"عَنْ عليٍّ قال: صَلاَةُ الْوسْطَى، صَلاَةُ الْعَصْرِ الَّتِى فَرَّطَ (فيهَا) سُلَيْمَانُ ".  

وكيع، وسفيان، والفريابى، [ض] ضياء المقدسي في مختاره [ش] ابن أبى شيبة وعبد بن حميد، ومسدد، وابن جرير، [هب] البيهقى في شعب الإيمان

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

We thought that it was Fajr, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿIt is Asr prayer” - meaning the middle prayer. (Using translation from Aḥmad 990)
