[AI] I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the eighteenth night of the month of Ramadan, and I saw a man shaving his head. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who is shaving his head and the one who has his head shaved have broken their fast."

[AI] I was told by someone from the people of Basra, among them was Al-Hasan, from Ma'qil bin Sinan Al-Ashja'i, that he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me while I was observing ihtikaam (voluntary isolation) for eighteen nights that had passed from the month of Ramadan. He (the Prophet) said: "The one observing ihtikaam has broken the fast for both himself and the one he is observing ihtikaam with."

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ passed by a person while he was observing Ihtikam (staying in seclusion at the mosque for worship) for eighteen days, and he said, "The one observing Ihtikam has broken his fast."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَرَّ بِهِ وَهُوَ يَحْتَجِمُ لِثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ فقَالَ أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ
[AI] "He (the narrator) mentioned that he was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the time of the conquest (of Mecca), and they passed by a man who had been observing I'tikaf in Al-Baqi' for eighteen days of Ramadan, while still in I'tikaf. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'The person observing I'tikaf and the menstruating woman are both fasting.'"

[AI] I passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for eighteen consecutive nights that passed from Ramadan, and he saw a man shaving his head. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The person shaving his head and the one getting his head shaved have broken their fast."

عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came across a man who was getting a haircut during Ramadan. He said, "The one getting a haircut and the one who is giving the haircut have broken their fast."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَتَى عَلَى رَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ
[AI] Narrated by Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by Al-Baqi' on the eighteenth night that remained from Ramadan and he saw a man who was applying henna. So he said, "Has the person applying henna broken his fast, and the one it was applied to?"
عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْبَقِيعِ فِي ثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ لَيْلَةً خَلَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ بِرَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ فَقَالَ أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ

He said, 'The one who shaved and the one whose head was shaved have broken their fast.' Ahmed bin Hanbal said, 'And this is the most authentic narration in this matter.'"

كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لِثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَأَبْصَرَ رَجُلًا يَحْتَجِمُ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came across a man who was covered in impurities while fasting, so he said, "The one who is stained with impurities and the one who causes someone to become stained should break their fast."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَتَى عَلَى رَجُلٍ وَهُوَ يَحْتَجِمُ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me while I was observing ihtikam (a voluntary practice of seclusion and devotion) during the last eighteen nights of Ramadan. He said, "The one observing ihtikam and the one engaged in itikaf have broken their fast."
مَرَّ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا أَحْتَجِمُ فِي ثَمَانِيَ عَشْرَةَ خَلَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[AI] I went with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the eighteenth night of Ramadan, and we passed by a man who was performing Itikaf. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who is performing Itikaf has broken his fast, and the one who has performed Hajj has also broken their fast."
مَشَيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ مَضَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَمَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ passed by during the eighteenth night of Ramadan and saw a man who was performing hijama (a form of cupping therapy). The Prophet said, "The one performing hijama and the one receiving it have broken their fast." Abu Ghifār followed his statement.
مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ خَلَوْنَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَأَبْصَرَ رَجُلًا يَحْتَجِمُ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» تَابَعَهُ أَبُو غِفَارٍ
[AI] While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was holding my hand, eighteen days into Ramadan, he turned around and saw a man who was performing Ihram. He said, "The one in Ihram and the one performing Hajj have broken their fast."
بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ آخِذٌ بِيَدِي لِثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ خَلَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ إِذِ الْتَفَتَ فَرَأَى رَجُلًا يَحْتَجِمُ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[AI] I passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the eighteenth night of Ramadan and saw a man shaving his head. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who shaves and the one who has his head shaved have both broken their fast." Zaidah followed him.
مَرَرْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ خَلَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَأَبْصَرَ رَجُلًا يَحْتَجِمُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» تَابَعَهُ زَائِدَةُ
[AI] One morning, on the eighteenth day of Ramadan, the Prophet ﷺ was holding my hand when suddenly he noticed a man with disheveled hair. He said, "The one with disheveled hair and unkempt beard has broken his fast."
بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ آخِذٌ بِيَدِي صَبِيحَةَ ثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ خَلَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ إِذْ حَانَتْ مِنْهُ نَظْرَةٌ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ يَحْتَجِمُ قَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a man who was abstaining from fasting in Ramadan, so he said, "The one who unnecessarily abstains and the one who forcibly refrains from fasting have both broken their fasts."
أَبْصَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا يَحْتَجِمُ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[AI] He held the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the time of the conquest, and passed by a man who was performing I'tikaf in Ramadan, so he said, "The one who performs I'tikaf and the one who shaves his head during Hajj have both broken their fast."
أَنَّهُ كَانَ آخِذًا بِيَدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ زَمَنَ الْفَتْحِ فَمَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man who was observing fasting for eighteen consecutive days in Ramadan. He said, "The one who observes fasting consecutively for eighteen days has broken their fast."
مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِرَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ لِثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ خَلَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»
[AI] I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the year of the conquest, and a man came by who had fasted eighteen or seventeen days of the month of Ramadan. He was feeling weak and exhausted. So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He breaks his fast and so does the one who compels [others to fast]."
كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَمَرَّ عَلَيَّ رَجُلٌ لِثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ أَوْ لِسَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ يَحْتَجِمُ فَقَالَ أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ
[AI] We were with the Prophet (PBUH) during the time of conquest when he saw a man who had shaved off only eighteen days from Ramadan. He said, while holding his hand, "This man has broken his fast, as well as the one who plucked his hair."
كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ زَمَانَ الْفَتْحِ فَرَأَى رَجُلًا يَحْتَجِمُ لِثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ خَلَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ وَهُوَ آخِذٌ بِيَدِي أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ
"عن عَلِىٍّ: أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ مَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ فِى ثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ مِنْ رَمَضَان فَقَالَ: أَفْطَرَ الْحَجَّامُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ".
"عَنْ أَنَس قَالَ: مَرَّ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ عَلَى رَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ في رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ أفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ والْمَحْجُومُ".
