The Prophet ﷺ used to take a bath with one Saʿ up to five Mudds (1 Saʿ = [??] Mudds) of water and used to perform ablution with one Mudd of water.

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَغْسِلُ أَوْ كَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ إِلَى خَمْسَةِ أَمْدَادٍ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ

The Apostle of Allah ﷺ performed ablution with one Mudd and took bath with a Sa' up to five Mudds.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ إِلَى خَمْسَةِ أَمْدَادٍ

The Prophet ﷺ used to wash himself with a sa' (of water) and perform ablution with a mudd (of water). Abu Dawud said: This tradition has also been narrated by Aban on the authority of Qatadah. In this version he said: "I herd safiyyah."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ

The Prophet ﷺ used to take a bath with a sa' (of water) and perform ablution with a mudd (of water)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ

The Prophet ﷺ performed ablution with a vessel which contained two rotls (of water) and took a bath with a sa’ (of water).1 Abu Dawud Said : This tradition has berated on the authority of Anas through a different chain. This version mentions: “He performed ablution with one makkuk. “It makes no mention of two rotls. 2 Abu Dawud said : This tradition has also been narrated by Yahya b. Adam from Sharik. But this chain mentions Ibn Jabr b. ‘Atik instead of ‘ Abd Allah b. Jabr. Abu Dawud Said : This tradition has also been narrated by Sufyan from ‘Abd Allah b. ‘Isa. This chain mentions the name Jabr b. ‘Abd Allah instead of ‘Abd Allah b. Jabr. Abu Dawud Said : I heard Ahmad b. Hanbal say : one sa’ measures five rotls. It was the sa’ of Ibn Abi Dhi’b and also of the Prophet ﷺ.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِإِنَاءٍ يَسَعُ رَطْلَيْنِ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ

"The Prophet would perform Wudu with a Mudd, and he would perform Ghusl with a Sa."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَجَابِرٍ وَأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

"I heard Anas bin Malik say: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Wudu' with a Makkuk (cup) and Ghusl with five Makkuks (cups).'"

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَكُّوكٍ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِخَمْسَةِ مَكَاكِيَّ

"I heard Anas bin Malik say: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Wudu' with a Makkuk and Ghusl with five Makkuks.'"

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَكُّوكٍ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِخَمْسَةِ مَكَاكِيَّ

"I heard Anas bin Malik say: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Wudu' with a Makkuk (cup) and Ghusl with five Makkuks (cups).'"

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَكُّوكٍ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِخَمْسَةِ مَكَاكِيَّ

It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Ghusl with a Mudd and Ghusl with approximately a Sa'.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِمُدٍّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِنَحْوِ الصَّاعِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Ghusl with a Mudd and Ghusl with a Sa'."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ

"The Messenger of Allah used to perform ablution with a Mudd (of water) and bath with a Sa'."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ

"The Messenger of Allah used to perform ablution with a Mudd (of water) and bath with a Sa'."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ»

"I heard Anas bin Malik say: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Wudu' with a Makkuk (cup) and Ghusl with five Makkuks (cups).'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 73)

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمَكُّوكِ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِخَمْسِ مَكَاكِيكَ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ and the woman from his wives used to take a ritual bath from the same vessel. He would take a bath with five scoops of water and perform ablution with a dipper.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَالْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ يَغْتَسِلَانِ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ وَكَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ بِخَمْسِ مَكَاكِيَّ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَكُّوكٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the woman from his wives used to perform their ablutions from the same container, and he would perform ablutions with five handfuls of water and perform ablution with a vessel (Makook).

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَالْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ يَغْتَسِلَانِ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ وَكَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ بِخَمْسِ مَكَاكِيَّ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَكُّوكٍ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to perform ablution with a vessel that had a capacity of two-thirds of a liter, and he used to take a full bath with a measurement called "sa'a".

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِإِنَاءٍ يَكُونُرَطْلَيْنِ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ

"I heard Anas bin Malik say: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Wudu' with a Makkuk (cup) and Ghusl with five Makkuks (cups).'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 73)

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَغْتَسِلُبِخَمْسَةِ مَكَاكِيكَ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَكُّوكٍ

[AI] From the ship of the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, it was said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ghusl (ritual bath) with a sa' (a measure of volume) and purify himself with mud."

عَنْ سَفِينَةَ صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ وَيَتَطَهَّرُ بِالْمُدِّ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would perform ablution, then he would kiss, pray, and not perform ablution again.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ ثُمَّ يُقَبِّلُ وَيُصَلِّي وَلَا يَتَوَضَّأُ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used not to perform Wudu' after Ghusl." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 252)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَتَوَضَّأُ بَعْدَ الْغُسْلِ

"The Messenger of Allah used to perform ablution with a Mudd (of water) and bath with a Sa'." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 267)

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ used to perform ritual bathing with a sa'a (a unit of volume) of water, and he used to perform ablution with a quantity equivalent to the measure of a mudd or something similar.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَتَوَضَّأُ بَعْدَ الْغُسْلِ

[AI] Aisha, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ritual purification (ghusl) with one sa' (a unit of volume) of water, and perform ablution (wudu) with one mudd (another unit of volume) of water."

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ مِنَ الْمَاءِ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ

Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) took a bath with five Makkuks of water and performed ablution with one Makkuk. Ibn Muthanna has used the words five Makakiyya, and Ibn Mu'adh narrated it from 'Abdullah b. 'Abdullah and he made no mention of Ibn Jabr. (Using translation from Muslim 325a)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ»

[AI] He informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to "perform ghusl with the water of Maymuna."

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ «يَغْتَسِلُ بِفَضْلِ مَيْمُونَةَ»

"I heard Anas bin Malik say: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Wudu' with a Makkuk (cup) and Ghusl with five Makkuks (cups).'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 73)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ

"عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأ بِرطلَيْنِ، وَيغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاع".

" عَنْ سَفِينَةَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَغْتَسِلُ بالصَّاعِ، وَيَتَطَهَّرُ بِالْمُدِّ".
