in our land there are grapes which we squeeze (to make wine). Can we drink from it?’ He said: ‘No.’ I repeated the question and said: ‘We treat the sick with it.’ He said: ‘That is not a cure, it is a disease.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3500)   

أحمد:١٨٧٨٧حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ وَأَبُو كَامِلٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكٌ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ بِأَرْضِنَا أَعْنَابًا نَعْتَصِرُهَا فَنَشْرَبُ مِنْهَا؟ قَالَ لَا فَعَاوَدْتُهُ فَقَالَ لَا فَقُلْتُ إِنَّا نَسْتَشْفِي بِهَا لِلْمَرِيضِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ ذَاكَ لَيْسَ شِفَاءً وَلَكِنَّهُ دَاءٌ

ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ الْعُرَنِيِّينَ إِنَّمَا أُبِيحَ لَهُمْ فِي شُرْبِ أَبْوَالِ الْإِبِلِ لِلتَّدَاوِي لَا أَنَّهَا طَاهِرَةٌ

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, in our land we have grapes that we squeeze and drink from." He said, "Do not drink." I said, "Can we use it to pour it over the sick?" The Messenger of Allahﷺ said, "That is a disease, not a cure."
