AHMAD 2254:
from ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbbās —
[Machine] That Damam ibn Tha’labah, the brother of the sons of Saad ibn Bakr, when he embraced Islam, asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the obligatory acts of Islam, such as prayers and others. So the Prophet ﷺ counted for him the five daily prayers, and did not add anything more to them. Then he mentioned Zakah (obligatory charity), then fasting in Ramadan, then performing Hajj (pilgrimage) to the Kaaba. Then he informed him of what Allah has forbidden for him. When he finished, Damam said: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and I bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah. And I will do as you have commanded me, I will not increase nor decrease." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then turned away and said: "If he is sincere in his words, he will enter Paradise."
