14. Chapter of Shīn (Male)
“Allah has prescribed Al-Ihsan (proficiency) in all things. So if you kill, then kill well, and if you slaughter, then slaughter well. Let one of you sharpen his blade and spare suffering to the animal he slaughters.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3170)
The Prophet ﷺ as saying: A man who cups and a man who gets himself cupped break their fast. Abu Dawud said: Ibn Thawban transmitted a similar tradition from his father on the authority of Makhul through an chain of narrators mentioned by him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2371)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ once encountered a man who was fasting on the 18th of Ramadan, and I was with him. He said, "The one who observes ihtikaam and the one who practices tahajjud fast."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to a man at al-Baqi' while he was cupping on the 18th of Ramadan ; he (the Prophet) was holding my hand. Thereupon he said: A man who cups and a man who gets himself cupped break their fast. Abu Dawud said: The narrator Khalid al-Hadhdha' transmitted a similar tradition from Abu Qilabah through a different chain of narrators mentioned by the narrator Ayyub. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2369)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ saw a man who was fasting in the month of Shawwal, which is eighteen days after Ramadan, and he said, "The one who fasts in Shawwal after Ramadan has earned the reward of both the one who observes voluntary fasting and the one who observes mandatory fasting."
[Machine] I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the year of the conquest. He passed by a man who was counting eighteen or seventeen (days) in Ramadan. He said, "The one who counts (fasts) and the one who is ignorant (of the correct number) both have broken their fast."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ passed by Maqil ibn Yasar's house during the month of Ramadan while he was observing I'tikaf (seclusion). He said, "The one observing I'tikaf and the one being observed upon have both broken their fast."
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man who was performing Hijama (cupping) in Ramadan, so he said, "The one performing Hijama and the one receiving Hijama have both broken their fast."
